Taking on a horde of demon possessed vampires? Time to get wicked.
You’d think when a plague that threatens all of vampire kind (not to mention the world) is afoot alerting the Vampire Council would be the responsible thing to do…
I was too late… and now the already possessed council is coming after me.
If only I could access the infernal power Edwin brought with him when he bound himself to me in hell…
There is one item that might allow me to tap into that power: a flambeaux once made by the Witch of Endor.
Unfortunately, the infernal object is guarded by Cajun werewolves and the nasty ghost of a voodoo priestess. Not to mention, the possessed council is trying to get the item themselves.
To get there first, to claim the object, I’ll have to be ruthless. I’ll have to embrace my inner darkness. I’ll have to be bloody wicked. Hell, it’s only the fate of the whole world that depends on it.
Bloody Wicked is the third book in Theophilus Monroe's Legacy of a Vampire Witch series. These vampires don’t sparkle. If Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles ever met the Mayfair witches you might end up with a character like Monroe's Mercy Brown. She is a ruthless, badass, snarky anti-hero straight out of your worst nightmares. But you will want to root for her nonetheless!
Theophilus Monroe is a fantasy author with a knack for real-life characters whose supernatural experiences speak to the pangs of ordinary life. After earning his Ph.D. in Theology, he decided that academic treatises that no one will read (beyond other academics) was a dull way to spend his life. So, he began using his background in religious studies to create new worlds and forms of magic-informed by religious myths, ancient and modern-that would intrigue readers, inspire imaginations, and speak to real-world problems in fantastical ways.
I am in love with this series. I fell in love with the main character from the beginning of the first book and the character hasn't let me down. I love the humor the character brings and the strength. The storyline is still as good in this one as it was in book 1 & 2. I am wishing for more instead of it ending. This author backs a punch and I will definitely being looking for more books by them. Highly recommend.

Oops, he did it again! Theophilus Monroe has brought us another outstanding audio episode of Mercy Brown-vampiress extraordinaire - Bloody Wicked. Mercy is out of the Asylum for the Mentally and Magically Deranged. But I'm not sure things are all that much better.
Bloody Wicked revolves around Mercy's fight to acquire the one weapon that will help her access the special power embedded inside her. It was left there by her deceased brother who once dwelled within her mind. At least she thinks he did. The Bible's original murderer and Mercy's shrink thinks she may just have 'daddy issues.'
We travel to the Louisiana bayou to discover this magical weapon, long buried and protected by gargantuan and vicious werewolves and a Voodoo princess. Revelations occur when Mercy and newfound witch friend Hailey fight to gain access.
Heretofore, we've met vampires, witches, demons, elementals, wraiths. And now we add a journey to visit the pagan gods of Mercy's early witchcraft education. Bloody Wicked has offered Storyteller Productions a bevy of new mystical events. We've added special effects for even more wonderfully weird listening.
Monroe brings us a parade of colorful new characters to grace the stage of New Orleans in this book 3 of 5. And it's a good thing, as the ranks are thinning among Mercy's nearest and dearest.
Mercy is such fun to record. She has matured throughout this series (there are two more audiobooks to come; Bloody Devils will be released next week and Bloody Gods the following week). From snarky little vamp girl (Victorian Gothic is her favorite fashion statement) to a heroine fighting for the good of all vampirekind, her progression has been interesting to traverse. I continue to be completely entertained by Monroe's take on what contemporary life would be like for a vampire today. (Mercy kills her daylight hours surfing Netflix.) His juxtaposition of vampire perspective versus everyday mores truly makes one think about the choices we make everyday. And what we find funny, relevant, and important. How do you like that? Horror; with a heavy dose of philosophy thrown in for good measure.
Bloody Wicked is a fantastic addition to The Legacy of a Vampire Witch series. What started out as a bloody romp is turning into an all out battle for the preservation of mankind! Get 'em Mercy! You go, Girl!
This was another fantastic book in this series. I don't usually tend to read all the books in a series one after another, but this story line and these characters have me hooked and I couldn't put this one down!
Mercy is still possessed by her brother's soul, but he seems to be quietening down a bit now, unless she's on a hunt. In this one, acquaintances become closer friends and hunting partners and when a hunt goes wrong, Mercy is pretty grateful for this new friendship. Demons are invading New Orleans, but these demons are making the vampires' food source a more dangerous hunt than usual. When the Vampire Council appear in the city and seem to be possessed by the demons, Mercy knows she has to do everything she can to defeat the horde of demons, before they take over the humans and eradicate the vampires once and for all.
On her quest to find a hidden relic that could help her access even more of her witch powers, she gains allies and more, one of whom I was not expecting at all. But at the same time, she loses people too, which suddenly make her realise she had feelings that she truly never believed she could have!
I love Mercy and with the development of her friendship with Hailey and the reemergence of Moll, I think these three are a dangerous, deadly trio! I know Moll has some devious plan set in her mind and I am so intrigued to see what her final end game is!
The book was definitely fast paced, full of plot twists and turns and kept me on the edge of my seat! If you like vampires, witches and a never-ending race to save the day (even if it is just to save themselves!), then this series is definitely one for you!

