Somebody Wanted the Homecoming Queen Murdered

The annual homecoming parade isn't as jovial as it should be when the Homecoming Queen is found murdered on one of the floats. She was rumored to be a siren. Did one of her suitors get tired of being strung along? Or was jealousy part of the equation? With young girls vying for the attention of certain men, mundane or magical, sometimes envy can turn evil.

Aunt Tiegan and Granny have their own ways with teaching magic. Will Thea be stuck in between their feuding?

And what does Thea learn when she meets a college professor who went to school with her mother?

Constance Barker lives in the Midwest with her husband and two Akitas where she can look out from her screened porch onto a wooded area brimming with activity. Since she was a young girl she read mysteries, often given to her by her grandmother. She loved figuring out who the culprit was and sometimes she was right and other times startled at who the author picked as the assailant. Now she enjoys writing mysteries herself. When she isn't writing stories, she can be found in her favorite vacation spot, Las Vegas or shopping for bargains.

The attraction of a siren is also relative - males seem to be much more drawn to sirens -Some females have distinct aversions - and this might be a complication in inquiries into a recent homicide

Romance and exploring her folks past are keeping Thea occupied- and wondering about her deceased mom’s past has her a bit befuddled

Secrets pop up unexpectedly

Thank goodness for beau Blaine and her crazy collection of gal pals and her familiar- balance and safety are hard to maintain without their stress relieving kinda crazy

Thea, Sybil and the entire gang are back with another spellbinding murder case to solve. It’s the morning of the homecoming parade when a dead body is discovered on one float, the boy of the previous years home coming queen. Rhianna, the dead girl wasn’t that well liked so corralling all the usual suspects was easy for Thea and Blaine, the town’s sheriff. Thea and Blaine eliminate them one by one as their alibis check out. When Thea confronts the murderer and tricks him into confessing that he did the dastardly deed, it almost costs her her life. Only the ongoing training that Thea is receiving from her aunt and grandmother that is helping her develop her magical powers that enables her to escape the warlocks trap, capture him and hold him immobile until Blaine arrives and slaps the cuffs on him.

The main subplot running throughout these books are the growing romances between Thea and Blaine, and Pippa and Jessie. The authors leave us with another anticlimactic ending when Blaine realizes that he loves Thea and confesses his love for her to hear. With a little magical nudging from Thea, Jessie and Pippa are same realizing. Are there wedding bells in the future for Thea and Blaine? Will Jessie and Pippa marry? Since they are so close will there be a double wedding. What fresh adventures await them? We’ll just have to wait and read Ghoulish Magic, the next book, book 5 in The Tabby Kitten Mystery Series to find out. My preorder is in. I can hardly wait for it to arrive!

Although each book is a stand alone story, it's fun to see how the characters grow and develop. The interactions and relationships develop as well, which brings me to a very nice part of this book. *Sigh* Unfortunately, I am as big believer in not blabbing everything I know, so you are just going to have to read this book to figure out what develops! I will tell you that the Ardensville PD is lucky to have Theo on the case! She and Blaine make a great team who don't rest until the culprit is caught.
From magic lessons and scrying, Thea learns things that Blaine needs to know. And if Sybil, the adorable kitten, wasn't there to help Thea, even less knowledge would be available! Sybil is the perfect undercover assistant as she can go about anywhere and listens to conversations others couldn't get near. Thea and Sybil really do make a great team.
I loved the story and didn't figure out the killer until paragraphs before the big reveal by Thea. This series is best read in order, but if you jump in mid series, you will still love the story! Terrific book!

Another murder mere weeks after the last one? A college student is found murdered on a float just before the Homecoming Parade. And because she was a siren who attracted many into her orbit, there are a lot of suspects. Exes, jealous sorority sisters, a school custodian, and even a professor. And Thea and Blaine keep hitting dead ends. But she has found out more information about her mother and why she came back to town to complete her college degree, and Blain and Thea are getting closer. Now Pippa and Jesse just need a nudge in the right direction. Ah love!!!!! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I am more enchanted by this series with every book that is released. The storyline flows smoothly and the characters are quirky. This book can be read as a standalone, I would recommend reading the previous books, if only for the entertainment value. Watching Thea and her witch training is a lot of fun... Her aunt and granny have such differing views that it is funny. All in all this is just a good paranormal cozy and I will be anxious for the next book.

During a must anticipated Homecoming parade, last year's homecoming queen is found dead on one of the floats. Now Blaine has asked Thea to 'look into' what she can find out about Rhianna. Seems not everyone 'loved' her as much as others thought, but who would want to kill her? There are some strong suspects. Can Blaine and Thea figure out who the killer is? The characters in this series are so adorable. Their interpersonal relationships are to be desired and they mirror something that you would see in a Hallmark movie. The plot of the story is well planned out. This book and series is one to be read.

This was a wonderful story in this series. I loved it. I was happy that on the relationship front there was progress on both. I love the characters in this series and am quite interested in their lives. I hope Thea finds out more about her parents, this will probably be helpful to her. I look forward to the next adventure!

Everyone loved Rhianna. She was beautiful, fun and totally adorable; she was Homecoming Queen for goodness sake! So why did someone murder her? She was a siren - men cannot get enough of her and women? But yet there were some fellas who were very angry with her and some girls who were really nasty and glad that she was gone. So perhaps she was not that adorable...

Another fun read from Barker and Winters with a whole load of possible suspects. I really enjoy the relationship between Thea and Blaine and Jesse and Pippa makes me laugh - c'mon guys, get a move on!! Good read, recommended
