To maintain her cover and keep her family off her back, they fake a relationship.

Having spent her whole life trying to prove she’s just as capable as her three older brothers, art retrieval expert Ivy Danger has landed the biggest gig of her career, one that will pay off the mortgage of the animal shelter she owns. That is, if she doesn’t die before finishing the job. Even if she locates the stolen art, the violent gang of thieves won’t give up their million-dollar payday without a fight. She has one person she can turn to for help—Nash Harris. Security expert, her brother’s best friend…and the gorgeous man of her fantasies who treats her like a kid sister. Not that she’d do anything about her attraction anyway—not when it would screw up her family dynamic if things went sideways between them.

Now it’s impossible to tell what’s real and what’s not.

Despite having known Ivy forever, “brotherly” is the last thing Nash feels for the sexy troublemaker. She’s it for him. The One. He’s known it for a while…but convincing Ivy is another matter. When they have to fake a relationship for her current job, things shift between them. They’ve worked together before, but she’s in over her head with this latest job. But before anything can come of it, he’ll have to keep her alive when she’s targeted by a dangerous group known for violent retaliation. Nash will do whatever it takes to keep her safe, to prove she can trust him—on the job, with her life, and with her heart.

Saving Danger by Katie Reus
Red Stone Security #17. Romantic suspense. Can be read as a stand-alone. Friends to lovers and best friend’s forbidden younger sister troupes.
Ivy is a recovery specialist. She hunts down stolen items for insurance companies. Her current job is more dangerous than her usual because the theft ended in violence. Nash works for Red Stone security and will support and help Ivy in whatever is needed. He’s been in love with her for years and just wants to make sure she stays careful and safe. Ivy has been lusting after Nash for awhile too. Maybe not that she’s working in her home town of Miami, it’s time to act on that feeling.

A fast moving adventure of spy equipment and dodging or getting the better of the criminals. I love the friends to lovers troupe and the best friend's younger sister troupe because there is sexual tension usually from both sides. In this story we get the perspective from each and it’s luscious. Satisfaction is only at the end tho in this book but it’s a sweet journey.

I received a copy of this from NetGalley. I have also purchased a copy to share.

Saving Danger by Katie Reus is suspenseful and romantic, as any romantic suspense should be. However, this novel has that “something extra” with a strong heroine that comes out strong and fighting when necessary, but knows when to ask for help.

Art retrieval expert Ivy Danger works for an international insurance company and locates and retrieves stolen art. Her latest job brings her to her home town of Miami, Florida. This commission would allow her to pay off the mortgage and buy out the business partner of an animal shelter that she inherited from an aunt. But the gang that stole this painting has proven to be violent so she calls on Nash Harris, a friend for years, for help. He now works for Red Stone Security and is her brother’s best friend. Both Ivy and Nash have fantasied about the other, but neither wants to ruin their friendship.

There was a lot more character development in this book for them than I expected. Ivy and Nash are both strong and good at their jobs. Each character is well-developed and I got a good sense of what they enjoyed when they were relaxing as well as how they handled threats and what their vulnerabilities were. The supporting characters of Ivy’s family and friends as well as Nash’s friend and co-worker had the right amount of depth for their roles.

This book is exactly what you would expect from a well-written romantic suspense novel, with plenty of activities around finding the thieves and determining how to retrieve the stolen art mixed with just the right amount of friendship and romance.
The one thing that I felt was somewhat missing was a strong sense of Miami. This could have taken place in almost any city.

Steamy scenes don’t come into play until about 80 percent of the way through the book so there isn’t the instant love that so many authors overuse. Themes include threats, family, friendship, attraction, protectiveness, trust, respect, romance, and much more. There is also a theme around how families can still view someone as a reckless teenager even when they are now responsible and respected adults.

Overall, this book was suspenseful, fast-paced, and full of relationship-building. If you enjoy a mixture of romance and suspense with strong male and female characters and some action and drama, then this may be the series for you.

This exhilarating novel is the seventeenth in the Red Stone Security series, but it reads well as a standalone. There are recurring characters so there’s some continuity between the books. This is the third book that I have read by this author and I can’t wait to find out what is next in this series as well as go back and read the earlier books.

