Overall, a fun series. Interesting characters, fun plot, good (almost really good) writing style, and decent world builder.
What didn't work for me was all the sex (yeah yeah, don't get out of your chair yet).
The issue, when you have 40% of the book filled with sex scenes, is that it gets damn boring. I mean, in 300 pages, 100 pages only of really detailed descriptions... That's a bit much for me. I ended up skipping a lot of pages in the last 3 books.
Still, the series was fun and worth a read. I really enjoyed the author, style, plot, characters.
Actual rating 4.5 Talk about ripping ones heart out!! . This series has been an incredible ride! From the highs, the lows, to the emotionally intense and action packed scenes, this has it all. . It all came to a head for our heroes in this book and I gotta say I loved it. That one scene ripped me apart while I almost lost my shit completely with another and I was captivated and enthralled the entire way through. . One thing I didn’t understand and something I didn’t get the answer to was when they found one of the traitors and were trying to get info out of him, why didn’t Remy use her shadow Walker power and get the info from his mind anyway? I guess we will never know but it’s a question that will plague me no doubt. . It was great seeing all the Guys together as a unit. I loved the overall growth from all of the characters and I’m curious as heck to see if Sloane will grace us with a spin off for Fallon because I’d love to see how her journey ends, but other wise absolutely love the characters. I liked how even with the amount of growth Remy went through she still had moments of reverting to how she was in the times where she didn’t think about consequences and just acted. It showed the reality of her growth, that yes she’s grown but she’s still human and her emotions rule her sometimes like a humans would and I liked that. She was true to herself from beginning to end. . This plot has been a hell of a ride and I’ve loved the surprises and twists throughout. I also love Sloans pace in her story telling. She really takes the time to play out scenes and go where it takes her as opposed to glossing over them and forgetting certain aspects altogether. The battle scene, I love. It was emotional, tense and had me sitting at the edge of my seat the entire time I couldn’t get enough. . If your looking for a roller coaster, adventurous action packed PNR reverse harem then this series is for you. This was an epic conclusion and Sloan did the story justice by giving the characters the end they deserved.
A Crown of Pride and Ruin I really enjoyed The Shadow Walkers! Were there some things that were predictable.....yes. But still, I loved the books. I read them all in just a few short days. I shed some tears in A Crown of Pride and Ruin and it's not often a paranormal can make me cry. But there was a HEA and I was very happy about that. I will definitely search out more books by this author!
This is an epic conclusion to a breathtaking series that I loved from book one, the characters have everything from humour to alphas and all are kick-ass and you won't be able to resist loving them, the plot is spectacular and will keep you pulled in from the very beginning. I cant wait to see what comes next from the author.
“This, this right here is what we're fighting for. And it's definitely worth dying for, to keep that laughter alive.”
I forgot how much parts of this book absolutely gutted me the first time I read it. And just like all the other times, I balled when those two sad moments happened. This series is easily one of my favs to read. The way that this book rounded out the series was done perfectly and I love that it was left open for spin offs for other characters.
A perfect and satisfying conclusion of the Shadow Walkers Saga. I laughed and cried and all the while my heart exploded with love for these characters. It delivered on everything I was hoping for and was a perfect conclusion to the series.
This book picked up right where the last one left off and kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. We get to see the story unfold from the differing perspectives of Remy and her men and it made the story so much fun to read; sometimes building suspense and other times just making me laugh. Our team is faced with some huge challenges and life-changing choices and it is fascinating to see how they each handle them. All of the events and the choices that the team has made find their exciting conclusion in this book, and although completing a series usually gives me the biggest book hangover, this just made me smile (with a tear falling down my cheek like the new emoji).
What a finish to this series. We have so serious low moments full of pain and betrayal and loss, as well as some beautifully high moment's filled with family, love and passion. So much happens to Remy and her loves and their friends and family in this story that I was continually surprised at what happened next. One sad moment even had me sobbing. I've really enjoyed this paranormal series, it's been an amazing journey.
This fantasy series is out of this world! A story of angels, lycsns, hunters, witches, and draculs...oh my! I loved the story of Remy and her men. Yes I said men. This is one Paranormal Romance series you will not want to miss. It has action, suspense, drama, so many steamy scenes that IT WILL HAVE YOU looking for a towel to clean up the.....sweat...lol I can not stop recommending this book to you to read. You will not regret it.
And the final goodbye but is it I have a very good feeling that this is definitely not the last we shall see of remy , I love this badass chick so much I can't explain the heartache I'm in that the saga is over I needs me some more Levi, I love him so much. Remy will always be on my fave heroine list she just brilliant. Well done Sloane you completely emerged me into a saga that will never leave me I will definitely be doing re-reads for years to come xxx
Readers finds the things that captures the likes of a story and Sloane did an amazing job doing just that. I mean you got the best characters that you could pull from The Originals and Supernatural. The best of both worlds equal the best author by far in 2020.
