The mourning doves sang a song About the five stages of grief Between us and inside of me. They cried over us until there Was nothing left to salvage but pain.
But the mourning doves say That grieving can lead to healing And that endings can lead to New beginnings.

I received this ARC in exchange for a review. I don't typically pick up poetry but I enjoyed Mourning Doves. The writing felt really cared for and creative and I recommend it to anyone looking for poetry that deals with leaving a toxic relationship and getting over someone that you once loved. I also really liked the illustrations!
