It's gloomy outside, and the bulbs are all out; there's a slight breeze and not one soul nearby; now it's only you, your novel, and the tale of horrors that awaits you. Will you attempt to do all that solely?

Oh, don't fret; it was my environment for the superbly crafted horror title 'Check-in Checkout' with Villagio Hotel as the central backdrop. If you love horror stories, then do not forget to delve into this one.

2020 turned out to be the time of terrors but not for our author Keran. She, beyond doubt, got influenced by it. Even though for a while, her book treats us to overlook all that's occurring around us. Horror novels make my hair stand on end, but I can't help myself not listening to them. Those stories with a past invariably get me interested and pinned. For sure, this one had me stuck to it till the very end.

The book consists of two sections: the first one explains the traveler's encounters sojourning at the Villagio Hotel, and the other one informs us of the hotel's antiquity. The anecdotes are all expertly crafted and with a hotel that has a horrific amour. The stories that I loved the most are Her Irresistible Smell and the Virgin Mother. However, I felt The Foot in The Ceiling and Do You Think I Am Beautiful could be made a little better.

The book's overall offering, it's cover, the blurb is all well-crafted; the writing is pretty easy to follow. But, there are grammatical and sentence structure glitches that certainly can be taken care of in the next update.

As a whole, the book exceeded my expectations, and it's a job excellently executed. I would undoubtedly suggest this one to all horror enthusiasts.

Scarier than the blurb Spookier beyond imagination & only read it if you can handle this not for the faint hearted 🤫 (Like Me 😃)

The story is of Villagio hotel in Tasmania and through centuries the renovations have refurbished the place but hidden within are some daunting & disquieting tales. Be prepared for a spine-chilling effect post read.
Divided in two parts which has total 10 stories which includes every nightmarish account you have heard, read or witnessed in movies and yet the author has a flair to make it eerie.

Every horror story becomes creepier when it involves Children so Angela’s Child & Room No.39 were creepy for me.
I have goosebumps even while writing this review. You can read it in one sitting but I extremely love the way the author has incorporated every mind boggling element required in a Horror genre book.

Book Title: CHECK-IN CHECKOUT: ...and the horrors
Author: Keran Pantth Joshi
Format: Kindle

Book Title:
The title of the book ' CHECK-IN CHECKOUT: ...and the horrors ' is mysterious and spooky.

Book Cover:
The book's cover image is a haunted hotel reception desk with a ringing bell and a dead\devil hand on it. There are single and scary eyes peeping in from the wall behind the desk. This exciting scenario is enough to explain the book to be a thrilling read.

My review:
Keran Pantth Joshi's book is a collection of short stories divided into two parts in the book. Setup in a hotel named, Hotel Villagio the stories are well written. The first part has the stories that have spooky tales about the horrific incidents that took place with the travellers in the hotel. The second part deals with the unfolding and unearthing of the murders of those travellers who were killed mentioned in the first part. This unique way of storytelling was enjoyable.

What I like:
1. The story-plots in every short story
2. The setting of the village and the hotel.
3. Considerable amounts of spookiness and horror elements in every story.

What I didn't like:
Besides a few editing errors, the book is a decent read with an adequate amount of thrill.

Characters:
Every character is written with ease, scope and strength. A horror story needs good and strong characters that narrate the story well and sufficient exhibition of fear. In this book, the characters indeed are crafted well.

Narration:
The narration of all the stories that are divided into two sections in the book is wonderful. As the title suggests, some stories and narration(s) are quite thrilling. Expect the unexpected horror can be a correct phase to explain the crux of every story.

Language & Grammar:
A fair and accessible language is used in every chapter of the book. Though there are some editing glitches, the book is a good entertainer.

My Final Verdict:
Spooky and thrilling stories in this chilling weather!

Book Title: 4/5

🛎️This book is a collection of short stories which is divided in two parts and based on Villagio hotel that is haunted. Part One represents 9 horror stories that took place in the hotel with its guests and travellers whereas Part Two unfolds the dreadful history behind this haunted hotel and its mysterious murders.

🏨I was really excited to read this book because I LOVE anything Horror and that landed me to completing the book in one sitting!