LOVED this series. 6 books was perfect to wrap up Remy and her men’s story, but it left so many other possible story lines. I’m so intrigued and can’t wait to hear more about these characters! Thank you for all the feels with this series!
Completely original ideas, characters that you love, then hate, then sometimes love again. Sad to see it end, but look forward to maybe seeing these friends again...
A epic conclusion to this amazing series, The best i have read from this author, i just love her story telling as a pnr writer she is just suburb.
What a ride Sloane took me on with this last installement from betrayal to heart breaking loss that will leave you sobbing with what is happening to reach the end, and what a ending this was. Remy has it all to battle to be with her mates in this final explosive book from getting ready for a war that will leave you breathless with the outcome to the peace that she is striving for.
Can't believe this series is over and has come to a end, i am going to miss Remy and all her guys as i have laughed , cried and got mad through out all these books but loved the ending, if you love a PNR read this is definitely a series to pick up you wont be disappointed at all.
I was dreading reading this because I did not want this series to end!! I appreciated all the plot progression in this book (some books were slower/repetitive with some things but this one got back on track for me). I couldnt NOT give it 5 stars with how this author was able to finish out Remy's arc with her men. I was so happy to see the ending and know that more books from this world was out, loved how crazy the family had it at the end, make me smile and giggle and sobbing earlier in the book haha.
I enjoyed the battles, the mind games, and the way karmic justice was dealt out. I am hoping some of the people's souls are kept with Morgan and her guys to do with as they please for millennia after all the death and pain they caused. I do wish we got some answers for some of the family/characters doing what they did. Like interviewing/torturing some of the souls that Morgan and her guys got would have been a nice addition and helped rounded it out. I did see the betrayal coming but not for the reason that was given so that was good. I will say some of the side characters brought up were like forgotten during the battles and aftermath (like Kain's bodyguard/babysitter for Remy haha). I rounded the review up to 5 because it was still great, but these kind of details made me give a real review of 4.5 (still fabulous!).
I will say I bawled like a baby with the loss. Like I knew with war they wouldn't be able to come out unscathed but when she was mourning and talking about him afterward, I was in the office during my lunch break and couldnt stop crying. I didnt how much I loved him as a character until he was gone. But happy it may not be the end for him just yet, so my broken heart can start to mend a little haha.
Overall, love this series, amazing character development, intricate storyline spanning many many characters and lives/generations, and baddies that do a good job holding their own/keeping the good guys on their toes. Made for a very moving arc and happiness with it coming to an end for now ❤️
i missed mc who were smarter than bad guys and always double crossed the villains with their master plans. but remy just trusted everyone who showed her kindness once. “I should’ve known better who to trust.” - bitch really? 5 prior books didn’t teach you anything? at least she remembered about her bond with kain and tried it. okay i thought it was stupid that this smart nevin guy was doing everything because levi didn’t love him. i was looking for some great reason for it all but what the actual fuck. i hate when characters are kinda breaking the fourth wall comparing their life to a book. “Like my life is some sort of graphic novel.” it is a book so stfu. 🙄🙄🙄 the only good thing about this series is that mc and the guys never were at the stage of falling in love with its struggles, they’ve all already loved each other for many lives. also kudos for non heterosexual love interests. bauer&archer, nevin&levi, amelie&clara. and referring to the baby as “them”. wow pregnancy trope when they’re on the verge of war 😍😍😍 “The little boy with black hair and wings like his daddy, and my bright purple eyes.” rhysand?? did she name her son colt so he’ll recycle into her brother colt? or did colt choose the true death. not gonna read about fallon and him though.
So very disappointing. The revelation of the “villains” are out of left field and make no sense of their cause. Even if you hate what a villain stands for it still should make some sense.
Through the whole series there were things that were vague that needed to be explained. Sudden ending of scenes that left me thinking WTF did my kindle miss pages!?
This book felt rushed and anticlimactic. Remy and Fallon were talked up as being different and powerful, that never came across as true. Fallon never showed that she could overcome and kick ass. Remy didn’t even save the day in the end.
The final “battle” felt like something was missing and such a let down. Also Colt dies? Why? I understand if a character needs to die, even if I might not like it, but this truly made NO sense. Like it had no point other than he’s her last “family” so let’s just wipe the board. Plus no resolution with the Colt/Fallon possibility even though that was another annoyingly vague thing through the series.
The sex scenes even got boring! There were 2 at the end of the book, one with Creek and then another as a group. I skipped through both because I was just so done and bored.

