ANGEL: This is what I do. I lay it all on the line.
Spike will either break my heart or make it whole. There is no middle ground. I embrace that and brace for it. Although, I pray there’s no need for that.
“What do you need?” He grips my hand and raises it to his mouth. His soft lips graze the backs of my knuckles.
“What do you mean?”
“What do you need to know, to believe, that you are mine?”
“I honestly don’t know.”
And that’s as honest as I can be with him. I want forevers tied into neat little bows, but that’s not Spike. It will never be him. He’s all hard edges and rough spots. Things to be wary of and things to love. He’s the thing I love, and with that comes the power to destroy me.
I should run, but I flock to him like the poor, desperate, moth drawn to the flame. He holds the power to destroy me, but I don’t care. As long as I have one moment with him, I’ll die happy as I burn.

Ellie has once again wooed me with her words and pulled me into the world of her characters. I am sorry to see this series end but in true Ellie fashion I hope that we may see these characters in a crossover ! We have Spike and Angel and this is their story. Angel is the long lost daughter of Bash. He has no idea that she existed until about a year ago. Spike is our quintessential bad boy rocker and he has worked hard for that reputation. The moment he sees Angel he knows in his heart that she is the one but out of respect to his best friend and band mate he keeps his distance, until he just can't anymore. Angel never knew who her father was and when her mother became ill with terminal cancer she quickly found out who and what he was. A superstar is not what she was expecting and being brought into his world after the loss of her mother was more than difficult. She is not sure of many things such as her career path or who she can trust but she is sure that she may be in love with her father's friend and he continues to keep her at a distance. They have danced around one another for a year and yes their is a bit of an age difference but the heart wants what the heart wants. Angel and Spike are explosive and have such sexual chemistry and are surrounded by a wonderful supporting cast! Everything is beginning to come together until Spike's secrets begin to surface. Can Angel trust him the be the man she needs and wants in her life?? ~~Michele McMullen ~~
Sad this is the last in the series. I do love this band/family and all their quirks. This was the story of Spike and Angel finally giving in to their desire. Once she turned 18... the 2 of them went from zero to 60 in seconds flat! It was hot, but lacked a sense of intimacy and maturity. She is still quite young after all and they were so wrapped up in either having sex or hiding that they are having sex that most of the book was secrets .... Which is funny cause how do you keep anything a secret in that household? They uncover secrets! That's what they do! Forest was all over it... Like he could smell it and I mean that quite literally!
Of course, all our favorite characters made an appearance, even Old Joe, and we got to learn a few new things about Noodles. But getting to know Spike's big heart and selfless acts was amazing. Boy do I love this family! Every one of them is made of gold and it felt like hanging out with old friends.
Would have loved for it to be longer... Or maybe I just never want it to end.
I highly recommend reading the previous books in the series as it will put this book in context. Reading order is of great debate, and I am of the camp to start w Hearts Insanity (1) and then read Ashes to New (the prequel)! You want to know its going to okay before learning about the past. Trust me on this!
I have waited for this book with excitement and also a small amount of sadness as it is the last in the serious about the gorgeous Angel Fire boys. Ellie Masters is a sublime story weaver, she pulls you in from the first page and you become fully invested in all the characters. Spike has always been on the edges of the previous books, tantalising glimpses of his beautiful soul. His growing desire for Angel and the internal battle he has been fighting since Angel's sudden appearance in their lives was always going to lead him into her arms. I have been intrigued by Spikes piercings and to find out the reasons for them was amazing and surprisingly pure. Well apart from one piercing, there is no pureness behind the motivation for that one at all, but apparently it serves a rather delicious purpose. Lucky Angel is all I can say!!! A fabulous end to an brilliant series, I know I will get to see the boys and their growing families in Ellie's Guardian Rescue books so it isn't goodbye, more of a see you soon.
I was not a rockstar reading fan until I met Angel Fire. Over the years, reading the journey of these men and their women has been such a treat. It hasn't always been easy and it hasn't always been pretty, but it has been real. I just feel so connected to them and I'm really heartbroken to have this series come to an end.
I've watched Spike just kind of roll through life and was always very intrigued by him. I love the way this author weaves a storyline together with such high emotion. I'm not one to give a synopsis of a novel because I think it takes away from the going in blind aspect, however, I will say that "fathers best friend" trope is one of my all time favs! There is a built in angst to that which just lights my fire.