🛎️The moment I started the book and read the introduction part, it instantly reminded me of The Shining. It surely takes you through a ride that is horrifying and thrilling. Every story is of people from different parts of the world. They all land up in the same hotel at different time zone, take the room which they shouldn't. Stories are very short and the language is simple which makes the reading speedy and enjoyable. I was quite excited for the last part of the book as it stored the past behind the horrors of the hotel.

🏨I wouldn't say that I was scared to death because some of the stories seemed inspired from here and there like The Shining or the doll story from Annabelle with few changes. Only reason I was a bit scared was that I read it at midnight and hence ruined my sleep.
Cover of the book is quite spooky and the title is completely apt to the book!

🛎️For all the horror book lovers, this book is for you!

“Maybe, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. But what if darkness is now your forever companion and there is no end to the tunnel.”

About the book-
Check-in Checkout is a collection of short stories and in two parts. Part One captures the horrors of guests via nine stories that range from urban legends, folklore, human sacrifice, cult, psychological haunting, gore to modern-day haunting. The travellers include leisure travellers, corporate clients, group bookings, migrant refugees and domestic abuse victims. Part Two reveals the horrific history of the land on which the hotel was built. It gives readers an insight into why Villagio Hotel is a magnet for all things demonic.

My views-
The list of horror books I enjoy is very limited, and this is one of them, I personally liked the later half of the book better, maybe it was because of the build up that preceded it.
Some of the stories are ordinary but some really creep you out, its been a while I read something like this.
Iam gonna think twice before checking in to any hotel with the likes of Villagio.
If you have a weak heart better not read at night, especially if you are staying in a hotel!!
A decent one time read overall.

The Genre Horror and all the books falling under this realm have been there for years, however the recent few years have seen a considerable amount of growth and spike in them, mostly after the huge success of movies like Conjuring and IT.

Personally for me, I started reading Horror books after falling in love with Annabelle. Maybe it was the realization of just how satisfying it felt to settle into a scary story, feel the rush of adrenaline, and then close the book at the end and walk away.

We all are different individuals, with different personality traits and hence the definition of scary is different for each one of us. For some, it can be ghosts or haunted houses. For others, it can be psychopaths and sociopaths while for others, it could be mere voices at night or shadows on a lonely street.

So, keeping all this in mind, this book wasn't something that made me so scared that my heart thumped out my chest, or I experienced cold sweat breaks on my forehead. Yet, it did keep me interested enough and I completed the book almost in one setting.

Coming to the story, it is setup in the backdrop of Villagio Hotel in the beautiful Tasmania. The book is divided into two parts. The first part is a collection of 9 short stories while the second part is about the history of the hotel.

Out of all the short stories, the one that I found the most scary, or rather the one that made my heart beat faster was ‘The Follower on Instagram’. It did give me a vibe of the recent trend that went viral about a phone number, that if called on, would result in the death of the caller. The Follower on Instagram was a similar story, only the phone number was replaced with IG follow button.

To end my review, I would definitely encourage all the Horror/scary stories lovers to give this book a try. I'm going to give this book FIVE CHECK STARS ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Brilliantly written

I am an absolute horror enthusiast. About half of my reading list consists of horror books, and I am always looking for more. While you may think Stephen King may still dominate the horror genre but trust me, so many other authors have written spectacular horror books. My search for horror books is never-ending. Apart from foreign authors, I was also on the lookout for Indian authors who could deliver a book that could satisfy my insatiable thirst for horror reads.

Then one wonderful day, Check-in and Checkout by Keran Panthh Joshi fell into my hands. Honestly, I was skeptical at first. I had no to low expectations of it. Then I turned to the contents page and I was hooked. One of my favourite types of horror reads are haunted houses, and naturally, that extended to haunted locations, like, in this case, the haunted Villagio Hotel, which holds numerous secrets; secrets that spill out from the cracks to terrify you when you least expect it. Now here is my catch-22 of horror, I love to read them but hauntings scare the bejesus out of me. So the book must be excellent to actually scare me to that level and this book somewhat achieved that.

