Maybe It's Fate

Rate this book
Reckless is my middle name.
Guess that’s why I got a medical discharge from the military.
A fighter pilot with no plane to fly is a very unhappy boy. So commercial airlines, here I come.
Thanks to a bit of serendipity, I end up in Fiji with a hot as hell, broken-hearted woman.
Poor thing got stood up at the altar and decided to go on her honeymoon anyway.
The man who did it must be an idiot. This woman is everything any man would want in his life or his bed.
We’re complete opposites. She’s a planner and I fly by the seat of my pants.
Time to get her out of her comfort zone—in more ways than one.
This woman is mine for the time being.
Unfortunately, time flies, and we part ways, a misunderstanding on my part.
But lo and behold, fate showed up
Looks like I’m in trouble with HR. Again.
Just my luck on who HR is… I’ll let you guess.
With all we did in Fiji, this straitlaced beauty is having trouble reconciling her feelings for me and her ethics.
Good thing I’m bad enough for the both of us.
Maybe it’s right. Hell, maybe it’s wrong.
Or maybe it’s fate?

Hey there. I'm Weston.

Have we met? No? Well it's time to end that tragedy.

I'm a former firefighter/EMS guy who's picked up the proverbial pen and started writing bad boy romance stories. I co-write with my sister, Ali Parker, but live in Texas with my wife, my two little boys, my daughter, two dogs, three cats, and a turtle.

Yep. A turtle. You read that right. Don't be jealous.

You're going to find Billionaires, Bad Boys, Military Guys and loads of sexiness.

Something for everyone, hopefully. I'd love to connect with you. Check out the links below and come find me.

This story hooked me from page one. Lindsay was due to get married because she felt it was time even though she wasn’t really feeling it. When the groom stands her up, she takes it with a grain of salt until she goes on her honeymoon and everything seems to be against her. Her luggage is missing, a missed ride and to top it off, her room was double-booked and given to the other couple. Enter Jaxon, he finally listened to his mom and took some time off. He just happens to be in the same hotel that Lindsay is where he hears her talking to her friend about everything that is going on. He decides to help her out and have a place to stay while he is there. The chemistry and attraction between them was so good. I really enjoyed them as a couple. They fit together so well, and it was fun to watch them fall in love. There will be a few bumps in the road that they will have to overcome but it will be worth it so they can have the HEA they both want and deserve. Loved it and highly recommend this read.

Maybe it's fate is an opposites attract romance featuring a fly-by-the-seat of his pants risk taker and an organized straitlaced planner. This book has a great storyline, characters, chemistry, emotions, and misunderstandings which all leads to a happily ever after.

Can you find your “one” on the rebound?

Lindsay was left at the altar. She couldn’t believe it! Will was supposed to be her one and only. How could she have missed it? What is she going to do now? Her BFF Ember talks her into going on her honeymoon anyway since it’s already paid for. Take sometime and re-evaluate what she wants to do from now on.

Jaxon is burning the candle at both ends, he has vacation time saved up, but being a pilot for a major airline, flying to all sorts of exotic places - where would he even go? His BFF, Karan talks him into taking sometime off so he emails his HR dept., leaves a few voicemails and takes off.

By some of the craziest turn of events, she runs into Jaxon, whom she’s never met, at the hotel. It’s at this point neither one would have guessed their lives would have started down this road but they’re so glad they did.

What would you do if you are stood up at the altar? Lindsay goes on her honeymoon. There she meets Jaxon under some crazy circumstances.

Jaxon and Lindsay embark on a fake marriage that leaves you wondering why they are not married yet. Yet these two are very different, she plans every aspect of her time while he just moves with the flow. Can they walk away from this fake marriage after a week together? Or will they catch "feelings"?

This story is an amazing read as only Weston Parker can give. It is a page-turner, funny and the characters are very endearing.

Reasons I enjoyed this book:

Easy-to-read, Entertaining, Page-turner, Romantic, Unpredictable, Witty

She's marrying a man, just because.
She's not really feeling it but it's time.
Her best friend tries to talk her out of it.

Then,

He leaves her at the altar.
Escapes the church without even talking to her.
Her best friend talks her into going on her honeymoon to Fiji.

Her trip starts as a disaster until she meets Jaxon. An airforce tatted up alpha pilot who rescues her by pretending to be her new husband to get them a suite at a booked up hotel. He is sexy, sweet, and talks dirty. She tries to resist him but I mean really who could. This hot guy, Fiji, the ocean, a shared hotel room. She didn't stand a chance (none of us ladies would!).