"To everything there is a season" and the season of Angel Fire has ended, but that ending leaves hope and really all we need is hope, right? Thank you Ellie Masters for this gift of a series. I have loved every word.
The Series Comes To A Teary Conclusion As Spike Finally Leaves His Bachelor Days Behind & Finds The Courage To Claim Angel As His In This Age Gap/Friend’s Daughter Forbidden Romance! From A Band Of Rowdy Bachelors To a Large & Expanding Family Filled With Love, Devotion, & Diapers, The Men Of Angel Fire Have All Finally Found Their HEA’s.
This is the seventh and final book of the Angel Fire Rock Romance series, bringing the series to a bittersweet end. ABOUT THE ANGEL FIRE ROCK ROMANCE SERIES:
Angel Fire is one of the biggest rock bands around. The band nearly broke up several years back when drugs and addiction became a problem, but after some rehab and a sobriety pledge, they have continued on stronger than ever. Lead singer and guitarist Blaze has been friends since high school with Bash, who plays drums. Bent, who has a mop of curly black hair, plays bass. Noodles, tall and lanky, plays on keyboards and stands out with his tribal tats. Spike plays lead guitar and happens to be covered in piercings. Spike and Noodles have been close friends since they were kids.
Bandmates Blaze (a.k.a. Ash), Bash, Bent, Spike, and Noodles have led the rock star lifestyle for years, though drugs are now strictly forbidden. That hasn’t hampered their fun, and although the men have settled down in comparison to their earlier years, they continue to be a rowdy bunch. They fight like brothers and enjoy the pleasures offered by scores of groupies. There are parties around the clock with scores of willing women as well as dirty contests and bets amongst the bachelors. The world-renowned rock band remains at the height of success, but things are slowly changing over time. The enigmatic but brilliant Forest Summers becomes their manager, and one by one the bachelors settle into a lifestyle focused on family, leaving their bachelor days behind. They all live along the California coast in a shared residence called Insanity.
Book one, Heart’s Insanity, is Ash and Skye’s story. When Dr. Skye Summers has more important things to do than to put up with a bunch of rowdy and inconsiderate guys, she gets Ash’s full attention.
Ashes to New is the series prequel, though it is recommended to be read after book one. The novella is the heartbreaking story of Forest Summers and his sister Skye in their youth. Note that Forest and Skye are crossover characters. They each have a book in the Angel Fire series, and both are important characters in the Guardians: HRS series. This emotional prequel gives readers insight into their early trauma and motivation.
Book two, Heart’s Desire, is Ryker and Tia’s story. They are members of a Special Ops surgical team in Iraq but become part of the band’s extended family. They later work for Forest at Guardians: Hostage Rescue Specialists as part of the medical team that Skye heads. They are thus also sometimes featured in the Guardians: HRS series.
Book three, Hearts Collide, is Bent and Piper’s story. Piper, a physical therapist, enters Bent’s life after his injury during the band’s first USO tour (in book two).
Book four, Hearts Divided, is Bash and Holly’s story. Holly made Bash believe in love again. Angel, his seventeen year old daughter, has added to the activity in the home, and the couple’s dogs add to the mix as well.
*Note that though book five precedes book six numerically, Forest’s story appears to precede Noodles and Mitzy’s story chronologically. This is likely the result of Forest’s story being moved from its original spot in a different series*
Book six, Forest’s Fall, is Forest’s well-deserved HEA. He is a broken man, as evidenced by his childhood story in Ashes to New. Forest is the band’s biggest fan as well as their manager. He may not relate well to people, but he is a genius and dabbles in several jobs at once. He also runs the Guardians, which is headquartered along the California coast in a large facility just across the way from Insanity, where the band lives.
Forest is a crossover character that appears in several books. Changing Roles (books 4-6), is a book by Jet Masters (and Ellie Masters) that crosses several series in one book. It is also book two in the Captive Hearts series. It shows the human trafficking side of the story, and Forest’s involvement from that angle. Forest’s Fall, book six of the Angel Fire series, takes place after Changing Roles and it was previously book three of the Captive Hearts series. Forest can also be found in the Guardians series, beginning in book two.