Author Collection 20 – KR Press, LLC and Katie Reus provided a complimentary digital ARC of this novel via NetGalley. This is my honest review. Opinions are mine alone and are not biased in any way. Publication date is currently set for August 24, 2021. This review was originally posted at Mystery and Suspense Magazine.

Saving Danger, book #17 in the Red Stone Security Series is a romantic suspense story that is perfectly good to be read as a stand-alone.

I have always felt that finding the right balance of romance and suspense in a story is a difficult task to achieve and there are only a handful of authors who manage to do it exceptionally. This is my first book by Katie Reus and I feel a terrible loss for not having read any previous work by this author. It was especially commendable that the heroine Ivy, is not a damsel in a distress to be rescued by the macho hero but she’s strong and capable of handling the difficulties arising out of her job. Also admirable is the fact that the hero is not so obnoxious with all that over-jealous, overprotective machoism on display. Nash is lovable with the ideal combination of assertiveness and possessiveness without it becoming aggressive.

The suspense that drives the story is thrilling with parts of the story from the thieves' POV. I loved the addition of Juan’s love story too as his presence in the tale brought out the lighter moments. The hilarious situations involving Ivy’s family were so cute and had me laughing out loud. The warmth of the sibling relationship definitely comes across but those scenes between Nash and Ivy faking a relationship had me sighing in pure bliss.

A fast-paced story with an equal measure of romance and suspense keeping the reader thoroughly entertained, I would recommend Saving Danger to all fans of this genre.

Many thanks to Net Galley, KR Press, and the author for a chance to read and review this book. All opinions are expressed voluntarily.

This had a great mix of a strong heroine who could hold her own, while still showing a vulnerability that allows for the hero to support and protect her. This also had a good mix of suspense and romance. I never felt like either was more prominent in the story. That's not always an easy balance to maintain. It made for a more exciting read while falling in love with the main couple. While you do get recurring side characters from this series, it can easily be read as a standalone. I like that because I have not read this series in order and I still feel connected to all the characters. I have enjoyed everybook I've read in this series so far and that makes me excited to read more.

Nash has wanted to be with Ivy forever, but that unwritten rule of the best friends little sister is in the way, and he's not sure if she's on board. Ivy comes to town to hopefully finish one last job and then settle down with the shelter her aunt left her. Together they work to find the bad guy, and the missing painting, and fall in love along the way. Several peeps from previous books show up to lend a hand.

I loved this book so much! I haven’t read all of the Red Stone Security series but I wasn’t lost while reading this one as there is nothing here that requires the back story from earlier in the series.

Nash and Ivy were fun to watch. They both had feelings for the other but were uncertain about acting on it. As they worked together the opportunity continued to arise giving Nash the chance to make what they were pretending to be real. I loved the way he smoothly handled it, not having a clue what Ivy was thinking. And holy brother’s best friend, he was super possessive, gorgeously protective and quietly jealous. Check boxes marked!

The private investigator who spies using drones - BBC Future

This has a lot of action and drama to it. While we know who the bad guys are going in, there is still a mystery to solve. Watching it all play out was exciting. I also loved the interactions between all the characters involved. They reminded me so much of my own family and I found them to be not only fun but cute as well.

Overall, an entertaining read with fun and engaging characters.

I’m definitely a fan of Nash- it just a pretty face!-and while I liked Ivy, her pride and stubbornness occasionally got in the way of intelligent decision making, leaving me a tad frustrated with her end goal. There was also a nice blend of romance and danger, keeping my attention until the end.

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for the complimentary ARC. All opinions provided are my own.

Katie Reus’s Saving Danger ticks off these boxes:

Brother’s best friend
A heroine who plays a bit in the gray zone
A possessive hero who becomes a bit of a bodyguard
Some fake dating
& a slow burn

Ivy Danger is an art retrieval expert who’s been tasked with tracking down a stolen painting. The thieves are also accused of murdering two people during the theft so this retrieval job—which returns her to her hometown of Miami—is more dangerous than usual.

When she arrives in town she can’t help but contact Nash Harris, an employee of Red Stone Security, her brother’s best friend, & the man she’s wildly attracted to.

Neither one of them suspects the other’s feelings but Ivy’s job—& the fake dating ruse Nash comes up with to keep her family from smothering her with questions—brings them closer together.

This is a slow burn with an enjoyable payoff. Though I question some of Ivy’s decision-making I appreciate that she & Nash work together to try to bring down the thieves.

