Seven Sins MC #1

The Sacrifice

Rate this book
There was one in each generation.
Destined to leave their home, their coven, their way of life.
To fulfill the age-old treaty with the demons.
A Sacrifice.
We spoke of their fates in hushed whispers around open fires like ghost stories, conjuring tales, each more horrifying than the last.
I never thought I would become her.
The Sacrifice.
Ripped from everything I had known, thrown into a dark and uncertain world, my life in the hands of its purest evil.
Nothing could have prepared me for the truth.
Or the growing warmth I felt toward one of my captors.
But the questions remained:
What did they want from me?
What would happen to me once they took it?
What price was I willing to pay?
And what would I willing to sacrifice to hold onto a love I never saw coming?

╰┈➤ Anyone who knows me, knows how much i love JG”S books, so please don’t ask me why i have hesitated for so long to start this series….. I went into this story completely blind……. All I knew was that this was not Motorcycle club (MC)book. Or so I thought…….let’s just say that Jessica isn’t known to write paranormal romance novels…… But dang JG left me speechless on this book, i just wasn’t prepared for my own reaction

Welcome to a new world.

Lenore …. her coven hadn’t prepared her for what was to become of her once she was chosen to this generation’s Sacrifice ….. there were only hushed whispers, but nothing was really spoken out loud about the true nature of why the demons wanted the witches

He stood against everything her coven believed in, yet she couldn’t get him out of her thoughts

Until she came along Lycus didn’t care about any witches or the consequences that might happen to them….. Will Lycus jeopardize his whole crew in getting back into hell for one lone witch?

He was second-in-command only to the leader, Ace, and for centuries Lycus and his fellow demons have been trying to find hell mouth into how to get back into hell with the rest of the demons but the previous Witch is seen to be lacking Motivation and power until now... but there is risk to the witch that can find the hole and keep it open so that the demons can return to their Place of origin,

I must say that PNR stories can be somewhat hard to find a good storyline that can be Believable and not over the top. Not only did Jessica accomplish this, but she also opened the door for other chapters to this universe….. I also can’t lie to you and say that I can’t wait to see where JG will take us next. And JG never fails to surprise me with her writing skills

First thing to say about this is that, if you don’t take it too seriously and don’t look the plot holes peppered throughout the story then you can enjoy it for what it it: a short, easy to read, not too problematic paranormal romance.

Objectively, this isn’t some intricate paranormal fantasy with great world-building, subjectively it was quick and easy to read and a great little story to get me out of a slump.

If I could give this 13 stars I would.
Our girl has written the most amazing, unique and addicting book. THE STEAM. The storyline. The secondary characters. I'm utterly blown away and cannot wait for the rest of the books in this series. A MUST for PNR lovers and a must read for all JG fans and pretty much anyone who loves reading.

While this book was hot, it was missing the tenderness and the vulnerability that makes romance.... romance.

“And with the Claiming, we had grown closer in every possible way, staying up late to talk, sharing stories, secrets, hopes for our very long future together.”

Ok that’s great, but the author didn’t show any of that. So what you have left is a very sexy book but ultimate shallow and a little empty when you’re down with it.

Especially when you don’t have the MCs saying “I love you” to each other. Why make this choice? Why is this a trend in romance these dayS? I swear, more and more authors aren’t having their characters profess their love for each other and I think it’s the stupidest goddam thing in the world. If this is how the genre is gonna go, I might as well watch tacky porn. Ugh.

Safety:
No cheating
H is a previous man whore, heroine is a virgin
No OP after meeting. No ow/Om drama

