My first foray into the A/o genre turned out to be a rather pleasant experience. The writing was concise, descriptive without overused details and extremely well edited.
Though a short novella, the story introduced me to a genre I have never read before. I learned the basic terminology, how mating is accomplished and of what the Alpha "burn" is comprised.
Without giving the entire plot away, this is nearly all I am able to put into words, except to say that you are looking for an easy to read introduction into the world of Alphas, omegas, mating and its unique terminology, I would recommend this book. Enjoy!
RE-READ 6/28/25 - I've discovered and have been reading the full series this week, so decided to re-read this one along with the new-to-me stories. I'll keep my original 3.5-star rating for it, but I'm pretty sure I enjoyed it more this time around than I did originally, simply because I've got the context of the whole omegaverse world now 😊
ORIGINAL READ 11/19/20 - 3.5☆ ... first time reading this author. Sweet and hot, but I think there's an art to making a short story feel like a COMPLETE story, and it's not to tack on an HEA epilogue IMHO
Different to any other Omega/Alpha story I've read - but very intriguing and decidedly hot! Loved the interactions between the characters and the unfolding of the plot elements. Very quick but highly entertaining.
I have been following the Omega Misfits series from the beginning and didn't hesitate to download this novella when I came across it. Since I never read the synopsis of a series as I like to be pleasantly surprised by what the author writes about. Boy did I get a surprise this time. Of course the young men raised at the Zilly's Omega Farm are prepared to assist Alphas during their Burns. I anticipated this. What I didn't imagine was a story about Daddies, Littles, diapers, spankings, and the introduction of sounds. This is most certainly an erotic romance.
I'm not a fan of Daddies & Littles but for the sake of series continuity I continued to read the story. Later I saw that the author mentioned this could be a standalone novella. While uncomfortable at times I perceived and completed the story. Luckily it was shorter than the regular Omega Misfits novels and Wendy Rathbone was gentle with me & the young man as he was introduced to his first Alpha's proclivities. Everything was explained and the young man was given choices in what he participated in. And luckily the Alpha was more persuasive than coercive.
I recommend this story with the caution that you need to be open minded when you read it and expect to learn something new.
A Daddy alpha & a virgin boy. Can they make it work?
I love this series! What a unique take on the omegaverse. Alpha burns instead of omegas heats. Chattel farms raising omegas to help alphas through the burn. It is a new dynamic, one that will leave you questioning what you think you know about alpha/ omega relationships. This story features Noah, newly turned 18; a virgin eagerly awaiting his first time in the mating hall. It is every omega's dream to find an alpha to bond with. Elijah wants not just a virgin, but a boy to call him Daddy. As they explore the Daddy/ boy dynamic, they will come to crave each other. Yes, there is kink. Spankings, cock cages, bathing, sounding, and good, old- fashioned sex. Parts of it will leave you breathless. You are gonna enjoy this book! Do yourself a favor and read the other books in this series. Time. Well. Spent. This book contains adult themes and language, mm sex and is intended for mature readers only.
In this novella Omega Noah is at Zilly's Chattel Farm and has just turned eighteen and so eagerly awaiting his first time servicing an Alpha. Warden Chiri calls him into his office to discuss his first client who has chosen Noah for his beauty, youth and virginity agreeing to pay a premium price for him. However, the client has some fetishes that the warden has to discuss with him and get his consent before the agreement is made. The Alpha wants Noah to call him Daddy and many other requirements.
This was an interesting take on an Omegaverse Chattel Farm story merged into a BDSM-like DDLB story. I like the gentleness that Noah was treated with and the way that everyone was so careful with him about knowledge and consent. I was pleased with the ending although it would have been far better with more detail so that I enjoyed it rather than just consumed it. Easy to read and understand. This is a MM story containing mature content and set in the Omegaverse with Mpreg.
Very sexy Omegaverse daddy kink short story. I'm torn as to whether this is a 4 or 5 star review. For a short story, it's steamy and fun. That said, I wanted more. I've read most of the Omega Misfits series and feel this could have been a seventh in that series. Noah has benefitted from the changes made at the farm by Orion and his mate. Let's hear more about those changes. Elijah's stern photo yet caring daddy personality are somewhat at odds. Why is that? So, 5 stars for what it is but I think these men have more story to tell.
I’ve never read an omega verse age play story before, but this one hit all the right buttons! :-) So cute and sweet (and sexy). Such lovely writing as well, very descriptive. Great story overall!
This short story is a sweet, gentle first time story from the Omega's point of view. It has the requisite HEA and the sex is delightfully steamy. I highly recommend this book.
Alpha Daddy by Wendy Rathbone is part of the Omega Misfits universe and is a quick but tantalizing read. The story is a touch of sweet with a lot of sexy.... daddy kink and a Boy's first time.... its a great compliment to the series.
Daddy kink can be hot, but this one did not work for me. Too creepy with the innocent baby stuff, and it was completely devoid of any relationship development. I was surprised since I enjoyed the first two books of this series so much. This one was lazily done in comparison.
The universe for this author’s Omega Misfits series is different from most omegaverse I’ve read, and honestly it’s not my favorite. However, I loved this short story. Elijah (Daddy) was so gentle with Noah (boy), but they were freakin’ hot!! It was scotching you my kindle. This is a 5 star read for me & mainly because the author gave me such a sweet epilogue.
I've never read any of the Omega Misfits series. However, I still enjoyed this book! It was a sweet read about Noah and his first Alpha. Daddy kink, so if it's that not your thing, move along!
