A classic Halloween rhyme is brought to life with adorable illustrations in this spooky board book.
Five little pumpkins sitting on a gate. The first one says, "My, it's getting late!"
What tricks or treats are in store for the five little pumpkins? A classic rhyme is brought to life with adorable illustrations in this spooky board book.
In this charming board book, five smiling pumpkins of various sizes are resting atop a gate when one by one, they notice that it's getting dark and a bit spooky. They become scared and decide to run and then roll down the hill to safety. I'm not exactly sure what caused the light to go out and then come on again--perhaps they just can't see when they're in the forest--but the rhyming text makes the story fun and slightly tense while the facial expressions on the pumpkins have child-appeal. The book could be read on its own merits but also be used as a way to incorporate counting as part of the reading or as a quick lesson on size. Obviously, this would be a good title to bring out right around Halloween.
It’s one of my baby’s favorite board books! She can’t stop looking at it and asking me to read it. Besides the five little pumpkins and fun classic rhymes, it includes illustrations of witches, spiders, owls, frogs, and more. It’s a fun spooky read!
My boy loved the pumpkins and helped me count them, the only thing he didn't like was when the lights went out and to him it was alittle scary and he shut the book lol. Other then that he was enjoying the nice read with his momma.