I don't want to spoil the story. It isn't all simple and easy. They have to leave Fiji eventually and getting back to real life isn't the sunshine and roses of a tropical island.

This was a sweet, romance, alpha story. A quick worth it read!

Lindsay is one of those people who makes a plan and sticks to it, no matter what. If she doesn’t have a plan, she basically can’t function. So, when her wedding plan goes up in flames and is she is left at the altar, she doesn’t know which way is up. Jaxon, a former fighter-pilot who is now piloting commercial aircraft, is an expert at going with the wind takes him and flying “by the seat of his pants”, as the saying goes. He is not necessarily unhappy, but he is realizing that it might be time to add a few roots to his life. Life brings them together in the tropical paradise that is Fiji. (Does anybody remember the great movie Truman – Fiji was the dream destination of that character, too!) Outside of their usual routines, these Lindsay and Jaxson are opposites who bring out the best in one another.

There is a lot of emotion in this book, and some big surprises. I really loved the ending! These 2 characters really deserve an HEA and Weston Parker gives them a wonderful one. The secondary characters add so much depth to the story and it is all very nicely written.

Loved this surprising funny story of a jilted bride, Lindsey who decided to take her honeymoon alone...but the fates were against her with lost luggage, missed shuttle and then to top it off, an overbooking leaving her with no place to stay...until Jaxon steps in as her "husband" to get the hotel to do an upgrade for botching the reservation...and since he was on vacation, arranged shortly before he flew into Fiji, he would love to spend his time with the beautiful woman now in his arms...but as she is planner and he is used to being a daredevil Air Force pilot before an injury sidelined him to commercial aircraft...there is an unmistakable chemistry between the two and the secondary characters like Ember, Big Mac, Kavan and Jaxon's mom who make the read irresistible...too bad a Polynesian Restaurateur like Big Mac can't find himself a gym-rat like Ember while he's in the states...I voluntarily read this book through an Advanced Reader Copy.

This story was cute and sweet and just so frustratingly angsty. I loved every moment of it. The chemistry between Lindsay and Jaxon is electric and obvious from the first moment they’re on the page together. They made for very compelling reading. They’re not quite the perfect definition of opposites, but they are certainly different enough to balance each other out. Lindsay could be the definition of Type-A, but Jaxon is able to give her the opportunity to live in the moment once in a while. As a pilot, Jaxon is often in the clouds, but his head is up there a lot of the time too. Lindsay grounds some of that happy-go-lucky energy and gives him a base to fly from. When things were good between them, they were great. But when they went sideways, it was painful to witness. I adored seeing them work out their differences and find their happy ever after together.

What a read! I loved this story from start to finish. Lindsay is all about the plan and when things go off the rails my heart went out to her. The emotion with so many things thrown at her, I was right there with her. Then in steps Jaxon, flying by the seat of his pants and adding some spark to her life. I loved how they meshed together, pushing each other and building that relationship. There were moments that left me choking on my emotions, fighting tears, wiping away those that refused to go away. This is a great story that I did not want to put down. A must read.

This is my favorite Weston Parker book to date! Loved the chemistry between Jaxon and Lindsay, even if their meeting didn't happen under the best circumstances (for Lindsay at least). Lindsay is the fictional personification of a Type A personality and has no idea what to do with the time off she's suddenly facing after the debacle of her non wedding. There's no shortage of chemistry between Jaxon and Lindsay while away from home, but of course things change once they're back in the real world and discover how much they're actually connected.

I so enjoyed Jaxon and Lindsay's journey to happiness. It's a nicely developed bad boy romance with some emotional parts and entertaining moments. Fate seems to play an important part in bringing these two together. This is a good story that is well written. I really love the characters and the plot is captivating and intriguing.

I found this book discounted on Amazon via Hidden Gems; this is my honest review Lindsay & Jaxon
-I don't read many books written by a male author and reading this one was refreshing.
-Can you just imagine this picture : "dressed up in some of my grandmother’s finest suit jackets and shoes and used my grandfather’s post-it pad as a checkbook.". She will go far in life.
-I liked Lindsay but sometimes she was a bit naïve and later on totally unprofessional. She said she didn't see it coming but they'd never decided which apartment to keep. That should tell you something on both sides. In the office, she mixes her personal problems with her job (by having a fit and not having the meeting), and tell-all to her friend Ember (re: him not having approval to go on vacation).
-Jaxon is a real man with muscles and tattoos all over, knows how to please a woman but mostly because of his inner battles and it was funny: "I sighed internally, convinced that I was being punished for something to have to live with a woman who looked like her without being able to touch her".
-I loved Big Mac and his insights. I loved that the staff were so discreet. I loved that both J&L went all-in with the activities and then got a few days off to relax. Those are the real vacations.
-Apart from the drama on Lindsay's side, the story flows well and it's enjoyable all-through. I thought the scene at the bar between Jaxon and Ethan was hilarious; you just knew where it was going. Kudos on the editing.
-I'm still trying to figure out this scene between Lindsay and Ethan: "I planted my hands on my hips and stuck my finger out so close to his chest I almost jabbed it." They are still standing. A paragraph later, they're having drinks and just sat down.

