Rate this book
In one moment, Anita's entire future was instantly, irrevocably, and dramatically changed. Little did she realize what a little forbidden fun would cost. Anita shares the personal and candid story of an unwed teenage pregnancy--the emotions, the agonizing decisions, and her desperate dependence on God to get her through. This poignant story shows how God redeems our lives. Whether you've gone through a similar experience or you're trying to help someone who is, Anita's story, insights, and resources will help you. She's been there.

This is such a heartfelt, honest story. I have the privilege of knowing Anita Keagy's family intimately, as the wife of one of her (many) relatives! From the start I knew of this powerful story she had to share, the explosive ministries she founded - Joyshop, the 21 Day Challenge - and her contagious joy for reading God's Word and inviting the Spirit into our daily lives.

I have my grandmother's copy of the book, given to her by Anita on my wedding day. It's a privilege to read the words written by one Christian woman and underlined and noted by another. This is a story of God's glory, which often is seen best in suffering. Juxtaposed with a life of perfection and promise comes the shocking news of a teenage pregnancy, and I was floored to read how not only her family but also her church body gave her relentless support and love. This is a wonderful human analogy of God's love for us.

She ends the story with these thoughts that I felt so poignant I wanted to highlight: "Not only has [God] given us life but He's given us a File full of His own personal love letters, the bible. The reason I put letters in my daughter's file is the same reason He has put letters i our File. He wants us to find Him, to understand how much He loves us ..." A God who loves us, longs to give gifts to us, and will pay whatever price it requires to reunite with us, this is a wonderful reminder (as CS Lewis points out, Christians need not so much teaching as reminding!) that God is not an unforgiving punishing grudge-holder, but a Father in Heaven with a love for us worth dying for.

This is a wonderful analogy of God's search for his children. I know Anita and her true story is very meaningful to me and has been the basis of an important ministry (Joyshop). This will soon be a movie.

Anita Keagy is one of my favorite people in the whole world. I've heard her speak twice and God has blessed me through her. <3
