“I wanted to tell him I loved him. I wanted to touch his cheek, tip his lips down to mine. I wanted to look in those beautiful blue eyes and see my love reflected back at me. But I knew it was all a lie.”
Time heals all things, they say, but it can also wear them down. Even if time, to an immortal, is but a fleeting thought. Faced with an eternity of wear, Lucinda Monk, vampire hunter by birth, confronts the hardest challenge of her everlasting life.
A marriage that has been worn down by time.
Such a simple thing, and yet, the Prophesied never once thought her relationship with the most powerful vampire alive would become mundane. That was for Norms. Not them. Not the golden couple of the Iunctio Council.
But life has a way of throwing curveballs at you, and Lucinda must don her catcher’s mitt once again, or risk losing everything she loves.
This time, though, she has allies and power, and decades of experience walking the treacherous halls of the political arena that is a supernatural life. Just as well, because nothing is as it seems, and soon Luce discovers a mystery with far-reaching consequences, and the possibility of devastation on a scale never before seen.
But she has allies and enough power to face off against anything . . . doesn’t she?
Nicola Claire lives in beautiful Taupo, New Zealand with her husband, two teenage boys and a Miniature Schnauzer named Rudy.
A bit of a romance junkie, she can be known to devour as many as half a dozen books a week if she drinks too much coffee. But her real passion is writing sexy, romantic suspense stories with strong female leads and alpha male protagonists who know how to love them.
So far, she’s written well over 70 books. She might have caught the writing bug; here’s hoping there’s no cure!
OMG, all I can say is WOW, WOW, WOW. Nicola has done it again, she has made me want more. Kindred is back and Lucinda is back fighting darkness. She has to get the support of her family and friends to save her family and friends but the Durand family and extended family stick together, don't they? I couldn't put the book down, its full of what Lucinda does best, Light fighting Dark. Michel is compromised and so Lucinda is left to fight for the two of them. Their love should be everlasting shouldn't it? "Ma douce " no more. Michel has forgotten everything from the recent past and even though he can't remember his Kindred she can. Lucinda never stops loving or fighting for her Michel but her Michel has gone and will this new Michel love her. When the last page turned I needed more, Nicola has opened up a new challenge, a new evil, a new Darklight for the Durand family to vanquish. Nut is not responding and the vampire network is no more. Come on Nicola we need the next book asap.

Nicola does it again🔥 completely loved this story🥰 I can’t wait for more stories☺️ not going to lie I got so worried for my favorite characters more than once and have even been guessing what would happen next. I hope Michael will get his memories back soon 🥺 & that his and luces love story gets back to how they originally were before passing so many years together. & I hope Alessandra dies 😅 why do I have a feeling that we haven’t heard the last of her? Since one of the definitions was Amor certamen.... are they gonna have a huge fight? If so my moneys on Luce 👑 I need more kindred 😩

Just when you thought she had reached a pinnacle, she rises even higher. Ms Claire is an everlasting wonder. Her imagination knows no boundary as she stretches credibility to the extremes. All of her books are held dear to my heart. Long may she continue. This latest Kindred book in the series only serving to reinforce her magic. Another one soon - please?!
