Former beauty queen Belle Thornton knows what it is to think she has it all, only to discover she never valued what was truly important. Raising her daughter and building a thriving thrift shop that helps single mothers like herself has taught Belle what the word beautiful really means. Unfortunately, thanks to her shady landlord, Belle must toss those hard-earned dollars into the money-pit of a rental that houses both her tiny apartment and her business or risk the city closing her doors. When funds dwindle as quickly as her to-do list grows, she is forced to rely on the absolute last rescuer she’d choose: Micah Shaw.
Leaving Belle at the altar, pregnant, was the worst choice Micah ever made. He returns home, hoping to reconcile with Belle and their toddler. While balancing his medical residency with caring for his ailing mother, he strives to win Belle’s heart again and ensure her business remains open. Helping with that is the easy part. Chiseling through the rock encompassing Belle's heart is more of a challenge, but one he’s determined to conquer.
If only he could get her to realize that a new lease on love may be their best collaboration of all.
Susan L. Tuttle is a best-selling, multi-published author of small town, midwestern romances featuring ordinary people discovering extraordinary love. Her critically acclaimed novel Love You, Truly was an ACFW Carol Award finalist. As a former homeschooling mom, current pastor’s wife and women’s ministry leader at a large church, Susan loves to help women discover how their worth and identity are found in Christ, not the many roles they fill. She often shares that encouragement in her quarterly newsletter and on her Instagram page. When she’s not writing or serving her church and community, you can find her cozied up in one of her many favorite cardigans, sipping coffee, and obsessively eating cookies. She also enjoys hiking with her husband—to burn those cookie calories. Susan lives in Michigan with her family and a very spoiled Borderdoodle named Finley Frank.
Belle Thornton is in a bind, an ex-beauty queen, single mother with passion for her community and the women in it, she is struggling to keep the doors of her small business open and up to code. She is independent and outgoing, a fantastic mother to her three year old daughter. I admired how much she cares about the women in her community, and how she finds a way to integrate the older and younger generations in a positive way.
Micah Shaw has a lot on his plate between juggling his last year of residency and caring for his ailing mother, but when he get's the chance to be a part of Belle and Anna's life again, he jumps at the chance to make it up to them. Even though he left Belle in the past, he was a likable character and it definitely helped to understand a little bit of his side of the story. He spreads himself thin and is very hardworking, making the extra effort to be present for Belle and Anna.
This was a fast paced and engaging romance, with fantastic tension and chemistry throughout. I thoroughly enjoyed the plot, filled with wonderful characters who care for and are supportive of one another. I enjoyed the strong theme of forgiveness and second chances, even though I didn't want to like Micah, I ended up loving him! Heartwarming and sweet, with great interaction. I absolutely loved how the retirement community helped the single mothers with childcare. A highly enjoyable read, that pulled me in from the very beginning!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
Second chance romance is one of my favorite tropes and this author wrote it beautifully! Belle and Micah share a history - one that ended not-so-good - and so when he returns to the scene, ALL the sparks fly.
Belle is guarded and rightly so. Micah wants to prove he's changed. Both have emotional wounds in different areas. Toss in fabulous secondary characters and you have yourself a five-star story.
I'm a big fan of this author's writing. And can't wait to see what's next!
"Now she understood how razor-sharp her words could be, wounding without even a direct hit. But she also knew how one well-placed word of kindness could burrow into a person and unfurl courage, confidence, and beauty they didn't even realize existed inside of them. She could destroy or build others up."
This is my first book by Susan Tuttle and I can't believe I haven't read her books until now. Filled with lovably real and broken characters, witty and clever dialogue, raw and palpable emotions, and snippets of wisdom that beg to be pondered, the book hits all the right spots and will settle in your heart. Now I need to go back to the first book in this series to catch up on the details of Belle's sister Penny's backstory with her darling hubby Jonah.
Though it's the second book in the series, it can be enjoyed as a stand-alone. I'm sure the Belle in this book is very different from the first book, having gone through trials and tribulations that humbled and grounded her. This new Belle is determined, focused, compassionate, tender, and brimming with love and thankfulness. The Micah who returns to town for a second chance with Belle and his daughter is also new and improved. Micah is a sweetheart - a man now committed to real love that follows through with actions and sobriety, tender-hearted, hard-working but still haunted by his past and feelings of inadequacy. His persistent and patient pursuit of Belle is endearing and heart-warming. A glimpse into the life of an obstetrics resident in training through Micah's eyes is fascinating. The theme of true forgiveness and reconciliation is powerful and moving throughout the story. The author handles such tough topics like alcoholism and dementia with care and thoughtfulness. The plot moves at a good pace and a few surprises along the way add extra doses of tension and anticipation to the well-plotted story. If you enjoy a well-written contemporary romance with meat on its bones to chew on for a while, you will absolutely love this book.
