Rate this book
The sins of her father will be her undoing… unless a hero rides to her rescue.

As the 15th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks nears, Silk struggles to avoid all reminders of the day she was orphaned. She's working hard in her tattoo shop, Silky Ink, and working even harder to keep her eyes and her hands off her bodyguard, Eagle. She'd love to forget her sorrows in his strong arms.
But Eagle is a prospect in the Charon MC, and her uncle is the VP. As a Daughter of the Club, she's off limits to the former Marine. But not for long. As soon as he patches in, he intends to claim Silk for his old lady. He'll wear her ink, and she'll wear his patch.
Too late, they learn that Silk's father had dark secrets, ones that have lived beyond his grave. When demons from the past come for Silk, Eagle will need all the skills he learned in the Marines to get his woman back safe, and keep her that way.

Inking Eagle by Khloe Wren
Charon MC #1. MC romantic suspense won’t erotica elements.
Silk is the daughter of the Charon MC Club where her uncle is VP. Her father died during the attacks on 9/11 and every year on the anniversary, she tries to avoid the memories and loss. 15 years later, some unclaimed baggage of her father’s is found and Silk is being targeted by enemies of the Club for secrets that my be hidden in the suitcase. Eagle, a former marine, is a prospect in the Charon MC Club and fully intends to claim Silk once he patches in. In the meantime, he is assigned as her bodyguard and needs to keep his hands off her and keep her safe.

Exciting, suspenseful, and steamy. A few twists as secrets from years ago are exposed and Silk is in the line of fire. She’s clever. Eagle is mostly macho man and I don’t agree with the beatings he received but that is mostly my preference on avoiding the “dark” aspects of today’s popular genres. It’s intriguing that Silk felt the same when she grew up in the Club and would be aware of the rules and consequences.
The tattoo artists facts were interesting. The one I have was selected from a wall of prepared artwork. Having an artist create something unique might be worth the pain and price. I think the hardest part for me would be figuring out what I wanted. 😂

Reminiscent of early Kristen Ashley

A story within a story! You know what I'm talking about people! An amazingly hot love story in an amazing MC story. Maybe I'm jaded but recent books are short and lack depth. It feels like when main couple get their Hea stories over, I even looked at the remaining pages left in this book and thought hmm look at all that's left what could possibly make this book that long?!? A amazing read is what!!! It has character development, story is told well and flowed effortlessly and you had some hawt scenes that was tastefully told and main characters you loved. New author for me and I'm super stoked I happened upon her!!! Recommend reading! On to Mac's story. P.S. It looks like continued storyline so read in order, another bonus bc I love stories that continue on with characters you love!!

I liked this one, liked how the guys were introduced and how the MC was brought in. I honestly thought that aspect would play a bigger part than it did. But even when the action started to go down it seemed a second thought, yet I have feeling it will play bigger in books to come.

I liked how things evolved between Eagle and Silk, loved that for this horrible time Silk had someone there to comfort her and just be with her. It was a bit odd as up to that point they didn't have much interaction, but it made sense due to where both of them were in relation of hierarchy in the MC.

The things that Silk learned about her family was crazy and it was a good thing that she had the MC to back her because she needed someone fearsome. I also loved that Silk pitched a fit about how the club treated Eagle, glad also that Eagle spoke up for himself with them.

I look forward to reading more in this series and to see what the aftermath of all that Silk learns affects the club.

New author to me and I loved this book... let's hope the rest of the series is just as good if not better.

Eagle and two of his military brothers retired and bought Harley's to travel the country. These guys are not brothers by blood but as close as if they were.

They met the club when they were doing a poker run and was offered to prospect. With their skills they didn't have to do most of the yucky prospect stuff. Eagle met Silk on the poker run and fell hook, line and sinker but as a prospect she is off limits. Prospects can only mess around with the club whores.... not daughters of the club.... she is more niece of the club but her Uncle finished raising her after her parents were killed in the 9/11 attack. Everything that her father was involved in is now coming back on her. She is in danger and Eagle is her protector. Prospects don't know all the information so can he keep her safe. That's going to come back to bite them. Only thing is I don't think the club is the only one keeping secrets.

Great book... adults only please due to language and sex. There's also some talk and pictures of women being forced to take drugs and raped... just letting you know in case it's a trigger. I will make it clear this club is not involved in the drugs and rape.