Bloody Wicked is the third book in Theophilus Monroe's Legacy of a Vampire Witch series. I absolutely fell in love with Monroe's Mercy Brown. She is a ruthless, badass, snarky anti-hero straight out of your worst nightmares. But you will want to root for her nonetheless! Because her number one goal is sticking for all of those in her life or should I say un-life, and she will do whatever it takes even if it means the end of her character as a vampire – and there are a lot of characters is this edition that are out to get her. The title of the series was quite unusual and caught my attention right off the bet and you take the name of the novel Bloody Wicked: The legacy of a Vampire – and pair it with the cover photo and you will know that you just have to dig in and find out what is going on. I mean how can you think of that beautiful young lady on the cover as a bloody wicked vampire. As you read it will be up to you to put the pieces together! This is a unbelievable read! It pulled me in from beginning and held me to the end. Occasionally I would have to tell myself to breathe! The world building is detailed and imaginative. This novel has strong, well-developed characters and an ingenious story line that keeps you turning the pages. I recommend this novel and would read more novels by this author. I gave this honest, voluntary review for your consideration.
Book 3 and book 4 in this series are both rather short (audiobook-wise). 3/4 of the story is essentially just business being taken care of. I wouldn’t call it boring, but I wouldn’t call it exciting either. It’s just needed setup. I brought up book 4 because I think it would have been better if they had been a single book.
The final fourth of the book more than makes up for it in my opinion. Though I’m also biased. I already really, really, really enjoy this literary universe, and Mercy Brown is pretty much tied with Nicky as my flavorite character in it.
One thing about this audiobook that truly shines is the narration. At one point, the narrator was doing male voices and effects and I genuinely forgot that the narrator was female. Most female narrators are lacking in the male-voice department, but I don’t hold it against them. This is a rare case of the opposite of that. The narration overall is excellent though.
NOTE: This copy was provided to me free of charge as a digital review copy. The opinions stated in this review are mine and mine alone, I was not paid or requested to give this book a certain rating, suggestion, or approval.
This is my review of the audio version as posted on Audible:
More monsters, more fun...:) Well, in book three in the series the demonic possession of vampires is in full swing and Mercy seems to run against time. If she doesn't manage to figure out how to stop it, no-one will, and the world as she knows it will end. But the task is difficult as hell, and there are new enemies she has to face.
Again, I like this book more than book one, and I think it's at least as good as book two in the series. The plot is fast, there are quite a few nice twists and turns and the characters are fantastically written. It's definitely a character driven story, with quite a bit of sarcastic humour that adds life to it.
Narration by Ms Hazen adds colour to the whole experience; she's a master of voicing individual characters in such a way that they feel real for you.
DISCLAIMER: I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
And once again, this book had me guessing! Just when I was sure what would happen, it completely did an about turn! Theo's speciality is to keep the reader avidly turning the pages, always unpredictable. Mercy and her brother finally reach an understanding, then the unexpected happens, (for that titbit as well as all the other intriguing details, you'll have to read the book!)I actually didn't see so many things coming, which is really refreshing when reading a book. This series is just getting better and better. I mean, 2 vampires and a priest teaming up to find an ancient relic, as well as trying to keep the Order, who's determined to eliminate Mercy, to prevent a prophesy from being fulfilled makes for great reading. The way Theo draws you into the story, you go from feeling sorry for Mercy, to applauding her resilience and determination. Highly recommended
Two vampires and a priest… no it’s not a joke, quite the opposite
„Bloody Wicked”, the third installment in Theophilus Monroe’s brand-new series “The Legacy of a Vampire Witch”, featuring Mercy Brown, a literally heartless vampire witch that keep on going through the grinder and so, here we go again 😊
Mercy cannot take a breath, fortunately as a vampire that could actually work in her favour 😉 Things are getting out of hand, the vampiric demon horde threatens to eradicate vampire kind and Mercy decides to warn the Council but, no good deed goes unpunished and now the Council is coming to get her, to prevent her for disable the Council plans to world domination. Mercy has a plan, she only needs to learn to use her infernal power, for that she just needs to find the flambeaux belonging to the Witch of Endor, easy peasy…. No! never is! Mercy’s fate seems to find the higher number of obstacles into every single path, to the neverending joy of the reader…as stated above… here we go again 😊
Theophilus Monroe, once more, with feeling and deranged precision. It takes a special kind of ingenuity to make a vampire, a cynical, ferocious to the point of savage, unrelenting, even vicious one, the main character of a series and one the reader actually falls for. Even so, make not mistakes, Mercy does not sparkle in your dreams, more probable than not she will cut your throat in your nightmares, but she would always have a good reason from her own point of view.
This series is a highly entertaining lecture in an original world populated by witches, vampires, werewolves, demons, voodoo-adapt… you name it, Monroe writes it, adding a couple of creatures in the process for good measure… and does so with a fantastic writing-style that blends every possible element of voodoo, magic, fantasy, mystery, a sprinkle of romance, history and coming-of-age into a insane tasteful brew, that goes nicely down, page after page and let a satisfying aftertaste… all that served between the covers of a beautiful book.
Mercy was possessed, she was also a vampire. Seeking a way to rid herself of her brother's soul, that had been tortured in Hell (literally), Mercy becomes tangled with the Vampire Council and Annabelle a local witch. First she's locked in an asylum and meets the original Cain. Then she's on the run from the Council. Meeting her long dead half sister and becoming evil on purpose (what you say!) now things get interesting, as if they already weren't??? I like the characters and the fact that the author pulls them from his other books. Though this would easily be a stand alone.

