Review:
The characters are well rounded and well developed. It’s Christmas time in Sweetwater Springs and that means Glory is busy getting ready for the holiday and she is also helping her Momma host a big fruitcake competition. Things do not go as planned when one of the baker’s turns up dead. Now Glory has to try and figure out who the killer is so their holiday’s are not ruined. With help from her Momma and her daughter Macy, she is on the case.
The writing style flows smoothly and keeps moving at a great pace. The author is very talented in her descriptive writing and these descriptions kept me engaged throughout the entire book. The mystery was well plotted and not easily solved. I was not sure who the culprit was until it was revealed at the end.
I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a well crafted cozy mystery. You should grab a copy and enjoy.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book and provided my honest review.
Sweetwater Springs has been selected to host the biggest fruitcake competition in the south. Glory and Momma are setting the stage for six contestants from six different states. Two of the competitors have a dislike for each other. Someone is after a recipe book containing a fruitcake recipe worth a lot of money. After three attempts to steal the recipe book, one contestant ends up murdered. Follow along as Glory tries to solve the crime.
Glory and her Momma are back! It's Christmas time and I just love books with that cozy, festive feel! The characters have come a long way and feel very realistic. The case was twisty, just the way I like it. I believe this book will appeal greatly to anyone who likes their cozies squeaky clean and inspirational! I loved it!
Glory and Hunter find the winter cook off and festivities more hectic and challenging than anyone could have predicted. Murder, mystery and mayhem abound as Momma deals with surprises as she conducts the county fruitcake cook off, while Glory and Hunter enjoy their blossoming romance amidst suspicion and sleuthing.
I absolutely love time spent with Glory, Momma, Macy, and of course Hunt!! It was great to meet Hunt's folks as well. The mystery was interesting and kept me guessing and I love Glory's compassion even if it ends with her in tense situations. A great read.
The annual fruitcake baking contest is being held in Sweetwater Springs with Momma as chairman. Contestants came from the southeastern states. There were four judges. Then there was a murder....
Glory helps Mamma with the fruitcake takeoff contest. Burglary and death find them determined to clear their friend before she's arrested. This is a lovely series with various threads evolving throughout the series.
This was another great mystery with the added bonus of the start of looking into the circumstances surrounding the death of our girl's husband, which happened at the beginning of the series!
I loved the book! I read it on a hot August day and it took me right to the holidays. The mystery was fast -paced and full of red herrings. Culinary cozies are a favorite of mine and the "bake-off" theme was fun. The sleuthing team of Glory , her Mom, Macy (her daughter) and Kelly (her sister-in-law) make the mystery more fun and relatable.
The reader is treated to two mysteries - the current "case" for the sleuths and the ongoing mystery of Glory's husband's death which started the series! You won't be disappointed!!
I'm starting at the beginning and reading the whole series!
