Onyx #3

A Destiny In Sapphire

Rate this book
Destiny has been preparing me for this moment since I took my first breath. Unfortunately, if I don’t embrace the path I’ve been created for, Destiny will withdraw that breath.

I’ve traveled countless miles only to realize I had the answers all along. I battled ancient creatures, evil men, and brought magic back to the Fae realm. I have many enemies whose knives are aimed for my back.

Despite everything, I’m desperately trying to get back to my mate, my family, and my kingdom. A brutal war is coming to destroy everything I have left, and if I fail, all hope of a new world will be surrendered to an infinite age of darkness.

I just didn’t like it. This trilogy started out great, a bit of mystery and a different look on the magic of the fae. The second book descended into cliches rather quickly and the third book was just bearable.
It was predictable, again with all the cliches, everyone has a mate, it was rather anti climactic.

The conclusion! I read slowly because I did not want it to end. This book ended even better then I had hoped. There were some sad parts but the overall book was so good. I loved the storyline. I loved how you watched Sapphira grow from human to fae to shifter. She is one awesome hero! I loved her Mate Rune and I was happy to hear the inner thoughts of his werewolf. This book had it all. Twist, turns, fantastic secondary characters. I loved that even though Sapphira was taken away from her loved one she still made the best of it. I want more of the side characters I can’t wait to read their stories! I especially can not wait to see Rune and Sapphira’s daughter Desildri grow. This was such an awesome conclusion.
If you love books about Fae, Dragons, Shifters, power hunger enemies then this is definitely the book for you!!
Go get this series it is so worth it!

It was perfection. Jessica gave us a trilogy that was everything it needed to be and more. This final chapter was one I savored but as it has come to and end I am left in love.

Riveting in the most magical way, Jessica ends the series with a fantastical bang.

I loved this story as a whole. If you are reading this than you have read the previous two novels. This wraps everything up as I hoped it would. The plot stays strong and the characters are the squad we all love until the very end.

I loved how much we got of everyone in this book and we really got to know Rune and Sapphira deeply by the end of this book. I hope Jessica never stops writing in this world because I am here for all of it.

This book had its up and downs and the characters go through all the trials you would expect and a few twists you don't see coming, but its a perfect ending to the trilogy. For now.  We all can just see reming Jess that she's not done here. We want more.

This was the perfecting ending to a great series. This book was full of action, suspense, magic, and wonder! When evil comes for Sapphira and her people, she has to be the savior everyone needs. She gets some help from her friends and some new allies she has made along her journey. Somethings will be lost along the way, but can they hold on to their kingdom and the magic within it? Will they be able to topple the evil that is King Verin? If you haven’t started this series, you don’t know what you are missing!

Great binge!

I inhaled the series in two and a half days! This is the final book and I’m sad to see these characters go. My heart broke and it still hurts, but it is what it is and I just have to accept it. I’m not gonna say what happened that broke my heart because of spoilers, but know that it’s going to be OK.

I want to see more into their future and hopefully we’ll get more of them, even in snippets.

I’m definitely following this author!

I have enjoyed this entire series and this book is no exception!

It was very fast paced. So much action and adventure.

I adore Sapphira and Rune and all of their circle of friends. I enjoyed watching them grow, separately and together, and build a life and a family.

The multiple points of view was a perfect way to tell this story. Sad to see the series come to an end!

This is the perfect ending to the trilogy! So many things happening all over the realm, all leading to the epic finale.

Jessica delivered another amazing read and I look forward to the possibility of more stories from this universe.

This book was absolutely amazing! It was exactly the book I needed after how we left Sapphire at the end of book 2.

This is a great ending to the trilogy, you will laugh, cry, be excited and have so many feeling during this book. I definitely cried at more then one point, but it was all worth it in the end.

I completely love Sapphire and Rune, and this story gives a great resolution for both characters. We also get great insight to the side characters we have fallen in love with from the first two books. I love having this story told from the POV of not just the main couple, but their friends as well. It gives the story so much depth.

This series has quickly worked its way up to one of my all time favorites and I hope we get to return to Crysia someday 😉

Ugh 🤦🏻‍♀️

I was really excited about reading this book. We had finally gotten some action scenes in book 2. We left with a cliffhanger to keep us interested. Then we get book 3....

Omg 😳 the story line was AWFUL!! It could have been so good, so very good!! But the story was rushed, like I had no idea who these people were during the battle because we spent one paragraph in their home land. These different country visits could have been epic.

They ONLY part, which earned this book three stars ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ was the ending battle scene. That’s it!

Terrible writing and hurried story line equals no beuno for me. It was a hard act to finish reading the whole book, and only because I wanted it to end.

Pros:

The story picks up where we left off with a twist to what felt like a promising hopeful end (if still a cliffhanger) in book 2. The world of the fae is greatly expanded upon as more kingdoms and cultures are introduced.

The types of magic, mythical creatures and powers are portrayed interestingly and make you want to know more about them.