Bloody Wicked (The Legacy of a Vampire Witch #3) was a great read by Theophilus Monroe. Mercy Brown finds herself running from the Vampire Council after she was too late to tell them of a plague that threatened all of vampire kind. Too bad she can't access the infernal power that Edwin brought with him when he bound himself to her in hell. The only thing that could help her tap into the power is a flambeaux once made by the Witch of Endor. But it is guarded by Cajun werewolves and the nasty ghost of a voodoo priestess. I loved the life that Kelley Hazen brought to the characters. I enjoyed reading this book and can't wait to read more by the author.
This book picks up where the other left off and Mercy is still trying to figure out how to deal with being soul fused with her brother Edwin and use the infernal magic against the demons targeting vampires. The Order is still after her and she is still not sure who to trust. The ending left me reeling and it will be interesting to see where Mercy goes from here. One thing is certain, Monroe proves that he can weave an epic story with this spin-off series that will leave you in thrall and begging for more. I volunteered to read this book via Booksprout.
I loved this book. It has drama, action, witches, vampires, werewolves, Rougarou's, ghosts, witchy vampires, archangels, demons, and plenty of weirdness for anyone the Paranormal! I found myself rooting Mercy on even though she didn't mind drinking the blood of humans. Mercy was turned into a vampire by Nico. This act was orchestrated by an ancient witch who read a prophecy in a grimoire and thinks Mercy is the one it speaks of. Oh, and Cain is the original werewolf. Highly recommended!!!