Nash is a fun hero—his feelings of possessiveness & desire for more, his (eventual) openness with Ivy, & how he critiques her brothers for their misogyny & double standards.

Ivy’s bravery & confidence is entertaining but on the whole I didn’t swoon for their relationship—maybe because they spend so long not talking about it/not acting on it.

The flash & heat of Katie Reus’s books is always compelling but Saving Danger feels a bit superficial.

Saving Danger is a good novel with fun characters, though I felt that it could have been...more? Being seventeenth in the Red Stone series means that several past characters make appearances. Though this story works fine as a standalone, I think knowledge of the previous books and characters might be the piece that would lend more depth to this story.

The main characters, Ivy and Nash, are great. I do love a best friend's sister/big brother's best friend story. However, there wasn't much content that supported the emotions and decisions that typically accompany the trope. Mostly, we learn about their pasts in a few lines of a memory here or there, and the moment when the brothers learn about the relationship happens mostly off scene. The build-up, I think, is missing.

The relationship itself is rather fun. Ivy is a strong woman with an interesting job as a retriever of stolen art, though I wish I understood more about how she fell into that niche market. I also think the animal shelter situation--the reason that she takes this new and hopefully last contract--is glossed over when it should have had a starring role.

Nash is a perfect smitten suitor, all gruff and growly protective while also very supportive and proud of Ivy. He represents the story's tangential connection to Red Stone Security, but Red Stone's actual presence in the novel is minimal.

The suspense comes in the form of the art thieves, specifically since they are also wanted for murder. Any actual confrontation between the heroes and villains in this story is minimal and over fairly quickly.

Overall, the story is well written and fun to read. I just wanted a little more relationship development/tension and perhaps a slightly more suspenseful plot.

I received an ARC of this book from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for my honest opinion. Thanks!

Saving Danger delivers an art heist with some serious danger involved. I loved Ivy's job as an art retrieval specialist. What an interesting profession. But, her passion is the animal shelter and that made me love her even more.

Saving Danger blends a brother's best friend trope among the secrets and danger. Nash has always had a thing for Ivy, and Ivy has always had a thing for Nash. But, Ivy travels for work, and neither feels that they could make a move because of the brother. But, when Ivy gets involved in a very dangerous retrieval, Nash is not going to let her go it alone. Then the story twists to a fake relationship trope! I really enjoyed it because the characters are likable and the story is really captivating.

Fans of romantic suspense will enjoy Saving Danger and it can be a quick binge read. I love this series and Saving Danger was another winner for me.

This was a nice read to pass the time, and we enjoyed Ivy and Nash's story it was one of those slow burn kind of stories both hung up on each other yet, neither one of them wanting to make the first move until a circumstance presented itself for Nash to make his move.

We enjoyed the characters, and we found that we really loved Nash the best. Nate was a sweetheart and protective, kind, loving, funny, and looked out for Ivy from a far and always stood up for her when it came to her brothers, knowing full well what her capabilities were and how she was capable of taking care of herself. He believed in her when others doubted her, and he was her fiercest supporter and loyal to her, even though her brother Ezra was his best friend. We loved Nash's plan to make Ivy's his, it was sneaky and perfect and wicked.

Overall, we enjoyed the plot and that there were more than a few surprises that popped up. We will say that the story lacked heat and chemistry between these characters, though. We thought that Nash and Ivy were perfect for one another, and we love slow burn stories, but 40 percent into the story the couple had only kissed just dragging things out slow burn yes but, not snail pace. Not only that, but I just never felt chemistry between these characters, and that was a bummer because we really loved Nash. With that being said, we loved Ivy's overprotective brothers, we loved how resourceful Ivy was when it came to her job and her sense of humor. Thank god for Juan, (from Red Stone Security) he spiced things up in this story. The story overall was good, we just felt that the story lacked heat, other than that we loved the characters. Looking forward to the next story in this ongoing series.

Saving Danger returns us to the Red Stone Security world. Ivy Danger plans to work her last job as an insurance art retrieval expert once she finds and returns the latest stolen item. Luckily, or maybe not, this job brings her back to her hometown of Miami. That also brings her back to her long-time friend and secret crush Nash Harris, security expert at Red Stone Security.