Oh WOW! This book my friends is once again exactly why I love Jessica's books so much and have read all of them.
This amazing paranormal MC romance is hopefully beginning of a fascinating and very long series.
Because this book is a dream come true for all of love romance readers and has so many amazing and fascinating characters I would love to learn more about.
👹
This story starts right away middle in the action. A young woman is being prepared to become the next sacrifice. I've fallen in love with her from the first page.
She is unbelievable brave, intelligent and loyal.
Lenore is a badass sacrifice 🤭😂 or like her captors like to call her, witch.
She is nothing what they expected and they are not what she heard from the terror stories about them.
👹
Lycus is like his MC brothers not interested in humans or their feelings.
He has an agenda, a job and he does it to fulfill his obligations and just wants to go "home"...
What he didn't expect was a cheeky and stubborn witch who awakens something in him that he as a devil doesn't have and that are feelings and the urge to protect her.
👹
Witches, devils, shifters and demon hunters, all of them live in our world and wreak havoc without being noticed.
No, they don't kill people and they aren't bloodthirsty monsters either, but they play with our thoughts and our conscience.
They want our souls, so that they have someone to torment in hell afterwards. They use human weaknesses to corrupt their souls.
***
"Oh, babe, come the fuck on," he said, snorting. "Humans aren't good. If they were, the world wouldn't need me or my brothers up there. A human might be good, but as a whole, they're self-absorbed and selfish and petty and nasty. Not even for good reasons, either. Just shitty mortal pride. A need to be right. Don't place humans on a pedestal. They're not better than us."
***
Let me say one thing, after this book, your opinions about demons and shifters will definitely change 🤭
This book is scorching hot (gosh, the erotic scenes are not from this world 🤭) and unbelievable romantic in a devilish way 👹
Who thought that demons couldn't be romantic, haven't met Jessica yet.

I don't know where Jessica got the ideas, but I would love to live in her head and see all of those fantastic stories that live there.

So, that's it, I can't tell you anything more without spoiling the whole story.
This is definitely a must-read for everyone who love their books a little darker, devilish romantic, with a lot of drama, amazing humor and beautiful hot HEA.
So please read this book and you can thank me later for this demonish recommendation 😬😂

There may or may not have been some screaming & excited clapping ( in public :: don’t judge me::) when Jessica Gadziala announced that she was writing The Sacrifice.... && YA'LL! GAH! My PNR loving heart is BEYOND happy right now because this book was just EVERYTHING 🖤

"See, The Sacrifice was both a verb and a noun. An action. And a person."

From beginning to end I was completely consumed by Lenore & Lycus. Their story is so unique, dark & full of all the twists and turns and it's 100% guaranteed to make you swoon ALL over the place. Honestly, I don't want to say too much and risk giving anything away because you NEED to experience this new book world for yourself. Trust me go in blind; because ya'll this is paranormal done right! JG has once again created a book universe full of depth, witches, shifters, demons & so much more! And I will be counting down the minutes until I can dive back into this new series! SO GOOD🖤

"My heart ached for her. But it raced for myself. Because no one knew what happened to the Sacrifice once she was handed over."
The Sacrifice is the first book in the Seven Sins MC Series. It has been a while since I have picked up a Jessica Gadziala book and I was craving a different genre to dip my toe in. The story follows Lenore, a young woman destined to become the Sacrifice, fulfilling an age-old treaty with demons. This story delivers a powerful narrative about love, fate, and the cost of survival.
"All that mattered was that I was given the opportunity to experience it, to delve deeply into it, to take it for all it was worth."
In each generation, one witch is chosen to leave behind their loved ones, home, and coven to become the Sacrifice. Ripped from everything she has ever known, Lenore is thrust into a realm of darkness and uncertainty, her fate now controlled by creatures of pure evil. However, no one expected Lycus would be drawn to Lenore and he begins to question everything all because of this one little witch.
"It's not supposed to be,"
Told in dual POV, The Sacrifice is a quick read that will entertain you from the first word to the last. This read will appeal to any dystopian romance fans that are wanting to explore a very unique series with witches, demons, and a loyal MC Crew! I was very entertained and I look forward to more!

Let me start by saying that The Sacrifice was only the second PNR book I had ever read. But when it was announced that Jessica Gadziala, one of my favorite authors, was dropping one, I didn’t hesitate to read whatever she had in store for us. And let me tell you, I am glad I did. This book did not disappoint. Then again, I expect nothing less than the magically crafted gem that is this book to come straight from the talent mind of Jessica, and onto my kindle, leaving me to wonder why I waited this long to read a trope I am now obsessed with. The Sacrifice has it all... demons, witches and shifters. To top it off, they ride motorcycles. Who would have thought that me, a PNR skeptic, would be swooning over a motorcycle riding demon. Now, throw in the suspense, the twists and turns and you have yourself a page turning, edge of your seat, epic story. I love Lycus and Lenore’s journey and HOPE Jessica will one day give us more. (Hint: Minos and Ace 😉)

From the brilliant mind of Jessica Gadziala comes a new paranormal story with Witches, Demons, Shifters and a Demon hunters oh my.

A unique story that on the outside looks like a clear cut good (witch) vs evil (demon). But oh its so much more and even a good person has a little evil in them and a bad person some good in them. And as if these forked tongued demons weren't sexy enough they are also a MC biker club.

