This should be a must-read book for United fans. Going through the chapters, I recalled glorious memories from the past, from the night when United "reached the promised land" in 1999 to the day when SAF led his team to the top of Europe again 9 years later.
But moreover, throughout the stories from people whom we may never meet or see in the media, John Silk brought us an interesting perspective of Sir Alex Ferguson, one of the greatest managers in the football history. The well-researched information and in-depth interviews present an endure but consistent mind which never gave up, coincidentally it is again emphasised in the new-coming documentary about SAF "Never Give In".
The book again hardened the love of United fans to their beloved manager as well as their club. It also helps explain which made this club so adorable, the way they overcame their limits, the way they stood up after defeats. The spirit made United more human, thus closer.
Throughout the words, I appreciate John Silk for his dedication to this book, which proved not only a serious writer but also a hardcore lifelong United fan.
Even the Defeats explores how Sir Alex Ferguson used setbacks and failures as opportunities for growth, motivating Manchester United to achieve some of its greatest triumphs through resilience, learning, and leadership.
