Beautiful Historic Charleston, South Carolina filled with palm trees and antebellum mansions.Corpses everywhere. Machinegun bullet holes across walls. The city stands eerily quiet. The US Armed Forces wiped out the population and that means no R140. Having escaped the napalmed refugee island on the Molly, the Mazy and Ben-led group moves into a mansion once famous on the visitor walkabouts. Thousands of tourists came to the old city that is now occupied by millions of rats.Peter, Chris, Matt, and the others are missing somewhere in the complex river system and time is running out in the hope they are still alive.
I only gave 2 Stars because of all the misspelling and poor grammar. The back and forth by-play between the characters is something I find amusing. However, Phebe, who was such a likeable character in the 1st 2 books, has become extremely annoying and unlikeable. It was difficult for me to finish this book because of her character. Hopefully the author will kill her off in the next book. There are better and much more likeable female characters who could become more involved in the plot.
Now I have to wait for #5. Can't out if down once I start reading. Love Sully and Tyler. Of course Phebe too. These kids can't get a break but I have faith it will work out. It better..
I enjoy apocalyptic fiction. This series is scarily realistic and is very well written. I love the humor and the detail in all the books. Cannot wait to find out what happens next to all of the group.
The story took a break from zombies and managed to not miss a beat. I saw a review that gave a bad rating due to spelling and grammar. It’s true, these books aren’t edited very well, but they don’t suffer much for it. The characters are all so distinct and well written. Highly enjoyable.
Whew. What a hair raising ride! Non stop action and wonderful characters brought alive by this talented author. Can’t wait to read the next installment.
An interesting and exciting story. I enjoyed reading this book and the books in this series that came before. I look forward to reading the rest of the series.