Nash has had a crush on Ivy, but as the best friend of one of her brothers he never acknowledged or acted on his feelings. As Ivy works her case, what should be an easy, no fuss assignment becomes complicated and dangerous.

Concerned for her safety, Nash offers to help and as he and Ivy work together on this case, it allows them to spend more time together, forces them both to acknowledge their feelings for each other… and find a way to stay alive!

Ivy and Nash’s story is full of action, suspense, twists, and romance.

Saving Danger is a fun, friends-to-lovers story. And returning to the Red Stone Security world is like visiting old friends. Recommended!

This is a very entertaining series, with likable characters, amusing banter and exciting adventure. Nash Harris has left the Marines and come home to Miami, and started working at Red Stone Security, where he fits right in. He is also happy to back in Miami because his father is there as is his best female friend, Ivy Danger. He has know Ivy forever, as she is one of his best friend's baby sisters. But she is no baby any more. She has an interesting career as an art retriever, but the traveling has gotten old and she would like to settle back in Miami, but needs to do one last well paying job, to save the animal shelter that she inherited from her aunt. When Nash sees she is back in town, he takes some overdue vacation time to help her out on this case. But neither thought it would end up with their lives on the line. Spending this much time together, each realizes that they want to be more than just friends, but both are too afraid to risk their friendship and too scared to tell the other how they really feel. So it is a best friend's sister, friends to lovers, suspenseful romance, with lots of humor. Fun.

I read an ARC that I received from NetGalley.com. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.

Nash works for Red Stone Security, and Ivy, his best friend's sister, is an insurance recovery specialist. Nash and Ivy have also been friends since they were kids. Ivy is in her hometown after following suspects in a recent art heist. She runs into Nash after spying on a couple suspects, and uses him to direct attention elsewhere.

They begin working together after he is done with his case and takes time off. He does not want Ivy to get into any trouble knowing that she can take care of herself. Ivy has had fantasies about Nash for a while since she was a teenager, and he can't seem to get her out of his head.

Nash agrees to keep Ivy's secret that she is in town and why, from her family, as long as he gets to stay by her side. As they spend more time together they grow closer and he gets to see her at work for the first time in awhile. As the danger gets closer and she gets closer to recovering the stolen art, will Nash be able to protect Ivy and finally tell her how he feels?

This was a fun book about Ivy and Nash. I enjoyed watching these two fight their feelings for one another pretty much during the entire book. When they finally give in, its like a mini explosion, and I was surprised people surrounding them didn't get singed. I enjoy how each book can be read independently and has its own HEA. There was also equal amounts action and suspense that makes this book worth the read.

Playing With Fire!!!

Ivy Danger, an art retrieval expert for an international insurance company and an animal shelter owner. She was offered the biggest job in her career. She was as capable as her three older brothers, she located the stolen art but the criminals weren't ready to give up their goods without a fight.

she needed help and turned to the one person she knew would have her six no matter what. Her brother's best-friend, Nash Harris. The one man was one beautiful specimen but he only saw her as his little sister (that's what she thought).

Nash Harris, Security expert at Red Stone Security and best-friend to . in spite of knowing the Dangers for a very like time he never saw Ivy as a sister. She was the One for him, his other half, the one that complemented him.

Now she needed his help with her latest job, they had to pretend to be together in order to keep her loved ones safe. But things got a little complicated when she found herself in danger because of some retaliation from the criminals she was after.

Loved how Nash handled Ivy's brothers. He had her six no matter what. They worked so great together. After all those years of yearning for another, they finally put all their cards on the table. It was atteat to see that they had people rooting for them for a very long time.

The culprits got what was coming to them. Liked how fierce Ivy was while on the job. She was brilliant. Nash couldn't help but admire how amazingly she took care of herself in any situation.

SAVING DANGER is the 17th installment in Katie Reus's RED STONE SECURITY series. It was great to get some mentions of some previous characters from two of the author's series. Katie Reus did a magnificently awesome job. I recommend you guys to grab yourselves a copy ASAP! 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

I always like the “fake” romances that turn real. I think it’s because as the reader you already know that both characters are feeling each other, but for whatever reason they keep “pretending” that the romance is fake… until it isn’t.

Now, this fake romance was really just a way, I think for Nash to make his intentions known to Ivy. There really wasn’t a reason for it for the storyline, but that is actually what made it fun. I don’t think Nash was ever pretending and it kept Ivy on her toes which was fun to read.

