This is a secret baby/second chance romance, and this is the first book in the Texas Cattleman's Club: Heir Apparent series. I found that main characters fun and developed. The storyline/plot was good, but I did not find it super great. I also think the start of the book off slow, and I wish the pace picked up a little quicker. Without telling any spoilers, I also think the characters jump into each others bed way to fast, but overall I enjoyed it and it was a quick steamy second chance romance. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher (Harlequin) or author (Naima Simone) via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review about how I feel about this book, and I want to send a big Thank you to them for that.

Oh happy DAY! That’s what happens when you read a good book about a secret baby, and it has all the things that literally ✅ your boxes. Lawd a mercy, Naima Simone you hurt me good with this one boo. This quote alone made me hang up my hat, and call it a day!

“I’m begging for the chance to put us back together. Let me prove to you that I am the man you need. Let me give you and Ben my last name. Let me love you. I don’t need an inheritance if I have you and Ben. You’re all I need. And, baby, I do need you.”

I am all for reconciled relationships! Better bring your ice cubes 🧊 for this one🔥.

Back in the Texan’s Bed by Naima Simone: Back in the Texan’s Bed by Naima Simone is the first story in the Texas Cattleman’s Club: Heir Apparent series. It’s a secret baby trope romance with a couple who get their second chance to try again.

When Charlotte Jarrett left Royal, she left behind her parents, her job as a chef for the Edmond family, and her lover Ross Edmond. But she carried a secret – a baby that she raised on her own as Ross and his father Rusty indicated they wanted nothing to do with it. 3 years later, Charlotte returns, hoping to restart a relationship with her parents so they can get to know their grandson Ben and getting a job as a chef at Sheen, a high end restaurant owned by a black woman and run and staffed all by women.

When Ross discovers that Charlotte is back in town, he’s still nursing the betrayal of her leaving him. And finding out he has a son (that he insists he never knew about, despite what Charlotte believed) has him determined to be a full time father. Can Charlotte and Ross get over their past and find a way to a happy ever after?

I always enjoy Naima Simone’s romances and this is another for the keeper shelf! Charlotte and Ross’s history is complicated with her having worked for his family, their secret affair at the time, Rusty’s deviant antics and of course, the fact that Charlotte has a baby and that Ross is the father. That certainly fits the bill of a story full of passion, drama and intrigue! While secret baby books aren’t my go-to trope, in this author’s hands I’m willing to try anything and I’m definitely pleased with how this one all turned out.

Ross and Charlotte have a lot to overcome on the road to their happy ending and it starts with understanding their past, not being afraid of sharing their feelings and learning to trust again. I loved seeing Ross open his heart up to his son Ben. Even while he guards his feelings from Charlotte in an effort not to be hurt again (and the same can be said for Charlotte) he is clear in his affection for his son and his desire to be a good father. The sexual chemistry between Ross and Charlotte leads to some steamy scenes, and Ross is determined that both Charlotte and Ben will play a big part in his life from now on. Charlotte has kept some other secrets that she needs to share before she and Ross can move forward but when that happens, it gets them on the right path. The ending is sweet and satisfying. Naima Simone brings the heat and the drama to her latest story, and I look forward to reading more in this series!

For days now, I have been trying to read this book, but nothing is holding my attention.

Although it is written flawlessly without any grammatical or spelling errors, I failed to connect to the style.

The characters are not properly fleshed out and it's probably because of the disjointed transition.

This is a secret baby trope that basically has a man refusing to let go of something he experienced with his mother. The reader is reminded every chapter about his mother leaving, which was kind of repetitive and nauseating.

The book kind of became boring and drained my enthusiasm.

Naima Simone sets the pages on fire with a sexy, sassy, and emotionally-charged, second-chance romance...with a secret baby! Back in the Texan's Bed has everything that makes a book a page turner for me: betrayal, a strong, independent heroine, an emotionally-scarred hero, and a second chance to make things right.

I'm not always a fan of secret baby stories but Simone has approached the trope in such a way that I didn't find fault with either of the main characters. Instead, the reveal of the secret unites them against a common foe and solidified my investment in them as a couple. But the road ahead for our reunited couple is anything but smooth. That foe - and Ross's issues - make sure of it.

I really pulled for Charlotte and Ross, even though it took me some time to warm up to him. Of the two, he has the greater growth arc but those necessary changes made me love him even more by the end and deemed him worthy of Charlotte's love and trust. There's a dysfunctional family at the core of his issues and a secondary cast I hope we'll be seeing more of in this series. There are characters due a happy ending and one who I sincerely hope faces the reckoning they deserve.