Why are men so clueless

So we have a no show for a wedding (Lindsey's wedding) we have a Pilot (Jaxon) needing a vacay, we have a best friend (Ember Lindsey's) and a best bud (Kavan Jaxon's) and a really kickass Mom (Jaxon's) and we absolutely cannot forget Fiji Island and Big Mac and a double booked room. LOL sounds like trouble right. When Jaxon hears Lindsey talking and has no room, and he has no room he steps up to the plate and steps in as her fake husband on their honeymoon to save the day. Oh yeah. One week in paradise with Jaxon sharing a bungalow and the sparks start to fly. Lindsey never knew what hit her. Oh wait Cupid hit her. Little Miss planner totally got turned around and was loving it. But she quickly realizes as the week comes to an end she didn't want to say good bye to Jaxon. Saying this on their last night Jaxon realized he didn't want to hurt Lindsey so he packed up, cleaned up and left before she woke. Well is good intentions ended up being a disaster. To top is off turns out they work for the same Airline and he is being hit with a termination for not notifying his Supervisor he was taking vacation. But he actually did and Lindsay's assistant was to new to follow thru. When he has to come face to face with the love of his life OMG everything but the kitchen sink flies. Lindsey has the power to terminate him but will she. Hmmm you'll have to read to find out. When Jaxon is called to her office again to find out his destiny finally the emotions come out on both of their parts. Thank God for that. I totally loved the end and was jumping for joy when Big Mac appears in Houston. God you have to love that man. Great read, with lots of miscommunication, emotions and just down right swoon. Gotta love Jaxon seriously.

Jaxon and Lindsey story

Lindsey's husband to be left her at the altar. Wasn't even man enough to tell her to her face. She had to call him to find out where he was? He said he couldn't marry her. She was devastated but also relieved. She was having second thoughts also.
She decided to go to Fiji by herself, seeing it was already paid for. First, she can't find her luggage, then she gets to the hotel and they double book her room. This is when she met Jaxon. He saw that they were giving Lindsey a hard time, so he played her fake husband to get a room. He played indignant about how the manager double booked and that they better take care of it. So they got upgraded to a suite for the same price as her original price. He was supposed to let her go her way, and he would do the same.
They ended up having a great time together. He took her out of her comfort zone, and he did things she wanted to go see.
Great story of two people who weren't looking for love but found out that they left a little of their behind.
Misunderstanding and hurt feelings almost broke them forever. But the stars were aligned to get them back.
Another great story by Weston Parker. I always love his story and his characters.

My favorite book so far, from Weston Parker

First of all I have to say, I love reading Weston’s books. He takes you somewhere different in each book. In this wonderful story he takes you to Fiji.

After Lindsay is left at the altar, for some reason she’s not totally devastated. Sad, definitely. Deciding to go on her honeymoon by herself, is the right idea, since she needs a break from working constantly. However, plans deviate a bit. When she arrives at the hotel, they are overbooked and have no rooms available. Her luggage didn’t arrive with her either! This is when Jaxon steps in.
He’s having the same issues. Pretending to be a couple on their honeymoon, he manages to get a villa from the manager. Now the fun begins. It seems that opposites attract.

This book was fun, heartwarming, sexy, and a beautiful HEA.

This book was interesting at the beginning and throughout the adventures at Fiji. Once they were back home it was a bit boring and I struggled to get through it.
I was a bit disappointed when Jaxon was summoned to Lindsey's office. I so wanted Jaxon to be petty and give Lindsey a bit of her own medicine. Yes things may have been botched when they departed Fiji but for her to bring it up in a unprofessional matter while trying to discuss his future with the company was so uncalled for.
For it to be stated how great she was at her job and then to use her place of business to chew him out for something unrelated was just not right.
Also the arrival of her brother was out of left field. She hasn't heard from him from years and out of the blue he is just there. It felt like it was added just to get in a word goal. He didn't add anything to the story IMO.

