With golden hair and stunning green eyes, Joanna’s beauty has meant that she’s always stood out in a crowd. Up until now, the passing of her mother had been the most difficult thing that had ever happened to her, but when a terrifying trip to the hospital ends up in emergency surgery and surprise diagnosis, Joanna’s life changes forever.

Learning to live with Hermansky-Pudlak Syndrome is a challenge in and of itself, but what Joanna is truly unprepared for, is love. When the handsome genius, Dr. Nathan Midas takes an interest in her, Joanna finds herself unable to think of anything or anyone else. With a long recovery time in the hospital, the two have weeks to get to know one another and find they have more in common than either thought possible.

After being discharged, Joanna knows she will never be allowed to see Nathan again, though she’s now more in love with him than ever. Will Joanna and Nathan find their way back to each other, despite all the obstacles standing in their way? A story of forbidden love, life and death stakes, and two souls magnetically pulled together.

Nathan is a specialist in Pulmonologist who is about to lose his heart to a patient.
Joanna feels like she can’t breathe anymore, and she is taken to hospital.
What started quite well, ends up being a forbidden relationship between a doctor and his patient.
I didn’t realize this was the first book in a series of five, but I like what I read so far.

An enjoyable read. Nathan's activities seemed a little questionable throughout the story. I couldn't really feel the connection between the two characters, but I'm happy they got their HEA.

Good first instalment. Liked Nathan and Joanna together. The storyline kept me interested and the pages kept turning. Ends with a HFN. Looking forward to the next book.