Book five, Hearts Entwined, is Noodles and Mitzy’s story. Noodles is all about finding his inner peace, but when computer genius Mitzy joins the Guardians and temporarily moves into Insanity, the socially awkward and feisty pixie somehow captures his heart despite the chaos that surrounds her.
Book seven, Hearts: the Last Beat, is Spike and Angel’s story. Angel has had eyes on one of her dad’s best friends since moving into Insanity one year ago, but Spikes resistance can only last so long after she finally turns eighteen. Their romance puts everything on the line as the future of Angel Fire stands in doubt. IN THIS BOOK:
Spike, lead guitarist for Angel Fire, is months shy of thirty and the sole remaining bachelor of the band. The guys had a wild ride with years of unbridled partying together and hundreds of willing groupies. But the days of non-stop parties at Insanity have been replaced with a mix of family meals and quiet interludes. The days of bringing strange women back to Insanity are in the past. Until not too long ago, Spike and his longtime friend Noodles often went off together at night to pick up women, but that habit began to fall apart even before Noodles fell for Mitzy. Spike could go out on his own, but he hasn’t been interested in picking up women in over a year. Not since Angel came to live with Bash at Insanity. She was seventeen then, but her eighteenth birthday has come and gone. There is nothing wrong with pursuing her now, after all, since he and they guys had been with a lot of eighteen year olds over the years. It just so happens that this particular eighteen year old lives in Insanity and is Bash’s daughter.
Spike has spent a year avoiding Angel, leaving the room whenever she was present. He has had a lot of time to think about all the ramifications of pursing her. Her interest in him is obvious, and he has been exercising a level of self-control that he never knew he had. The guys consider him a hedonist, but what he wants from Angel is so much more. He just has to be sure … they have to know that what they have is real before they open up a can of worms. It has to remain a secret until then because once it gets out, everything is on the line – his home at Insanity, his band, his friends, and the family that they have all formed. He wants to have it all with Angel at his side, though he knows he might just be forced to choose.
Angel, eighteen, is still lost after the death of her mother. A year ago she lost her mom and her home, her friends and her school, and moved into a home with a father she had been told had abandoned her. Only it turned out that Bash had never known about her; her mother had kept that part a secret. Fifteen year old Bash had aspirations, and Valerie made the decision not to tie him down, denying him the opportunity to know his daughter. Bash may have invited her to live at Insanity, but he and Angel haven’t exactly made a smooth transition into their father-daughter relationship. Instead they routinely battle it out, with Bash overcompensating for the lost years by being too protective, and Angel struggling to find her place in a large home full of rock stars.
After being uprooted during her senior year of high school and dealing with a father she never knew, mourning her mother hasn’t been easy. And the pressure from Bash to get a job or go to college has only added to Angel’s state of confusion. She had spent so much time caring for her ailing mother, and later mourning that loss, that thoughts of her own future, or even of her own interests, had simply escaped her. As Angel witnessed her classmates making plans for after graduation, the only thing that captivated her attention was Spike. She senses a connection, though he denies it and drives her insane. She longs to know everything about him, about the sensitive side she is convinced lies somewhere beneath that prickly exterior. Meanwhile Bash’s pushing has only fed Angel’s insecurity and doubts as to her place in her father’s life and at Insanity. After a year of calling it home, she still feels like an outsider.
When Spike finally decides to go to Angel, he knows there is no turning back. He has never had a relationship, but he yearns to have what his friends have found, and he knows Angel is the one. He has some secrets in his past, however, that he hasn’t shared with the band. He has a habit of going on trips from time to time, disappearing for a few days with no explanation. He values his privacy above all else, but secrets don’t exactly build trust.
Angel cannot believe her luck when Spike confesses that he feels their connection, too. She had wondered but had always dismissed it as her imagination. She wants nothing more than to get close to him, to learn everything about the man that has captured her heart for so long. She wants to know the meaning behind his tattoos, and if there is a story about why he wears so many piercings. He keeps some things close to the vest, but she hopes patience will persevere. Yet occasionally her doubts do win and her insecurities rule the day. She worries she won’t be enough for a man like him who could have any woman he wants. The couple has fought their attraction for over a year, but things become explosive when they stop denying what they feel for one another. Relationships at Insanity are in jeopardy and the future of Angel Fire is at risk, all for this couple whose love can no longer be denied.
