Just as the pieces start to come together, they are shattered again.

Amina Haddad returned home victorious and proud. She had fulfilled her promise of finding new refuge for the Notzrim people before the enemy could discover their underground whereabouts. However, after discovering the mysterious disappearance of her twin brother Aiden, her world quickly shatters again. Convinced he’s still alive, Amina heads for enemy territory determined to rescue her brother, no matter the cost.

Before leaving, Amina charges the Hebrew newcomer Salome with the daunting task of safely guiding the Notzrim people to her home in the mountains. Further complicating matters is that the Notzrim people are not welcome among the Hebrews, and Salome knows it. Now afflicted with an impossible internal conflict, will Salome follow through with her promise to Amina, or will the fear of banishment for disregarding her chief’s orders prevent her from completing such a courageous task?

Meanwhile Aiden, still alive but held captive in the luxurious capitol, is surprised to discover the identity of his captor and the extraordinary lengths they are willing to go to entice him to stay. The only question that remains is whether Aiden is willing to give up everything he believes in for this new and unexpected opportunity.

Things heat up in this second book of The Search series. After the slight cliffhanger from book 1, we are thrown back into the action, wondering whether Aiden will escape the mess he has gotten himself into and whether the Notzrim will make it to where they hope to make their new home.

Britney Farr really shows her growth as a writer in this second installment alongside her characters' growth. I enjoyed this second book even more than I did the first one. It was easier to follow which character's perspective we were reading, the writing flowed better, and oh boy, the twists just kept coming. I am eager to see how she ends this series.

A good story continues!

I was wondering how Britney was going to continue the story. Very surprising! I like the direction she went. The first story did not seem to hint at the way the second story goes. She leaves us guessing and does a wonderful job answering. Z few new characters join the story and help the plot along. Cannot wait until the third book!

Searching for Direction is just as well written as the first book . The characters are strong and relatable. The reader can't help but become attached to characters and feel their emotions throughout the story. I can't wait for the next book in this series.

“Paxton, I don’t see anything. Let’s just keep going,” Amina said, about to move.
“No, stop!”
“What?” Luckily, she hadn’t moved.
“You stepped on a pressure plate, you move, and whatever trap is set will go off.”
Amina’s eyes rounded. “Okay, what do we do?”
“Josiah and Maya, I need you to go back up the stairs. I’m going to move to the bottom. When we’re clear, and I tell you to, you need to leap as fast and as far as you can down the stairs. I’ll try to catch you.”
“What! You can’t see anything.” Her voice was shrill. “What if it doesn’t work?”
“That’s all I got. We don’t have any way of transferring weight or turning off the sensor. It’s built into the step, and it’s foolproof.”
Paxton rubbed the back of his neck. He hated seeing her like this. “Amina, I need you to be brave right now. You can do this.”
Paxton ran to the bottom of the stairs while Josiah and Maya went to the top.
“Okay, we are safe.” Maya spoke. “May the angels of Sabaoth give you wings, Amina.”
Paxton stood in the darkness, blindly waiting. “I’m set. Ready on the count of three. One. Two. Three.”
A loud yell echoed in the hallway. Several rapid beeps pierced his ears. Then came a high-pitched scream of pain and a thud.
A second later Amina slid into Paxton’s feet, knocking him to the ground.