I received a copy of the book from LPCBooks via JustRead Publicity Tours and was under no obligation to post a positive review. All comments and opinions are solely my own.
Even though I wanted to read Then Again, Maybe, I started the book with a little skepticism, simply because I highly disliked Belle and completely loathed Micah in the first book in the series. Author Susan L. Tuttle had some major redemptive work to do in the two of them ... and she did!
Three years after Micah left her pregnant at the altar, Belle has a beautiful daughter and a struggling business that brings purpose to her life. Then Micah shows up, repentant and sober, and her world is turned upside down. Belle is hesitant to let Micah back in, yet she knows he deserves access to his daughter ... and she soon sees that he is not the man who left her; he's a changed man who wants a second chance.
Wow, this is an excellent book! I absolutely loved Micah and the way he steadily yet gently pursued Belle. And I really enjoyed watching Micah, Belle, and their daughter Anna become a little family. The plot took some turns I wasn't expecting (and I can't explain here because SPOILERS!) that ended up making the story feel richer. And I really appreciated the look at forgiveness and reconciliation and what those terms really mean.
It took me a bit to get into the novel, but once I was in, I was all in. This is an excellent second installment in Tuttle's Along Came Love series. Here's hoping there's a third book soon! 4-1/2 stars.
Disclosure of material connection: I received a complimentary copy of this book. I was not required to write a positive review, and all opinions are my own.
This story was flawless. Susan Tuttle knows how to craft a love story with heart and depth that will capture readers from the first page. Her characters are genuine and relatable which is why as a reader I find myself so engrossed in their story! Bell and Micah were characters that due to their history I expected to struggle to like. However, from the very first moments that these characters appeared on the pages of this story, I was on their team. The growth that had taken place in each of their lives was believable and totally won me over. Micah is a picture of redemption, patience and unwavering tenacity in his pursuit of Belle and Anna. His character is the perfect balance of humor, boldness and humble self servant hood. Belle is driven, cautious, and practical and her work with single moms really shows her generous spirit and caring nature. This story flowed effortlessly. I was so invested in this story that the pages would not stop turning. I absolutely loved this redemptive love story. It gave me all the feels and as I closed book my eyes were filled with happy tears at the conclusion. That epilogue is everything! Susan Tuttle continues to astound me with each new work of fiction that she writes and I can not recommend her books enough! This one was utter perfection and I loved every minute!
Tuttle brings it with this second installment in the Along Came Love series. A story of forgiveness and second chances will bring tears to your eyes and make you laugh along the way. Beautiful read!
4.5 stars Second Chances, Forgiveness, Redemption. I loved every minute of this story and let me tell you why. Micah and Belle had a past with mistakes and pain in there too. They were both broken and after he reappears trying to mend the damage he's caused and rebuild the relationship with her and gotten to know their daughter, she's wary because she doesn't want to get hurt again. I love how Micah patiently works at proving himself to her despite his doubts and fears that he's not good enough, his struggle with feeling he might mess things up but that determination to be a better man definitely gave him points in my book. Belle on the other hand struggled to trust again, not wanting to go through heartbreak or let her daughter be heartbroken either, she had to work through forgiveness and giving him a second chance. I love how the author dealt with the topics of alcoholism and dementia. I enjoyed the pacing and the heartwarming aspects of the story. Definitely a winner for me. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author via JustReads Book Tours. All opinions expressed are solely mine.
Wow! What an amazing story! This book continually ripped my emotions apart and rebuilt them…over and over again. It is the second book in a series, however, I had not read book one and had no trouble following and loving the storyline.
The emotions that Belle and Micah experienced felt so real. Belle was so overwhelmed with the current financial situation she found herself in. She was also terrified of allowing Micah in and having her heart broken again if he didn’t stick around.
I loved the way that Micah worked to show Belle that he loved her and Anna. His actions spoke volumes and led to some amazingly moving moments in this story. After all Micah did for Belle and Anna, would there ever be a time that Belle would stop expecting him to fail them? It was heart wrenching to watch Micah wonder how much was enough to prove himself to Belle. I loved this book! It was a truly beautiful story.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
Wow! Very rarely do I have no words, (just ask my husband lol) but that is how I felt when I finished Then Again, Maybe by Susan Tuttle. This story is pretty much perfection! Go. Buy. It. In fact, not only should you buy this book, but just buy everything Susan Tuttle has written. I feel like leaving my review there because I’m sure I won’t do this story justice with my review, but here it is...
