Seth: Alphas on Fire Series

Rate this book
A high heat bbw firefighter romance short story, featuring a hot firefighter and a curvy woman Marigold Fiery, outspoken, and with an attitude that couldn't fit inside of three bodies- Marigold had always joked that she's plus-sized to match her plus-sized personality. She's never been the shy and silent type, and it showed. Amanda moving back home, seemed to have a domino effect, and their trifecta friendship had been reincarnated. The fact that both Amanda and Callie were suddenly head over heels in love with their partners did leave her somewhat on the fringes of the group. Marigold had tasted love already, and while it was intoxicating and all-consuming while it lasted… just like the fires that he and his friends spend their lives putting out now, their story had flickered and faded. What burns hot eventually has to be put out. She's just got to avoid Seth as much as possible… something that's proving to be difficult with Amanda and Trent getting married and both she and Seth being in the bridal party. Handsome and in her face, how is she supposed to ignore that attraction? And the love that drove her to such distraction years ago? Seth Seth thought he'd never walk down an aisle, not with anyone, which is what had ended his and Marigold’s years' long relationship back then… But now, here he is, walking Marigold down the aisle. Granted, she's not wearing white, and it's not to bind the two of them together for life. Yet still… the setting and the action does something to his chest that he can't explain, and suddenly he's right back in the thrall of Marigold and all things dealing with her. They're supposed to be there supporting their best friends in their wedding, but Seth can't help thinking that he might have made a mistake in his commitment-phobia. How can he make Marigold see that just because marriage terrified him then, it doesn't mean that he was ready to be done with her? Seth is a steamy contemporary short read. It is the third book in the Alphas on Fire Series. It is written for you if you like handsome alpha men with big hearts and sassy, strong heroines.

Seth get's his Latina!!! This is about Seth and Marigold. They dated once, but when Marigold wanted it to move to the next level, he made a mockery of it, so she left him... Now they are back in the same town for the wedding of Amanda and Trent, their friends. Well leave it for a Latin woman to not leave things alone and voice her opinions in which she does when Seth comes in the picture. The love that they each have for each other is still there even if she denies it but its not until the after the wedding that Seth realizes he cannot live without Marigold and her hot temper. This was funny and entertaining to say the least.

It is not a stand alone....so could not get into it as I was missing characters history together

Seth is the third book in the Alphas on Fire series. This is the first book I have read by Brooke Baker so I was not sure what to expect, as you never know if you will click with a "new to you" author. Let me start by saying that I think this author can write. But as I read it became apparent that this story is very much interconnected with the previous books in the series and you really need to read the series in order. I ended up stopping part way through as I felt that I was missing too much of the characters history. So for me this story did not work as a standalone and there are no warnings that it should not be read as one, which perturbed me and left me feeling disappointed.

This was a very cute story of second chances. Up until a year and a half ago, Seth and Marigold had been together since middle school. However, things ended when marriage came up. Now thrown together for the wedding of their best friends, it may be a chance to finally clear the air. The jarring between Seth and Marigold was funny and reminded me a lot of me and my ex. We loved going back and forth with each other and still do to this day as friends. I only wished the book was longer so I could really enjoy these characters.

This is the story of Seth and Marigold. They had dated and she wanted more but he just was not ready. Fast forward a year and a half later and they meet up again when one of their friends get married. The are faced this issues and decisions. At the wedding things are revealed. I liked Marigold she seems like a take no prisoner type person and Seth seemed like he needed the time to figure out what was important. Good story with great characters.

The author has given us characters we can care about. Marigold and Seth had been so much in love until she wanted marriage and he did not. They broke up, but their hearts still belong to the other. How can Seth convince Marigold that he cannot live without her?

The story is a fast paced short read. The story was good, the characters are likeable and have good chemistry. The book can be read under a hour. This is the journey of Seth and Marigold. Seth is going to convince Marigold to give him another chance.
