Leer un tomo de esta gran saga siempre es como volver a casa. Adoro a cada personaje y espero con ansias leer ya el siguiente🥰

Interesante, sobre todo la primera mitad. Lo de la reina fue muy fantástico y tal, pero no sé por qué me metí más en las historias iniciales (La reina del título ni siquiera se mencionó hasta el 49% del libro. No lo eché de menos, eh?. El espectro helado ese aterrorizador me tuvo de lo más entretenida y el ogro ese que casí se carga a los bichinos😢).
Los reyes... bueno, el rey y su hermano, me caen gordísimos.
Por cierto ya barruntaba yo que la enfermedad del profe jefe no era normal. No era un gran barruntar, de todos modos 😂😂😂 era muy obvio.
Esto en realidad ha sido media aventura de la reina esa, porque como tienen que volver... pero entre otras subtramas, incluso más potentes que la supuestamente principal, por aventuras no quedamos.

Disappointing
In book 8 , book 8 . the main character still hasn't come close to his potential. He has tool which are used very little . A giant pool of magic but no realm use for it. If not s for his friends and strange pet I would say he would be dead. Disappointing a land rule by a unlikable tyrant who garners undying loyalty. I suppose the youth audience doesn't find this abnormal. I see no reason to continue.

Ya estaba un poco cansado de tanto libros sobre su entrenamiento y, por fin, salen de esa rutina. El libro ha estado muy bien introduciendo nuevas cosas, aunque quedan que evolucionen un poco los personajes que siguen siendo los niños del principio.

I've really enjoyed these books - some more than others, but I feel the series is spinning in place a little bit. How long is it going to take Lasgol to get to his potential? The love story is a bit dragging and can we please stop with Ingrid and Viggo. goodness. Camu is getting a little bit worn as well. This series probably needs to wrap up in a book or two

So much page space is wasted on repetitiveness. A lot of the book comes off as filler. Characters are extremely shallow and spend entirely too much time patting each other on the back instead of talking about things that actually matter.

This was another fun instalment for this series - I'm seriously loving how this middle grade series has become the gift that keeps on giving.
The adventure was something a little different for this one, too! As the overall story progresses, and the characters develop & their responsibilities change, it's been interesting to see how Urvi can still tether their missions/stories together in a central way. I've been dubious about it, thinking that surely we'll hit a wall where favourite characters go too long without being up front and centre to the story, but somehow, he keeps pulling it off.
I really do love following Lasgol and his friends in each book. Not to mention both Camu and Ona are such fabulous (and hilarious!) little sidekicks. One of the things I appreciated most about this, was the way that so many of the Snow Panthers found their way back together again to face the challenge of this story, and it didn't feel forced. It's been a while since we've had a book with so many of them in the same room, so to speak, so this was great fun.
The new places and people we meet in this book are super interesting (slightly weird, too). But I enjoyed how their broadened the scope of the world and added something a little extra to the bigger picture of what Lasgol and his friends are ultimately trying to achieve.
This also leaves us with some major things unresolved and has me super keen to pick up book 9 (I can't believe I'm this far through the series already!) to see how those loose ends will be tied up.