I really enjoyed this world and all the characters we were introduced to and really hope we get more stories cause there are many more to tell..

HOLY. SHIT. YALLLLLLL THIS WAS IT!!!!

tropes👇👇
-paranormal
-MC romance
-witch covens
-demons on earth
-captive-captor
-fated mates (ish)

I’M SCREAMING. THIS WAS SO GOOD!!!! first up the combination of all of these tropes was perfection. add the fact that they didn’t like each other? and the fated mates ish part of it?! I’M IN LOVEEEE

everything about this book was so good. it’s shorter, but it fits the story well. while i do love the longer books, it was kinda the perfect length. the side characters have me so intrigued! also i have never read a book with shape shifting so that was interesting. definitely not super heavy on the MC, but no less amazing.
i’m literally obsessed, might be a fav of 2022

WOW! This story is so different than what I thought it would be going in. I literally didn't move once while reading this book! Jessica has once again started what I am looking forward to be a completely bewitching series (and hopefully a few spin offs). Let's just all agree that demons are SEXY! This is a paranormal romance done right! The writing is simple a 'pull you in never turn away' kinda writing. The story itself is full of heart and darkness that Jesssica Gadziala does so well. Are you ready for it to begin and never want it to end?

One witch is taken from the coven each generation, and given to the demons. No one knows what happens to them. Lenore isn’t treated great, but not terribly either. The demons have formed a motorcycle club to help blend in while stuck on earth, and we get dual pov’s between Lenore and Ly, the demon she falls in love with. I found the demon versus witch nature to be fascinating, I loved seeing the different nuances in writing Jessica used for this paranormal book, and I loved the possessive, if confused, attitude they had towards each other right away.

I have never really been into PNR, very few really catch my attention.
That being said I LOVE THIS BOOK! I never thought I'd fall for a demon with protective wings but here I am! This book hit all the marks and more! Witches, Demons and more!

I don't want to give anything away, it is all too good. Just know that Lenore is the witch and Lycus is the demon and the story IS. FREAKING. AMAZING 👏 👏👏

Absolutely Phenomenal! This paranormal romance is HOT! The demon MC and the witch makes for a fun, action filled romance. Lenore and Ly are not your average couple, but they work like a dream. And the other demons add to the funny. I could not put this down. This is going to be a series you don’t want to miss!

PNR - A different genre from JG but no less awesome from her other books. If you haven't JG and don't know how perfectly imperfect and awesome she is then you definitely need to read any of your books. The character build up and interactions are perfect. Lycus is a great H and Lenore is the perfect h for this story. I'm going to need more of this type of story from JG and hope to see Minos, Ace and Red's story.

Jessica is AMAZING! To start let me say this isn’t my typical genre. I rarely read paranormal so five stars is high praise for me as this is all new! I loved this book. I don’t wanna spoil A THING so let me say it was unique, sexy and a fun ride. Even if this isn’t your normal genre like me I’d highly recommend reading. It has an undercurrent if realness that makes it all believable. Five stars⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I really enjoyed this story, it had a nice mix of supernaturals, MC vibes and of course, romance. I am so glad that I picked this one from Paulette's shelf, it is genuinely a cute little story.

Lenore is one of those FMC's, who is a bit rebellious at heart and her coven has zero tolerance for such behaviour. As she becomes the next sacrifice, she braces herself for the unknown that awaits her. Lycus has one mission, get the job done and go home. However, as the feisty new witch becomes his new assignment his perspective starts to change. Lenore is not simply yet another lost cause, but an individual, who makes him experience something he has never had before- care, devotion and protectiveness over another.
The romance develops later, but what starts as instant attraction, hesitation and resistance turns into a solid bond.

The author has done a good job at portraying this new world of demons, shifters, slayers and witches where complicated relations take place. I am looking forward to the next book in the series as It am curious to see what the other MC members' journey shall be.

We are all aware I'm a total PNR hoe. Pnr is my first love and what made me fall in love with books all together so when Jessica told us she was giving us this book... oh you better believe I was salivating at the bit to get my greedy paws on it.

SHE DID NOT DISAPPOINT. Jessica has never let me down with her stories but this one? It's my fav. Period. I love me so many of her books but this one is it.