Divided into two parts, the cause and effect followed by the conclusion, of sorts, the book was a delight to read until the end. It had the proper amount of scare. Bizarre happenings, sightings, gore, demonic entities, etc, you name it and the book has a story for it all. With excellent narration, the author has created the perfect setting to base the stories. I am sure I won’t be staying in any hotel room alone any time soon. I could go into details on each of the stories but where’s the horror in that? Grab yourself a copy and read it this instant. This is the perfect book for reading around campfires and in the darkness of your bedroom, where you think you are safe but, maybe think again..?

Not recommended to the faintest of hearts, my rating is 5/5 stars

Book Title: Check-In Checkout
Author: Keran Pantth Joshi
Publisher: StoryMirror Info Tech
Format: Kindle
Language: English
Genre: Horror
Pages: 162
Book Rating: 5/5

Check-in Checkout is an anthology of short stories and it is divided into two parts. Part One captures the horrors of visitors through nine stories that roam from urban legends, folklore, human sacrifice, cult, psychological haunting, gore to modern-day haunting. The guests who visited the Villagio Hotel are spare time travellers, corporate clients, group bookings, migrant refugees and domestic abuse victims etc. Part Two reveals the horrific history of the land on which the Villagio hotel was built. If you ask where the hotel situated, the answer will be Tasmania. In the book, the Villagio hotel played a crucial role. All the unusual incidents took place there. The history behind the hotel is more horrendous. Part two of the book narrates it.

I can assure the readers that all nine stories are enough to terrify you and make your nights sleepless. You may not even be able to stay in any hotel after that. Another possibility is that you cannot stay alone afterwards. This book is a masterwork for the horror genre. Narrations are breathtaking. So are the situations. The author did everything possible to scare the readers. The history in part two is absolutely stunning but I cannot reveal it because it will spoil the story. Before beginning each story, there are introduction lines that help to attract readers to finish the following story as fast as possible. All stories are eerie, spine chilling, full of curiosity, breathtaking, bloodcurdling and heart bouncing. I recommend the book to all the horror lovers.

The author has written all the stories using different experiments of horridness. She took the horror story to the next level. The cover image which shows an ugly hand pressing the bell in reception is very much awful. Although all the nine stories are excellent but I liked 'ROOM NUMBER 39', 'THE FOLLOWER ON INSTAGRAM', 'VIRGIN MOTHER' and 'HER IRRESISTIBLE SMELL' most among others.

The narrative is well written. All the stories are written in third entity perspective. The writing style was good, it brought out the creepiness in necessary places and created the atmosphere of drama and suspense mixed. ⁣

Talking about the individual stories themselves, some of the stories were straigh out urban legends from various cultures, a few were pretty cliche (the writing style saved these kind of stories from being boring and not scary) and mostly were pretty original never before heard stories. ⁣

Different kinds of supernatural aspects were dabbled into via the stories what I mean here is that not only spirits, etc. were the main aspect (or the villain) of the book. If you are interested in looking into more such creatures and topics then this is a nice, sweet read for that.⁣

The characters were well written, most of all their fear and excitement was well captured. Obviously, the journey with each character was quite short and even insignificant up to a point but they were still quite enjoyable.⁣

Overall, it was quite a nice and exciting read. I finally read a book on such a topic after a long time and it has definitely motivated me to read more.

There is a phrase that "where there is a God then there is a devil too"!! This book is my first horror genre book and frankly speaking i didn't thought a book can also terrified you. I am keen to horror stories and this book has all that essence.

This book is a collection of short stories which is divided into two parts and revolves around the haunted village Hotel. Part one consists of 9 stories in part one which revolves around the guests and customers of the hotel. In second part the history of this haunted hotel and murders revealed. This book is something which cannot be explained in words without having reading experience.

It is a perfect blend of thrill, mystery, fun and horror. The author has amazingly narrated all the stories that one can easily frightened by reading these stories.Language used is simple and lucid. Characters are well developed. One can read the book in one go. Overall, a scary read.

'CHECK-IN CHECKOUT'
-Keran Pantth Joshi

My rating:4.6/5

Horror is a genre that I haven't explored much. But thanks to this one, from now on, I'll undoubtedly explore more of this genre

Qotd: Recommend some horror novels, please!!