If you enjoy deeply emotional stories with great dialogue, complex characters, plenty of sizzle, and hard-earned happy endings, give this one a try. I highly recommend it.

Ross Edmond is shocked to learn the only woman who he loved has given him a son. He is eager to know his child and suggests they move in together to coparent. Charlotte Jarrett, a chef, returns home after three years to take a job at the restaurant Sheen to further her career. Soon, she runs into her old love and she discovers the fire between them hasn't died. Both Ross and Charlotte rekindle their relationship though past hurt and pain still lingers. Pretty soon, they have to decide if they can have a future or if a common enemy will come between them once again.
Whew!
This is my second Harlequin read by Naima Simone. Ross struggled with his parents' rejection and I worried he would never come into his own. Fortunately, he has met the right woman in Charlotte and his son has given him the impetus to be a better man. This conflict with Ross and his parents drove a lot of the storyline and Naima Simone's talent kept me reading until I was done. This author is a whiz at writing insanely hot love scenes and brings quality to Harlequin's Desire line. I loved her use of descriptives and she has a creative flair that makes me want to read more of her work. I look forward to reading whatever she pens because I know I will not just be entertained but I'll be sucked into the story until the very end.
Fans of second chances will not be disappointed in this read. And, can I take a moment and rave about the cover? It is beautiful like most of the Desire line. Kudos to the designer!

Though this particular trope (secret baby) isn't
usually one I enjoy, the talented Naima Simone made it work for me!
This book felt realistic in some was, and a little more fictionally exaggerated in others, but the balance was great.
The second chance element of this story really worked for me. We have 2 characters who desperately care for one another. They have all the reasons in the world to be together, if only they can get out of their own way and let it happen.
Love this author, and will be reading more soon!

Naima Simone welcomes Harlequin Desire readers back to Royal, Texas, and the Texas Cattleman’s Club series with Back in the Texan’s Bed, the first book in the Heir Apparent series. Back in the Texan’s Bed is a second chance romance as well as a secret baby story. As if that wasn’t enough, there’s some serious family drama going on with lies and deceit being just the tip of the iceberg.

Russell “Ross” Edmond Jr. doesn’t believe in love. He only believes in money and power since they’ve never let him down. He still carries the hurt and anger of his mother leaving him and his sister almost two decades ago after she divorced his father. With his father being his only parent, Ross has attempted to follow in his footsteps and do as he was told and what was expected of him. That’s why Charlotte Jarrett was so special to him. She was his choice. He didn’t profess his love for her, nor did he shout from the rooftops that they were a couple. No, Charlotte was his little secret and the chef at his family home until she unexpectedly packed up and left for California, taking his heart and what little trust he had with her. After being gone for three years, Charlotte has returned to Royal. She’s now the executive chef of Royal’s newest and hottest restaurant, Sheen. She’s also the mother of a two-year-old little boy named Ben.

Ross isn’t necessarily happy to see Charlotte back in town, and he’s definitely surprised to see the little boy who looks like him. He’s equally surprised and a little upset that with just one look at Charlotte, his body reacts and wants her like no other. When Ross makes the only decision he can by claiming Ben as his son and reconnecting with Charlotte, he isn’t prepared for the road he’s about to travel down. As they say, everything is bigger in Texas, and that includes secrets and revenge.

Naima has once again written great characters with a great storyline. She’s taken the tried and true romantic tropes of secret baby and second chance and gave them her own little spin. Naima is known for writing fierce, strong, independent heroines and heroes who are alphas through and through. She’s getting extremely good at writing villains. I’m talking when their scenes are over, you feel as though you need a shower or a minute to get them out of your system. I loved watching how Charlotte and Ross dealt with their present and the secrets of their pasts. They each have serious trust issues and I loved that Naima didn’t sugar coat those issues or their feelings as though they didn’t matter. These two had to work extremely hard to be together, and I loved that she made their relationship as real as possible. Charlotte, Ross, and Ben are characters I wish had a continuing story. I would love to be privy to their lives and see how they all navigate the world. Fingers crossed that we’ll see more of them in future books in this series.

Good second chance/enemies-to-lovers story. Three years earlier, Charlotte and Ross had a secret affair. She was the personal chef for the family, and he was the oldest son. Then Charlotte quit and moved to California with no explanation. Now she is back in Royal, and she isn't alone.