Ivy and Nash both have dangerous jobs and them working together after knowing each other for so long, just solidified their partnership in more ways than one.

The story actually moved along pretty quickly even when Nash and Ivy weren’t the main characters for parts of the storyline. Thoroughly enjoyed this Red Stone addition.

I voluntarily read and reviewed and ARC of this book.

Ivy and Nash❤️

I can’t tell you in words just have wonderful it’s been to read more in the Red Stone Security series. This book focuses on Ivy and Nash. Nash is working for Red Stone and when he finishes up with a job, he takes some leave knowing it’s owed to him but also because Ivy has messaged him about a job she’s doing….and he wants to find out more and help if she needs it🤩

Suffice to say, Ivy does need some help in the form of “Nash back up” when a crew she’s hunting, for the artwork they stole, turns violent😢

A wonderful story with some great action and suspenseful moments too😉 I received an advanced copy via Netgalley and willingly leave my honest review😍

SAVING DANGER is the seventeenth instalment in Katie Reus’ contemporary, adult RED STONE SECURITY (RSS) romantic suspense series. This is former US Marine, security expert Nash Harris, and art retrieval specialist Ivy Danger’s story line. SAVING DANGER can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous instalments is revealed necessary.

Told from third person perspective SAVING DANGER follows the best friend’s sister relationship between security expert Nash Harris, and art retrieval specialist Ivy Danger. Ivy Danger’s latest assignment involves the retrieval of a priceless piece of stolen art but the thieves killed their last mark, and the hunt is on for the people involved. Hoping to avoid her family, only in town until her work is done, Ivy comes face to face with her brother’s best friend, Nash Harris, the man who stirs something deep within our story line heroine. Taking some time off from his position at Red Stone Security, Nash partners with Ivy in an effort to recover the art, and take down a killer, who is about to set their sights on Ivy and Nash. What ensues is the quick building romance and relationship between Ivy and Nash, and the potential fall-out as Ivy’s family and friends have been targeted, and Nash refuses to back down from protecting the woman with whom he is falling in love.

Ivy Danger is a strong, independent, take no prisoners kind of heroine but her latest assignment finds Ivy a little deeper than she could have ever imagined. Trying desperately to avoid her family, Ivy struggles with her attraction to Nash, an attraction that could backfire when Nash is placed in the direct line of fire. Nash Harris has been attracted to Ivy for as long as he can remember but Ivy’s job keeps her busy, and Nash refuses to cross the line with his best friend’s little sister but when Nash discovers the potential danger of Ivy’s latest assignment, our hero refuses to back down, placing himself in the direct line of fire. The $ex scenes are limited but passionate.

The colorful and energetic secondary and supporting characters include Ivy’s siblings: Sebastian and Maika, Ezra and Jordan, as well as their mother; fellow security specialist Juan, and several members at RSS; bakery owner Angel, Ivy’s best friend and art collector Genesis. There is definitely something developing between Juan and Angel. The requisite evil has many faces. Here’s hoping the author has plans for Ivy’s brothers.

SAVING DANGER is a fast paced, suspenseful and intriguing story line. The premise is edgy ; the characters are strong, flirty and spirited; the romance is seductive-the sexual tension is palpable.

This was my first Reus novel and it didn’t disappoint. I’m a total romantic suspense junkie and was really looking forward to discovering a new author in my favourite genre.

PLOT:

Ivy is a stolen arts retrieval specialist who needs to complete one more job to finally pay off the mortgage of her deceased aunt’s animal shelter. It has been her dream forever and she’s willing to accept a potentially deadly assignment to get the money.

Nash, our hero, is a Red Stone Security employee and Ivy’s brother’s best friend. He has been in love with Ivy ever since he can remember and is willing to risk everything to help her when he finds out what her latest assignment is.

As the MCs race against time to capture a priceless art, their feelings for each other cannot be kept a secret and a hot adventure awaits.

What I loved:

- Ivy. She is badass and strong. An alpha heroine that you can’t help but root for. She knows what she’s doing and she’s good at it.
- Nash. He is the perfect hero and is everything that Ivy needs. She is one lucky woman.
- Genesis. She was a strong side character and id love to know more about her and Bruno!
- The family. Ivy had a big family who adore her and the little glimpse we get makes you love them all.