I definitely like seeing the characters as graduates Rangers on missions better then I did when they were still in training (both at the camp and the shelter). Although I do think that as they’re in their early twenties and have quite a lot of experience and growing up under their belts then they shouldn’t be acting like 12 year olds. They’re obviously still young but like Percy Jackson was mature at 15 then the Panthers are now at 21 (at least I think they’re 21, I may be a year off in either direction).
- Lasgol I’m honestly disappointed in for a reason I will explain in the spoiler tag at the bottom. But if I put his unlikeable decision aside then I am literally still neutral about our MC. Like he’s alright and he makes a good MC but I like the side characters more.
- Astrid I like as a person (it’ll make sense below), she’s pretty cool and I like her and Viggo’s friendship. But she’s still honestly a mystery which is strange.
- Ingrid seems different. She’s not as badass as she used to be and really just seems to be their for the feminists rn (I am a feminist though and think that her character rn is like that scene in Endgame that felt so forced it just ruined it) so I really really hope she goes back to being the badass captain we used to know.
- Viggo I’m always going to love, that’s just a fact. And sure, he can be jerk sometimes and he’s rude but in like an endearing way. And his strong loyalty was proved in this book yet again so I liked that. You can see he’s kind of changing and developing and I love where it’s going.
- Gerd didn’t really feel present in this one which was weird.
- Nilsa I’m sort of back to disliking a bit because of her whole “fIlThY mAgIc” thing but if she could just get past that then I really do believe I would like her.
- Camu is growing and learning and I think he’s reached a stage where he’s a little less rebellious and that is great. His magic is growing and so is the mystery of it but unfortunately I don’t think we’ll learn any answers for a while.
- The Mage (I can’t spell his name lol) I actually liked from the start and had predicted he would end up being a friend and learning of Lasgol’s magic. I think he’ll come in in later books as a helpful side character.
Throughout the series so far I’ve noticed a bunch of words, descriptions and phrases that are repeated way to many times and at this point it’s getting almost unbearable. A few of these being—
Looking as if he had never so much as broke a plate in his life. (mostly regarding Viggo and Camu)
She kissed him with so much passion that it left him breathless. (ick, plz stop)
I find Astrid and Lasgol rather annoying, there’s just no actually chemistry between them. Like if I must read romance then at least let it be good. I actually ship Valeria and Lasgol for several reasons I won’t get into now and since she’s very persistent I think there is a chance for them in the future as there are plenty more books published with more on the way. And I have really nothing against Astrid as a person, in fact she’s pretty cool, but she is in the way and therefore must be dealt with accordingly.
*deep sigh* Mr. Urvi, I have been waiting very patiently for my OTP to get together (ok that was lie, I seriously ranted very passionately to my brother about it after finishing this one) but I can see you setting it up, so why don’t you just hand it over already because the tension has been building up for 8 books now!
I have been expecting one of the Panthers to die at some point soon because like you can’t have 7 main characters and have them all live through a series that is rather quickly inching toward 20 books. Someone is going to die at some point! and I think I know who, and I hope I’m wrong because he’s a sweetheart. You can have Astrid, take her. Or Captain Fantastic. Heck take them both, they’re ruining my OTPs.
I swear every time there’s a rather questionable mention in this series I kind of just sit there in silence like “I really should have read these before my little brother did” because even if he doesn’t get the dirty jokes (which are hilarious btw) and other stuff, they’re still there and to my brother it’s going to end up being like that scene in C.12 of The Icebound Land with Horace and the “couriers” were to me 😂
Mmkay now for my disappointment in Lasgol… ok I’m done now.
I have been told by my brother that I’ll probably like the next one better than this one. (at this point though I’m only one book behind him so here soon enough we’ll both be waiting for our next audible credit so we can get the tenth book). I have actually noticed that every other book has been getting the same rating with evens getting 3 stars and odds getting 4 which is rather strange but hasn’t changed yet.

Definitely the worst out of this series. The are all the same so far nothing really puts the characters at risk, so its very boring to read. They all try to end on a cliff hanger but its not really a cliff hanger. No twist, no shocks, just friends talking mostly with a little bit of action. felt like a filler book lol

Can't wait for the next book
This is the first of your books that I have not been thrilled to read. When I wrote the title I was saying that I am waiting for a return to form. This book was filled with filler - and it wasn't until Chapter 22 that the story got going. The first 7 like took me in the first pages and swept me up till the end. Not this one. Please please let book 9 be like the first books