As the head chef of a new restaurant, Charlotte knows meeting the patrons is part of the job. However, she didn't bargain for seeing Ross again. Ross was equally stunned to see her, and more so when he learned she had a child. With unresolved feelings over her departure three years earlier, he showed up at her home the next day to confront her. He's furious when he finds out that she has a two-year-old son that looks just like him. Harsh words are exchanged and accusations hurled, but nothing is resolved before Charlotte has to leave for work. All that changes when she shows up at his office the next day.

Ross is still coldly furious with Charlotte but is determined to play a part in Ben's life. Charlotte neatly takes the wind out the sails of his fury when she explains exactly why he never knew about Ben. I ached for Ross as he faced the truth of his father's interference. I loved his insistence on being a real father to Ben and his obvious happiness in Ben's company. I liked that Charlotte didn't keep them apart, even though she worried about Ross's commitment.

I liked the rekindling of Ross and Charlotte's relationship. Neither one was happy that their attraction was as strong as ever. Charlotte wants to protect her heart from falling for the man who broke her heart once already. Ross doesn't trust that Charlotte won't walk away from him just as she did before. The circumstances become even more complicated and volatile when Ross insists they live together so that he can get to know Ben, a situation that infuriates Ross's father. I liked that Ross stood up to Rusty despite the rather drastic consequences. There are some emotional scenes as Charlotte witnesses Ross's hurt over Rusty's attitude.

Though Ross is happier than he's ever been, his fear of Charlotte leaving again keeps him from admitting his growing feelings for her. At the same time, Charlotte's pride makes it impossible for her to be the first one to speak. Ross makes a boneheaded decision that brings back all of the pain of their past, devastating both of them all over again. It takes a blast from Ross's past to change his entire viewpoint and show him his mistakes. I loved what he did with the advice he got. A beautiful and public bit of groveling went a long way toward easing Charlotte's fears and giving her the confidence to confess her feelings.

I liked Ross's brother Asher and sister Gina though they didn't appear often. Each of them also has issues with their father, who treats them like crap. I loved their support for Ross and excitement at being uncle and aunt. Their father, Rusty, was another matter entirely. He is ruthless, selfish, arrogant, and just plain nasty.

I enjoyed the story and would have given it another star except for one thing. I have no problem with the occasional f-bomb if it is appropriate to the story. But there were 43 of them in this short book, most of them unnecessary, in my opinion. Ross is a smart man, and I'm sure he could find more creative language to use. If I were Charlotte, I'd keep a bar of soap handy, or she'll see it popping out of Ben's mouth too.

Naima Simone just achieved such a feat in making me really get behind a secret baby romance. I shouldn't be surprised. I think Naima Simone is one of the best, if not the best, writer in the Harlequin Desire category line (I haven't read enough of any other line to say). She captures the emotions of her characters so well. She writes the heat and chemistry between her leads flawlessly. These characters come alive even with their rich people problems and over the top soap opera drama at times.

Essentially, three years ago Charlotte left Ross behind and moved to California, where she had his baby. She's back in Royal now and neither of them are coping with this new reality particularly well. The chemistry between them is still there, but so is a fierce amount of anger on both of their parts. Ross's dad is a trash can of epic proportions and makes things quite difficult for Ross and Charlotte. I loved the cast of side characters in this one though, I mean, aside from Rusty. But even he is well done. I suppose you could argue he's one-dimensional, but honestly, he felt real to me.

My only complaint is that I wish the ending had been longer. I feel like that's my most frequent complaint anymore. But with the dark moment and then the reconciliation coming so quickly, I just have a few concerns about the HEA status of my new beloved characters. I think I at least needed an epilogue! But aside from this tiny quibble, I thought Back in the Texan's Bed was excellent! And it's always nice to have proof that in the hands of an extremely talented author, I really can like even tropes I hate.

Thank you to Harlequin and Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this book! I really, really enjoyed it.

Secret Baby!

Charlotte returns to home town to repair the rift with her parents and pursue her dream of becoming a top chef. Ross is heir to a fortune and everything he could want is at his finger tips, except love. When Charlotte left Royal Ross decided he was done with her and love, until she returns with his son!

This is Naima Simone’s first secret baby story and she did the damn thing! I know a lot of people don’t like this trope but when done right it’s one of my faves, and this one is done right!