I loved this story - literally everything about it. Seriously, my only complaint is that it ended. I have been wanting Micah and Belle’s story since I finished At First Glance where they were secondary characters. I was sure there was no way Micah could be redeemed. Thankfully, I was completely wrong, not only did Ms. Tuttle beautifully redeem him, she made me feel for him, root for him, and love him. My heart literally ached for him at one point in the story. Let me just say, Susan Tuttle knows how to write a redemption story!
I also loved Belle and how she had grown and changed since we were first introduced to her. I thought she was perfect in her reactions to Micah and his unexpected return to her and their daughter, Anna. Speaking of Anna, what a perfect little addition to this story. I absolutely loved her.
I cannot wait for the next story that we get from Susan Tuttle. I’m pretty sure I know who the main characters are and I cannot wait!! Excellent story! I’m sure this will be in my top reads of 2020!
When the first book in the Along Came Love series was on my top ten favorite reads for 2018 I had incredibly high hopes for the second book in the series. When I finally got my hands on Then Again, Maybe I devoured it, and thought it was a great read, but I will say it didn't capture my heart as much as Penny's story in the first book did.
In the first book, we meet Belle and Micah, the hero/heroine of this book, but the story focuses on Penny (Belle's sister) and Jonah (Micah's cousin), two characters that still have my heart (you can find my review for At First Glance HERE). Belle was ok, but Micah was a character that was very hard for me to love, and I honestly didn't think anything would make me change my mind about him.
Fast forward three years and we find Belle and Micah, two broken, separate individuals that are living in the uncomfortable circumstances of their respective choices. Seeing where they both ended up, and where this story takes them, had my heart doing a 180. Belle is no longer Ms. Perfection but has instead realized for herself how superficial her life had once been, and is now living in a shell of her former self, but in the best way possible. She is a single mom and entrepreneur, dedicating her life to her passion to help others, and to raise her three year old daughter, Anna, the best way she can. Micah is now a physician, working at the local hospital as an obstetrician, and whole-heartedly wants to make amends to Belle for all the hurt he's caused her. He will do everything in his power to get his message across, whether Belle is ready to hear it or not.
This novel is so full of love, and the true meaning of family, friendship, and forgiveness that I thought my heart would burst. Belle's daughter Anna is beyond adorable and I loved the "Grand's" and seeing Penny and Jonas relationship and where the next chapter takes them as well. The humor and overall warmth was perfection to me, and a great escape. You really feel like these characters are real people with how superbly they are fleshed out.
If I had one complaint, that really is just a small annoyance for me personally, it would be the lack of trust and pointing fingers that Belle exhibits multiple times throughout the story towards Micah. While I can completely understand her reasoning, every time she had one of these moments I would hear the song "Let It Go" playing in my mind, and I couldn't wait to see her own eyes be opened, and that brick wall around her heart crumble.
Then Again, Maybe gave me all the feels and was a great reminder of why I love this author and series so much! The writing flows so seamlessly that I felt like I finished reading it way too quick. Micah redeemed himself in my book, his transformation a beauty to behold, his change genuine and full of grace and that is all thanks to incredible writing. Susan Tuttle is hands down one of my favorite authors right now, and once you read Then Again, Maybe you'll see why.
*I have voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book which I received from the author/publisher through JustRead Tours. All views and opinions are completely honest, and my own.
Deserted at the altar by Micah Shaw, and left to give birth to and raise their daughter, Anna, alone, former beauty queen Belle Thornton uses her education and determination to help other single moms like herself. She finds it hard to ask for help, but she is adopted by a wonderful community of senior citizens, who help however they can. Micah, now a doctor, reenters her life, determined to get to know his daughter and hopefully to heal the broken relationship with Belle, Belle refuses to forgive and trust him and allow Anna to know he's her father. Several years ago I read At First Glance, the first book in this series, about Belle's sister, Penny, and Jonah Shaw, Micah's cousin. If you like inspirational romantic fiction, you'll enjoy reading Then Again Maybe.
MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK Belle Thornton has thrived at her thrift shop while raising her daughter, but that may just come to an end if she is not careful. So she gets help from the one person she for sure does not want to see. The man who left her at the alter, pregnant, to take the embarrassment plus having to be a single parent. Micah is hoping to break through to Belle's heart, but it's gonna take some time. In the meantime, he will make sure her business stays afloat.