This is the story of Villagio Hotel, the history of which dates back to 1910. This book has 2 parts, in which the first part has 9 stories which range from human sacrifice, urban legends, psychological haunting, folklore etc.

So, I read this book at night time, around 12'O clock, it was raining outside as well. And oh boy-that was such a bad decision. All of the stories were so well penned that I got goosebumps. I could literally feel shivers running down my spine. Every single story, all 9 of them, where entirely different and had its disposition and charm. All of the elements were fresh and unique.

I loved how the author utilized many modern-day entities to the story along with myths and superstitions. The stories were very well written, Not too long, nor too short. Just the perfect narrative for horror fiction.

So, if you wanna behold some nightmares and be sleepless, read this one! You'll love it!

"It has seen customers check-in and check-out. It has seen the good, bad and the ugly side of people. It has seen joyous celebrations and also brutal fights. It has witnessed multiple owners and countless renovations"

HAPPY READING!

Check-in Check out is of horror genre with lots of thrilling events. This book consists of short stories based on a hotel located in Tasmania. The book is divided into two parts. 1st part have 9 stories about the costumers who had visited that hotel and had checked out, the stories are from their point of view and their experiences. Second part will tell you about the hotel and it's past, what happened and how it became a horror place.

The language is lucid and easy to read, you can actually get sacared while flipping through the pages, even the sound of flipping pages can scare you. All the characters description was upto the mark, that it felt all real. Author has done his job perfectly of writing a book of horror genre. The stories are gripping and it also shows some supernatural belief. The story narration is smooth. A fan of horror stories must pick up this book. Fast-paced stories.

Cover page: The Cover is what made me buy that book. The cover depicts a reception desk where a ghastly hand is going to press a bell and there are eyes on the wall looking towards the bell. So Kudos for the Cover.

Review: So I am a huge Horror genre Fan. And I have read many indian authors writing. So i was like will this book be common to them or will it have the same effect, that it contains horror but the spine chilling type. So the book is based of a common connection the Villagio Hotel. The book is divided in two parts, one with the people who came to Villagio hotel and the second been the history of the hotel.

So when I mention the parts, what I assumed was 50-50 part book whereas this was more of 90-10 percentage. Each and Every story was like a different era and league of its own. I had lots of goosebumps while reading this. Even with the history of the hotel was like WOW. The Stories include Room no. 30 ( ok read), Angela’s Child( a Nice Read) , The Follower on Instagram( My Favourite), Virgin Mother ( Spooky) , The Foot in the Ceiling( Gruesome), Wherever you go (Enjoyable), Her Irresistible Smell(Groovy), Do you think I am Beautiful( Spooky).

Overall a Spine Chilling start to Halloween.

Check-In Checkout: ...and the horrors within has two parts where part one is a collection of horror stories surrounding around the Villagio hotel and part two is about how it all started and what's the reason behind the Villagio Hotel being haunted. This story would take you around all the scary things the visitors of the hotel faced.

I must say after a long time I felt chill ruining down my spine while reading spooky stories. The author did a good job of scaring the readers and giving them the thrill. Each story is unique in its own way with the only common thing being the Hotel. Out of all the nine stories, my favorite ones are "Hide and seek with a demon", "Do you think I am beautiful?" And "Her Irresistible smell". These are a few which took my sleep away the day I read them. The author focussed on different aspects starting from human sacrifice to the possibility of an Instagram follower being the ghost.

The cover is very attractive with the blue background and the title is apt for the story and is very intriguing. Good usage of vocabulary and the flow is lucid. The ending to a few of them was so breathtaking that it did take me a few moments to move forward. All the stories are independent and can be read anytime. Overall, I would recommend this book to all the strong-hearted readers who enjoy getting scared.

Check In Check Out is definitely one of the best horror fiction I have ever read. It is basically a collection of spooky terrifying tales.Author have done a commentable job by bringing out the best in all stories. What happens to the guests of Villagio Hotel in Tasmania, between their check in and check out:the cold blooded terrors that they face are the central theme of the book.

