Dog-Gone Cruise Director is the twentieth book in Hope Callaghan’s Cruise Ship Christian Cozy Mysteries Series. The author’s smooth writing style flows at a steady pace, the amiable characters are three-dimensional, the storyline is well-plotted, and the mystery is intriguing. Although there isn’t a murder in this installment, a lot is happening in this book, and the twists and red herrings keep the reader engaged and guessing. I highly recommend this book to those who enjoy reading well-crafted cozy mysteries.
As Siren of the Seas’ time cruising the British Isles is wrapping up, Millie Sanders-Armati’s boss, Andy Walker, was supposed to disembark and spend time with his family in the UK, however at the last minute, he decides to spend his vacation on board the ship with his sister, Sarah. While this isn’t the first time Millie’s filled-in for Andy, she is a little nervous, but her stepdaughter, Fiona, who doesn’t care for Millie, is also aboard the ship, which is causing a high level of stress for Millie. When Nic and Millie’s teacup Yorkie, Scout, goes missing while she’s helping with an arts and crafts event, Millie is devastated, and her anxiety level rises even higher. Millie is determined to find Scout, hopefully before Fiona discovers that her gift to her father is missing, and Siren of the Seas’ entire staff and crew is on the lookout for the adorable pup, with help coming from a surprising source.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
The Cruise ship is heading back to the states after this voyage. Millie and the crew are happy for spending the summer around the British Isles, but there is no place like home. Millie's husband, Nicoli Armatti, captain of the ship, is expecting his daughter, Fiona to join them for a day or two, much to Millies chagrin. They don"t see eye to eye about things, especially Nick. During one of the events, Scout, their tea cup terrier has gone missing. He was a gift from Fiona to Nick to keep him company during the long trips. Millie is beside herself with grief, and determined to find him, before Fiona finds out. That would be just one more thing for Fiona to dislike Millie. Andy, the cruise director, has the week off, and Millie is standing in for him. He is visiting his sister, that is a chatty cathy, She talks nonstop, but is looking for love, and wonders why she is not successful in that department. Andy has to have his annual physical, and leaves the sister with Millie. Millie is stressed to the max, and has a full plate. This adventure will not disappoint, and I would recommend it and any other of Hope's series!
Nic's daughter Fiona is arriving on Siren of the Seas to spend her vacation with her dad. She is also looking forward to see Scout, whom she had gifted to her father several years ago.
Millie is filling in for her boss on this cruise while Andy takes his vacation. She decides to take Scout along to her first activity and loads him into his stroller, along with his carrier of supplies. After parking him inside the library and covering the stroller, she gets to work. When the game is over, she discovers he is missing. That is when the adventure begins!
Millie and her mystery solving friends band together to find the missing pup. Did Fiona hide Scout to cause division between Millie and Nic? Did someone from the kennel club group on the cruise snatch him? Was it someone else on the cruise? Will Millie and her friends find Scout in time? Be sure to read the book to find out in this fine who-done-it!
Mystery in literature usually means "murder mystery", but not in this case. The only mystery in this book is that of a missing dog, Millie and Captian Nic's beloved teacup Yorkie, Scout.
Nic's daughter, Fiona, is on this cruise, and her animosity towards Millie has not lessened. Could she have been cruel enough to hide the pup? She fits the description of the dog thief who snatched Scout from the library while Millie was organized the group.
Also on board this cruise is The CD's extremely talkative sister, Sarah. Andy has to leave the ship for a couple of days to have his annual medical and leaves the chatterbox to follow Millie around. Millie soon understands why Andy looked so happy to get away.
While there is no murder in this book, it was an enjoyable, stress free read and a visit with old friends on the Siren of the Seas.
This page turner certainly did not disappoint!!! It took me less than 3 hours from start to finish, each moment filled with concern, adventure and a few laughs surrounding a tiny little teacup yorkie! So very many stories collided in this book...Andy's sister, a talker for sure, learned the importance of listening...Fiona, Captain Nic's daughter was rude as expected until an unexpected event changed her attitude...Starkey and his best friend Fin were a great team when searching for Scout...and so very much more! I'm sad our adventures in the UK are coming to a close, especially not knowing about the Southampton stranger, but it will be good going back home again for more adventures on the Siren of the Seas!
All hands on deck - Look out for Scout, Captain Nic and Millie's cute Teacup Yorkie. With stops in Scotland before returning to the states, Siren of the Sea hosts an intriguing crew, unexpected twist and turns, red herrings, and some not so delightful passengers - keeping Millie on her sleuthing toes. This avid retired reader, always enjoy Millie's interactions with crew and guests. Loved seeing Fin, Sharky's homeless drug sniffing kitten at work. Hope Callaghan's description of Fin's antics made me chuckle. Recipe for tasty Cottage Cheese Chicken Enchiladas included. Dog-Gone Cruise Director is a delightful arm chair cruise read.
Once again, Hope Callaghan takes her characters to task, and the hunt is on for Scout and his abductor. Andy is on vacation, and Fiona (Nic's daughter) will be on board for a week that turns into two . Millie is busier than a one armed paper hanger, but makes plans to visit and possibly film the Loch Ness monster. Guess what happens?
This ARC reader is more than happy to give two thumbs to this delightful adventure, all while wishing the book was twice as many pages. It is always hard to close the book at "The End!" Hope, I want more!
The Yorkie Belonging to the Captain and Millie is Stolen
Millie, the Assistant Cruise Director and Captain's wife, is covering for the cruise director, who is on vacation. She is hosting the arts and crafts session. As she has done for years, she has Scout, the teacup Yorkie given to the Captain by his daughter, in his stroller. When the session is over, Scout is missing. Millie is beside herself and is determined to find him. It is a delightful story of their love for Scout and the work Millie goes through to find him.