This is my first book by Susan L. Tuttle and one I thoroughly enjoyed. Belle and Micah difficult characters because of their past. Though this book read well as a stand alone, I really want to go back and read the first book I need this series to get what I missed about Belle and Micah. Though I really enjoyed watching these two as the developed so well throughout the story. Tuttle does an amazing job of handling these two broken characters and weaving their lives together, with all of their flaws. This is truly a story of love, redemption, forgiveness, and second chances. And little Anna, she is so adorable and adds so much love to this story. And I appreciate the faith element running throughout the story as well. All in all, this is a well written story and one that will stay with me for a while. If you love a good romance, this one is for you. This one is a 5 stars for me.
A special thanks to the author/publisher for a copy of this book. I am not required to write a positive review, the opinions here are mine alone. I am disclosing this with my review in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 255.
This was my first book by Susan L. Tuttle. And it won't be my last! This book had my chuckling, smiling, and yes, crying. It took me a few chapters to get into the story, but once I was in I was hooked and couldn't put it down. I loved Susan's way of writing. Her characters, and descriptions really brought you in and made you feel a part of the story. There was a theme of forgiveness through the book. Of not 'forgetting' because we all know you can forgive but you always remember. But of letting it go. Not holding to the past but moving forward. I loved it. I loved Micah, and his determination to be the better man. To be a new creation in Christ and let go of the old man he once was. There were times I was telling Belle, 'just forgive him already!' But I know she had to work it out for herself. And of course, you can't help but love little Anna, she was adorable. I recommend this book for older teens or adults. There is talk of drinking and having a baby before marriage. The spiritual content was very light, could have almost passed as a secular book. *I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy from the author. All opinions are my own*
A touching story with Belle bringing up her daughter, Anna, alone after being left at the altar. Belle is working hard to build a business against difficult odds. Micah returns a changed man looking to make up for his mistake of leaving Belle. I enjoyed the story and the characters very much. A well written and easy to read story that was a pleasure to read.
Don’t you love a book that you can’t read fast enough, but at the same time, you don’t want to end? Then Again, Maybe is that book— a novel filled with wonderful, complex characters struggling to learn what forgiveness and reconciliation truly mean. I can’t wait to read more by Susan L Tuttle.
Then Again, Maybe, by Susan L. Tuttle, is book two in the Along Came Love series. Even though this is part of a series and the main characters are from the first story, it is a great stand alone story. This is a good clean contemporary romance story that focuses on redemption and second chances.
Belle and Micah were getting married, but he did not show up at for the wedding. She was left alone to raise their little girl while he went away to college. She has started a business that helps those in similar situation as herself.
Micah is now back and wants to be a part of their lives. But he is also doing his residency that takes long hours, takes time to visit his mom in a care facility and is preparing his parents home for sale.
This is a wonderful yet emotional story that focuses on topics such as unplanned pregnancies and single parenthood. I struggled with Micah not helping Belle with their child’s expenses while Belle struggled, yet now he is back and being so helpful, providing things Belle cannot. The thing that stands out for me in this story is how Belle and Micah’s youth and treatment from their parents affect how they are as grown ups.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from JustReads blogging program, all views expressed are only my honest opinion.
Let me start by saying how pleased I was to see Susan L. Tuttle wrote this book. When I first met Belle in At First Glance, she wasn’t too likable. She started to change towards the end of that book and now with her own story playing out, readers get to see how much growth she has made since that first book.
Yet, Belle still has some issues and hurts to work through. Especially where it concerns one Micah Shaw who has made a reappearance.
I loved that Micah and Belle have history, that they know each other well enough to read behind the lines. Micah has grown and changed as well, and he longs to right the wrongs he committed. With plenty of sizzle, touches of humor, and lessons in redemption and grace, Then Again, Maybe is one second-chance romance read I highly recommend.
Disclosure statement: I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book and was not required to write a positive review. All opinions are my own.
Fantastic characters! This was such a great read, I was pulled in from the first page. A story on forgiveness that leaves the reader rooting for a second chance for Micah. This story will grab the readers heart and hold it captive until the very end. The Grands were a wonderful addition to the story with love , care and support they offered Belle and Anna. A story that touches on many trials bring healing and redemption. The author throws a deep secret in that brings this story to complete head and leaves the reader reeling from it. So much to love about this book that I was at a loss when it ended! Was given a complimentary copy. All opinions are my own.