There are two parts-one part which captures the terrifying experiences of the guests, who hails from different parts of the world, related to legends, folklores, cult etc;and second part reveals the "why " of all the happenings in the hotel.

Narration, character creations and entirely different plots adds to the extra attractions. Each story begins with a quote which ignites fear in us. I literally was afraid to read this during night because such ghastly are the tales.

Although I loved reading all stories, Follower on Instagram and Do You Think I am Beautiful are my favourites.

I would recommend it to all horror fiction lovers.

White and Black; Light and Dark; Happiness and Sadness; Good and Evil... These acronyms are not only words but something we need, to understand the value of life. Without evil, we will never understand the value of goodness. But, what if a whole land has the dark aura of evil? What if nothing good can defeat the vessel of evil? What if you end up at a place who has only seen horrors after horrors? Yes, my friends! This book here is a stark example of 'horrors after horrors' at one place, namely Villagio Hotel which is exciting and relieving when you check-in but horrific and deathly when you checkout.

This book has 2 parts where the first part consists of 9 stories all set at Villagio Hotel and the 2nd part... Let's keep it a secret.

Now if you ask about my favourite, I loved the 2nd part most and from the first part, it's 'The Foot In The Ceiling'. It's the only story which brought a smile on my face at the end because it ends on a good note despite being a horror. And if anything freaked me out, it was 'The Follower on Instagram.' So, go and pick the book, I think it'll freak you guys out as well.

Written in easy to understand language, with covid playing its role in some stories; this book has all the chills to give you at night. A page-turner, this book emits horror through every its every page!

A portion of the narratives feel as though they are valid that they do exist on the planet today.

The book spins around the Villagio Hotel and accounts of its clients from one side of the planet to the other. The book is partitioned into two sections with the initial segments containing 10 accounts of loathsomeness and a wide range of satanic encounters by the inn's clients and the subsequent part clarifies why Villagio Hotel is relieved and what is the story behind it is drawing in a wide range of negative powers in light of which it's clients are encountering every one of the detestations.

This book has two parts; Part I consists of 9 chapters, a set of short stories, a series of events that happens to the customers who check-in the haunted Villagio Hotel and Part II is based on why those events happen and the history of the Villagio Hotel. Before I start my review I need to say this it's damn tough to write horror stories and even make horror movies and this one in the former category was an enjoyable one.
.
I really liked the concept of the stories and they surely jump at you.
.
It's gory, it's horrifying and you are left asking for more.
.
The way the author builds up every story is very different from the other.
.
Sometimes there's a story in the story, sometimes you know what's going to happen but you don't know the HOW so that's something that was enjoyable.
.
The writer explores various themes and the horror of themes of mental health, devil, superstition and many more tells you more about the characters of the story.
.
Then comes the part TWO of the story which I felt could have been a better reveal. I wouldn't tell you what it is but the stories are a must to watch out for.

A spooky read that'll give you sleepless nights

My ratings: 4.3/5
The scenic Villagio Hotel seems idyllic for a holiday, but little do the guests checking in know about the chilling horrors that stir to life in the darkness of night. This book is a collection of various short stories, right from spooky to shocking, with Hotel Villagio at the backdrop of each.

What I liked about the book:
-> The stories touch on various lesser-known (or popular? I am probably the ignorant one who didn't know about them before reading this book) myths and legends like Hitori Kakurenbo and Kuchisake Onna.
-> Though it's a horror book, it made me question a lot of things, like our blind faiths, and superstitions.
-> Some of the stories feel as if they are true that they do exist in the world today.
-> The writing style is impressive as per the genre.
-> The stories touch upon social issues like rape, being a single woman, poverty, and the plight of women in war-ridden countries, etc.

What I did not like about the book:
-> Being a person who scares very easily, I wasn't quite scared while reading it.
-> It felt more telling than showing.

Quotable quotes:
-> Maybe there is a light at the end of the tunnel. But what if darkness is now your forever companion and there is no end to the tunnel.
-> Credit cards can buy fashion but not style sense.
-> That's how social media sites work. Every nobody is a somebody, and people hide behind fancy facades.
-> There are no explanations for weird people doing weird things.