Lindsay was left at the altar by her supposed groom on their wedding day. She was able to talk to him and was told he could not marry her and that everything will be taken care of by her mother. She went ahead and used their tickets and honeymoon reservation to Fiji. She then met Jaxon and had a short-lived affair because he left her at the hotel without saying goodbye. She blamed herself for not being worthy of love because she was left twice by the men in her life. Fate brought them back together when they found out they work at the same airline, he as a pilot and she as HR Director. She was able to fix the problem of Jason being fired for not giving notice of his vacation. Jaxon was advised by his mother and best friend that what he did was very wrong, leaving the hotel. I would say Lindsay had a big heart for forgiving Jaxon and getting back together. Wow! that proved how short-minded Jaxon was!

I purchased a copy of the steamy set novel Maybe It’s You: A Military Man Romance Novel Book Three by Weston Parker in KU, and this review was given freely.
Instant attraction, opposite personalities, assumptions, misunderstandings, and the advice of family and friends are combined in this interesting but rocky romance containing a happy ending, where the couple each finds “ the person they have been waiting for” when they least expected it.
Irony or fate? Ex-Air Force commercial pilot Jaxon takes a long overdue vacation to Fiji, where he unknowingly meets up with his missing Human Resources director Lindsay, who is single on her honeymoon after being left at the altar days prior.
18+ for steamy scenes.

Poor Lindsay got left even before she reaches the altar without an explanation. With encouragement from her BFF, she heads to her honeymoon in Fiji for some me time. After an exhausting trip there she finds out her room is double booked! Enter Jaxon, former Air Former/current pilot, who saves the day and pretends to be her husband and demands a suite for their honeymoon. The two have to share a suite for a week. Lindsay is structured/needs a routine while Jaxon is laid back and spontaneous. Opposites soon attract. After their trip, Jaxon disappears and Lindsay is heartbroken. Soon, fate intervenes and the two see each other. I enjoyed the cute story and the book worthy scenes are H-O-T! I enjoyed Big Mac, the chef at the resort who provides advice and comic relief throughout the book.

Lindsey gets left at the alter and decides to go on the honeymoon alone in Fijii as it's all paid for. Jaxson is a pilot and hasn't taken time off in forever, puts in for 2 weeks and jumps on the first plane out. As fate would have it Jaxson and Lindsey land in the same resort in Fijii in the same lobby at the same time and the story builds from there.
Weston has written a terrific story filled with colorful characters and beautiful scenery.
I didnt want to put this book down, as I never knew what was happening next. Max is a fantastic person and we need to know more about him in another book. Easy read, standalone HEA

Fate Rules the Day

I like Weston’s stories but sometimes his female characters are a bit too annoying, and it’s hard to be too sympathetic. Aside from that, the story begins with a bride left at the alter who gets talked into going on her honeymoon to Figi by herself. When her reservation is messed up, a handsome pilot steps in to pull off a fast move and gets them a room to share. And, then it builds from there. The drama gets a bit intense as the story builds and our heroine acts less than professional, but it all turns out fine.

What a fabulous story.
Couldn't help but fall in love with Jaxon and Lindsay.
What a beautiful storyline and a beautiful setting to fall in love.
Lots of hot, hot chemistry and tender moments that brought tears occasionally but what a book.

So good!

This is a sexy, honest book. The story doesn't gloss over the hard parts of making a relationship work. I like that Jaxon and Lindsay are able to enjoy their time in Fiji. Those scenes are beautiful and steamy. I love the scene where they took a hike and helped a child who got lost. That was sweet. The next scene is totally unexpected.
I love Big Mac. He is an awesome cook and friend.
I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did

I liked this story. Lindsey is so focused on a well planned life without love or passion she doesn’t comprehend how she could be left at the altar by her best friend and fiancé. Jaxson flies so many jaunts he never has time to have a romance or a drink with his mother. Two most unlikely birds to be flitting off to Fiji to lose themselves. Somehow it works. The author creates believable characters that have substance and feelings. The ending is well done and there is a HEA.

ALL the feels!

This book had me all over the place. Excited, sad, happy, angry, hopeful… all of it. What an amazing tale. Characters I will never forget and who I will continue to root for and believe in. I could not stop thinking about these two as I went about my day today - wondering if, when, how …. Thank you, thank you Weston! You broke my heart, tore it out, stomped on it - but you put it back together too. ❤️❤️