Lenore didn't choose to be the sacrifice but unfortunately for her, what she wanted didn't matter it was just how it goes. She's the chosen one of her generation who has to face the unknown on her own and all because they assumed she was a weak witch, easily disposable. Welp, assumptions are for assholes and let's just say she's a whole lot of unexpected. Especially when she's sad. I loved Lenore as a character. She was terrified and yet she was brave and despite her situation she was loyal even when they maybe didn't deserve her loyalty. I adored her little sassy moments of confidence and her growth in learning the world around her. It was fascinating to read her excitement and her innocence in the corrupt world she found herself in. I loved that she stayed true to herself through it all and whilst she grew and evolved she still held strong to her beliefs. She's all things sweet with a smidge of rebellious.

Lycus is a cranky arrogant asshole that I could not get enough of. I'm a sucker for a hero that borders the line of love/hate and he is definitely one of those. Especially at the beginning. He is what he is and he doesn't like change so you can imagine just how pissed he is when this tiny female comes along quite literally raining on his parade on the daily and recking havoc on his emotions. I mean your not supposed to want the enemy right. I was in immediate lust with his growly attitude and overbearing dominance in all the best way and he just kept getting better. He begrudgingly softens to Lenore's sweet rebellious nature and I was here for it. Nothing like watching the bid bad wolf fall hard.

Lenore and Lycus are most definitely not ok with either attraction at first. It's a bumpy road of crazy chemistry and a undeniable connection but it's interwoven in a sweet opposites attract forbidden love that I just couldn't get enough of. They didn't have it easy and there was a lot to work out between but their journey was about perfect. Lycus built Lenore up and showed her a world she didn't know existed whilst Lenore softened Lycus in a way no one else could. They are it for eachother even though they didn't know that fact themselves and I loved reading their journey and their fight to HEA.

This world, the whole concept of it just gave me life. The world is unique and interesting and fascinating all at once. It's also all kinds of dark, brooding and sensual with hints of so much more to come. I laughed (even when I shouldn't have). I waited in suspense wondering what was coming next and shook at revelations. It's action packed, unpredictable and all consuming with so much steam you're going to need to take a breather... or 6. The world building here is just everything and every part of this story demands you attention whole heartedly. And let's not forget the characters... the funny relationships between them all. The bickering and banter and the unwanted affection they all share but will never admit is both sweet and hilarious. It really is one big dysfunctional family getting up to all kinds of corrupt shenanigans. Some may say they're devilish actions are sinful.
I'm all kinds of curious and greedy because I want them all. NEED THEM ALL.

Jessica did something real special here and I'm never going to be accept it if this series isn't a huge hit because this book is fucking fantastic and I NEED MORE. Seriously though as far as pnr goes this really is a phenomenal story. The characters are multidimensional and all have their own unique quirks that make you curious to know their damage. The story has a little of everything to keep you on your toes and there really is never a dull moment. Gurrrrrrl. Queeen. You were born to right this magical world and I can't wait to see what comes next.

Have you ever picked up a glass of soda, taken a huge gulp thinking it was root beer, only to find out once it hit your taste buds that it was really Coca-Cola all along? I went into this story 100% expecting one thing and had my mind blown right into another dimension.

I’m so excited for this book’s potential to take us traveling into a whole new world of demons and their hunters, nature loving covens of female legacy witches, and shifters just trying to escape their own problems. I’d happily dance naked in the moonlight to ensure this new book evolves into a series that goes on forever.

description

Jessica even slapped some MC cuts on these characters to take it from new and exciting paranormal to dark and dangerous that’s just familiar enough to entice the fan of MC novels.

For the sake of not setting expectations traveling in the wrong direction or give away anything that could spoil your experience, I’ll leave much of this review bare bones. Like Christmas, you’ll just have to unwrap it yourself to get to the good stuff.

description

Lenore is sheltered in a way that reminded me of an M. Night Shyamalan movie (I know, weird comparison but The Village came to mind). Something so foreign and yet believable for the world today. JG wrote her, and her coven, in a way that is mind boggling to our stuck-to-our-cell-phone ways and I couldn’t get enough of it.

description

Lycus was ever bit the demon I needed but again, not at all what I expected. The whole concept of the reason the demons are here under the guise of an MC made SO much sense and even softened you to their perspective. Basically this whole dang book made a pause to think about things differently than I did before.

description

As with any Gadziala book, we get plenty of characters so fleshed out even from the sidelines that we beg for more. It’s wrong to say I’m praying for more when the subject is hell-spawn but it’s the truth. I can’t wait to see where this ride takes us, even if it’s to the pit of Hell and back again.

