The author gets certain dates and details wrong. But as a Katharine Hepburn afficionado, I found it worth reading just to get more information about her younger days.
I found this book to be a wonderful look at how Kate Hepburn became Kate Hepburn. Instead of being a typical biography, this gets more into her family and all the familial factors that went into making her the person she became. I was surprised by how interesting this book was, and I highly recommend it as a study of the time period as well.
I read this book over a decade ago and enjoyed it though many of the facts presented in this book have been disproved over the years--including Kate's birthday.
