Go With Grace is the fourth story, and first full-length novel, in the suspenseful Selena Bailey series. If you like thrilling twists, dark tension, and smart and driven women, then you'll love H.K. Christie's new psychological thriller series.
H. K. Christie watched horror films far too early in life. Inspired by the likes of Stephen King, Jodi Picoult, true crime podcasts, and a vivid imagination she now writes suspenseful thrillers. When not working on her latest novel, she can be found eating & drinking with friends, walking around the lakes, or playing with her favorite furry pal. She is a native and current resident of the San Francisco Bay Area.
The MARTINA MONROE series featuring Private Investigator Martina Monroe and her unofficial partner, Detective August Hirsch of the Cold Case Squad, is a nail-bing crime thriller series full of suspense. If you like high-stakes games, jaw-dropping twists, and embattled seekers struggling to do right, then you’ll love the thrilling Martina Monroe series.

A Permanent Mark is a suspenseful murder mystery featuring a grown-up Selena Bailey.
Another fantastic Selena story. All she wants is to do well in school but once again that’s not all. Mystery and suspense as well to keep you intrigued. Ready for the next book.
During Selena’s senior year of college, she’s determined to focus on her studies, obtaining her Bachelor’s and PI license all while lowkey tracking down her boyfriend's murders. When a classmate comes to her for help with stalker she reluctantly agrees after refusing multiple times. As she begins to investigate, the stalker suddenly gets dangerous, and Selena is now a target.
I think Go With Grace might be my favourite in the series, it’s also the longest of the series so far (224 pages). The story alternates between Selena and the stalkers POV which was suspenseful and downright creepy. Selena’s character development is great, she’s definitely grown up since being a senior in High School in the first book to being a senior in College in the fourth. She still has impulse control issues but, with the help of her stepmom there’s been some improvement.
Having read this series from its beginning I almost feel as if I've watched the protagonist grow up and mature to some degree. There was a definite psychological suspense element that ran through the story. The author dealt well with the difficult topic of mental health, handling it with honesty and compassion.
Selena is pushing to complete college a semester early to move into her own private investigators business. Approached by a classmate who is being stalked she finds herself the target of the obsessed student as well.
I received an arc of this book and voluntarily provided a review.
Selena wants to be a private eye. She's has lost someone she loves and hasn't made the best choices. She leans on family for advise, but she's kept on a short leash. When someone needs her help with a stalker, she's unsure what to do. She doesn't believe her friend, but learns the errors of her ways. As the story continues, you begin to understand the stalker's point of view. Only by reading the book, can you find out what happens to the three of them. It was an enjoyable read and I hope you enjoy it too. I received a free copy of this book for an honest review.
The story was alright but apart from us knowing who the stalker was it seems that it should have been obvious to Selena and Dillon as well, there were enough clues and blatant hints. There were a few different threads like the trafficking ring and Taylor's missing friend running through it as well and it does deal with Taylor's mental problems and solves the case of her missing ex friend and her abusive boyfriend who also ends up in jail so pretty much a triple hit with the trafficker locked up as well.
Selena has a wonderful empathetic heart but she is trying to be practical and put her need to graduate early and get started as a PI ahead of her heart. Dillon wants help to find out who his stalker is, however, if Selena gets caught doing it, she likely won’t get a recommendation for her license. This seems like the story of many a woman’s life. Well written mystery that most people could relate to.
I really enjoyed this action packed story. Selena has a habit of finding herself behind the eight ball. All se wants to do is finish college, get her PI license, and start her own PI business. When Dillon approaches her about a stalker, she refuses to get involved. When his stalker targets her, Selena changes her mind. This story is filled with tension and suspense that you will love. I received this book as an ARC and this is my honest review.
The series isn't bad. The reality of this series is just what it is. The start up. A young, eager, go-getter freshly graduated and ready to jump in with both feet. Maybe with a little time and experience behind her things will get better. Just needs some patience and sophistication.
Another good book by H.K.Christie. Didn't know how I would feel about this series, but it is really captures your attention. I have loved all books by this author and I will continue to read her books. She really keeps you hanging there. Never a dull moment. Highly recommend this author and this series.
the book was interesting in a college setting. The characters seem to be to portray realistic interactions that can happen in real life. In this situation you do not want the interactions to occur. Interesting life story of the characters in a college setting. It was an enjoyable read.
I have to rate this book good only because it is not my type of reading. Seems to me it is more on the level of high school or college. Good story line but had it figured out long before the investigator did.
Selena the main character is quite entertaining. Starting her own firm after graduation was her dream. How she solves her cases are very routine. Good read!
