Killian is the next story in the Hope City series and it is AMAZING❣️
Bekki is on the trail of possible corruption amongst some of the construction companies and finds a lead in an unlikely person...Killian, the owner of one of these companies😱 However, it takes her on a dangerous path and brings her and Killian together in more ways than one😍
Outstanding as usual and I can’t wait to find out what’s happening with Blayze😁

Bekki King is after the story that will launch her career as an investigative journalist into the stratosphere. But she needs some help explaining how things work in construction and the development of properties. Hmm...who does she know that could help? Killian Ganas is the brains behind his construction company, one he owns with her 3 other brothers. They annoy each other and well I have to say she and her cousin Jewell King seem to be a bit similar in the way that they jump from topic to topic. It's a bit like watching a verbal ping pong match. The verbal sparring between Killian and Bekki is well written and fun to read. Killian has a wonderful German Shepard who steals the show when he is present, at least in my opinion. Bekki and Killian are good together and without him, she could not have blown her story of corruption out of the water. There were a few twists and turns along the way.
I loved this latest edition of the Hope City series and am intrigued by the bits Ms. Micheals left for us concerning the next novel in the series. I certainly hope to see the Ganas brothers again, they deserve their happy endings too.

Corruption, Suspense, Action and Love. This One Has It All
When a determined news reporter investigates corruption she starts with a man she suspects could be a part of the problem. When a determined and proud construction company owner has been questioned by the journalist he is offended and calls her out on it. So starts the beginning of this exciting adventure in Hope City.
Bekki King is aggressive and speaks her mind when she goes after a story. Killian Ganas is proud of his accomplishments and listened to Bekki as her words incited his anger. He listened and did agree to a meeting to she what information she had.
Both characters were focused on their own personal goals and had prejudged each other. Kris Michaels does a wonderful job bringing these characters together as they begin to open their eyes and really see each other for what truly matters.
I loved how Killian and Bekki go from annoyed with each other to friends that allow time for feelings to change and then discover that there is more in life to embrace. Kris Michaels does all of this while writing an action packed, suspenseful and exciting story. Ms. Michaels allows her readers to see and feel the world she creates and this story is a shining example of her work. Killian is an exciting addition to Hope City and is an enjoyable read!

When developer Killian Ganas came to his estranged half-brother’s engagement party, investigative reporter, Bekki King was smitten and wary. Smitten because he checked most of the boxes for her and wary because he could be the star of her story on construction corruption. Bekki’s a bulldog when it comes to a story and brassy as a bad dye job, she wanted answers and decided to get tutorial level information and work her way up with Killian. But all doesn’t go according to plan!
Bekki apologizes with dinner at her place, accidently activating ‘hover mother’, but Killian and Bekki find out how wrong they were about each other. He gives her the info she wanted and points her in the direction shadiness abounds. Looking into f harbor purchases. Bekki finds a well of corruption, too deep for her on her own, she has to call in the big guns, her cousin, Jewell King. Meanwhile, a rival developer is applying pressure to Killian and others along the harbor, Bekki’s unaware she’s been targeted by the root of the corruption plot.

The princess and construction worker
Another great story. I am always amazed by the amount of research Kris Michaels put into her books. She makes every one of her characters sound like experts in their fields.
Beki King and the youngest daughter of the Kings of Hope City spoiled but ambitiousand driven. Killian is a man married to his job. He lives to work. Everything else is a distraction he does not need. Can two ambitious forces of nature co-exist or even heaven forbid like each other?
A great story of two people finding each other a d finding out there is more to life than work. There is also a bigger picture and a string of unsolved murders form the other books that come to a head here. This book and be read as a stand alone but is so much better for having read the other books of this and the Kings of Guatduan series. On a side note one of the most popular Kings makes an appearance here.

I absolutely love this series by Kris Michaels and Mary Ann Jordan. Killian is now related to the King family by his half brother's marriage. A construction company owner, builder, an hermit is working on his latest project when Bekki King, a journalist, asks for his help with her investigation into crooked construction people and politicians. After Killian takes offence and asks her to leave, Bekki realizes how brash she can be.
As the two work with her research and his knowledge of how processes should be done, their attractions grow. Their lives become endangered when Killian refuses to sell a part of his property by the Harbor. Bekki discovers the fraud involved with the politicians and the Russian Mafia.
Michaels is a good writer for both suspense and burgeoning lovers. I cannot wait until her next book in the series which comes out in September.