This book is a collection of 10 short stories divided into two parts. The first part has 9 stories each with a different horror story of the people who check in to the Villagio hotel and the second part has 1 story which unfolds the real mystery behind this hotel and its horror.

Every story involves characters of different places from all over the world but comes to stay in one particular hotel, the Villagio hotel. Each story is unique and filled with different kind of horror which will keep the readers hooked till the end.

I like the way how the stories from different genres like the urban legends, the gore, revenge spirits etc are interwoven and narrated in a ghastly tale. The language used in simple which made the story enjoyable. The stories are short and fast faced and I finished it one sitting.

I wouldn't say it scared the hell out of me but yes it is enjoyable for any horror lovers. The cover pic is spooky and the title is very apt for the story. I was actually hoping for a more horror in the last short story which was supposedly held the story behind the haunted hotel. Otherwise it was a good read.

Title- Check-in Check-out.... And the Horror Within
Author- Keran Pantth Joshi
Genre- Horror
Pages- 160 pages

I've always been in searc of a good thrilling horror book and when I saw the cover and title for this one, I was tempted to read this one.
As the Title suggests, Check-in Check-out is about a Hotel named Villagio and also how it's past horror history reflects in it current situation. The book is divided into two parts, one where there are horrifying and thrilling stories of every individual that stays at Villagio and the other part which describes about the antiquity of the Hotel.

In the year of 2020, as we have all had a terrified year so did the Author who got inspired to write this book.
I love how there are 10 stories with completely different genres and still interconnecting to one Place. You feel a different level of terror and the narration is so well that you end up imagining the whole scene leaving you with goosebumps.

Key Highlights-
☠️ Special mention for such a descriptive Cover on reception table with spooky eyes popping out and ofcourse the title too.
☠️ The stories are short but the way with every story the Author has set different plots is highly commendable.
☠️ Not just stories, but this book also touches on day to day mindset of people be it domestic violence in a story, or how people on the name of God or Dharma try to cheat common people.
☠️ The quotes in the beginning of each story felt like relatable cherry on the Cake...!!!

If you are looking for something different, thrilling and interesting in the genre of Horror that this one is surely a book for you.
This one is my first book from Author, I am really looking forward to read more of her work...!!!

Rating- A perfect 5 Star read...!!!✨

Spooky

If someone asks me to describe this book in one word, I'll just say spooky.
A well written book which has been narrated from the author's perspective. A well narrated collection of stories set in the Villagio Hotel. The stories are based on incidents that are happening in the rooms of the hotel with the stories concluding in the final story where all the mysteries unravel.
This is certainly one of the best books on horror stories. It's one of a kind horror book which embodies some of the most famous urban legends like the story on stalking on social media. The setting of stories in the fabled Tasmania where everyone knows the origin of the most famous Dracula took place, so the name of Tasmania and horror stories there is enough to send chills down the spine. The suspense created by the author is spot on and something which many other horror books miss. The narration is fluid and flawless and there are no breaks in between only suspenseful reading which makes you think what will happen now and it makes things more and more interesting. There is not any story which I’ll say that it’s my favorite as all of them are equally scary, but if someone asks, then The Follower on Instagram would be my favorite as it encompasses the modern day obsession to social media and how it can become scary in a split second. Do You Think I am Beautiful is one spooky read which follows the classic ghost stories concept. Overall it’s a very good read. I certainly recommend it to every reader out there who wants a good old fashioned horror story with a touch of modernity and the horrors which the current world possess.
I had never been a fan of horror stories, but reading this piece of work has made me rethink my choices for reading horror stories.

"Your door might be locked and lights turned off. But someone waits for you in the darkness of your safe haven. It's death!"

'Check in & Check out and the horrors within' is psychological thriller book written by Keran Panth Joshi. The book revolves around the Villagio Hotel and stories of its customers from all around the world. The book is divided into two parts with the first part include 10 stories of horror and all sorts of demonic experiences-  urban legends, revenge spirits, gore, modern-day haunting, psychological horror & satanic practices- which is experienced by the hotel's customers and the second part explains why Villagio Hotel is cursed and the story behind it.