Grab the tissues! Spike and Angel’s story brings the series to a tearful ending. As the last book, it does a fairly nice job of bringing most of the other major characters in the series back, evoking a real sense of family at Insanity. There must be something in the water there, because there are a lot of babies on the way! It is rewarding to see Spike soften up as he finds his own love story. Angel’s story is sweet. It is easy to empathize with her, even if she does come across as bratty at times (she is only eighteen). Relying on a father who seems to want her to flee the coup before she has obtained a sense of stability would be challenging for a grieving eighteen year old. It is easy to see why she is adrift and pushing back. And though Bash may be trying, he lacks the skill and experience to slow down and talk through their issues. She has always had a penchant for older men, so her attraction to Spike works. Her story does feel a little incomplete, though.
A few issues merit mention. *Spoilers* Angel never does find her purpose in life – a job or school to pursue. That falls by the wayside. She and Spike spent two months on driving lessons but never tackled her future. Both she and Spike were aware that she needed to find direction, and Spike understood that helping Angel along would please Bash, and yet they never address this. It had been the source of an ongoing argument between Bash and Angel yet it went unresolved. In another note, Holly, Angel, and Bash come across rather badly at times. If you haven’t read Bash and Holly’s story, you will likely not like Holly here at all. Bash tries as a father, but imperfectly which is understandable (especially considering he is a rock star). Holly just leaves him on his own, and though it is probably appropriate that she not try to interfere, she could certainly have made an effort to make a friendship with Angel and she could have quietly schooled Bash on ways that he could communicate with his daughter more effectively. One might have thought that over the course of their year of getting to know one another, Bash might have taken his family – Holly and Angel – on a vacation for some time to bond, or some day trips nearby. It really felt like Bash and Holly did leave Angel out to dry, giving her a suite of rooms and expecting her to magically transition to adulthood. Angel was dealing with severe insecurity about her living situation on top of grief, and her father’s in your face attitude wasn’t a good match for her style. It was nothing like the mother that raised and loved her. Bash also goes a little overkill on Spike. Holly says some really awful things to Angel which would be hard to forgive in a step-parent. Angel has every right to feel rejected and insecure. On another note, Angel is sometimes immature, but at least she is eighteen. Her attack on Spike, however, made her a little harder to like as a romantic lead. In a further point, the chick brigade says rather nonchalantly that Bash won’t care about Spike and Angel as long as Spike is good to her. They treat it like it isn’t a big deal, and then complacently sit back and watch as everything comes to blows. Finally, the ending is a little abrupt. It would have been wonderful to see an epilogue, one or more years later, with the couples and all their kids. It would be nice to see Ryker and Tia in it as well since they do have their own book in the series and live nearby. But more importantly, it never clarifies whether Spike remains part of Angel Fire. His honeymoon lasts a month but the tour began in less than a month. If he were going on tour he would have needed to be present for at least some of the prep. The story implies that Spike missed the tour and never returned to the band, but leaves the reader guessing.
The series comes to a teary conclusion as Spike finally leaves his bachelor days behind and finds the courage to claim Angel as his in this age gap/friend’s daughter forbidden romance. From a band of rowdy bachelors to a large and expanding family filled with love, devotion, and diapers, the men of Angel Fire have all finally found the HEA’s. More than friends, they are brothers, and as they move forward in their success together, they learn that life is more rewarding when they open their hearts and minds to love and family. This final story is both rewarding and bittersweet for fans of the series. The plot is fairly simple. The majority of the book covers just two important days as Spike and Angel work things out; the last bit skips ahead a bit, but the looming danger of Bash discovering the forbidden relationship weighs heavily throughout. Their discovery is not avoidable; the best they can hope for is to soften the blow. The end is in true Angel Fire fashion. The story is written in first person. The POV alternates between Spike and Angel. I rate this book 3.5 stars.
I received an advance copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
When I started this book, I didn’t like Spike very much, not because of the age gap (my husband is 7 years older than me and it is not important). I think it was his facial piercings, I really don’t like them and I think that turned me off him. Then, as the story evolved, I was drawn in and began to admire him, both for his concern for Angel and for what he does when he disappears. Ash will always be my favourite but they have all snuck up on me. Skye and Mitzy, especially Mitzy were so great in dealing with Angel and her advice about communicating was so perfect and Forrest was Forrest. The ending was truly lovely, but it made me want more and some tying up of loose ends.
