The time lost between them meant nothing. At least not for Izea Richardson. Too many days had gone by since he’d been in her presence, witnessed her smile, and apologized for his wrongdoings. Ones he wasn’t quite sure of but wasn’t going to squander another opportunity if given one. Second chances weren’t her thing. Once you crossed her, Kyndra Clark had nothing to offer you. That’s until he’d given her a reason to forgive. In celebration of making another trip around the sun, their night of reminiscing brought upon old feelings and intense urges. Ones she wasn’t quite sure what to do with but knew only he could lure them out of her. This is a second chance love novella with a beginning, middle, and happy for now ending.
BriAnn Danae is an urban romance author and native of Kansas City, Missouri. In October 2015, she penned her first novel and since has enhanced her catalog claiming seventy titles to date. She whimsically writes Black love stories with purpose and passion, making you want to go beyond the book and look into her mind as a writer.
As the two-time 2021 Black Girls Who Write award winner for Best Black Book Series and Best Black Urban Romance and KCPCA 2023 Best Author of Kansas City, BriAnn has masterfully crafted her pen. With the talent to navigate between genres, she’s captured the hearts of her readers, making them fall hard in love with her characters. Her writing can be classified as soul-snatching, heart-yearning, chest throbbing, and downright some of the most exhilarating literature one could grace their eyes upon.
There’s a message BriAnn strives to leave with her readers. “I don’t just write to tell a story. I write to paint a picture and give a testimony.”
Imagine workin’ up the courage to tell your best friend, who you’ve been hangin’ tough with since elementary school, you’re in love with him and his response is less than reciprocal. Mortified and embarrass, Kyndra cuts off all contact with Izea, blocks him on social media, and tries to pretend that little incident never happened. Izea knows he effed up and mishandled Kyndra’s feelings and her heart. He’s been tryin’ to make it right but, with her ghosting him and his schedule as a music producer, it’s kinda hard to right his wrongs. With his 30th birthday coming up, the only gift Izea wants is his best friend back and if has to pull up on her in another state to let her know her feelings weren’t one sided then, so be it. 😉
I enjoyed reading about Kyndra and Izea. But Kyndra was wearing me out. The whole time I was reading, I’m thinking the reason they need a second chance is over the top. When it really was bad communication. I was like girl if you don’t let this man twist you like a pretzel for the rest of your life and stop playing. 🤣
If you need something quick but still satisfying to read, this one is for you
This is my first introduction to this author needless to say I am now a fan. Kyndra and Izea was one of the most realistic couples I read about in a while. We can often let fear and stubborness get in the way of our happy endings.
I loved this short sweet and to the point story. We were given background on their relationship and how things got misconstrued and how they got it back together. Izea was sweet but you can tell he has savage ways and wasn't taking no for an answer. I liked that Kyndra made him work for it but still took responsibility for her part of things once they reconnected. Symone is definitely that friend we all need that tell us when we messing up and how we should fix it. Also we have the same name so she good in my book. Love Briann as always she gives us what we didn't know we wanted!!!
A cute story of finding your way back to that one true love. Kyndra and Izea were perfect for each other. Izea was determined to right the wrong he committed towards Kyndra. Although Kyndra put a wall up to Izea and his determination, she knew she couldn't resist the man who captured her heart many years ago. No mistakes were made when these two chose to make their second chance of love worth making new memories in a new city. Really enjoyed this story and a great cameo with Cherish and Ju.
The Interlude by BriAnn Danae is about music producer Izea Richardson and editor Kyndra Clark. These two grew up together but they had a falling out. Almost 2 years later Izea returns to his hometown for his birthday and tries to rekindle with Kyndra. She is so petty 😂 but Izea is persistent! He has that BDE! Izea and Kyndra are a hot pair! This is a fun, quick read and if you like friends to lovers, you should give this a read.
The definition of a man who don’t play about meeee! I appreciated Izea’s vulnerability and hun going after his woman — no matter the chase.
Kyndra was making me mad some cuz the doubts wasn’t really warranted but I get it .. don’t want to be burned twice especially when you down bad for that fool.
I loved it tho. Short and sweet and just what I expected from Bri. A queen !
Izea and Kyndra’s story was one for the books. The love the two of them had for each other was beautiful. To separate from the live of your life from a misunderstanding then get the opportunity to make it right, is like a needle in a haystack. This is a must read. This author never disappoints and I’ll be waiting for what’s next.
Second chance love stories are the best and this is definitely one of them!!
I loved everything about this story. Both of them took too long to reunite but I'm happy that they didn't give up on a chance at real love with one another. When he came into her office with BDE, he had me saying yes daddy to him too lol
This was a good second chance at love story. I was so curious as to what Izea did to mess up his opportunity with Kyn in the past. I definitely didn’t imagine it to be what it was. Communication or lack thereof was their issue. I love that Izea made an effort to get his girl. Now I have to read about Cherish and Ju!
Yes!!! This love story had me smiling from beginning to end!!! So organic and pure, the saying goes “love something let it go if it comes back then you know” Thank you BriAnn for this love story!!!
A manly man will go to bat to get what's rightfully his! A break in between is only time for him to grow and become even more desirable! Izea Richardson wasn't playing no games with Kyndra! I loved this short read, great job Briann!
Izea was the man, fought for what he wanted and believed in. The energy was on point. Sex scenes were on point. Pick up this quick love story at rekindling old flame.
Short, sweet, to the point love story. Izea and Kyndra spent a year apart but was able to get back together with a stronger love. Their love was so dynamic. I really enjoyed the little update snippet of Ju and Cherish as well.
This love story was really cute and a quick read. Kyndra and Izea gave a second chance to their friendship which led to being more. Seeing Ju and Cherish pop up was really good to see that they’re still in a happy place. Barely any errors and story flowed well.
Forgiveness is not always easy, but necessary to move on. I loved Izea's honesty, even when he knew it may hurt Kyndra. I'm glad that she released that hurt and negative energy, so she could experience real love.
This second chance love Story gives hope to those that have lost love and hope to get it back. It shows you to never wait the opportunity to get a second chance
I eats up a second chance romance! I love them so much & this novella was no different! Kyndra & Izea spent a year apart after a miscommunication issue caused them to separate but when Izea comes into town for his birthday that flame is reignited!! Such a great, quick, and easy read.
The best songs are always too short..... that's the feeling with this book. Love the connection between the two mains. It's funny they mentions typos as an editor early on and then had typos, lol. Could've done without cousin 'nem but maybe that's another story?
I really enjoyed this love story. Kyndra and Izea had that love and basketball type of love where they were able to find their way back together. Great job yet again.
Yes! I loved this! Izea is bae. No but seriously, I loved the story line and how well written everything is. I can’t wait to catch up on more work from this author. She has gained a new reader.
