Constance Barker lives in the Midwest with her husband and two Akitas where she can look out from her screened porch onto a wooded area brimming with activity. Since she was a young girl she read mysteries, often given to her by her grandmother. Answers are revealed. I hope this isn’t the last we’ll hear about Thea and the town.
After hearing that the Sorcerer might be responsible for her parent’s disappearance, Thea and Blaine have been trying to find out who it is. When a woman with a young child disappears, Thea learns about a secret society in town that the woman belonged to, who want to reveal witches and shifters to the mundanes. And her disappearance might be because of being in this group. And Thea learns her parents were two of the founding members and they disappeared almost thirty years ago. The more she and Blaine look into the group and the Sorcerer the more it all leads back to Thea’s family. Is the Sorcerer back or did he never leave? Will this postpone Thea and Blain’s wedding? Thea and Blaine are preparing for their wedding, when another young woman disappears, leaving a son behind. Looks like the same type of occurrence that took her parents thirty years ago. With the help of her granny - until she disappears as well - and Sybil, her cat familiar, Thea and her friends try to figure out who has been behind this issue for so long. Twists and turns keep the action steadily moving on and a showdown answers a lot of the questions we have had over the series of books. Major transitions happen in the last couple of chapters and things get better in this small town. Loved the ending.

Wow! This last book in the series is the culmination that has both the worst and the best things possible happening to Thea, Blaine, her family, and her town. Everything that has happened in the series is resolved, proving Thea is a very powerful witch. I thoroughly enjoyed learning about the magical community within the community, and learning along with Thea who could be trusted. Lots of surprises and resolutions make this a wonderfully satisfying conclusion to an excellent series. So good, and I am sorry it's the end.

Thea and Blaine face some explosive interruptions to their wedding planning

A disappearing mom is revealed to be another witch. When Thea intervenes in the investigation, things get even more intense

Thea is torn between sharing the same perspectives her parents were rumored to have held, and the dangers that her community might face if mundanes respond negatively or violently to a revelation of magic

Conflicts, drama, action, community and family are at steak

Omg, I am shocked with the information that came out in this book! I feel as blindsided as Thea was! This was such an emotional ride. With Thea preparing for the wedding and the reliving what she went through when she lost her parents. So much was brought to light. Pippa and Jesse brought light hearted fun to the story with Pippa’s excitement in helping plan the wedding. The surprise guests at the end was great!

A missing mom, Granny ends up missing and what really happened to Thea's parents will keep you reading this book. I loved the ending of this book and I was not really too shocked by who the Sorcerer was. Great book!!

When Thea learns that an 8 year old has been left alone after his mother disappears, she knows that there is trouble ahead. The missing woman was part of a magical rebel group. They may be the reason she went missing. She was also being bothered by a debt collector due to the huge debt her husband left her with and he's very demanding and starting to get ugly.

Thea and Blaine's wedding is coming up. But before that happens Blaine tells Thea about a missing mother whose child is left behind. Thea knows this can not continue, so she 'looks into it'. But then her own grandmother becomes missing also. What is going on? Does it have anything to do with her own missing parents? If so, how and why do this now? Fun read while series

Fast fun read. Absolute power, even with the best of intentions, can easily ruin and corrupt anyone and everything. Very few people can handle it. Thank you for the reminder.

Wow. Thea is incredibly powerful. She really shouldn’t doubt herself at all. I didn’t anticipate that ending at all but am super happy about the outcome. I wonder if Thea will find out who the man in the purple cloak is. I love this series!

Thea cannot accept that Marie would leave her 8 yr old son Danny with no explanation whatsoever and just disappear. If anything, this smacks of her own parents' disappearance and her feelings of abandonment for years and years and she was not about to accept that this was OK. Determined to find Marie or at least find out what happened, Thea went full steam ahead, but somehow, this was more than she had bargained for.

Unexpected, for sure. I have loved this series and have devoured each book as it came along and although it is a very satisfying ending to the series, I have mixed feelings - sad that it is the end, and sad at how it ended in some ways too, but happy to had all the loose ends timed up well.