Hearts: the Last Beat (Angel Fire #7) by Ellie Masters is a fast paced amazing, sensual, witty romance about the barriers Spike and Angel will have to face to achieve their hearts desire.
Spike is the only single member of Angel Fire who is trying to crush the feelings he has for Angel for the past year with no success as this sexy young woman is pursuing him with a vengeance. Spike knows he shouldn't have feelings for her due to the age difference and the problems it will cause with Bash and the rest of guys of Angel Fire but staying away from her is becoming more difficult. Spike's heart knows what it wants and he is drawn to her like a moth to a flame. Angel wants this sexy pierced tattooed bad boy and is doing all she can to get him to sleep with her despite some may say it's forbidden. The sexy banter and connection between these two is raw, bold, heartfelt, intense and sexy as hell. Angel is having a hard time dealing with her father Bash as they are constantly at war with each other as she doesn't now how she fits in this family as well as not knowing what she wants to do with her life. Maybe her fights with her father may work in Spikes favor. Now Spike and Angel decide they can't control the passion and desire between them and come up with a plan to be together even though Forest tries to dissuade them from seeing each other. Soon their little world is about to explode. Spike has been keeping a secret from his friends each time he has to leave at a moment's notice, Spike has been helping a select group of people who are in dire need. This selfless caring man feels that what he has been doing has no bearings on Angel Fire but something he is passionate about as well as the true meanings behind his piercings. Spike and Angel think they are fooling everyone, but the chick brigade can see right through them and when Spike has to leave once again, Angel thinks the worst and decides to follow him as she jumps to the wrong conclusion without knowing the facts, Angel runs off heartbroken and in tears when Spike sees her.
Spike is now desperate to find her knowing he should have told her the truth about the secret he kept from everyone, now he needs to get his girl back. Getting no help from Forest who refuses to help him and is at times annoying as hell he seeks help from Mitzy. When Spike learns that Mitzy knew what he has been doing, chaos erupts when Angel returns to the house attacks Spike yelling and screaming about their affair in front of their friends and Bash. When the truth comes out about Spike's secret, Angel is so upset that she didn't trust Spike and tries to step in when Bash becomes irate and attacks Spike for being with his daughter. With no help from his other bandmates Spike takes the beating he feels he deserves when Angel intervenes. When Bash tells him he is done and out of the band, Spike could care less as he tells Angel he will give it all up to have her as his wife as the love he has for her is never ending. Now they leave to start a new life, but they find they will be in for one hell of a surprise as the bond of family and brotherhood is too strong to destroy as they look towards a bright future together. You can't help but to fall in love with this sensual emotional love story between Spike and Angel. Ellie Masters, you have done an outstanding job telling this story and a perfect way to end an amazing series. This is a must read, one I highly recommend that you read the entire Angel Fire Series you will not be disappointed.
I've been looking forward to this book but I have to admit, Hearts:The Last Beat was a bittersweet story for me as I will never be ready to say goodbye to My Angel Fire Boys. Luckily the fantastic thing about this author is she loves crossing over her characters and series, so it's never really a goodbye forever, just one for now. There's a very good chance of seeing Angel Fire again, and that makes me happy.
Spike has always been an intriguing character throughout the series the highly pierced guitarist has kept his secrets close to his chest, so I've loved seeing the man underneath all the metal. He's a very private guy and likes to keep his personal life separate from the band. I liked that he had to sides Spike the Rockstar and Spike the family man.
Spike has kept his distance and his feelings for Angel to himself for over a year, but now all bets are off as he goes after the only girl he wants everything from and willing to give everything up for.
The sizzling journey between Spike and Angel drew me in, I love a good age gap taboo treat and these two gave me that and more.
Angel pushes Spike to admit his feelings and take a chance on her. They go from 0 to 100 in a heartbeat, they're all in and very intense together. Their chemistry is scorching and their connection undeniable. I loved them together.
If you're a fan of Rockstar romance stories then start this series today, it's an unforgettable, highly emotional angst filled experience.