Charlotte’s strength and unwillingness to bow to money and power was perfect balanced against her vulnerability when it came to Ross. The exploration of Ross’ abandonment issues helped to make his actions and feelings more understandable. Ben was so precious and I loved seeing Ben so gone for him and Charlotte. And this IS a Naima Simone book so there was lots of 🔥

I’m excited for more in this new series!

When Charlotte Jarrett worked as the head chef at his family's ranch, she had a secret affair with Ross Edmond. But as it's often the case, family interfered and she left Royal three years ago. Now she's back, with a son Ross didn't know he have. But he intend to change that as soon as he learned the news and want them to live together to co-parent Ben.

Ross is a proud man. He's been hurt before and won't let it happen again. He ask Charlotte to trust him but he doesn't trust her. At the same time, Charlotte is still keeping secrets from him. While I could understand their doubts, it might have stopped me from completely believing in their love story.

Ross and Charlotte had a difficult road

Ross and Charlotte were separate by more than their classes or professional or even the fact that she worked for his family. The separation hurt them both but in different ways. A lie created even more of a rift in their fragile relationship. Their bond was their son. He was the anchor. Ross had other issues besides loosing his favorite bed partner. He needed to make some clear decisions in his life and stick to them.

Even though they seem to be the ones that garner me the most likes, I truly don’t enjoy writing highly critical reviews because even when I don’t particularly like a book, I respect the fact that others may love it and I also respect the time and creative effort an author must have put into writing it. That said this book by new to me author Naima Simone just didn’t impress me a whole lot. It didn’t leave me searching for other books she’s written to enjoy. I’ll break down the whys for you.
Let’s start with a positive. The male lead in this story is a white guy, a very wealthy, prominent white guy Ross Evans. The female lead is a black woman Charlotte Jarrett a supremely talented head chef. Other than acknowledging the fact of their races early on in the story, race never plays a role in their story. Not even Ross’s a-hole father Rusty brings up the fact that Charlotte is black when he’s telling Ross to leave her because she’s not good enough for him.
About the only truly likable characters in the book were the female lead Charlotte Jarrett and her adorable two-year-old son Ben. But Charlotte was a fool for love. She left the male lead Ross Edmond three years ago after a year long secret affair with him because she was tired of being his dirty little secret and felt he was never going to love her and was just satisfying his lustful urges until he found his next plaything to move on to. When she returns to her hometown of Royal Texas three years later with her and Ross’s son Ben in tow she falls right back into the same trap of being in a sexual relationship with Ross even though he again won’t acknowledge his feelings for her even to himself. She acknowledged to Ross that Ben was his when he asks, but why did she agree so quickly to a DNA test if she didn’t want Ross involved in Ben’s life?
Ross’s brother and sister seemed nice enough but I wasn’t impressed that even though he told them not to be involved in his dispute with his father Rusty, they didn’t challenge their father on his behalf. I mean the man disowns Ross for refusing to disown his son after going to great lengths to hide the fact that Ross even has a son with Charlotte from him, and they just offer Ross their support and then carry on working with their sick fuck father as if nothing’s wrong? Ross’s BFF seemed like a good friend but IMHO was far too willing to overlook his father Rusty’s shortcomings to remain in his good graces.
Our male lead Ross Edmond’s only redeeming quality for most of the story was his unfailing instant love for his son Ben and his desire to be a good father. He spent most of the story denying his feelings for Charlotte because since his mommy walked out of his and his sister’s lives when she divorced his father he wasn’t going to risk his heart by loving any woman. He can’t forgive his mother for walking out on him even though he’s old enough to know how powerful his father is and how difficult he would have made her life if she remained in Royal once she divorced him. He’s still trying to win the approval of his father even though he knows his father is a manipulative, narcissist who only cares about himself and what other people including his own children can do for him. Even though Ross becomes aware of how far Rusty went to keep the knowledge of Charlotte's pregnancy from him ordering her to have an abortion, and continues to insult Charlotte, Ross is still willing to forgive his father to keep a relationship with him. Why is it Ross can’t find it in his heart to forgive his mother but he can forgive his father anything? He’s pissed at Charlotte for leaving him even though he kept their relationship a secret and never told her he loved her or that it was anymore than a sexual fling. He’s become such a chip off of the old block he thinks giving lovers expensive jewelry is a substitute for loving them and even tries to bribe Charlotte into staying with him for a year. Why am I supposed to hope Ross gets his happily ever after?
There really isn’t anything unremarkable or unpredictable about the story itself beyond the failure of the male lead to act like a decent adult human being for much of the story. There’s plenty of sex but it always seemed to be angry sex or at best with Ross treating Charlotte like she’s nothing more than a hook-up for him because he wouldn’t allow himself to admit to her or himself that she meant anything more to him. Remind me again why Charlotte can’t stay out of his bed? The father, Rusty Edmonds is a piece of work who never experiences the karma he so richly deserves in this story. I sort of hate it when the bad guy never gets what he’s got coming to him. Maybe he will in a future book but not in this one. Again, like the male lead this story isn’t without any redeeming value but you really have to dig to find it.

