It is a terrific book, and deserves to be read by many.” –Dr. Jane Goodall " Wolf Time is a masterpiece . . . a must read story for healing our relationship with Mother Nature and all life!" -Dr. Tererai Trent When wildlife biologist Sage McAllister responds to an odd scratching noise outside her cabin door, she is stunned to find two full-grown gray wolves sitting on the deck. Surprise turns to disbelief when the wolves telepathically ask her to tell their story. Her assent triggers an extraordinary journey of time travel and shape-shifting when she merges with the wolves—experiencing the pure joy of life in the wild, as well as the terror and mortal danger posed by the darkest aspects of human nature. Through her travels, Sage witnesses the astonishing connections that exist among all beings, reunites with her own human pack, and has a chance to help humans make peace with a majestic and essential species.

Fanciful, uplifting, gorgeous, funny, and fearsome, Wolf Time will inform your understanding of our wild brothers and sisters in ways you have yet to imagine.
Reading Wolf Time is like journeying into a different world, one where the bond between human and animal is blurred, where compassion forges relationships in wild places.

This beautiful and terrifying saga of one species’ fight to survive in the face of human prejudice is told as brilliantly as a fairytale. Moritsch takes the reader first into the hearts of wolves and those who love them, and then into the bitter minds of those who hate and kill. But this story goes beyond good vs. evil. The fight for liberty and justice, for the basic right to be alive, is one we should all be able to relate to during these trying times.

This is not always an easy story to read, yet Moritsch has written it with love and understanding. Her human characters learn and grow, and her portrayal of the wolves and their society goes beyond anthropomorphic; it is an insight into a true alien culture. Whether your taste is fantasy, mythology, speculative fiction, or you just like reading about our dogs’ wild kin, Wolf Time will fulfill.

This book begins with a death. Yet it is not a mystery. It is, in part, a sad story of ongoing hatred and decimation. But much more than that, it is a celebration of an amazing species—communicative, playful, intelligent, social, and, as a top predator, a crucial part of the ecosystem. The goal of this imaginative and soulful book is both to instill appreciation for these exquisite creatures and to raise awareness of all that wolves are up against. I heartily recommend it. You will learn a lot, and your heart will grow.

Wolf Time is an important book...and a great read. It takes us on a journey that is both tragically real and hauntingly imaginative. It is TIME to confront, and stop, the continued destruction of our wilderness areas and brutal treatment of wolves. Barbara has given us a delightful portal through which to understand and reflect on the lives of wolves and our collective failure to coexist with these important apex carnivores. Most significantly, it helps us to connect with wolves as individual characters, developing a greater understanding and empathy for these sentient beings.

I find this book to be a good fictional introduction to the plight of wolves. Some of the story was a bit over the top for me, in that I didn't find it in line with a factually based story, but it didn't detract enough for me to find the story entertaining. Perhaps the book was written for a younger audience, but I think all ages can take something away from it.

If you really love wolves, you'll probably enjoy this book to some extent. But it seems more appropriate for older children and teens and those who lack basic information about wolves. Parts will be boring for those who know anything about wolves and how they've been treated by the vast majority of humans.
The writing style leaves a lot to be desired.

I loved this book. I was invested in the lives of all the characters from start to finish. The unfolding of the relationships in the human and wolf family happen naturally in due time. The magic in the world shines through this story as the wolf and human families mingle.
