Selfish About You: Lessons In Love Book 3
With the ink from his recent divorce almost dry, Jamel “Tank” Brunett isn’t necessarily looking for love but he’s open to the possibility should the right woman come along. Before that can happen however, Tank realizes that some deep rooted issues from his past could potentially hinder any future plans he has on finding true love. In hopes of getting things right, he seeks help from a trusted friend who also happens to be a therapist. In taking the necessary steps to become a better man, Tank encounters a beautiful receptionist who not only captures his attention but has him thinking he’s more ready for a relationship than he believed himself to be. A Jane of all trades, Mirah Jones has a job she absolutely loves and has just achieved a long time goal of starting her own business. When her best friend unexpectedly pops the question to his new girlfriend, Mirah finally has a chance to show everyone what she’s made of when it comes to event planning. This multitasker has a lot going on but it’s nothing she can’t handle. Or so she thinks. One drunken night, a new beau with baggage, and a bride that she’s seconds away from strangling might be all it takes to knock her off her square. While Tank is dealing with his issues and Mirah is being pulled in multiple directions, these two manage to form a bond that becomes stronger and stronger the more they are around one another. Will mistakes from the past and present complicate the relationship that these two are trying to build or will Tank & Mirah ignore the naysayers and continue to live their best lives?

I enjoyed the whole series, but this was definitely my favorite because of Tank and his character development. I don’t know what it would be about, but I definitely want to see these characters again.

Tank 😍
Just like the rest of the books in this series, this one was so damn good! I loved watching Tank and Mirah fall in love. Mirah felt like my homegirl and I loved that she was real and didn't mind gathering disrespectful heffas. Then we get a scene with Tank, Kingston AND Simon! Gasses! I also liked the style of how the story was written with Him and Her like in Love Hurts. I can't wait to read Eko's book! And last but certainly not least, Tank big fine ass is bae!

Selfish About You (Lessons In Love Book 3) by Genesis Woods is about music producer Jamel “Tank” Brunett and receptionist/ party planner Mirah Jones. Tank and Mirah meet when he goes to therapy in the office she works at. These two are quite a pair, they have messy friendships and past relationships. However, I like their honesty and communication it left no room for miscommunication. No one could tell them stuff about each other that they hadn’t already shared. Tank and Mirah are one hot couple 🔥 (the elevator 👀)! They are selfish about each other but it works!

While reading books one and two I felt there was some mystery with him but never this. I am so glad he had the supporting cast he did. And can we talk about how PERFECT Mirah was for him! Can't say the same for that chick Fallon though, she was something else. Oh and Brandy too! Now, I will be looking forward to Eko's story.

Releasing to obtain love...
I am knee-deep into this series and have enjoyed every installment this far. I am so glad that Jamel and Mirah got to tell their story. Jamel's story alone was heartbreaking but when he finally released his past it was like letting a breath go you were holding. It was like he was finally going to receive all of the love he deserved. Mirah also had to let go of her past so she can flourish in every aspect of her life. I was glad when Jamel and Mirah hit it off because they both needed true love.
This was a wonderful read, I am looking forward to Eko story. I know it is going to be a page-turner just like the previous three stories. I am also low-key hoping that Simon and Lisa are having twins or triplets. I hope the gender reveal is presented in the next installment. If you have not indulged in this series you should, it will not disappoint.

Very Selfish
When you find a person who is selfish about you and your love, then you have the right one in your life. It's okay to help a friend out, its not okay to allow them to consume more than you want to give. Akirah constantly took from Tank. They started as childhood friends and moved the relationship beyond their natural boundary. Her selfishness showed. Tank meeting a better opportunity for love when he visited his therapist ,Dr. Lisa, was nice. He deserved a real love. Getting the chance to revisit with Simon and Kingston was a nice treat. The Love Lessons series is wonderful, and quite enjoyable.

Read this Book!!!!
I loved, loved, LOVED Tank & Mirah!!!! They both went through tremendous growth and healing together. And I love how they were open and transparent with each other. The friends and old lovers who would try and come in between them were thwarted because each had been honest about their pasts. Theirs was a mature love and it was so fun to watch! The sex scenes were 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥!!!! This was a great book!