Naima Simone is one of the only authors that can make me read a second chance romance book, with a SECRET BABY, and enjoy it! This book was HOT and sweet, and I had a great time reading it.

Charlotte Jarrett is a chef, who used to work at the Edmond ranch. She left for a job in California, but now she's back, 3 years later, for an executive chef job at a top restaurant. 3 years ago, when she left town, she broke her own heart walking away from a man who she never thought could love her openly. Little did she know when she left that she was pregnant with his son.

Ross Edmond is used to getting what he wants. The son of a prominent business tycoon, and now a millionaire in his own right, Ross is a man everyone wants. But only for a night. His mother left him, and he was raised by his jerk of a father, and it shows. He doesn't think any woman can love him and actually STAY, which was proved again when the one woman he's ever been serious about, up and ran from him to California. He still doesn't understand what happened, and he was too proud and angry and find out. But when she returns to town, with a 2 year old son, who is clearly HIS, he cannot believe it.

There was so much pain, so many words left unsaid, misunderstandings, and meddling from outsiders, between this pair, that it was painful to watch them interact at first. Not to mention they were both so frustrated by how attracted they still were to one another, when they really only wanted to hate each other! But that spark between them was so strong, and you felt it with every interaction they had. Eventually they just couldn't fight it any more.

Some of the side characters here were great, and I wish we were seeing more of them, though it appears only 1 is a character in another author's book in this series. I especially loved Ross' siblings, and how they were there for him no matter what, even when his dad was THE. WORST. Also, their kid, Ben, was adorable too, and I loved watching, along with Charlotte, as Ross got to know him and love him.

Ultimately, this worked for me, because I found Charlotte's reasons for keeping it secret believable, and it didn't make me dislike her. That's usually my first struggle with all secret baby books. Do I believe this was a good enough reason to keep it a secret, and here the answer was definitely yes. Ross had major issues, stemming from the type of love, or lack thereof, from both his parents, and it was so sad, but also fulfilling to see him finally facing them down. Charlotte had to learn to be honest about her feelings, out loud, and to not assume things without discussing them. I really appreciated the work they both did to better themselves, separate from their relationship, though it ended up helping that too.

I definitely recommend this one for a short, steamy read, with lots of heart!

Fear and secrets can ruin relationships

With a father like Rusty, who needs enemies. Rusty Edmond, Sr. had his nerves talking about family comes first when he was the least likely person to set that example with his four marriages. He went through women like it was the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace. He was the one who really caused Charlotte Jarrett to bolt and run in the first place. His attempt to come on to her scared her to death. With her being his employee, her complaints would have caused problems that would not end well in her case. She knew that he would not approve of her relationship with his son Ross. His father took his good ole boy attitude of classism and snobbery to a whole new level.

Ross Emond had issues of abandonment when his mother divorced his father and did not look back over the years to keep a relationship with her children. When Charlotte disappeared three years ago, it just added to his issues. He was in love with Charlotte and that hurt him to his core when she left. Now that she was back, he was mad as hell with what she kept from him, only to find out that she did not keep Ben from him as he thought and his mother did not abandon him as he thought.

The author wrote a second chance story where communication was the key. Both Charlotte and Ross made assumptions about each other only to find out the real truth. They still had issues of trust with each other, still afraid that the other would leave. Ross finally got to the point that Charlotte and Ben meant more to him than trying to gain his father's acceptance and love. The story kind of ended abruptly. I would have liked to read about Ross becoming financially sound and independent of his father. We never saw any reactions of Charlotte's parents to Ross being Be's father, nor did we see any social backlash to Rusty's behavior. Even though Rusty was a powerful businessman, there had to be somebody that would call him out on his stuff. There is always one person in a small community like Royal, Texas that would do that. Anyway, at least Ross and Charlotte are getting their hard-won HEA.