Jessica has written a very unique paranormal treat for us just in time for Halloween. I am a sucker for PNR I feel that not enough authors take a chance with it. Jessica definitely draws you into The Sacrifice from the very first pages.

Lenore lives in a coven of witches. They live totally off the grid and detached from the modern necessities that most take for granted. Growing up they were always told about The Chosen one. Sort of a tale to keep them from misbehaving. The coven has to sacrifice on of their own to the demons. Once they were chosen they had to follow through no matter how afraid or sad they were about leaving their loved ones and coven behind. Lenore and her mother are told that she is the chosen one. Though Lenore's sad to leave her mother and her coven she is sort of resigned to her fate.

Lycus and his brethren of demons have been accepting a Chosen one from the witch Coven for a very long time. This time is no different as they accept Lenore into their home. They keep her like all those before in the basement of their very modern home. Lycus, Ace, Drex and Seven are the names of these insanely gorgeous demons. Jessica goes in to great detail to describe these men and OMG! (Fans my self) I almost want to volunteer as tribute. The demons have a very specific need from Lenore just as they did with the previous chosen one.

There was just one problem. What do the do when Lenore and Lycus start to fall for each other and how will that affect their plans. Plans that they have spent a lot of time researching and searching for. I am not going to give their plans away I want to leave some suprises for the readers.

This was such an amazing start to a new PNR series. I really, really hope everyone everyone loves this book as much as me. I need more from this series. Witches and hot Demons guys what is not to love. A definite five star perfect Halloween read!

Hadn't read a book of Jessica Gadziala in a while (for me, her stories started to become 'more of the same'; repetitive and nothing new or unique). However, when I saw the teasers for this book, it looked so good that I just could not pass it up. And I am sooo glad I've read this book..... I absolutely LOVED it!! 😍😍😍
Witches and motorcycle riding Demons & Shifters... suspense, smexyness, twists & turns; an absolute page turner!
I really hope more stories will follow!!!

The blurb to this book had me so intrigued: I love witches, I love biker romances and Jessica Gadziala is one of my favorite authors. So when I first started reading It I could not put it down.

Lenore is a strong-willed witch who hasn’t made as much effort in her studies, thus deeming her the least valuable to her coven and making her this generation’s sacrifice. She is sent to the demons of Seven Sins MC as their treaty says, where she meets the demon Lycus. Lenore and Lycus are drawn together, despite it going against both their natures, but it isn’t somthing they can -or want to- fight.

In a universe where demons walk the earth, witches control the weather, shapeshifters roam the forests and demon slayers hunt, I am excited to see how this series will continue. (*Crossing my fingers that Minos and Daemon get their own books*)

Highly recommend to anyone who likes Paranormal Romances (PNR) or if new to the genre but has enjoyed Gadzialas other books.

One click this series now! I just finished this amazing start to a new unique genre for JZ! If your a PNR fan or new to exploring the super-natural this book is for you! I was so pleasantly surprised for something new and unique Jessica and read every single one of her books as soon as they come out. I was jumping for joy to get my hands on this ARC!
This story starts in an all female secluded society (coven) where each generation there is a tribute, this tribute is sent to satisfy a treaty with the demons. The demons happen to be a Motorcycle club. So just think beautiful, young, brave female who is picked up by the sexy, hot demon who struggles to stay on track and do just his job.
This book left me wanting more if this couple along with several other of the supporting characters and themes.

I thoroughly enjoyed this one! Completely different from any of the other Jessica Gadziala books I've read, but it combined several things that I love into one book - paranormal, shifters, and MCs. But it's beautifully done with the same story telling style as she uses with all of her other books. I love the world that was created and can't wait to read more from this world!

What I love about her books is that she doesn't overpower you with details on everything so that you don't get lost or bored while reading in the volume of things thrown your way, but you get enough to follow the story and the world and understand the characters and where they come from, but it's not overwhelming or overpowering for the story.

Seriously can not wait for the next book!

Wow this is a totally different direction than this author has ever gone before. Same greatness we know and love.

Witches, Demons, and Shifters make this a superb paranormal adventure.

Lenore is a witch and she is the Sacrifice of her generation.

I had always been a headstrong child. I was a girl with far too many opinions, and far too few inhibitions. I was always running when told to walk, singing when I was told to be silent, proud when I was told to be humble.

Lucus is a Demon and when they come together sparks fly!!

Lots of other characters for future books. Love it!!
