The stories you thought you knew - the loveable tales where the prince rescues the princess, good triumphs over evil, and the villains get what's coming to them? What if they got it all wrong? What if sleeping beauties lie? Or the wolf wasn't a bad guy at all. Maybe the good witch wasn't quite so good. The beast was a foe, not a friend, the one who owns the slipper wants nothing to do with the one who found it. And those innocent kids weren't quite so innocent after all. These are Retellings to Remember, stories spun with twists no one could see coming. Prepare for the unexpected.
This is a multi author anthology with stories ranging from 5-50 K and may end on a cliffhanger. Please beware before reading.
I loved the completely different way these authors took these classic tales. All of them were so fun and unique and most left you wanting even more of the story, most had a cliffhanger and the rest of the story coming out later...can't wait!!!❤
Loved all these fairytale remakes. There were some of my favorites from my childhood but these are not for kiddos with the naughty bits! All of them left me wanting for more, so I am going to need those books stat!
I am a sucker for fairy tales and fantasy; these stories do not disappoint: The Initiate - This has Gods, Fated & Rejected Mates and Mystery - Holy Hot Dam this one has the beginnings of a great steam too. Ruby Slippers Lie - So, ok we are deffinatley NOT in Kansas anymore. This is not like any retelling I have ever heard of and I loved this spin it took on a childhood favorite. Red's Revenge - Yeah, this dark tale was great. I love me a good vs evil, kick a$$ revenge tale. **This is a very dark story and has triggers** Trending - Who doesn't love a good old fashioned 3some?? Not me! Unless the couple goes bat chit crazy and turns the who world against you with lies. Again, this is a great good vs evil with a twist. Hint, the bad guys we are taught to hate aren't always what who you think they are. Curse of the Gargoyle - I love this story, this retelling Sleeping Beauty. The ending tho, I need to know what happens next. There are so many WTH cliff hangers. These little snippets into the lives of all of these wonderful characters is what I love about Anthologies; they give you a taste of what is to come.
I was happily surprised by the range of stories present in this anthology. There were classics like the Wizard of Oz or The little red riding hood, but also a mythological story and one I didn't even recognized as a pre-existing tale. Everything was well written and very original and I'm happy to say I discovered new authors that I'll be reading in the future. Even though the five short stories were very good, be warned... Some of them will leave you wanting more! Like a whole book or two more ;)
This book is filled with the classics that have a naughty spin on them. From little red riding hood, to Hansel and Gretel (Britney and Steve my bad), and then my favorite the wizard of oz twist. They are shorts so you don’t get the full story, just enough to have you throwing the kindle and stalking the authors for more. If you’re a fan of romance, but love the old school stories then this is the one for you. Another wonderful set by the BBB publishing group.
So I am a huge fan of these anthologies from BBB Publishings and this book is no different. The authors did amazing job taking classic tales and twisting & turning them until they became new stories that you don’t want to put down. A lot of the stories end on cliffhangers but the authors plan to write the rest later on. Totally worth picking this book up!! I can’t wait to read the extended versions later on!! Fantastic!! 💜🖤
Brilliant anthology. This review is for Jules Hunter: Trending. This is an interesting take of Hansel & Gretel. Lolli is just trying to live her life running her candi shop, being as sweet as she can be. While being sweet she catches the eye of the Mayor... and his wife. And life becomes way more interesting, more interesting than lolli every bargained for. This is a brilliant story.
Best re-tellings! This is a fantasitic anthology. I was reading this and thinking I will just read one more chapter, no story, nope really had trouble putting it down! Each one has a fantastic and dark twist, with romance and heat. I loved them all equally and really look forward to more. Each of these authors is just fantastic and I could not find anything I didn't like, except wanting more!
This anthology is probably my favorite because it's a new version of the fairytales we grew up listening to, because there's always two sides to each story and we have only heard one side. These authors definitely did their thing with these stories each one will have you hooked from the start. I highly recommend this anthology to everyone.
BBB publishings has done it again! These retellings are a naughty spin on your favorite classic stories. Just a little heads up, some of these do end on a cliffhangers. It's so hard to choose a favorite! I am definitely pining for more!!
I received an ARC and voluntarily gave my honest opinion and review
Great collection of new storylines that are loosely based off those you know by heart... each very well done with originality and flare... loving every bit, and very much looking forward to the continuation of some! Well done!
All of the stories were entertaining. I wasn't expecting the Wizard of Oz, and Little Red Riding Hood had an interesting twist. I look forward to the full version of each story!
I love fairytales always have and these don't disappoint. The retelling of some of your favorites is so much better in this Anthology. Just couldn't put it down till a read them all and can't wait to read more of this stories.
A fantastic anthology full of the fairytales we love with a wonderful twist! It’s so incredible to see the take these author put on stories so many have come to love through the years...I LOVE IT!
Wow. Each anthology is written so well and in a way that makes you keep reading. For me the 2 that I need more of is Ruby Slippers Lie by Sinclair Kelly and Curse of the Gargoyle by Beth Hendrix and Alexis Taylor. These two are quickly becoming two of my favourite authors. Amazing work!
This was a wonderful anthology. I love reading retellings of some of the classic fairytales and these definitely did not disappoint. All of the stories are fresh and keep you invested while reading them. A lot of them do end of cliffhangers but are planned to be finished in their own books later. I'm definitely looking forward to reading some of those!
If you love retellings, or just well done fantasy then definitely pick this up.