Millie Armatti has a busy schedule for this cruise. Andy, her boss, is taking vacation and Millie has to fill in for him. Her step=daughter, Fiona, is joining the cruise and she has made no secret of her dislike of Millie. Add to that somebody decides to take Scout the pup Fiona had given her dad. Will Scout ever be found or has he somehow been smuggled off the ship and sold or worse. I love this book as I have each of the Cruise Ship books!
A delightful mystery that Millie and the whole crew are trying to solve - trying to find a tiny lost pup on a huge ship! The crew of the cruise ship all pull together, as Fin shines as the hero of the rescue! This latest escapade could also be a blessing in disguise - as some fences may indeed be mended (unless kidnapping /dognapping is on order).
I have always enjoyed Hope's books and this book continues the enjoyment. Poor Scout goes missing and Millie needs to find him before their docking or he will be gone forever. Investigate with Millie to solve the crime. Additionally, Fiona is aboard and wants to see Scout. How long can Nic and Millie hold off Fiona seeing Scout. To the rescue is Sharky and Fin. This was a fun read and one I highly recommend. Look forward to the next book in the series.
Millie is frantic. Her teacup Yorkie has gone missing and Nic’s daughter who gave him Scout is onboard the ship. Millie and Nic try to keep the news from Fiona, but she finds out and is furious with Millie. When Sharkey finds Scout’s bag and his cat, Fin goes crazy he figures that Fin can smell Scout’s scent on the case. He and Millie figure out a way to check the cabins for Scout.
I love Hope's books, they are good clean reads. Millie loses Scout, she frantically searches for him before realising someone must have taken him. Sharky and Fin the cat track him down. Millie is also dreading meeting the Captains daughter Fiona and telling her Scout is missing. The ending was quite nice. I couldn't put this book down until I'd finished reading it though.I hope there will be more books.
This is the 20th in the series and continues to be a great story. The mystery this time is someone has taken Millies dog. To make it worse the captain’s daughter Fiona who gave him the dog is on board and blames Millie. Sharkey jumps in to help with the cat fin that Millie found and gave him. Fins amazing sense of smell becomes an important part of finding scout. I look forward to reading the next book
Once again we join Millie and her friends aboard the Siren of the Seas. This time the mystery involves her and husband Captain Nic Amati 's little dog Scout . Someone aboard ship has taken him and Millie is desperate to find him before they return to port. As always a quick clean Christian novel from author Hope Callaghan. On to her and Millie's next book adventure.
Tearjerker Mystery with bouts of humor as Millie pulls out all the stops leaving no stone unturned as she follows every lead in her hunt for the dog-napped pup. And wait! Is the snooty Fiona coming around?
Another mystery where Millie and the Gang are called on to use their special skills to sniff out clues to catch a crafty culprit.
I so love this series and how it gets better and better with each new book! Millie is at it again, this time she’s on the case looking for her beloved pooch Scout! When Nic’s daughter becomes a passenger on board the cruise Millie knows she has to double time her search for the family dog!
Another great book! I truly enjoyed this book. It grabbed me from the very beginning and didn't let go until the very end. If you enjoy mysteries that are cozy you will like this book and series. I can't wait until the next book. I highly recommend this book and author to you.
I have read every book in this seriesAs well as the other series that this author has written. They are all great. They are well written And have just the right amount of mystery.I have this author on my listOf authors to keep an eye on for new books.I hope she keeps writing for many years to come and brings out new series every so often.
I loved this entire series. Having been on several cruises, the crews side of ships life was interesting. I loved her mature heroine that was surrounded by her loyal friends. The characters were well written. The story lines flowed smoothly. The many different mysteries kept my interest through all the books. You want to read all her books!
Millie is not going to stop until she finds her beloved dog. Everyone who meets him seems to enjoy Scout so why has he been taken. With the help of her friends among the crew Millie is determined to find him before they dock. She gets the help of an usual crew member.
Another wonderful mystery. Someone has stolen Scout, the Captain and Millie's tiny dog. Millie left him in his carriage while she hosted an event. Millie will search the ship high and low to find her precious Scout. Her new daughter-in-law, Fiona, does not like Millie. Fiona is on the cruise and she wants to see Scout. Did Fiona take Scout or was it a passenger?
I've enjoyed every book so far. I like mysteries and it has been refreshing that there is no foul language and has Christianity included. I've read 20 of her 22 books. I'm wondering what I can read once I've finished reading all the Mill!ie cruise ship mysteries.
Another great cozy mystery with super-sleuth Millie! Fiona , Nick’s daughter, is on board, always snarky around Millie. When Millie and Nic’s teacup yorkie, Scout, goes missing while accompanying Millie to one of her classes, she’s heartbroken and the hunt is on! Love this series and the wonderful characters, which feel like old friends to me!
Scout is missing and Millie does everything she can to find him! Nic's daughter is also on board and so that adds a layer of stress too. This book is fast paced and I read it in 2 days. I love this series but was disappointed in the ending. First time ever that I felt the ending wasn't great & that the person responsible wasn't ....well... Make your own call.
When Scout is stolen practically underneath Millie's nose, she and her friends on the crew exhaustively search for clues. Their biggest break comes in the form of her last rescue.
Reading the cruise mystery books are like being in our cruise with memorial people. This book does not disappoint. We always love this series of books, and recommend them. Look forward to the next book
Poor Scout gets dognapped, Millie is Acting Cruise Director during Andy's holiday, her stepdaughter is on board and stress is high. The evidence of Scout's location comes from a very unexpected crew source. Delightfully entertaining.