Series just keeps getting better
Where can I get me a Tank? This story was quite surprising because I didn’t think that this character would produce so much emotion. Tank has a very interesting story , a very complicated life and it’s translating well in this book. Mirah is surprising as well; she complements him very well and is truly a ride or die. I love the story and I really wanna know who is the inspiration for Tank.

Tank me please!
This book focused on unhealthy relationships, forgiveness, and honesty. Tank was very open to Mirah about his ex, past relationships and feelings. They rode hard for each other and finally got their relationship together. Once he finally wrote his father and got an explanation that he needed from his father about his mother’s death, he was actually able to give Mirah all of himself. Their love was strong and I enjoyed reading about their relationship.

Every person in life needs that Selfish about you kind of love. Jamal and Mirah’s love radiated from the moment we were introduced to them and I can say there story did not disappoint. The progression of their love made sense and I was truly overjoyed by how they found their forever love. This story was not just sexy but all get out funny and it was an great read🥰

Good book
Mirah and Jamel I loved their energy. Jamel went along to get along until he found his one. So much about his relationship with his best friend was unconventional but he kept it 100, have to respect that. However, when he recognized more in Mirah he put words to action. We all need someone that's selfish about us. Great read

Love Prayers
I was a little confused as why this story was about Tank instead of Eko but I definitely enjoyed this heartfelt story instead how their love story played out. I was captivated how the romance was always on point and how in tuned they were with one another. If Love Prayers are indeed a real thing I’ll just have to write mine tonight and manifest. Loved this series.

I really enjoyed this series. First I fell in love with Kingston, then Simon, and now Jamel aka Tank. Whew...they all have what it takes to be swoon worthy. Mi was my favorite heroine. She is independent, confident but also knew how to lay hands on folks when needed...LOL. While there were a few errors in the book it did not take anything away from the story. I absolutely loved this series.

Total 5 star read. I enjoyed Tank and Mi (Jamal &Mirah) story these two were so sweet and sexy together. Tank's back story on what happened to his mother was heart wrenching. Brandy and Fallon both deserved the beat down they both received and so did Dorian. Can't wait to read Eko's story.

This story was so heartfelt reading that letter had me all torn up. The work Tank was putting in for MI was 💯 he knew when he met her that she was something different and he knew what he had to do in order to learn how to handle her properly as a man.

Loved it
This was the first book I have read by this author but it definitely will not be the last one. I truly enjoyed it from the beginning to the end. It carried some heavy items but the way they were written made it so easy for the book to continue to flow.

I enjoyed this story because they were alike with their best friends. It may not have worked out like we wanted but two people found their selves to mae whole again and that's what i loved about this book.

Unexpected love
When you don't take nobody's mess. Mi was too funny, she threw them hands at anyone. Tank was a boy in a man body that needed to rid himself of a the hurt. I'm happy he found his match and can now live and love.

Tank deserves all the love!! I have enjoyed these Lessons In Love books. This was super sweet. I loved the way that Tank loved and protected Mirah and the way that she reciprocated those feelings back. This was a beautiful love story. Great work, as always!

Great story with right amount of interesting twists
Really liked Tank and Mirah’s stories and appreciated that their respective drama was different but resolved with just the right amount of no nonsense (what was Fallon’s deal?! LOL) these characters were layered and I enjoyed watching their love story unfold.

Hot, funny and sweet
My first time reading from this author and it won’t be my last. I absolutely enjoyed Tank and Mi love story. He definitely had me tears and laughter. Mi was about hers. There relationships with their exes was wild. Great story.

A lot to unpack...
I really enjoyed Tank & Mirah’s little story very much. There were a lot of different relationships to unpack. Father to son, fake marriage, best friends, threesomes, doctor/patient and how a man loves a woman. Enjoy

I really enjoyed the mature vibe of the storyline. Tank had some issues he was running from but it didn't diminish his manhood. Mirah was in a peculiar spot but was open to accept the Love she deserved. Dorian and Brandy were prone to bad decisions together and separately. If Dorian could have been true to himself it would have saved Mirah a lot of unnecessary issues.

This was my first read by the author and will not be my last. Although this story failed to captivate my attention or emotions, it was okay. I will not pick the book apart but just didn’t do anything for me. The author’s skills did however shine through.

This book is a hood love story with best friends being of the opposite sex. I do believe best friends of the opposite sex can exist although each one did cross the line.