Wow, just WOW! Susan L. Tuttle is a new to me author, but after reading Then Again, Maybe, I want to read more of her books immediately.
Then Again, Maybe is the story of Belle Thornton and her struggles of being a single mom. She was pregnant and planning on marrying, but she was left at the altar. 3yrs later she is raising her daughter and trying to run a Thrift Shop. The money that she does earn, seems to be going into the lackluster apartment and store front that she rents. She is trying hard to be profitable and keep things going. She finally realizes she may have to call on Micah Shaw, the guy who left her at the altar, to help her repair things and get her store running well. Micah returns to town. He is caring for his mother who is sick and trying to finish his medical residency. He is also trying to reconcile with Belle and be with her and their daughter. Will Belle get Micah to help her with the repairs to the buildings she rents? Will Micah win back Belle and will they reconcile?
Then Again, Maybe is a story of second chances and forgiveness. The author does a wonderful job at keeping the reader interested in the story with all the excitement of things happening. I know I couldn't put the book down until I finished reading it. Then Again, Maybe is Book 2 in the Along Came Love Series, but it reads great a Stand Alone book. I HIGHLY recommend this book and this author! GREAT BOOK!
What a beautiful love story--between the two main characters, yes, but even more, between the characters and themselves. I've been in that place where forgiveness is hard--the hardest thing I've done--but even harder is learning to forgive yourself and let go. Susan Tuttle has woven a beautifully tender story, full of smiles and yes, a few tears as I so closely related to Belle. Thank you for listening to God's call on your heart to write this story, Susan. It's made an impact. ❤️
Just when you think an author can’t outdo herself she goes and gives you this masterpiece! I am honestly a bit speechless trying to come up with the words to describe just how much I adored every single second of this book! I literally lost track of time lost in its pages and as I reached the end I was floating on a cloud of giddy joy! I don’t say this lightly but I’m pretty sure this book was perfection. If you read book one of this series you know that Micah and Belle were not the most lovable people when we first met them. Years of their parents treating them as less than or placing unrealistic expectations on them had really done a number and it came out in words and actions that made me wonder how they could ever be redeemed enough for me to like them. I needn’t have worried though because they were in the hands of a master and wow did she redeem them! Three years have passed since the events at the end of At First Glance and I loved that there was that gap, because the years had allowed both Micah and Belle to grow and mature and gave authenticity to the fact that they really were different people. The new and improved Micah seriously gave Jonah a run for his money (and if you don’t understand what I mean by that, see my review of At First Glance and take note of the Jonah crushing). He was everything you could want him to be, from the way he humbly admitted his faults and took full responsibility for his actions, to the way he bent over backward, literally running himself ragged, to be there for Belle and Anna and prove he’d changed, to the way he stood up for himself when the situation demanded it and called things like they were. He reentered Belle and Anna’s lives and refused to back away while also letting Belle have complete control over the pace of everything. He showed her with his every word and action that he was here to stay for Anna and for her if she’d just let him in. I really loathed Belle a lot in the first book so she had the most work to do in my mind but I loved how between having Anna, getting her relationship with Penny back on the right track, and stepping out from under her mother’s controlling thumb she had softened into a genuinely sweet human being. The way she was determined to not repeat her mother’s mistakes with her own daughter and the way she let Anna be herself was beautiful to watch and I loved how she had turned her whole life into helping others! I also loved how she, like Micah, didn’t hide from or sugarcoat past mistakes but instead owned up to them and determined to be better going forward. One of the most beautiful things about Tuttle’s writing is the authenticity. The characters feel so real, like people you could meet on the street, and the emotions are so well-written that I honestly find myself feeling them all with the characters, from the laughter and joy , to the pain and heartache I feel like I lived it all right alongside them. Watching Belle and Micah fight their way not back but forward to a better future was truly beautiful and I was rooting for them every step. Their story was messy and hard but that just made the ending and reconciliation all the sweeter because true love isn’t easy. I also can’t write this review without mentioning all the secondary characters! I loved catching up with Jonah and Penny, as well as seeing more of Rachel and her son Gavin and meeting Evan (who I think is gonna be someone special)! Plus all of the “Grands” that help out at Belle’s store who were so sweet and funny and gave a good kick in the pants when necessary! So if all this gushing didn’t make it clear, let me state it again, I FREAKING LOVED THIS BOOK and you need to read it ASAP, no if, ands, or buts about it!