Three years ago Charlotte Jarrett left her hometown of Royal, Texas after she broke up with Ross Edmond. She returns home with her young son in the hopes she can repair her relationship with her estranged parents. She’s more than stunned to come face to face with her old flame, Ross, an oil heir.

Ross has no idea why Charlotte walked away from him three years ago but when he sees her son, he knows the boy is his and he intends to be a full time father. Charlotte and Ross try to come up with an arrangement, but neither one can put their past differences behind them.

It doesn’t take long for their old feelings to resurface.

The sparks fly in this romantic, emotional story. Their love scenes are scorching hot. I fell in love with both main characters immediately. I could feel how tortured they were by their past. I couldn’t help but feel their pain. The author did a wonderful job of bringing this all to life.

It’s a fast-paced romance and family drama. We were introduced to Ross’ siblings and best friend, so I’m thinking there will be a few more books in this series.

Although the Texas Cattleman is a long-running series in the Harlequin line, this is the first book of a new sub-series. I didn’t have to read the previous series to follow this book. It’s all about Charlotte and Ross. I’m looking forward to another visit to Royal, Texas.

Back in the Texan's Bed by Naima Simone is the first in the Texas Cattleman's Club: Heir Apparent series. It is a secret-baby, second-chance story, and like everything else Ms Simone has written of late, it is absolutely stellar.

Charlotte Jarrett's a fabulous chef, and has returned to Royal, Texas, to head the kitchen at Sheen, a new restaurant in town with an incredible all-female staff. Ross Edmonds is bowled over to see her again in the flesh, considering he was devastated by her sudden departure three years ago. He's surprised not only by her return, but by who she's returned with.

I have to be up front and say that secret baby is one of my least favorite tropes--there are many ways it can go wrong, and I tend to find myself frustrated by the couple's backstory in those cases. But Naima Simone has handled storyline BEAUTIFULLY. Charlotte and Ross definitely have history to overcome, and Ross's difficult father does neither of them any favors. But these two manage to find their way back to recapturing their scorching chemistry, and to building trust and love and understanding.

Ms Simone balances the emotional highs and lows with the warmth and support of solid friendships and honest caring. I couldn't stop turning the pages, and can't wait to continue this series. I also am eager for more of Ms Simone's magical storytelling!

this was such a quick, fun, angsty, steamy, and emotional romance, and I really enjoyed it! it's second chance & single parent - two of my favorite tropes. Charlotte and Ross have so much chemistry and I really enjoyed their romance as they got to know each other and finally opened themselves up emotionally. Both of them wanted to avoid love at all cost, and... obviously it didn't work out lol. Ross is definitely a slightly arrogant very grumpy hero, and he annoyed me sometimes but I liked him overall. And Charlotte is such a badass amazing woman, she's a chef and she's really head-strong, passionate, and kind. I really recommend this if you want a quick fun romance with quite a bit of angst!

I've read this author's work before and enjoyed it, and I'm always up for a second chance romance, but I was a little bit wary of the secret baby trope. It just doesn't usually work for me because I too often end up disliking the secret keeper. However, Naima Simone approaches it a bit differently than the norm, and not only did it work, but I found myself liking this couple and rooting even harder for them once everything's out in the open. The story has a good pace, the couple has great chemistry, and the author really hit it out of the park with the secret baby trope, so I'd say this one is a definite recommended read.

Second chance romance is my absolutely favorite romance trope. I also am a fan of single parent romances. Secret baby trope, not so much. But I want to read this book because it’s part of the Texas Cattleman’s Club series taken place in a small town which I love too. I really enjoyed the story and liked the hero and heroine. I was a little confused on one thing but other than that it was a pretty solid story. And this is my first Naima Simone novel. I will definitely be reading more of her work.

Simone does what she knows best. Back in the Texan's Bed was a scandalous temptation. Ross and Charlotte set each chapter aflame with their turbulent chemistry and emotional past. Betrayal runs rampant and emotions run deep, yet it's the twists and turns that keep hearts craving more.

Enjoyable and east read.

You know you are getting a good emotional workout once Naima Simone builds the characters and plots the story.
This was an enjoyable, easy read. Loved Charlotte, Ben and Ross. I can't wait to read the other novels in this series.

Secret baby and second chance. I would have eaten this up with a spoon had the hero not been so wishy washy. I need my heroes to be there for the heroine from the word go. He was too hung up on his daddy issues to put her first and nope.
