International award winning author and double B.R.A.G. Honoree, I have published forty-six novels including Science Fiction, Fantasy, Mystery, and suspense thrillers. I live in Florida, with mywife Bonnie.

A Hybrid Traditional and Independent Author, I became an independent publisher, author, and writer in 2008 with Angels in Mourning, my 'homage' to the old-time private detective's of the 50's and the 60's. (I used to sneak them from my parents' night tables and read them as a young boy.) Angels is a contemporary take on the old-style noir detective and won the Amazon.com Book of the Month Reader's Choice Award.

The first book of my Sci-Fi Fantasy series Tales of Nevaeh. Born to Magic, is an international Amazon genre Best Seller, Awarded the Silver medallion from the Drunken Druid International Literary Awards, and was a Kindle Review of Books finalist for Fantasy Book of the year. The final book of the series, A Dance of Light and Dark, Volume 8, was released on September 1, 2022.

Among my Mysteries & Thrillers are The Hyte Maneuver, (a Literary Guild alternate selection); The Sokova Convention, The Morrisy Manifest, Desperately Killing Suzanne, The Whistleblower’s Daughter, and Out of the Shadows.
My first non-fiction book, The Indie Writer’s Handbook, Designed for Independently Published authors, was honored with a B.R.A.G. Medallion for literary excellence, and awarded the Bronze Medal by the Florida Authors and Publishers Association.

I wrote a contemporary fiction novel, based on the Harry Chapin Song, A Better Place to Be, was named a B.R.A.G. Medallion Honoree, signifying a book of the highest literary quality, and written by an independent writer; and, A Better Place to Be also received the Bronze Medal Award from Ireland's Drunken Druid International Literary Awards.

“Science appeared forgotten, technology non-existent—a happenstance Roth believed to be for the best, seeing how science had murdered the planet.”

As a huge fan of the ‘Tales of Neveah’ series, I’ve always wanted to see more of Roth’s history and now it’s here.

This is the epic journal (part 1) of Roth’s experience prior to becoming an important part of Neveah, and provides a look at some of his studies prior to this. Wind managed to keep this important character true to what we’ve seen in other books and paint a very plausible picture of how he came into such wisdom. Roth is a brilliant character that could only have been developed by a truly insightful author. If you’re a fan of the ‘Tales of Neveah’ series, read this to appreciate and understand more of the world while getting a fix. If you’re not, you’re sorely missing out and I suggest you get going on it.

At times, the likelihood that these books are our exact future seems eerie, but either way it makes for an epic, incredible read. My only complaint is that there isn’t more … however there will be! I eagerly await part 2.

This read contains adventure, meticulous planning, epic battles, dark magic, pure evil, true love, the makings of what will be either major conflict or alliances (you’ll have to read to find out), action and more.

5 stars. ALL the stars.

Wow!! What a great ride this story is, I literally had my heart in my mouth as it unfolded. What to say without giving the plot away......well the characters were great and the author really makes you care for them, hence the heart in the mouth comment (would they all be coming back home). Each character come across strong and capable and I like the fact the women have the upper hand in battle, with there powers and not forgetting there animal friends. There was plenty of action to keep you reading well past your bedtime all because you can't put it down and need to see what happens next. I like the way it is high Tec with drones and space ships in the first couple of chapters and then it is back to swords and arrows, with a little bit of magic of course. The changing of the animal names is fun as you try to work out what it was before the mutation. All in all a very good book and I look forward to the next one.
When the circle of Afzal sets out to destroy the world they do such a good job that 200 people not infected by disease or mutations are frozen and sent out into outer space to awake when it is safe to return to earth. All of mankinds survival rest on this plan. when it is time to come out of hibernation Solomon Roth is the soul survivor, a malfunction with the machines has caused everybody else to die.
The earth he once knew has gone but Nevaeh has risen in it place, world with mutated creatures, strange powers and no technology. The world is ruled by 10 kingdoms but worryingly of all elements of the Circle of Afzal have remained and have all so mutated into all powerful masters still intent of destroying the world. Can Roth a navy seal put his skills to good use and do more than just survive in this strange new world. The only hope he has is to make friends and capture hearts because leading by example is the only way he has of fighting the black witch oh and by changing the rules of engagement on her. When the black witch takes a powerful Queen hostage by staring a war between kingdoms, can Roth and his friends accompanied by the aoutern (like a witches familiar) travel through the wastelands battling creatures and creations to get her back.
I hope it makes it to way to an audio book.
I was given this free review copy book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

If you’re an epic fantasy fan, check out this book in the Tales of Nevaeh series by David Wind. The first book follows Solomon Roth as he awakens from a three-thousand-year-long sleep to find his spaceship is intact, but the rest of his crew are dead, either from stasis pod malfunction or sabotage. He’s the only survivor from an Earth ravaged by nuclear war. Generations later, people have once again populated the habitable territories, but there’s much discord among the various kingdoms. Mutations have brought forth powers that Solomon can only describe as magic, and the same evil force that destroyed Earth in his time is wreaking havoc again. The only way to defeat them is to unite all of Nevaeh. Donning native garb, Solomon casts off his origins and resides among the people, but his unusual ideas and warrior skills make him stand out. Soon he emerges as a true leader and finds his mate. But can they unite the warring factions to defeat the greater evil? This imaginative tale will immerse you in its world and provide hours of pleasant escape. Suspenseful actions scenes, strong female characters and magical elements combine into one story you won’t want to put down!