The book takes you through a horrifying ride. It is quite gripping and the spooky stories make this book difficult to be put down. The theme of the book is unique and beautifully crafted.

The stories are short and the language is simple which makes it fast-paced and enjoyable. They are written in third entity perspective. I think that a few of the stories seemed to be inspired from some movies.

The narration is well-descriptive. The author has made the writing to bring out the creepiness in necessary places. The characters were developed efficiently, though our journey with them is quick.  The author has very well captured their fear and excitement all throughout the stories.

This book is an enjoyable, and inviting spooky read, although I wasn't quite scared while reading it. I recommend it to beginner readers and horror enthusiasts.

Check- in Checkout was by far the best horror book I've read this year hands down. It was a collection of 10 short stories presented in 2 parts. The first part focused on the terrors faced by the guests which lead to their eventual demise. The horror elements in each story was very unique. It ranged from cults, urban legends, folklore, human sacrifice and so much more.

"Just her presence and her smile made Steve feel at peace. The same room that gave him chills and discomfort, felt so homelike and comforting."

All the stories were set in the same place, Villagio Hotel which was located in Tasmania. Part 2 of the book contained the origin story of the Villagio Hotel. The reasons for the horrors of the hotel was due to the destruction that happened on the land that the hotel was built on.

“An incomplete love. The kind of love that comes as a blessing and mutates into a curse.”

There was a precise cohesiveness within the book even though it was a collection of stories. I loved how the content page was presented as the register of the hotel. There were particular details the author had emphasized on, that made the book so exciting.

“You think I am beautiful? Come with me, for your life is done. You think I am not? Then breathe your last, for it’s over.”

The language was lucid and beautiful. The narration was predominantly in third person with exception of a few which were narrated in first person. The writing style had flare and was articulate. The tone of the book was solemn and ghoulish.

“Your sadness will multiple. Resentment will increase. Inner demons will be stronger. The evils here will do that to you. But it’s just not them! It’s HER. She can’t leave and she won’t let others leave.”

I loved everything about this book. I read it at night and thought it was the best time to read. Various hauntings in the hotel lead to the death or disappearance of the guests. To know more about these occurrences, please read the book. Recommending it to all horror book lovers.

What does a horror story requires to become successful and something everyone feels the rush of adrenaline and scares the hell out of a person yet one doesn't want to keep the book down or stop watching it.

CHECK-IN CHECKOUT... and the horrors within
by Keran Pantth Joshi is definitely something to hold up their end of the bargain.

Ghost possessions, sightings, demonic possessions, undesired deeds, urban legends, haunting and what not; the horror story must have every little detail to make it stand out. And that's what I loved about this one, in the book you will find out everything you want to make your day or night scary and give you goosebumps.

This has a story based on Villagio Hotel and it's chilling secrets.

I really applaud the author for doing this tremendous job with the book!!
Loved the book, unputdownable!!

Highly recommended. Give this one a try!

FAB - BOOK REVIEW OF "Check - in Check out" by
Keran Pantth Joshi

Genre - Horror

Rating - 5/5

One of the best books I have read. Yes, I get typical nightmares, so I don't tend to read many horror genres/books because I know what will happen on that night, hahaha...
But when I started reading this book, I was awestruck because I do take a lot of time to read a horror genre book. Still, this book intrigued me with the title and the blurb, so I completed reading this book within a sitting.
.
The short stories in the book were top-notch and spine chilling— It set in the Villagio hotel. The stories divided into two parts :
1. About nine customers were checked in and checked out of the hotel.
2. About the history of the hotel.
The book will keep you intrigued from the start to the end. It is my second spooky book(yeah, I am not a person who reads many horror books), and it is more dreadful than the first one x1000 times. The cover page is so spooky, obviously. The title is different from all the other books that made me read this book so badly. As you all know that I love to explore more books by young and new authors. I tried this book, and this didn't disappoint me. I am telling this from the bottom of my heart to the author of the book - Keran, you have such a long way to go; write more n more and keep us(readers) delightful with your writing.
