Playing With Fire: A Young Adult Fantasy (Arcturus Academy Book 0), my twenty-fifth read from author A.L. Knorr. WOW! Extremely well written, the characters, even the minor ones, are well developed with an attention-grabbing storyline. I’m a character reader, I get into the characters. Who and what they are. Why they do the things they do. The things that make the reader get invested in the characters and thereby the story. The lead into her new Arcturus Academy series I’ll be reading more from this author! Next up is Firecracker (Arcturus Academy #1)! (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018)
A delightful starter book. Saxony is going to Arcturus Academy to learn fire magic for mages. Orientation started and some of her friends are there also. During orientation a intruder gets into one of the buildings and Saxony goes after him. Her friends doesn't know she is already an advanced fire mage, so Saxony thinks she can help capture the intruder. After missing to get the intruder, she finds out the best thing she can do is get more training and advanced skills. Good book.
