An Insta-love Alpha Firefighter and Curvy Woman Romance

Patty
As a country girl from a rural town I knew being a freshman at Berchmans University, the largest university in Kestrel County was going to be hard.
I did not expect all of the drama that came my way on my very first day there.
I was so inexperienced. I’d never met someone like Alex back in my hometown.

Alex
Having lost everything at a young age, as a reformed frat-boy-turned-firefighter I had turned my life around and was now living in Burbridge City.
When the fire alarm went off at the university, I came face-to-face with the life I had left behind, and a girl for whom I was willing to make sure that my past stayed in the past.
It seemed to be going all fine, but something was wrong.

Sweet and steamy short story. Insta-love romance with an alpha firefighter and curvy woman. NO cheating.

I couldn't get into this story. To me, the connection between Alex and Patty wasn't established enough in the beginning to make the rest of the story believable. We are told they talked for hours upon their first meeting but I feel like not enough of that first meeting was included. There was more dialogue between Patty and her new friends at the beginning of the book than between Patty and Alex.

This book read like YA to me, primarily because Patty and Alex both came across as younger than their years in their thoughts and actions. Their reactions to things seemed immature.

As far as the writing, the style reminded me of fanfiction. It was choppy and didn't flow well. Particularly, the sex scene needed more details to flow smoothly. For example, when Alex asked Patty if she had climaxed, I was surprised when she confirmed she had because it wasn't clear in the scene.

Overall, I give this short story 1.5 stars.

Patty is a freshman at college away from home for the first time when she meets Alex. Something happens and a fire alarms goes off at college scaring everyone Patty is upset and Alex ends up finding her crying outside and tries to comfort her. They start seeing each other after that day and things heat up between them. However someone in her sorority house knows Alex and tells her that he is a playboy. This has Patty pulling away from Alex right when they were to have their first official date. Will Alex find out why she is pulling away? Can they find their way back to each other?

This is a great story that once I started it I couldn't put it down. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Alex was a quick and steamy story that will leave a smile on your face. Alex and Patty meet on Patty's first day at college. Alex is a firefighter with the Kestrel County Fire Department called to the university after a fire is reported on campus. When he finds a crying Patty in the garden, he is drawn to her. Their attraction is undeniable and intense. Looking forward to Maxine's story next.