What I didn’t love:

- Connections. Ivy conveniently has lots of connections who owe her favours. This made the plot seem too easy and just a little too convenient. There really wasn’t much suspense and I was never really worried for any character’s safety.

-Juan and Angel. Yes, they are lovely and cute but I’m not sure why we needed their story? It wasn’t really adding much to the key plot.

- Side characters. I know this is a book in a big series and others would love getting glimpses of previous MCs, but as a first time reader, there were too many names being dropped without further development. Again, I’m not sure about the purpose.

Overall, I enjoyed this story. It was an easy and quick read with likeable characters. It didn’t keep me at the edge of my seat or worry for the MCs, but I can live with that.

Thank you Katie and NetGalley for providing me with an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is book seventeen in The Red Stone Security Series and it is Ivy and Nash's story and omg it is a must read. Ivy is a art retrieval expert for a international insurance company and now she is in her hometown trying to retrieve a painting worth millions but the only problem is that the crew that took this painting is very dangerous and they would kill you without thinking. Ivy was getting burnt out with all the constant travelling and she wanted to complete this job and pay off the mortgage of the animal centre that her aunt left her and she can live in Miami again. Nash works for Red Stone Security and he has been in love with Ivy for years but he is also best friend's with her brother Ezra but if he thought that there might be a chance that Ivy could feel the same way he would definitely take the chance but what would happen if they didn't work out as then everything would be complicated and he would loose everything but is Nash willing to go down that road only time will tell. Danger is surrounding Ivy and Nash and he is determined to protect Ivy and keep her safe even though she is so strong and can protect herself but add the chemistry between into the mix and anything could happen. I absolutely loved this book so much and I loved how even though Nash knew Ivy could protect herself he still wanted to be by her side and help her get the painting back. I couldn't this book and as it was so addictive and kept you on the edge of your seat wondering what else would happen. Katie Reus is an amazing author and writer and she certainly knows how to keep her reader's attention right from the start and I definitely recommend you read this book and others by her and you will definitely not be disappointed.

This is book 17 in the Red Stone Security series but it can absolutely be read as a standalone! Ivy Danger is an art retrieval expert. She has landed what could be the biggest contract of her career and help her keep the animal shelter she inherited. She just has to stay alive long enough to finish the job. Especially when the gang of thieves doesn't want to give up their payday. Nash Harris is her brother's best friend and a security expert for Red Stone. He is the man of her fantasies-who always treats her like a kid sister. Brotherly is the last thing Nash feels for Ivy. He has known she was the one for him for a while but he has never acted on his feelings. But when they fake a relationship for her current job, things change between them. Now he not only has to keep her safe but convince her that they are meant to be.

I really liked this one! Not only do we get a true sense of who Nash and Ivy are-we get to see the dynamic with her family as well. Ivy is definitely a kick butt woman but she is also smart and just seemed wicked cool to me! Nash is exactly what I would expect of a security expert-alpha, protective, all while being a loving person. I liked how their story played out and they even though they have known each other for so long, they still had things to learn about each other. This wasn't an insta-love story, it truly felt like they grew into what their relationship became. The thing that slightly threw me off-I didn't quite understand how you go from being an art retriever to running an animal shelter. It didn't (and still doesn't) correlate in my mind. But that was really the only thing that threw me off. Otherwise, I loved everything else about this story! Although now I need a story about a certain side character and her bodyguard!!!

Once again, this author delivers another great addition to the Red Stone Security series. Whether you are new to the series, or a long time reader of it, you will enjoy it since each story is a stand alone. That said, I would highly recommend either reading or listening to the entire series. Each story is wonderful.
This time the story belongs to Ivy Danger and Nash Harris.
Ivy is a retrieval expert, mostly of art and artifacts. But that life is getting to her, and she’s ready to finally leave it behind, as long as she gets the money for this hopefully last job. The money will pay off the mortgage of her true love, the animal rescue her aunt started and left to her. But this job is not only dangerous, but also full of very evil individuals.
Nash Harris, a security expert with Red Stone Security, has known Ivy most of his life, as he’s best friends of one of her overly protective brothers. He’s also in love with her, something that is unbeknown to Ivy. They both value their friendship and that seems to keep them in that friendship zone. Something Nash hopes to change.
When he offers to her with her latest gig, the friendship morphs into more as does the danger.
Will they survive the thieves ? Will they be able to finally get their HEA?
This was another engaging story with a strong female character and a very alpha as well as sensitive male character.
It was fun to visit with some of the characters from previous books and I hope more stories in this series are planned.
I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