Me ha gustado el inicio del libro con la misión de rastreo y caza que llevan a cabo Lasgol, Ona y Camu y vemos como han mejorado sus habilidades y forma de luchar en equipo. También esa angustia que viven los tres tras la pelea y cómo, a partir de este momento, empiezan a tener una mayor conciencia de los peligros a los que se pueden enfrentar. Después tenemos un breve impasse más relajado y cómico en el que vuelven a Skad con Marta y Ulf que se agradece siempre.
Respecto a la segunda parte, Lasgol "comanda" un ejercito para enfrentar a los pueblos del Continente Helado y el espectro que nos presentan en el libro anterior. En este viaje conocemos un poco más sobre las ambiciones del Guardabosques Primero y también acerca de la magia y los artefactos mágicos dado que Lasgol ayudará en la batalla a los magos de hielo con el fin de derrotar al espectro. Sin embargo, no lo consiguen y tras retirarse se embarcan en una nueva aventura en busca de otro artefacto mágico.
Esto ocurre más o menos a mitad del libro, y en mi caso me ha parecido más entretenida esta primera mitad antes de nombrar a la Reina Turquesa, trama que a priori debería ser la más relevante dado el título del libro.
Lasgol se embarca junto al mago del Rey, Astrid y el resto de miembros de las panteras de las nieves, salvo Egil, en busca de un artefacto con el que intentar matar al espectro. Para ello tienen que navegar a unas islas misteriosas y desconocidas por la mayoría donde está la Reina Turquesa, la dueña del artefacto. Durante el viaje se encuentran unos piratas y te muestran la forma de pelear tanto de los Guardabosques como del Mago, pero nada destacable. Lo que sí me gustó es la forma de describir las islas, los habitantes de éstas y su forma de vivir. Además del enfrentamiento contra la Reina Turquesa (de nuevo Camu salvando el día).
Tras este encuentro la Reina accede a entregarles el artefacto a cambio de eliminar a un mago oscuro que amenaza con atacar sus islas y de devolverles el artefacto una vez terminen de usarlo. El enfrentamiento con este otro mago se resuelve rápidamente y no se le da demasiada importancia, pero si que me ha llamado la magia de transformación que utiliza mezclando humanos con animales marinos como pulpos o cangrejos.
Una vez finalizado regresan con la Reina Turquesa y les entrega el artefacto, no sin antes obligarles a que Astrid se quede junto a ella como garantía de que Lasgol regresará a devolvérselo. Así pues parten de nuevo a Norghania para encontrarse con que la capital está rodeada de soldados del Continente Helado y han estado muy cerca de conquistarla.
El final del libro me parece muy acertado introduciendo varias tramas, una el regreso a las islas para devolver el artefacto a la Reina Turquesa y salvar a Astrid (con esto queda explicado qué pasa en la batalla anterior) y otra más misteriosa con Egil.
Ciertamente me ha gustado el libro, sobre todo las interacciones entre personajes, y me ha parecido entretenido pero no deja de ser un libro valle en la historia de los protagonistas. Tenemos varias tramas secundarias que me han gustado mucho más que las principales (enfrentamiento contra el espectro, que me parece bien llevado y ya se cierra en este libro, y la Reina Turquesa) y es por esto mismo que lo considero un libro correcto pero por debajo en cuanto a relevancia que otros, como por ejemplo el anterior. Aún así las dos tramas que deja abiertas me resultan super interesantes y me han dejado con ganas de saber qué ocurrirá, sobre todo con la de Egil.
Respecto a la segunda parte, Lasgol "comanda" un ejercito para enfrentar a los pueblos del Continente Helado y el espectro que nos presentan en el libro anterior. En este viaje conocemos un poco más sobre las ambiciones del Guardabosques Primero y también acerca de la magia y los artefactos mágicos dado que Lasgol ayudará en la batalla a los magos de hielo con el fin de derrotar al espectro. Sin embargo, no lo consiguen y tras retirarse se embarcan en una nueva aventura en busca de otro artefacto mágico.
Esto ocurre más o menos a mitad del libro, y en mi caso me ha parecido más entretenida esta primera mitad antes de nombrar a la Reina Turquesa, trama que a priori debería ser la más relevante dado el título del libro.
Lasgol se embarca junto al mago del Rey, Astrid y el resto de miembros de las panteras de las nieves, salvo Egil, en busca de un artefacto con el que intentar matar al espectro. Para ello tienen que navegar a unas islas misteriosas y desconocidas por la mayoría donde está la Reina Turquesa, la dueña del artefacto. Durante el viaje se encuentran unos piratas y te muestran la forma de pelear tanto de los Guardabosques como del Mago, pero nada destacable. Lo que sí me gustó es la forma de describir las islas, los habitantes de éstas y su forma de vivir. Además del enfrentamiento contra la Reina Turquesa (de nuevo Camu salvando el día).
Tras este encuentro la Reina accede a entregarles el artefacto a cambio de eliminar a un mago oscuro que amenaza con atacar sus islas y de devolverles el artefacto una vez terminen de usarlo. El enfrentamiento con este otro mago se resuelve rápidamente y no se le da demasiada importancia, pero si que me ha llamado la magia de transformación que utiliza mezclando humanos con animales marinos como pulpos o cangrejos.
Una vez finalizado regresan con la Reina Turquesa y les entrega el artefacto, no sin antes obligarles a que Astrid se quede junto a ella como garantía de que Lasgol regresará a devolvérselo. Así pues parten de nuevo a Norghania para encontrarse con que la capital está rodeada de soldados del Continente Helado y han estado muy cerca de conquistarla.
El final del libro me parece muy acertado introduciendo varias tramas, una el regreso a las islas para devolver el artefacto a la Reina Turquesa y salvar a Astrid (con esto queda explicado qué pasa en la batalla anterior) y otra más misteriosa con Egil.
Ciertamente me ha gustado el libro, sobre todo las interacciones entre personajes, y me ha parecido entretenido pero no deja de ser un libro valle en la historia de los protagonistas. Tenemos varias tramas secundarias que me han gustado mucho más que las principales (enfrentamiento contra el espectro, que me parece bien llevado y ya se cierra en este libro, y la Reina Turquesa) y es por esto mismo que lo considero un libro correcto pero por debajo en cuanto a relevancia que otros, como por ejemplo el anterior. Aún así las dos tramas que deja abiertas me resultan super interesantes y me han dejado con ganas de saber qué ocurrirá, sobre todo con la de Egil.

