What happens when an EMP sends the West Coast back into the stone age? What happens when all means of transportation and communication suddenly vanish? What happens when you can’t call for help? What happens when the only person you can rely on is yourself?
As society falls into dismay, Carolyn Towne charges headlong into the escalating chaos to protect the only thing she holds dear: her family.
Blackout
After an EMP bomb detonates over the United States, frying the entire electrical grid, Georgie Fitz decides to take refuge at her estranged father’s cabin in the Rocky Mountains with her boyfriend and his family. When they arrive, Georgie discovers that a group of survivalists have already erected a camp there, and her father is nowhere to be found. As she adjusts to her new normal, she has trouble adhering to the survivalists’ rules. Can she fit in at the camp and find out what happened to her father?
I only got thru the first few chapters. This series seems to have been hastily written. In less than a day there are at least 3 organized gangs and bodies everywhere. Towns doesn't recognize any of the people that make up the gangs so where did they come from some the town is not very big he should have recognized at least one person. They didn't drive in that's for sure. And Tiffany . really? The day the lights went out. Instead of yesterday. Not like it was seems or even days ago. I just couldn't keep reading. The further along I read, the more unbelievable it became
Although the first part of this on the ranch had lots of grammatical errors which are minor, that still bothered me. I also felt the dialogue was strong for a young girl to be telling a grown man. She had no remorse with her first killing. The second part was more believable but still made her out like wonder woman. It did hold my interest and makes you wonder, what would you do and would you survive? I doubt I would....
Amazing survival of an EMP. This story really makes you realize just how the world can be during an apocalyptic event. People will do many things good or bad for survival. Makes you wonder what you would do to protect your own family. Georgie is one tough woman for sure. Great story!
37 pages in and I can't continue. Aside from the amateur writing, where the dialogue is used to tell everything instead of show it, the characters seem to know that this EMP will be long term and society is about to crumble. Really? Within like an hour or two? I mean, sometimes a run-of-the-mill blackout can last until morning. People don't automatically assume it's the end of days. Well, I'm sure some do, but this author has presented his characters and level headed and intelligent, so it's odd they immediately jump to the conclusion that this is their new way of life.

An excellent tale that actually has the prospects of a recovery after the apocolypse. Better editing would have been a bonus and there was no explanation for the perpetrators of the EMP. Never mind the characters were very well presented and the story line was plausible. Well done.
With all of the technology and the current world tensions it’s just a matter of time. Both Russia and China want to be World Dominates and they have the technology. If either one of them get North Korea to side with them or if all 3 form a pact they could do it. Will we be ready? Can we survive?
Great survival story of what could happen with determination and grit. The surprise ending for Amos could have had a little more explanation. The fast paced final chapter was riveting.
What would you do if NOTHING WORKED? Absolutely nothing. No cars, electronics, running water, food scarce. It's about survival in modern day life. Great read
I enjoyed these stories but want to say that the author mixes up Jove and Ludo when they get to Camp Haven. I also want to know what happens to Caroline.
I like the characters. Gave 3 stars because it needs editing where the mason family joins camp haven. Jove and the camp leader’s names get confused at times.