2.5 stars. This author knows how to tell a story. I'm only interested in her books in this series. Like too many other long series with interwoven characters, the same elements appear in every story; writing becomes similar. The ending is very predictable; ultimately boring.
This is a good mix of mystery and romance, although both are surface level. Their romance moves very quickly from a kiss or two, to sex the next night and deciding they are exclusive. The mystery involves the Russian mob which Bekki "easily" solves and just shrugs off the danger.
I liked Killian but struggled to connect to Bekki. She exhibits some TSTL behaviors. "The man who you met tonight is dangerous.” “How do you know that? I mean, besides the fact that he had a gun." "He didn't try to kill ME." Good grief.

Kris Michaels loaded up Killian with corrupt politicians, Russian mobsters, assassins, an adorable yet protective German Shepherd and so much more. Add in a tenacious news reporting dynamo and a construction company owner who loves being a builder to his very core and it's a fabulous tale. Bekki King and Killian Ganas are superb characters who seem to send off white hot vibess whenever they're in close proximity to one another. The fact that he almost banished her from his construction trailer after she leveled an accusation at him is not the best way to start a relationship. Keeping up with Bekki's ever spinning brain and keeping her safe as she ruffles feathers on numerous fronts becomes a full time job for Killian. One that he loves and is absolutely dedicated to.

There's a nice story here, both about family unity and love, and reconciliation. Killian Ganas is the young genius behind the family development company's construction arm. His father and brothers are all part-owners, and it's important to Killian that he repay his father's loan of capital for the initial capitalization. The brothers all regret the way their father has treated their half-brother Ryker Terrell. They want to bring him into the business, too. Becki King is an ambitious reporter, looking for her big story. When she finds it, she and Killian end up working together to trace the origins of the corruption. It is dangerous and becomes more so. The families are working together for unity,though. Hannah King is a force to be reckoned with.

always for the truth
Killian is a newer character to the series, but has a great backstory as one of five brothers that we met through Rykers story. Bekkie has been in the entire series as she is the daughter of the commissioner and one of the King siblings. Together they are a strong couple who has interesting skill sets, conversations and chemistry! Their view of family and honesty is noteworthy throughout. The way their view of each other changes is also entertaining. The dads were present in this story and had some great moments with their children. Also, we got a hint of a secret story for Ryker and one heck of a cliffhanger for Blay! I enjoy this series and look forward to more stories.

OMG I love Bekki and Killian. Another great book by Kris Michaels
Bekki accused him of being a criminal and when he threw het out of his office, she turns around and asks him for his help. Killian thinks she is a spoiled, princess who is high maintenance. They both had preconceived opinions about the other and found out they were both wrong. Now she is getting deeper into her story and someone tries to kidnap her after her interview with a councilman that she is trying to prove is corrupt. Are they connected and how will she prove it when she keeps running into dead ends? Who can she turn to for help when she is put in protective custody of sorts by her dad, the police commissioner? Will she get the story of a lifetime with this or is it all a dead end?

'A conundrum wrapped in hyperactivity and tied in abrasiveness'
This may be my favourite book of the series, I love the Kings and the McBrides, but of all of them Bekki is one of the best characters, she is hilarious and Killian may have a severe, abrupt outer defense but it hides such a warm, soft heart!
I like that they just embrace what is happening with 'Don't think too much about it. I'm not!. Of course being a King Bekki attracts trouble, which means we get to see the very yummy protective side of Killian!
I really, really enjoyed this book and catching up with the whole King/McBride clan.

WOW! Another FANTASTIC story by Kris! This is about Bekki and Killian. It's amazing how judging people can get you into trouble. Bekki judged Killian to be a criminal but soon realized that he was not. Killian judged Bekki to be a princess diva and found she was not. Once they started talking, their relationship took off. It's unfortunate that her mentor was involved with the mob. As the story progresses, we find the Russian job to become aggressive to get what they want no matter the consequences. Luckily this couple survived and are now working on their happily ever after. FANTASTIC job Kris! I would recommend this book.