En este Viggo me dio mucha risa, su sarcasmo y su manera de hablar con el enemigo en forma de pez era divertido.
En el libro anterior vimos a un espectro del hielo que se conjuró y que era amenazante, por lo que al intentar enfrentarse a él los magos del rey no pudieron derrotarlo, por lo que Eiceward necesita que se encuentre un objeto mágico que está en posesión de una reina que se llama Reina Turqueza, para esta misión solo ca el mago del rey Eiceward y una serie de guardabosques seleccionados y son

La reina Turqueza les dice que les dará el objetivo mágico siempre y cuando tiene que matar a un rey que está intentando conquistarla a ella y sus islas y que lo está causándoles estragos, ahí es cuando conocen la magia de transformación, que es cuando un mago poderoso utiliza magia de muerte y cambia a una persona y lo fusiona con un animal, en este caso un animal acuático, Viggo se la pasa en grande habiendo cada chiste que puede con ellos en las brasas, con limón y para la cena.
Logran derrotar a ese mago y consiguen el objetivo mágico, no sin antes dejar en alguien en garantía para que regrese la esfera y es Astrid, así que después que vuelven y derrotan al espectro, Lasgol debe volver y en ese momento Egil les manda una carta diciendo que necesita de sus amigos y por ello las panteras se dividen, Viggo Ingrid y Lasgol con Camu y Ona se encaminan para regresar por Astrid y Nissa Gerd y Egil para ayudar a Egil.
Entre las cosas que pasan relevantes el mago Eiceward descubre que Lasgol tiene magia y descubren a Camu que anula magia.

Our beloved intrepid adventurers are back in the middle of a seemingly impossible mission. For this group, is there any other kind?
All they have to do is convince the Turquoise Queen to loan them a priceless object of magic and let them leave with it, trusting them to return it when they are done.
We all know how generous and trusting the monarchy are. Yeah. Right.
The good news; they are all together again, (except for Egol), whose knowledge they could use, but he is much safer where he is.
Getting to the island is half the battle, and the easiest part at that.
They must get the artifact, kill a powerful mage, (not in that order), convince the Queen they will bring the object back when they are finished with the task they have been set, and make it back in time to defeat the Ice Spector.
As Viggo would say, "Piece of cake."
Or maybe sushi would be more accurate.
Will they get what they're after, make it back in time?