What a beautiful and real story of second chances! Three years ago Micah left a pregnant Belle at the altar, he's a changed man and he's back to win back Belle and their daughter Anna. Belle is a changed woman too, no longer is she the perfectionist beauty queen. She is a good Mom and motherhood has taught her to many things. She is renting a building where she runs a thrift shop, a daycare, and teaches classes to young pregnant women, while also living on the top floor with her daughter. It is strategically next door to a senior living place. In a stroke of brilliance, Belle involves the seniors with the young women and the daycare. Micah has his job cut out for him earning her trust back. Both Micah and Belle came from dysfunctional families. Micah's mom lives in a nursing home and is losing the battle with dementia. Micah is living in her house and cleaning it out and finds her journal with many words of wisdom, including being a person of action, not just words. That shapes how he goes about trying to win Belle back. I really enjoyed this engaging story and read it in just over a day! One of the themes is forgiveness. But forgiveness and forgetting are two completely different things!
Anytime Micah thought Belle was giving a polite answer instead of a real answer, he'd call her on it and say "Pageant voice" Cracked me up!
Some quotes that I loved: "Loving someone was like having a pacemaker in your heart that they controlled. And loving your child? His heart would never be fully his again." Micah
"I'm so glad My eyes finally opened to the obvious because that man was my best surprise. Nothing I expected, but everything I need." Belle's sister Penny
"Love doesn't hold your worst against you..." Mom's journal
Thank you to the author and publisher for a chance to read an early copy of Them Again, Maybe! I loved Micah and Belle's story, and all opinions are my own!
This contemporary fiction was definitely thought provoking for me. Although this book can easily be read and enjoyed by itself, I knew these characters from Tuttle’s previous book. Seeing them again, three years later certainly was surprising as both characters had made major changes in their lives. Interestingly enough, these characters also haven’t seen each other for three years. The characters had to decide whether to trust one another again and believe that the changes each had made will stick. As a reader, I kind of felt the same way. Was I ready to embrace that real change had taken place? Questions of trust, forgiveness and moving forward ensue, while a love story develops. Of course, an adorable toddler plays a huge role in this engaging story. Her character was so fun along with a supporting cast of neighbors that added a sense of community and some laughs along the way. For me, it was an absolute pleasure to see returning characters with updates in their lives! All I can say is that I will be watching for book 3. I was given a copy of this book by the publisher. All opinions are my own.
Micah left Belle at the alter, carrying their child. Fast forward three years later, Micah has come back home. He has cleaned up his act and wants to become part of Anna's life, be there for his mother with her Alzheimer's and earn Belle's trust and love back, if possible. Belle's world has just gone from bad to worse. She's behind on her rent, responsible for all repairs (and there are many) on the warehouse she lives and has her businesses in, and now the one person she never wanted to see again is back in her life and she's afraid he'll want to take their daughter. I found their struggles and foibles to ring true. You can't help but root for them. Anna is adorable and the seniors next door a hoot. A lovely, hopeful and uplifting story.
I'm a huge fan of Susan L. Tuttle's and couldn't wait to get my hands on Then Again, Maybe. Especially when I found out that this was a redemption book (I didn't read the blurb, just wanted to read another Tuttle book).
Redemption books are my favorite because I love to see a character have a heart change and Micah Shaw had so many lies he'd believed in. I liked how they came out, how we saw how we dealt with them.
And Belle, well she had to work through the hurt Micah's betrayal caused. It was a very realistic picture but not without it's sweet moments, laugh out loud ones, and parts that make you realize why you read Susan Tuttle.
Another winner in my book.
*I received a complimentary copy from the publisher. My review was not required not influenced.
Made the mistake of reading this at work. A customer asked if I was okay because I looked like I had been crying--because I had been throughout most of the book!
One of my struggles with bad boys is the redemption story that often follows. Some of my favorite authors write bad boys so well that I cannot stand them, making it very hard to believe they can ever be redeemed.
If you love writing about bad boys redeemed , you have to read Then Again, Maybe. Because this is how it's done. Hands down one of the best I've read this year.
I just hope another book is coming. I'm going to miss these characters. I yuv them. A yot (read the book and you'll get it!)
The first book was left hanging with Micah leaving Belle at the altar. This book is their story. I had to read it right away. A story of redemption, forgiveness and second chances. They both have personal issues to overcome. They also want to find purpose in life. Anna is so cute. It’s also good to revisit characters from the first book. Trusting someone again is not easy. The same with forgiving someone. I don't know but the reflections and realizations in this book just moved me. I liked the turn of events too. It’s just so sweet and feels real.