Hints of a relationship between Spike and Angel were present in the last Hearts Insanity book, and I was not disappointed to get to read all about it.
Spike is the last bachelor standing and follows his bandmates when it comes to knowing when you've finally met "the one." Trouble is, Angel is all kinds of wrong for him, and all these wrongs make this story VERY VERY RIGHT!
Their love is considered forbidden and taboo for many reasons and Spike is well aware of everything he is risking. Thing is, his restraint runs out, the temptation becomes too much, and when Angel finally turns 18, the forbidden wall crumbles just enough for them to throw caution to the wind. She had me feeling all the butterflies of teenage love with their secret love affair.
Spike is so much more than a rock star, as you will find out. His secret road trips have a purpose that touched my heart and Ellie Masters may also raise some awareness around this issue.
To sum it up, I simply loved Hearts The Last Beat. Author Ellie Masters gives us another spectacular Angel Fire story, she deals with some real-life issues along the way, and she delivers it with steam, angst, and tenderness. Be ready to catch up with the whole cast of characters and see Forest get his first look at what it might be like raising teenagers!
My heart is breaking knowing this is the last Angel Fire book!!! When I started this series I didn't anticipate how much I would love the characters and now I don't want it to be over.
Spike is the lead guitarist for the mega band Angel Fire. He's the last bachelor standing after each of his bandmates finds their one true love and settles down. Unfortunately the one he wants is off limits.
Angel has recently discovered that her father is Bash, drummer for Angel Fire. Bash unknowingly fathered a child with his high school sweetheart who then immediately took off leaving Bash heartbroken and unknowing of the baby. Angel and Bash discover one another just as Angel's mother is dying of cancer. Angel comes to live with Bash and the rest of the Angel Fire band and family at Insanity at the age of 17.
In the previous Angel Fire books you see the beginning of the attraction between Spike and Angel but they don't act on anything until she is 18. Needless to say for a rock star having to hold back and not act on his impulses makes for a very difficult year. This is the story of how they fell in love and the fall out that comes from an older man, younger woman and a decade old friendship and band relationship.
I received an advanced reader copy for free and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
We have finally gotten to Spike's story, the last one. Spike is in love with Angel, Bash's daughter. He is respectful of her age and waits until she is 18 (a full year!) before he acts on his desires. But, Angel wants him too and doesn't want to wait. It was fun reading about how Spike, a man who got around, stays celibate for over a year, waiting for Angel to grow up. There are still problems because Forrest has figured out their secrets and made Spike promise to keep Angel at arm's length until they have learned more about each other. That plan explodes and Spike finds himself trying to find a way for the two of them to be together with out any of the band knowing. Spike also has the secret of his trips away where no one knows where he goes. That is going to bite him in the bu** as well. I enjoyed this story and I will miss reading more in this series, but I know we will catch glimpses of them in future books

Until the very last beat of my heart... And beyond...
Spike, the wild child, the permanent bachelor.... Has met his match. His obsession. Unfortunately, Spike may discover his willpower is lacking where Angel is concerned. Angel, the daughter of his friend and band mate Bash.
"Sick in the head, you are. Walk away, you must." - Yoda to Spike

Angel knows who and what she wants: she wants Spike. Mysterious and aloof, with an edge that titilates even as it excites, Spike trips all her triggers. Now... Can she convince Spike she's his One?
“Break the thread, Spike. Break the thread.” - Angel
Intense, gritty and raw, Spike and Angel's story will captivate you from the first! Laughter and tears, love and betrayal.... You are in for a non stop thrill ride!
I've been so excited, waiting for the final story in the Angle Fire Series! Spike is the last man standing in the "single" pool. It's really sad that he was struggling for a year, with something close to his heart, but not a mate he could share it with. The dual POV to this story was painful in each sharing their aloneness. Angel, in what she had gone thru in her young life, and finally a place to belong, but still feeling as the outsider. I enjoyed how a friendship was developing with Angel and a couple of the girls, but the storyline really took off for me when Mitzy had the heart to heart talk with Angel. I was in awe of Spike's private life the others knew nothing of. A great conclusion to the series, but one I'm not happy to see end. I think Author Ellie Masters needs to have "A Christmas With Angel Fire" with multiple POVs so we can all catch up on their lives! I wonder how this author feels about private message suggestions? Only one way to find out!