Ivy Danger is an investigator for an insurance company. Her mission is to recover stolen works of art and save her company the expense of a massive claim. She’s come home to Miami hot on the trail of a gang of thieves who have stolen a painting but considering they’ve shown that they’re not afraid to murder with two bodies left behind them, the thieves aren’t going to just hand the painting over. Her brother’s best friend and Red Stone Security operative Nash Harris, has known for a while that Ivy is the woman for him so there’s no way she’s going anywhere without him covering her back.

This is the latest book in the Red Stone Security series and I can honestly say it’s my favourite one so far. With the other books I’ve always slightly felt that the danger element of the plot was almost like an afterthought but in Saving Danger the mystery/thriller element of the plot takes centre stage right from the start. I loved the characters in this book and it’s always good to catch glimpses of characters from previous books in the background and see how they’re doing. I loved that Nash was perhaps not happy, but was still willing to follow Ivy’s lead and respected her abilities in the field to the extent that he stood up to her brothers for their slightly derogatory behaviour, albeit unintentional, towards her. There didn’t seem to be much chemistry between them but then again not everything has to be all fireworks exploding and they had been friends for years before they were lovers. All in all this is an excellent addition to the series.

Genre & Tropes : suspense romance x contempo x military hero x friends to lovers x thief plot

A sexy and tension-filled romance that I read with great pleasure !

Since I'm on vacation and supposed to be grading papers, I read way too many books and Katie Reus books are perfect to feed my devouring desire to read x)

I really loved this romance between the two childhood friends, the badass ex-military specialized in security and the pretty thief working for an insurance company to finance her animal shelter !

The plot was full of twists and turns even if I saw the end coming a bit =)

In short, a sexy and tension-filled romance that I read too quickly !

PS : I'd love a book with Genesis and Bruno !

A very good story that has Ivy Danger, an insurance adjuster or finder, and is on a case of looking for a stolen painting from Europe. Wanting to do this on her own she was not expecting Nash Harris to show up wanting to help her. He says to be her back up which at first she is okay with but him being one of her brother's best friends is not helping her much. Her case though goes well. Everything changes between them when they need to go to her family's home and he tells them that they are dating, then to top that off he tells her brothers when they leave that they have an appointment with cake tasting just to add to the joke that is going on.
What is really happening though is Ivy is in real danger and still wants to do this case by herself. She wants the money to save an animal shelter which is her true reason for doing all of this, to begin with. Nash wants to be with Ivy and is helping her and though she thinks he is joking he wants to tell her he is not. Now he must keep her safe and himself if he can really tell her all of this is not a joke but real to him.
This is a wonderful story with plenty of action, some light joking to keep from not getting too serious. Which all adds up to a very good story with very good characters. I received this book from Netgalley.com. I gave it 5 stars. Follow us at www.1Rad-readerreaveiws.com

Saving Danger is the 17th book in Katie Reus’s Red Stone Security series, but they are all written as stand-alone titles. However, this is the series that introduced me to this author, and I’ve read and loved them all. It’s one of my all-time favorite series. If you’re looking for a great romantic suspense series to binge on, I highly recommend this one! It’s a friends-to-lovers, fake relationship, brother’s best friend romantic suspense.

I loved Nash and Ivy. She’s tough, intelligent, and savvy, but she’s not afraid to take advice for her safety’s sake. Nash is a wonderful balance of alpha protector who realizes that Ivy is so much more than her family gives her credit for and intuitive enough to give her the credit she’s due. They also have chemistry in spades. While the suspense is good, I truly enjoyed watching them dance this dance and finally admit their feelings.

There’s a reason Katie Reus is one of my go-to authors for romantic suspense. She consistently delivers quality stories with wonderfully heartfelt characters and engaging and sexy suspense. I know when I pick up one of her books, I had better have a lot of free time because I will not want to put it down, and Saving Danger was no exception. As always, I’m excited for what’s next from this author!

NICUnurse’s Rating: I give Saving Danger by Katie Reus 4 out of 5 stars!
