I was disappointed that this book did not have a bigger focus on native species. Also, most of the care advice involves fertilizing and watering. I rarely use commercial fertilizer, and I only water my in-ground plants during a drought. I would have also liked to see propagation information for each plant. On the plus side, the large, full-color photos are useful in identifying plants, and specific pruning advice for most selections are included.