Loved this series and this final book. Spike is the last bachelor in the band, but he's had feelings for someone but could not act on them. It's a collision course, and you have to figure out if its going to be a head on crash that he can live with. All the things that Spike says or thinks ... "the Yoda voice", it's going to be a game-changer", the heart wants who it wants." I loved the secret part of Spike as well, what he did not share with anyone. My youngest has also done that twice as well, back when they were 18 and 20. Angel's feelings as well, "I'm the rope. He's my anchor." It was sad to see when they also looked at all the other couples and could not show them what they were feeling as well. Totally loved the final few pages. You will never be disappointed with this author and her stories. It will always be a one-click for me.
Spike, the last one to find love, or is he?! As a member of Angel Fire, Spike has lived quite the life. His bandmates have all found their true love and now has Spike found his?! There is one issue and it's a BIG one, she's already related to the band and should be off-limits, but his heart wants her anyway.
Angel has found herself with people she does not really know. Life has thrown her into "Insanity" (pun intended), both the location and craziness of the band and their families. One glimmer of hope, HIM. Oh, how she has yearned for Spike to notice her, to give her some attention, maybe even desire her as she so badly wants him.
Spike has his secrets, which only adds to the surprises within this amazing book. Will Angel, her dad, and the rest of the band/families welcome the surprises that unfold within this story?! Definitely, a must-read to find the answers.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Mindblowing, my heart is in tiny pieces, shredded like never before - This is a real rollercoaster of a ride. There are battles to go through but winning the war - Not guaranteed. There are smiles larger than the sun and there are tears. There is lust or is it love? Spikes background screams lust, but there are some real surprises in store.
Angel is Spikes forbidden love. She is the daughter of his fellow bandmate Bash. The bandmates are family, brothers and you dont "play" with your brothers daughters. The flames between them have simmered and burned ever since Angel found out who her father was and came into the lifes of the band. Now, those flames are a raging inferno that neither Spike nor Angel can ignore.
How can this series be at an end? I am totally addicted
This author has created an entire world of fabulous people who are interconnected across multiple series. The focus on the Angel Fire band members is simply phenomenal. These characters are not just who they are in the band, but we get a 360 view of them, their backstory, and their relationships.
This story has very little “music” focus in it – yet fulfills every need for a complete, emotional, and complex story. Spike and Angel have a tough road ahead; following their hearts may destroy the band.
Spike also has a secret.
A brilliant story of chosen family, loyalty, laughter and love.

The final book in the Angel Heart series was a good, quick enjoyable read. Spike and Angel had a great connection and I was rooting for them to reach their happy ending. Spike had such depth to him which was surprising and he really showed what a real hero he was. Angel I didn’t warm to as much and I feel she needed to show more of her character and personality. I also wanted to see more of her and Bash’s relationship, although I think they will be OK. Great to see Forest is still getting involved and interfering! Overall a great story and a nice ending to fantastic series, I shall miss these guys!
I can't believe this is the last Angel Fire book. I have loved each and every member of this band and their story to find the one, and it is fitting that Spike's story is the last one to be told. Spike is the member that has always been a little elusive but now we get to dive head first into his life. There is so much more to him than what we have seen throughout the series, the private selfless side that he has given to others makes him such a special person. Now, this slow burn build between Angel and Spike until the time is right is one to ignite the smallest flame but now the fire is full-blown and raging between these two and there is no stopping them. Their age-gap romance is sexy and perfect. I just hope that we will continue to see all of our favorite band members throughout other books by this author.
I've read and enjoyed this authors work before, but haven't read any books in this series, although I do have a couple of the other books that I haven't gotten around to reading yet. I was aware of some characters in this series that pop up in other series I've read. This works as a standalone, however I feel you will enjoy it better if you read the other books in the series, preferably in order. I'm going to go back and read the earlier books now. I really enjoyed reading this book, loved the characters and was easily engrossed in the fantastic storyline. The writing was fantastic and it's set within a world that's easy to lose yourself in.
