Because sometimes, one puck just isn’t enough… I’ve just experienced my first one-night stand. With two studs! I can hardly believe it. Professional hockey players Rurik and Jeff, whose caresses skated all over my body and brought it to life as no one ever has.
But when the fun’s over and I try to leave, they won’t let me. Not alone.
Hiding out in the luxurious bathroom after the most spectacular sex of my life, I listen to the two men argue over who will take me home. What’s up with this? I’d been blazingly happy with my single night of sexy sin, never expecting anything more. No expectations means no chance for heartache, right? So why am I letting Jeff seduce me all over again? With kisses and conversations and promises of another night, another friend, the next time his team’s in town…
Romantic ’n’ Super Steamy Sex with Strangers • 52,000 words • MFM ménage
A lifelong Texan, Larissa writes sexy contemporaries and steamy regencies, blending heartfelt emotion with doses of laugh-out-loud humor. Her heroes are strong men with a weakness for the right woman. Avoiding housework one word at a time ;-), Larissa adores brownies, James Bond, and all things feline. She’s been a clown, a tax analyst, and a pig castrator (!) but nothing satisfies quite like seeing the entertaining voices in her head come to life on the page. Writing around some health challenges and computer limitations, it’s a while between releases, but stick with her…she’s working on the next one.
No, seriously, this book is steamy AF with just the right amount of longing and sweetness rolled in.
This book starts right up where My Two-Stud Stand left off. After finishing up her first one-night-stand and first three-way, Carolina needs to get home. Jeff, the gentleman that he is *wink wink*, won't let her leave in an Uber, so drives her home. Good thing too because they need to get another bang in before he leaves the state.
Cue one month of Carolina missing her new F-buddies. Don't worry, they come back....kind of.
Although Jeff never really promised to return, when his hockey team is back in town, he swings by, much to Carolina's vagina's delight. But, Rurik wasn't available, so he brings another teammate, Lance. Because of course "the more the merrier".
I think the reason the whole thing works so well as like really, really good smut is that there's so much realness to the relationship between Carolina and Jeff. Don't let the extra peen fool you, these two are definitely smitten with each other and are well on their way to a HEA.
This one has an acceptable HFN ending, and I was totally looking forward to picking up "The Stud Takes a Stand" right away, but apparently it hasn't been published!
I'm so sad because these two are adorable, and I was super looking forward to them working out. Gosh darn it! It's probably been too long, but I would love if the author would come back and finish this series.
I also want to know what happens with Kathi and the office lumberjack stud.
When timid Carolina’s best friend, Kathi, suggested she go out and find herself a man to celebrate with for the weekend in recognition of her multimillion-dollar property sale, she half-heartedly gave it a try by going to a bar, by herself, and spending most of that time sitting there not stirring up any interest. But when a confident Russian ice hockey player asked why the beautiful woman was drinking alone, Rurik enticed her to his room to take care of things. And when his roommate, Jeff, walked out of the bathroom in only a towel, Carolina had an entirely new experience she would never forget.
This book picks up immediately after the memorable last line of Book 1 where Rurik asked if he should now go and invite the entire team over! Jeff convinced her he was joking (but I seriously doubt it). So Rurik said he would walk her to her car. Jeff didn’t trust him to leave the building, so he said HE would walk her to the car. They argued back and forth while she scurried into the bathroom to let them fight it out.
Apparently Jeff won since Rurik was gone. Jeff didn’t know why he felt like he did about this woman. She was so different. And she was very attracted to him, but kept thinking he was pushing her away or something. He took her down to the parking garage and they started the drive to her home. It felt like she knew him, he was not a stranger. But she vowed this was the last one-night stand she would ever have. Not because it was awful, but because it was so perfect and nothing else could ever be better than this. And she had to know for her own self-confidence why, when he hadn’t wanted to join in at first, why did he change his mind? So he told her that he saw she wasn’t trying to brag about bagging a sports hero, that she wanted HIM as a person, and this was not something she regularly did. All of that attracted him and he wanted her, even though he recognized her inexperience. The only two guys she had ever been with had been selfish and thoughtless. Her self-esteem was shot down because they made her feel ashamed of her not knowing enough. So when Jeff said she was inexperienced, she got angry. He pulled into an empty parking lot and stopped. She got mad at him, but he touched her cheek, removing a tear, and observed that someone had really done a number on her to make her feel embarrassed about her inexperience. But he cared. And he was going to get her past all this. Will she give him the chance?
This story adds another new face, but the characters once again are so likable. In this book, real feelings are starting to surface as Jeff cares enough that she is the only one he “sees”. Everything he does is to instill that self-confidence in her and start the healing process. And it heals him too. The story is not over yet, but it has surprised me and I really do care about these characters. I am looking forward to the next book as well!
I enjoyed this "Power Players Hockey" story. It's a short and sexy quick read with likable characters. In "My Two-Stud Stand" Carolina is out celebrating a big sale. A sexy Russian starts speaking to her and she cannot believe her luck. She and Rurik go to his room where his friend Jeff makes three. This second story picks up were the last one ended. This is more of Jeff and Carolina's story but you get a new face. Carolina has been hurt in the past and it really has done a number on her confidence and self esteem. Jeff really cares about her and he is trying to help her. The chemistry and hotness between them is off the charts. This is short, sweet and definitely sexy.
This was a 2.5 star that I round up. Just like the last book, there lines that were out of place, and the dialogue could use some work. The sex was boring. Honestly, the postcard and mailing of the condom scene are carried most of the weight for this rating.
I clearly like making myself miserable because I will read the third in this series that she mentioned at the end of this book when it comes out. This can be interesting if the author could keep the writing more consistent and add spice to the love scenes. Also, keep the stage like the car ride out of the book.
I read this book as part of an ARC of Her Hockey Studs.
The second book in the Power Players Hockey Series this is a series that should be read in order. i want to read the next book to find out what is going to happen. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
There is abit more plot then the 1st book, in this book Jeff is becoming more possesive of her and there are a few sweet scene but I feel the spicy scene is too tame.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Carolina and Jeff were absolutely adorable, and again, there was just enough plot to make this not JUST smut! Just like the last one, the euphemisms could get quite silly, but the spicy scenes were quite fun!! With the ending left the way it was, I DEFINITELY need the next book post-haste with more of these two (plus the added fun of an extra stud)!