Me gustó mucho esta entrega, vivimos un emocionante viaje junto a Lasgol y sus amigos. Conocemos una nueva ciudad y sus habitantes me parecieron de lo más interesantes.
Me gustó mucho Viggo y es que es uno de mis favoritos y su relación con Ingrid me tiene queriendo que se besen y expresen sus sentimientos. También tenemos a Gerd y a Nilsa, al primero lo quiero abrazar y a la segunda decirle que su torpeza me alegra el día. Tenemos a mi querido Egil, quien es un genio de pies a cabeza a quien extraño mucho ya que es el más inteligente del grupo. Y vamos a ver, hay alguien que no me termina de convencer del todo y esa es Astrid, por más que quiera verla como la pareja de Lasgol, no puedo.
Conocemos en esta historia un poco más de los magos de hielo, y también de lo habitantes del continente helado, lo cual me gustó mucho. La prosa del autor es bastante sencilla de leer y a pesar de que cada libro tiene más de 500 páginas no lo sientes tan pensado.
Ya he leído 8 libros de 20 (creo) y hasta ahora he decir que si me gustaría seguir leyendo.

After a long trip across the ocean Lasgol, Astrid, Viggo, Nelsa, and Gerd get to the tropical islands for which they were in search; After meeting the Turquoise Queen she made them do a favor for her before she would allow them to borrow the powerful magic item to take back home to defeat a powerful evil.
As usually there is battles and intrigue for the group that calls them themselves "The Panthers" and one was made to stay on the islands with the Turquoise queen while the rest traveled back home. One almost lost their life.
Now the group is split in half one half headed back to camp where they first met to meet up with Egil and the other 3 are headed back to the Turquoise queen to return the powerful magic item and retrieve their comrade. They know it's what they have to do is easier said than done.

The Snow Panther's get back together, minus Egil.
They set out on a journey with the senior ice mage of the empire, Eicewald, to collect a powerful magic artifact from a previously unknown island-paradise, protected and ruled by the Turquoise Queen. It turns out turquoise is literally the skin color of the inhabitants of this island-state. It is a tropical paradise, and the slow development of Viggo's relationship with Ingrid continues as she reveals some jealousy in Viggo's interest in the native women.
The journey presents challenges like Pirates that are of an appropriate scale for the team to be active participants, and not spectators as they often were during the big battles of previous books.
In the end they succeed in gathering the artifact but have to leave Astrid behind as a hostage until they return after it is used to defeat the specter stalking their home country.

A ver, siento que este es un libro de transición y en el que se busca explorar un poco más el mundo y darnos detalles y vivencias fuera de las de la “trama principal”.
No está mal el libro pero es el que menos me gusta por ahora🤷🏻♀️

Me cansa un poco ya que cada vez que Camu se expresa de forma un poco más elocuente, Lasgol tenga que preguntarse si estará creciendo. Pero vamos a ver! Que el jodio puede que viva hasta los 1000 años!! claro que todavía está creciendo y aprendiendo a comunicarse!!!
Por otro lado, me gustó mucho la forma en que Lasgol eligió a sus compañeros de aventura (es que no podían ser otros☺️) y como excluyeron a Egil a pesar de Lasgol pedir que él fuera incluido. Me parece que fue muy realista todo.

The Path of the Ranger book 8 starts off with bandits and Lasgol hunting them with Ona his snow Panther and the crazy Camu who we still don't know what he is.
The magic creatures in this book are more prevalent which is always great as it shows more fantasy aspects which most of the others you don't see too much.
I love the fact that they are going back to the North and I hope this time they will spend more time there as I would love to know more about the cultures there.
Turquoise Queen I much prefer a name but I think the title needs to be more ominous especially as she is supposed to be a feared magi who everyone is scared of.
It has so much in this book that it just kept me intrigued. Action as well as intrigue what more can you ask for.