It is wonderfully written with characters that come to life right off the pages! I found to be endeared by this story and I am begging for more! I cannot believe that the end is here and I look back and think wow what a wonderful ride this has been. I have enjoyed this series and gosh I hope Miss Masters has more in store with this genre because she writes it the best! Filled with bitter sweetness and wonderful renewal. I absolutely loved these characters and gosh I just cannot get enough of them! Fantastic!

The last man standing(single that is), Spike is the only member of Hearts Insanity who has not found his other half... Oh wait, yes he has... Problem ... Angel just turned 18 and is the recently discovered daughter of his bandmate Ash. All the members and their respective families live in a huge house/compound which makes it a bit of a challenge for the 2 budding lovebirds to mingle without setting off a huge explosion. Spike and Angel's feelings and their plans to discover whether their attraction is fleeting or for the long haul has kept me fully entertained. I love all of Ellie Masters works and while I have not read every book in this series, I was familiar with all the characters. Love them and the dynamics of their entwined lives. I received an arc and am posting my honest review.
There's an old 70s song titled (If Loving You is Wrong) I Don't Want to Be Right, that perfectly describes Spike and Angel. Ellie Masters finishes up the Angel Fire Rock series with a romance that could conceivably and irrevocably rip the the band and Angel Fire family apart. Spike has a whole laundry list of reasons why pursuing Angel is a terrible idea: their age difference, her relative inexperience and of course the fact that his band brothers plus Forest would tear him to shreds, literally, if they found out. Just to name a few. But the reward is worth the risk...right?
Ellie Masters is an excellent author. She writes great storylines with interesting characters. I loved Spike and Angel's story. I absolutely hate to see this series finished. Tears streamed down my face at the end of this book. Such a great ending, but yet I'm not ready to let the world of Angel Fire end. That's how invested I am in ALL the characters of the series. I love how the author has intertwined Guardian Hostage Rescue Specialists series with this series. Great individual book. Great world building!

This is one of my favorite rocker series and its always bittersweet when they come to an end, but the imagination of how they all keep moving forward and end up is so much fun. This series was so sexy, broken and had all the feels. Spike and Angel's story comes around two fold, having the trouble they each went through while coming together and steaming up the pages. I love the attraction and pull they have had. Ellie Masters always know how to bring her characters to the forefront and make you feel every detail. Great ending to such an amazing series.
Angel and Spike are two people who shouldn't have anytime common but the sparks electrify the air when these two are together. How will they keep their secret or will it tear the band apart?
Angel is just 18 and the daughter of Bash. Spike is older and been Bash's froend for years. Can Angel show her dad thay Spike is what she wants? Will the band believe Spike is serious about Angel and only wants her or will he be kicked out of the band?
I have loved this series so much and this book was just as amazing.
Omg omg just omg! Ouch who didn’t feel the pain that Spike had to go through for Angel! Yah, well let’s face it if she was my daughter, that would be my reaction too! We sure went through some miscommunication with the characters and some sticky situations! But all is fair in love and Spike will do anything and lose everything to get Angel. Sad to see this part of this series come to its ending! A must read! We freaking love you Ellie Masters!
The final installment of Ellie Masters' series --- Angel Fire Rock Stars --- PERFECT!!!!!! Excellent read!!!! I loved it. Ellie did a wonderful job with a younger woman/older (not that old) man. Well done!!!! I'm sad the series is at an end. Hopefully we will see some updates as Ellie works on her Guardian series. Fingers Crossed!!!! You can't miss with this one!!! But read the whole series to enjoy all of the characters!!! You won't regret it!!!
The final book of the series did not disappoint! Spike and Angel have some challenges when it comes to getting their relationship started. The age gap, Spike's past rock star ways and being best friends with her dad are some obstacles they have to deal with but they find their way to each other and it was really sweet to watch. Spike has some secrets that were surprising as well but in a good way. A great ending to a great series!
I’m not ready for this to be over! I know the world continues with Guardian HRS and all their Alpha presence, but it’s still too soon.
Angel is your typical 18 year old with typical 18 year old attitude and insecurities. I can’t stand her (in the beginning), but Ellie Masters writes her perfectly for who she is.
Spike is another story. I love Spike. A complete ass, but you know exactly why from the beginning. He falls hard and fast for Angel before he knows what to do about it. Everything he does is with good intentions (to a point), but makes it all worth it in the end and owns his mistakes.