This was a pretty good read that I read and listened to on audio. Silk works hard at her tattoo "Silky Ink" she grew up in a biker club Charon MC her uncle is VP. Eagle is a prospect, and she is off limits to him. Due to her father's secrets, she has around the clock bodyguards, and he is one of them. I liked both of these characters Eagle is a former Marine he is an alpha male. When Bulldog and Scout got word that the mob was after Silk for something her dad did 15 years prior then they tried to keep Silk constantly watched or on lockdown and she still got snatched. These two had a lot of hot chemistry and Eagle will do whatever he has to in order to get her back. This was my first time reading this author and I love reading about bikers. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling I also liked the narration. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

Mixed feelings on this one.

Silk is the princess of her uncles MC which means she’s off limits to prospects. Puts a real damper on things when she’s been eyeing one in particular since he showed up. Eagle is making her his old lady the second he’s patched in but until then he needs to stay away. Hard to do when he’s been assigned as her personal bodyguard.

While I did think their romance was beautiful, I didn’t care for this particular MC and it’s members. SPOILERS: I couldn’t get past the club beating the shit out of Eagle for something they fucked up on. Sure he had a thing with Silk before he became a patched member but I felt this was so excessive. I loved that Silk made a big deal out of it and left but she came right back because “that’s just how the club works.” It bothered me that she didn’t stick to her word. Book was great up until then.

Just my opinion.

Silky is a daughter of the Charon MC, well that's her title within the club, she's actually the niece of the VP, and owner of her own tattoo studio. Eagle is a former Marine and after being asked to infiltrate the Charon MC and report back to the FBI he prospects into the club, where he sets eyes on Silk for the first time. When things start getting dangerous as Silks fathers past catches up with her Eagle is set as her body guard.

I loved this book, Silk is a tough female with a drastic past, the pain from loosing her family in 9/11 and the yearly tributes hard on her. Eagle is a tough male, typical of what you would expect from someone who has seen war and returned. But he's also soft for her, gentle and loving when she needs it. The storyline was riveting and once immersed I didn't want to pull myself out of the book, who needs sleep right? I love Silk and Eagle and can't wait for more from the Charon MC world. Ms Wren has started a world I want to dive into over and over again.

An entirely new author and subject for me, I was a bit lost about some of the biker language but by the end, I think I had them all covered. I really liked the book and have now got another great author to catch up on. The story centres on three ex-marine bikers who were asked by the FBI to infiltrate a particular biker's gang called the Charons. I heartily recommend this book to anyone.

I really wanted to like this book more than a Three Star review but, it just didn’t click for me. Maybe because he was a prospect, maybe because there wasn’t really any background story, I don’t really know I just wasn’t that impressed. The characters were rather one dimensional and lacked pizzaz or something. Writing wasn’t bad but the storyline was rather weak.

Khloe Wren is a new author to me and I haven't read many MC books but the blurb of Inking Eagle had me hooked and what a great 5 star read this was. I hated having to put it down for a few hours whilst I went out but jumped straight back in as soon as I could and was up reading until the early hours.

I absolutely loved the story of Claudine ‘Silk’ Bennett and Colt ‘Eagle’ Benally who were very hot together and made the most of breaking club rules. Both were damaged by their childhoods but had found their places within the Charon MC and felt like part of the family. Belonging was clearly very important to them, and then finding each other was ‘the icing on the cake’. They both needed that one special person in their life.

This story isn't just about romance, we also get to see how the MC works and the members dealing with the consequences of Silk’s dead father's actions. Inking Eagle will keep you engrossed thought-out as Khloe Wren shows us the danger faced by Silk and her dealing with learning the truth about her father. Eagle is there for her throughout though and ensures she doesn't close herself off like she usually would do.

We get to meet several characters in Inking Eagle and I'm excited for book 2, Fighting Mac, which gives us the story of Jacob ‘Mac' Miller who is one of Eagle’s closest friends. I can't wait to learn more about him and the woman he meets, Claire ‘Zara' Flynn.

I definitely recommend Inking Eagle for anyone who has not yet read it.

Inking Eagle is the first book in the Charon MC series. Silk is the proud owner of her tattoo shop, but is getting curious as to why her Uncle is sending his men to guard her 24/7. The man that catches her eye the most, though, is Eagle, and since he’s still a prospect with the MC club she’s associated with, they can’t touch each other. As the anniversary of her parents’ death draws near, all she thinks about is escaping, but Eagle knows that she’s in danger. After she’s snatched right from under his watch, Eagle knows he’ll fight heaven and hell to get her back and keep her safe, but will he get to her in time to save her, and can they figure out why she’s wanted by the mob?

Wow! What a rollercoaster ride for my emotions! This book just dove right into the action, mystery, and romance, and I did not want to put it down! Silk was amazing, going through so much in this book, her emotions ripped wide open, her past memories torn to shreds, but she really found her rock with Eagle. Eagle was fierce and determined, using all of his skills and resources to keep Silk as safe as he could! I loved how they fought for each other, I loved watching their relationship develop, and it sure was passionate! I was also completely hooked by the plot line and everything that was going on with her father and his boxes that he left behind. I loved reading this book. I was hooked and I already can’t wait to start the next book!