Francamente demasiado largo. El tamaño de cada capitulo podría reducir por un cuarto al menos. Cada decision que hacen las panteras es llena de discusión innecesaria. En otras obras tal vez este sea un oportunidad para desarrollar los personajes pero aquí es siempre lo mismo: "sucia magia", ligar con Ingrid, o despreciar contra Viggo. El conflicto también se hace aburrido para mi: no hay razones para pensar que unos de nuestros protagonistas va a morir, y tampoco da mucha espuela a los personajes para cambiar o desarrollar.
Al lado positivo es un buen libro para mejor mi español (fácil pero con palabras y frases desconosidas), y el país nuevo en esta aventura es fascinante (si un poco orientalista).

This part of the series was more of the same. The characters hardly improved, the plot still has holes, and to make things worse, had explicit content for the age group this series is intended for. Plus this series is just repetitive, and it gets boring. There are several scenes where women are in extremely skimpy clothing. One example is a woman that is completely naked besides wearing a grand total of four starfishes to cover inappropriate areas. There is also a scene where a man and a woman are naked in a pond together. I don't think any of this should be included in a series that is meant for 9-12 year-olds. Again, this series was disappointing.

Starts with a nice story about Lasgol on a mission to a farming town in the Northwest that being plagued by animals and people disappearing mysteriously. Then, after a quick visit home, he’s ordered to report to the capitol when he’s told he’s to lead an army to where he saw the ice demon.
After being defeated, they are sent on a long sea voyage to get help.
Nice interesting story, but without any real intense or emotional moments.
Footnote: 1) Olager’s army reminds me of ‘The Pirates of the Caribbean.
Fave scenes: the three traps, Ona meeting Ulf, Camu ‘playing’ with the pirate captain during the battle and getting the mage up the wall.

Good story, even if there are some hiccups in the writing
Redundant words that describe the same thing in the same sentence, missing commas after quotes, missing punctuation, nouns or verbs, repetition of the same expressions over and over, incorrect use of a word, excessive use of hyphens when not needed...this series could use a final line edit and proofreading. That's why I gave it 4 stars.
That said, the story is fun, with good descriptions, endearing characters and lots of heart, great for young adults. So it's relatively easy to overlook the issues and continue with the story.

Al fin pudimos salir del reino, lo cual me alegra ya que pudimos conocer un poco más del mundo de estos libros. Ame el viaje en barco y como Lasgol pidió a todas las Panteras y a Astrid como sus acompañantes, la amistad que tienen todos es admirable y me encanta.
La trama se me hizo bien, a diferencia de otros libros de la misma saga no la sentí tan lenta, pero no sé si es la traducción o así escribe el autor pero aveces hay cosas muy repetitivas como cuando Lasgol habla con Camu o que te vuelven a explicar cosas que ya sabías, no sé.
Pero fuera de eso el libro me gustó, el final me gustó y espero ver qué descubrió Egil y lo que le espera a las Panteras que ahora se encuentran divididas.

well, it's happening. first half of book may have had interesting moments, but it was lacking something. Around the halfway point of the book, I say is when the book really begins literally. Overall, once the Snow Panthers joined in on the adventure the book got interesting. The Turquoise Queen was quite an interesting character with cool magic. The Frozen Scepter was a chilling and powerful foe. The friendship is very important for the series. Once again, the ending tease will have me reading the next book.

Me ha enamorado de principio a fin este libro, no solo la cantidad de acción que esta vez el autor ha querido meter, sino toda esa magia que esta vez se ha podido apreciar…
En este libro se puede apreciar que la amistad que se forjó en el campamento entre todas Las panteras de la nieve, es verdadera, y que ante cualquier obstáculo están allá para cuidarse y apoyarse, sea cual sea el peligro.
Con muchas ganas de saber lo que me espera en los siguientes libros, y saber como acaba esta guerra civil que se disputa en Norghana.