This feels like the end of an era. Its the culmination of a world that is so full of love, heartbreak, war, peace, and the final fight...This last book was a hard one. It had alot of events that made it so incredibly good but also tragic. We find Remy and her men getting ready for a war and when they discover who is responsible it changes everything. She also finds out something that will change her life forever. I loved this last book. I cried, I laughed, I got very angry and at the end it felt like the end. And oooooh was it steamy...Love those alphaholes...It was a great ending, if not the one I expected. Remy is one of those characters that will stick with me a long while after the last page is turned... This is definitely one you do not want to miss. Start this series and or last book now...Its amazing..
A Crown of Pride and Ruin is book six and the conclusion in the Shadow Walker Saga by S. Murphy. The book is not a stand-alone, the books are best read in order. ACoPaR picks up where the previous one left off. Remy and her loved ones are facing the ultimate, the ones where betrayed them, tried to tear them apart. Remy is a very angry pnr being, hold far away from her mates. All her plans are just that, plans. She never had dreamed of who's the real enemy is. This book brings them full circle. It's a fast paced, action packed epic conclusion. Reading the book was bittersweet. I loved the story, but saying goodbye to Remy and her mates was hard. A great read, I recommend the book and the series, 5 stars.
I definitely stayed up way to late last night finishing this book, but I absolutely needed to know how it ended. And boy did that ending have a lot going on. This book gives you all the feels. Seriously, I was absolutely balling my eyes out at one point, so much that my toddler wanted to know what was wrong with mommy.
I love everything about this series. The characters are perfectly created and written. They all have such depth & the character development is top notch. The worlds that she created, both within our world & beyond are so thoroughly built. The story completely draws you in and just does not let you go. Between how much I have loved the Shadow Legacies series and this one, I will officially have to check out all of her other series.
Writing this review is bittersweet. It is the last book in a series that I have come to love so much. In a world full of Paranormal RH, this one stands out. These characters and the supporting characters have burrowed their way into my heart. Especially my Caleb. The journey they go on is full of excitement and adventure. It's full of hold your breath moments and heartbreak. It's full of love and swoon worthy moments. It shows you that sometimes family is more than blood. I am not going to lie, this one ripped my heart out...but the ending was also perfect.
This book was well worth the wait. All the answers we were waiting for come out in thisbook and the betrayal went further back than they could ever have imagined. We find ourselves geared up for the mother of all battles but it doesn’t come without casualties though and one you would never have thought. We do find a bit of good news that really will put a big smile on your face and it proves to be the saviour at the end of the battle. This series has been one of the best PRN series that I have read in such a long time and it was a perfect way to wrap up Remy and her mates story. I for one cant wait to read the first spin off book.
Although I liked to story line it was hard work to get through. The inconsistencies between books as well as the spelling and grammar made it a tedious read at times. The books felt rushed.
On the pus side the chemistry between Remi and her guys is explosive. All her guys are possessive and smoking hot, they all bring different elements to the relationship.
There were far too many sex scenes for me. I love a good sex scene, however there was just too much of it in this series, i found myself skipping pages to get past them.
Even though it was a tough read, overall i did enjoy it it certainly wont make my top 10 though.
This book is absolutely fantastic! It carries on from where it left off in the precious book, and takes us once again on a journey with Remy and her boys. There is more heartbreak, incredible betrayals that shake Remy's world, and laugh out loud moments, not to mention the spice level is off the charts. This book took me through all the emotions, and Im sad it's the end for them, but I know they will appear in other books again! Definitely recommend this series!
This is the sixth and final book in the Shadow Walker Saga and it has been one heck of a ride. It is a roller coaster that runs the gamut of emotions. It is not a standalone and the books must be read in order. These characters will definitely be missed. This book has everything and the kitchen sink. Once you start reading, you are hooked and unable to put it down. If you have not read this series then I highly recommend you get started immediately. I volunteered to read a copy of this book.
Ah this book is so bittersweet! Glad to finally have some answers but so sad its ended!
Book 6 was full of twist, turns, explosive action and emotion. Remy really comes into her own in this book and the guys finally start working as a team they've come a long way since book one and really grown as characters.
Sloane really knows how to wring them emotions out of you with her words and I love it! I can't wait for more story's in this world and hopefully cameos from remy and her guys!
This book is an explosion of everything! Remy gets put through absolute hell. Not everyone is who they seem to be. Danger is around every corner. There is so much more at stake than what they know. This book is fantastic and oh man the steam! Why do good things have to come to an end? Seriously why? It's not fair!! I cried through that ending and still have a book hangover! I hope we get to see more of Remy and her alphaholes in the future! I highly recommend!
I recieved an arc of this book in exchange for an honest review!
In love with how the series ended. Perfection! Although I would have preferred a certain someone not to have died. Broke my heart, I kept thinking they would come back somehow and everything would be ok, but no. Add to that Michael's transformation and the news Roman discovers. I mean you are in for a treat with this one. I am also glad that Fallon (I'm pretty positive it's about her) will be getting her own series. There was definitely a ton left unresolved with her and I'm glad she'll get to tell her story.