This is the first book that I have read from this author and I'm hooked!!! I will definitely be continuing this series.
This is what I consider a perfect MC for me! I prefer my MC books to have a nice balance of the biker club life (brotherhood) but with some morals and mostly legal undertakings. I like that they are willing to defend all those within the club when totally necessary (handy to have ex-marines with those skill sets) but without the drugs and trafficking etc that is usual in the more darker MC's. Don't get me wrong, other clubs in the book do along with mob's etc but I like where the Charon Club stands.
Silk is very strong and independent and I really liked her as a character and felt she handled everything with sass and strength.
After leaving the Marines, Eagle was looking for a new "family" for himself, Taz and Mac and found it with the MC, starting at the bottom and "patching in".
Silk and Eagle had amazing chemistry (so hot together) and so couldn't really help but break some of the club rules as well as dealing with the consequences of Silk's deceased fathers actions that show us what the MC is willing to do to protect its club members.
Lots of interesting secondary characters that I'm looking forward to reading about, Mac and Taz of course but others in the MC as well.
Overall a amazing start to a series that I am excited to continue with!

Good first book in the Charon MC Series.

INKING EAGLE from Author Khloe Wren is first in the Charon MC series and was also my first read from her. It certainly kept my attention over the course of the day that I read it in, and I know that I'll be needing to read more in the series.

Ms Wren has put together an MC world that I reckon is fairly comprehensive and did a great job of introducing wider characters that had me invested in them already, and I loved the previously formed brotherhood between our hero Eagle and his former marine teammates Taz and Mac. I do feel that the premise that led them into prospecting for the MC could have been capitalised upon a lot more and certainly expected some fallout from this later in the book which never eventuated.

Silk, our heroine was a club daughter so was typically chaperoned I'm guessing, but rumblings on the street led to a heavier presence which meant that as a prospect, Eagle was on bodyguard duty and it was his ‘Eagle-eyed instincts' that saved her from more devastating danger than she already faced.

The chemistry between them was palpable and fairly emanated from the pages along with the clever and sarcastic banter that I really enjoyed. Yep, good reading for sure at 4✨️ ☠️இ*

SHUT THE FRONT DOOR!!!!!

I've never listened khloe wren before and I'm shutting the front door !!!!!😁😁😁😁 for 2 reasons.
It's been awhile since I listened to MC books. So I was really impressed with a good plot line, Good character development and the way Ms Wren keeps them teetering on the fence of the good/bad side of the law. And the next....she's Australian..and so am I....or maybe she just lives here but either way it's bloody cool!
I loved the story, it remained plausible and not light but not gritty either. It was awesome.
Looking forward to the series.
New narrator's for me also, tierans accent was a good fit for Silk and I'm swooning a bit over David. The Aussie accent needs a little work but not enough to make me wince.
So its written deeper than say 'lili atlas' MC story writing but not as dark as Tillie Coles MC series...whoa!!!!!
Just loved it staying true to main cry happenings in a club.
So excited for Mac, the dust cover is intriguing Indeed

I actually listen to this on my audible account and was pleased with Eagle and Silks story.
Eagle and the men he calls brothers are asked to infilterate The Charon Mc club and agree looking for something to give their lives meaning after leaving he service.
The club is pretty straight up and I can respect that but sometimes lessons learned can be pretty harsh (as you will see) yet there was a lot about this club that I liked.
Silk is a bit complex and we learn why as we learn about her past with 9/11 (heart breaking) and the mess her father left for her. Eagle is enthralled with Silk and plans on making her his and for the time being is assigned to protect her from more than one threat.
I felt the author did a great job of expressing her characters trials and pain along with working through the past to heal.
Wonderfully done, I look forward to hearing Eagles best friends stories....I think it promises a lot of heat and maybe even some comedy relief.

An FBI agent convinces three ex-Marines (Eagle, Taz, and Mac) to join a motorcycle club, an MC that is mostly legal and known for keeping their hometown free of drugs and crime. This first book focuses on Eagle and Silky, the niece of one of the club’s VP. The three ex-Marines feel like blood brothers, having no other family. Joining the MC gives them a feeling of a place where they belong. As Prospects they are not allowed to have anything to do with women like Silky, a daughter of the club, which is a problem for Eagle and Silky. If Eagle so much as touches Silky the wrong way he could be beaten.
It was interesting to follow the guys as they kept close together while also blending into the MC. I found the three Marines the most interesting characters in this book, even though Silky was a major character.