This book is exciting, suspenseful and action packed book I thoroughly enjoyed it. Killian thinks Bekki conniving, gold-digging, princesses. Bekki thinks Killian is involved in dirty deals with his construction business. Bekki knows there is corruption on the city council and maybe deeper. As she investigates with Killian assisting her in the legal way of his work the two grow close and he has his hands full understanding the ADHD thoughts and keeping her safe. Duke, Killian’s German shepherd and best friend, is a major character and loves Bekki. This book has dirty politics, bribery, Russian mafia, family, friends, steam and love.

MAFIA MAYHEM
Misunderstandings and misconceptions lead to a most amazing relationship. Lots of action including kidnapping, lead to the discovery corruption at the highest levels and a surprising betrayal by a friend. Under all this is the connection of family, an ever growing family.
Each book in this series just keep getting better. Killian is a could not put it down, not to be missed story/book. So highly recommend not only this book but the entire series!

Really good read between two characters who are just ordinary people caught up in something that impacts so many lives. The romance is a slow, steady burn that gets hotter and hotter as they get to know each other while the unknown danger is a threat slowly creeping closer to them. Love how other characters pop in and out and how the stories overlap each other making you feel as though you are in the middle of everything.

Wow! I almost couldn’t keep up with this book - in a good way. It was fast paced and exciting - Corruption, Bribery, Attempted Kidnapping, sassy investigative reporter, hot business owner with a dog, and a surprise with helpful information... what more do you need! I’ve said it before, Kris Michaels is Brilliant! Every time I think she can’t write something better, she does! Twelve stars!

Very likeable characters
Bekki is determined to find out what corruption is going on in Hope City. Killian probes he's not part of the corruption and tries to help. They both end up in dangerous situations and almost killed. Always enjoy how the author describes the police commissioner, he's a King so I always picture this bigger than life man like his brother in Michaels' other series.

Another awesome story
Killian and Bekkie's story is as awesome as the previous books in the Hope City series. Because the series follows the King and McBride families, my favorite thing of visiting characters happens quite often. And that makes the reading experience richer for me. Can't wait for more!

Another great!
I love the Hope City novels:) The main families and all who orbit around them. In this story, aside from the main storyline of the HOT and sexy burn between Killian and Becca is more of the back story in the Ganas line. Promises to be interesting, and full of twisty intrigue:)

I thoroughly enjoyed this story of Killian and Bekki. The story line is engaging, inviting and sexy sweet. With the journey of this couple you will find plenty of sexy times to include intriguing moments of plot twists. The entire series has a great fluidity from book one (Brock) to most recent Killian. A definite must-have series.

Love! Love! Love!
What I loved most about Killian and Bekki’s story is .... EVERYTHING! Hope City is a series that Kris Michaels and Maryann Jordan have created and I so want to live there! They each write their own stories but yet there is a cohesiveness with each book. Which I LOVE!

Hope City Keeps Growing
Somebody in construction trade is playing footsie with the building inspector and someone is trying to buy up all the land by the docks, including Killians. Is it one and the same person. A certain sexy investigative reporter thinks so and she has her eye on Killian. Is she right?

As always Kris Michaels did an amazing job.
Love this book so much.
Bekki and Killian story was great. They have both judge each other wrong and then became first friends and then lovers.
Love the storyline. The suspense had me on the edge of my seat.
This book and series is a must read. Great work by two amazing authors.

Another Winning Story!
I can't say enough about the stories Kris Michaels writes. They are all fabulous! She is an auto buy for me and I am always happily looking forward to her books! Another wonderful book about the people in Hope City.
Bekki is a reporter. Killian is a construction company owner. He is also her brother-in-law 's half brother. She is investigating him but finds nothing with his company but it starts a big investigation into other things. It is a crazy adventure filled story with all the families involved. Love these stories.

I honestly can not say enough good things about Kris's writing. I love some seriously alpha men and the women that tame them and Kris writes them so well.
Love these books and the spin off series. They keep on getting better and better.
You don't know what you are missing if you don't read Kris's work.