This is a wonderful addition to this thrilling series! Wonderful well written plot and story line that had me engaged from the start. Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believeable. Great suspense and action with wonderful world building that adds so much to the story. Such a thrilling read that I couldn't put it down. Can't wait to read more of these. Recommend reading.

Mercy who is still possessed by her insane brother goes to extreme lengths to be free of his tormented soul., The twists and turns in this book are simply fantastic I learned so much about Mercy. Her being locked in an actual asylum is a fantastic twist and she even meets the original Cain. I love the character development and growth in this book and I look for ward to more!! Very original storyline and fantastic writing.
‘Bloody Wicked’ is an excellent extension of the previous books in the series. It’s non stop action throughout. As with all of the author’s books in the Gates of Eden-verse this is filled with intrigue, suspense, and action. The character development just gets richer with every book. Can’t wait for the wicked sisters to get revenge and dominate.

I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the narrator and extremely enjoyable. Mercy finds herself in a new predicament. She needs to save the world. Everyone has lots of advice and Mercy has a plan. But becoming the Queen of the Demons wasn't it. Now Mercy needs all her trickiness to survive. Lots of adventure and suspense, with lots of wick turns. Looking forward to Book 4.
Bloody Wicked: The Legacy of a Vampire Witch, Book 3 , my eleventh read from author Theophilus Monroe. Another well written & enjoyable read/listen. I was given an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reviewing it. Kelley Hazen's narration again adds to the enjoyment of the book. I look forward to my next read from this author and need to figure out the order to read since the books all seem interrelated. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).
Mercy isn’t the vampire you expect and she’s still grappling with what she will do. Her morals are still rather questionable and she’s still doing some interesting things. There’s a lot of questioning of good versus evil and what’s really the best thing to do. I really have enjoyed Mercy more as the series continues. She’s a very complex character. This story had a lot of twists and turns I wasn’t expecting at all.
Bloody Wicked(The Legacy of a Vampire Witch#3) by Theophilus Monroe though available individually I received as part of a boxset. Another great book by this writer. In this one Mercy needs to take on a horde of demon possessed vampires. There is one item that may help her tap into the power of hell to defeat them... a flambeaux once made by the witch of endor. Unfortunately it is guarded by Cajun werewolves and a nasty ghost of a voodoo princess.
Mercy said the Priest,I am an Honest ARC Reviewer this is a good series to sink your teeth into...(ha ha) Mercy must become who was Prophesized to be in order to stop the demise of humanity. Will She become her best self ? will she fail to see the problem closer to home? to answer these questions you mus read this book.
Mercy is dealing with being attached to her brother Edwin. To save the world she must grasp her evil side. With the Council chasing her will she be able to gain the infernal object guarded by the werewolves and the voodoo priestess ghost? I enjoyed this action packed story. I received an arc of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
OMG, suspense and more. I can not say enough about this author and how he draws you into his stories and you can not put it down, this series just keeps getting better. Now the council when will she ever be free? So much ruthlessness what will she do? Can she embrace or will she fight it till the end?

Mercy is in a lot of trouble. The only way she can solve her problems is to become truly wicked. But, how does she do that? This is a good story with a lot of action and character drama. You really need to have read the two books before it though.

Monroe sure does know how to spin a story and this ending...wow! That was some crazy happenings there. Mercy still struggles with Edwin being inside her but is getting there. And of course the council is still after them. Will they ever get rid of the council ? Great book