Cons:

I didn’t care for the multiple points of view in book two. They made more sense for part of this book but I’m sorry, when you’re differentiating between a character and their werewolf side it’s getting excessive. You can describe that without too much trouble by saying he feels out of control or that the power of the wolf surged through him.

The book feels rushed through with a few short breaks for filler fluff rather than spending time on the adventure. It’s not like in book one with the journey in the beginning.

Also, are you kidding me. Some tea and immediately from birthing to battle. I’m sorry, no matter how much magic no.

”You will never lose me. I will always, always return to you. I will always feel you, always fight to be with you. In this life, and every one after that.”

This series had such high potential with a new look on fae, but unfortunately this conclusion was pretty predictable. Book 3 felt very rushed and I wish we would have gotten to see more of the other fae kingdoms, that was such a missed opportunity!

It was a really quick read but didn’t have much in terms of high stakes. There were a couple of things that did shock me and I did tear up a few times, but overall this finale didn’t itch the scratch I hoped it would.

Emrys is still my absolute favorite 😂 his golden retriever personality just kills me and I love that him and Dris finally got their moments.

Overall I did enjoy the series, but I wish things would have gone a little deeper and had more tension or surprises.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Such an AMAZING conclusion to the Onyx trilogy. Sapphira's transformation was remarkable. She fought so bravely especially being separated from her loved ones. A truly awesome character! Rune will always hold a spot in my heart. This book brought out all of my emotions. There were so many amazing twists. This was a perfect ending of the trilogy. I hope we get to see more from the secondary characters, perhaps a young one in particular! If you're looking for a magical series with fae, werewolves, dragons, magic, and shifters then you have found it. Definitely reccomend this one!

A Destiny in Sapphire is the amazing conclusion to the Onyx Trilogy. You do have to read the first two books to know what is going on. Jessica does a great job writing this whole series and the characters. The storyline is so great and this book is full of action, suspense, and of course magic. This ending of the series was fantastic and wrapped everything up perfectly. I kind of wish I could keep reading some more of this series but I'm sure Jessica will come up with more fantastic reads. I highly recommend this series! 5 Stars for sure

Im sad that this series has ended!
This is the final book in the Onyx trilogy, the ending to Saphhira and the gangs struggles.
This book was everything i needed and so much more. It was action packed, full of suspense, and magic. The story had me feeling so many emotions. I laughed, I cried, I was happy and sad.
The story was addictive, I couldn’t put the book down I just had to find out what was going to happen.
I loved Sapphira’s progress as a character. She has developed so much with this series and it truly shows. Her and Rune’s relationship is something else. One I absolutely love.
I love the secondary characters, they are all amazing. I love the dynamic between them and the love they have for each other.
Everyone needs to read this series.

I loved this book. Jessica Florence is an auto-buy for me.
The story picks up where A Truth in Ruby left off, with Sapphira finding her way back to her mate and family to fight the big bad.
Her journey is entertaining and it was enjoyable getting to know existing characters better and meeting new friends.
The vivid scenes had my jaw on the floor and there were scenes where I was laughing, and then in shock, thinking that was the coolest freaking thing I had read in a long time. It was cool how there were multiple POV and that made it feel like you get the complete story from several angles.
There’s fae, dragons, crystals, surprise new creatures and plenty of steam 🔥🔥🔥
I really had missed Rune’s growls and possessiveness, and was glad to see Tor, Nyx, and the gang in action.
The end had me sobbing, and I don’t usually cry at books. I would recommend this for people who like books about fae, shifters 🔥, stellar world building, paranormal romance, and epic battles.

A destiny in sapphire - Spoiler free review
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

Thank you Jessica for providing me with an arc of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is book three in the onyx series and does not disappoint.

5 reasons to read this book:

⭐️Dystopian fantasy
⭐️The romance starts off in book one as enemies to lovers and progresses to fated mates
⭐️Unpredictable plot twists
⭐️Epic friendships
⭐️The world is pretty unique - dragons, fae, shapeshifters and magic.

This book was definitely an incredible ending to this series.

Any book that takes a kick ass heroine and then has her become pregnant with a “more powerful” heroine loses me 100%. Book felt rushed and forced. I don’t recommend.

A very satisfying ending to this trilogy . . . Now for the next one

This book is the culmination of the previous 2 books in this series. The fate of the realm is at stake, and our heroine, Sapphira, rises to the occasion. Regardless of her feelings or her fear, she does what needs to be done for her family, her friends and her people.

There was a bit more steam and a lot more action in this book, and the final third of the book is really exciting. I really hate when a book, or a series, is leading up to an epic bettle, and it’s over in a few pages. The final battle here was well done. I liked seeing the battle from multiple character’s POV.

This book doesn’t end on a cliffhanger per se, but you know more is to come. There’s six books in the series, and it seems to be broken up into 2 trilogies. The first 3 books is Sapphira’s story and the 2nd trilogy takes place 20+ years after the events of this book and is the story of Sapphira and Rune’s daughter. I guess she’s got her own prophecy and destiny to look forward to. I’m looking forward to it too!