4.3 stars.
I loved this story.
I thought the writing was so good. The plot was fun and engaging, keeping me turning the pages, not wanting to put it down so I could see how it all panned out.
The characters were great, too. I loved how strong and independent Silk was. I go into every MC book worrying that it’ll be just another one with an alpha man and a meek little damsel afraid of club life. I totally appreciate that this author gave Silk a backbone and ten tons of sass.
And Eagle. What a sweet guy. So protective and loyal, and completely possessive.
The sex was hot and steamy, completely filthy and passionate.
I thought the ending was perfect, though I prefer more sap in my HEA. I can’t wait to see who snatch up Mac and Taz and the rest of the members we met. So glad I took a chance on this one.

A little bit of fairytale

The plot was well thought out and very intriguing. I thought for sure they would have been found out by the FBI and that took me by surprise. The characters were good and very relatable. I liked how Eagle was and the interaction with the brothers was awesome. There were a few characteristics that turned me off and really bugged me. First and foremost a Mob boss who is seasoned would not be showing emotion and would have been prepared. There is no way they would have given themselves away. Another thing is the information between the brothers were a little unbelievable because this was one of their own and letting things slide was a little out there. However I did like the binding with the families that felt real.

Eagle is the first of three marine brothers to find his HEA after they join the Charon MC...but more like before they join.
Back up 10 months to when the join a toy run and he sees her...if they hadn't planned on joining up before the toy run, they were doing it now!
Drama, more drama, and some good old fashion back stabbing and spying...and we have ourselves the set up for the series.

Eagle is great (of course), but I found myself really liking Silk. She wasn't like TSTL or silly or even "I will never wear a property patch"...she knew the score and wanted in, but not in the "I can do it all myself" way either.

Good characters, good plot and my heart leapt here and there as these two navigated their path.

Enjoy!

Meh

It started off okay, but there wasn’t a lot of tension between the H and the h. There’s a lot of outside plot stuff that happens but not really any “will they or won’t they.”

Another thing that gets me is that these guys are basically betraying the club from the beginning but nothing ever comes of it. They don’t seem to feel conflicted about it, and it doesn’t come up as an interior conflict.

The writing is fine; it’s well-edited with only a few errors. No cheating. A HEA. Definitely a lighter MC, no really dark or heavy 1% stuff. I skimmed parts because it was a little repetitive and not very intriguing. I didn’t really get much from the characters. They’re kind of underdeveloped. But it’s a safe read, if that’s something you worry about.

I have to be honest here - I'm not sure about this book. It's really just OK. It's the first in a long series and I'm going to read book 2 before I give up on this author and series. However, I'm not very confident that the next book will change my mind.

This title, Inking Eagle, has a very plodding plot - there is no excitement or suspense. Even the action scenes are slow and rather boring. As far as the romantic elements go, the sex seems very contrived and uninteresting. Additionally, the characters don't spend any time getting to know one another. How can you 'fall in love' with someone you don't even know? Definitely some character development that needs to happen.

I'm hoping the next book improves my point of view. If not, that will be the end of this series for me.

I met Khloe a few years ago but hadn't gotten around to reading this book till this spring. I have fallen in love with this series.
While I've read books 1, and 5, 6, and 7 (you can read them out of order) but I think it would be better to read them in order. Its just that at Booklovers Convention 2019 she only had these 4 of the Charon MC with her. Even though I've skipped ahead in the story I still want to get the rest. Have to find out how the other couples ended up together. I loved the mystery of this book. Well crafted and a page turner. And its a quick read.
BTW, I've met the models on her cover, and they are the sweetest couple in real life.

Silk has mourned the passing of her parents since they died during 9/11. All those years she didn’t know that her parents weren’t the people she thought they were. Secrets have come back to haunt her and put her life in danger. Eagle and his friends have joined the Charon MC under false pretenses but after being there for a year they realize they have found their home. Eagle has every intention of claiming Silk but he has to keep her safe first.

Story focuses more on Silk and the danger she is in rather than the MC itself. Pretty good story. Will need to continue to read the series.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This first book in the Charon MC series is a fantastic introduction. Eagle and Silk have an instant connection but with MC rules ensuring these two keep their hands to themselves, Eagle will be counting down the days until he can claim her as his. With the sins of the father coming back to haunt Silk it will take Eagle and the rest of the MC to keep her safe. As drama, chaos and mayhem unfold you will be kept right on the edge of your seat not knowing if all will go to plan and if Eagle will finally be able to stake his claim. Inking Eagle is steamy, suspenseful and has just enough grit to keep me glued to the pages.
