A biker has been found dead and Jill is hired to track down his killer. Grandma, though, is much more concerned about the lido which is about to be closed down. Meanwhile, Winky finds himself out on the streets and it's all Jill's fault.
This far into the series I know that the pattern is to tie up something from previous books, continue an ongoing thread, and have a few self contained mysteries solved. In this book, there were too many threads left hanging.
I have read every book written in the series. I did not finish this one. Halfway through I had enough. There was little of Jills investigations. It was all Florence and Jills family. I didn’t find it interesting at all. Im sure some readers liked it. But it just didn’t work for me. I won’t read any more.
Another fun read in the Witch PI series by Adele Abbott.
Jill is tasked to find the compass stones & she's got a clue where to find the first one.
Her cases include the mysterious death of a biker in the human world. Meanwhile Grandma demands Jill is looking into the rumours that the lido in Candlefield is closing. What will she discover?
The formula is as simple as ever, but the jokes, the foamy affairs, never get boring. A light hearted read..
Winky is planning to go camping. (Maybe he'll be eaten by something? One can always hope.) There's a murdered biker, Lizzie has a broken leg, another murder and a motorcycle club. Mrs. V wants Winky gone (good idea.)
Lizzie decides she wants to be a ghost hunter. A new landlord plans to raise the rent almost 30% at the PI building. Then there's the Jill Maxwell Appreciation Society. Pretty much a standard yet good book in this series.
As always Jill cleans up the crime in her town and in the paranormal world. She never disappoints. Look forward to her continuing to be a PI. Her, Jack and Florence are such a cute family. Throw grandma in the mix and it is quite entertaining.
Fun to read. The adventures never end for Jill. With threat looming over Florence, Jill's quest, Winky's cleverness and Great Grandmother's dry humour, one cannot get enough. Must read!
Winky oh Winky, you are a naughty one..... He is always so Wiley and conniving but would we want him any other way? Jill once more rises to the occasion in this interesting tale.
So far after 40 books the series is still readable. I keep waiting for the moment when I realize it is just repeating the same story with minor changes, but surprisingly the series is still enjoyable. So can I recommend the series... Yes!
Great continuation of a fantastical series. The scenarios are so great, and such clever writing. I love books in which I can't easily suss out the endings. These books are GREAT!
In chapter 9 the caterpillars mentioned were red with yellow spots. In the last chapter when they came out as butterfly’s, they were yellow with red spots!!! How does the author make that kind of mistake??? That is just awful!
Like always...an entertaining story. I enjoyed every word. I like the paranormal storyline and the innocent charm of the number one character and how the story always impacts her. Her name is Jill and she is as p0 and
These are just fun to read. I sandwich them in between my more serious reading when I need an escape, or if I’ve watched too much news and the world is in gloom and doom mode.
