After the devastating attack at the hospital, the guardians make their way back to the compound, only to find the mysterious necromancer Lily called the Dark One has no plans of letting them rest. They have no choice but to move on, fate pulling them toward New York.
Meanwhile, in the city, Lily also searches for Zoe and the fifth, desperate to prove her loyalty and regain the Dark One’s trust.
I have loved the Eternal Sorrows series from page one, word one of book one. I am so excited that we will get a fourth book in the series because I wasn't ready to be done with these characters.
Fate's Surrender was awesome. Sarra Cannon is the queen of twist and turns. So much is packed into this book and I was left craving more. Parrish, Noah, Crash and Karmen feel like family. I root for them, I stress for them and I want to see them get to the Island, but when the Witch and the Dark One throw trap after trap their way I want to scream.
I really liked getting to know the fifth in this installment of the series. Before he was an idea, a shadow in the memories of the group, but in this book he was present and what an awesome character.
Sarra did not disappoint at the end with one of her infamous cliffhangers.
I am so eager for book 4, but book 3 will keep me thinking and hold me over until the epic ending.
I loved how this story continued. It was ride worth waiting for. It was hard to put down since I reread the previous books before it. Great job and thumbs up. Anxiously awaiting what comes next.
Fate's Surrender, the third instalment in the Eternal Sorrows Series, is full of love, friendship and some action-packed battle scenes!
I'm not one to be happy when a series ends, but for some reason, with Fate's surrender, I was pumped. I think it's because I knew that it would provide answers, and as a reader, we always want answers. But there's no level of disappointment here because if this instalment was as awesome as it was, then book 4 is going to be EPIC!
Sarra has created a world with characters that you can't help but fall in love with, a magic system that's so cool I wish I had a book just to explain its intricacies, and more than one antagonist that you love to hate. This world is beyond!
Thank you Sarra, for all of your incredibly hard work. I can't wait for book 4!
I love this series! Such great characters, and such an awesome magic system. I am so glad there will be another book because there is no way I would have been satisfied with everything I still need to know being stuffed into this book haha. I can’t wait for book 4 😊
With on the characters recovering from the previous books events and truly understanding their abilities for the first time, you really feel the struggle they face to get to Zoe and The Fifth. The Fifth was previously a bit of a mysterious character even in the second book but with his POV being more frequent, you get a much better understanding of him.
The Witch/Lily is probably the only thing I didn’t like much about this book, the source of her ambitions and her changes of heart seemed a bit weak and confused. As a reader, it was very hard to know how much of her decisions were her own, and how much she was being controlled. Maybe that was the point, but for me it sort of felt like a poor attempt to justify her actions and resolve her of any blame.
However, the other characters really shine in this book, with the characters fully focused on their goal, you really want the characters to succeed and it’s both frustrating and captivating reading about them coming to face challenge after challenge. Even when they seem to succeed, they never truly do which makes me all the more excited to read book 4 when it comes out.
With all the plot twists by the end of the book, I can’t wait to see how it will all be resolved.
I love other Sarra Cannon books (Shadow Demons series, The Witch’s Key) so I expected I would automatically love this from the start too.
When I started on the first book (I purposely hadn’t read the synopsis or any details to avoid spoilers) I wasn’t sure I would make it to the end. For no other reason than I hate zombie stories. Books, films, anything. Not a fan at all and never have been. I was almost ready to stop and walk away.
However, as Sarra so often manages with these stories, I had already formed a bond with Parrish and I needed to know how it would develop. I was invested. Even though I was far out of my comfort zone.
It felt a little close to home at the minute and I ended up dreaming about a zombie-filled coronavirus world for a few nights but it was worth it. I was hooked. Uncomfortably but firmly hooked. The magic of the group and their powers and their struggles drew me in and captured me.
I made it to the end of the third book and now I cannot wait for what happens next. Sarra, you achieved the impossible here and I now have another book to be longing for in addition to Vengeful Darkness and the follow-up to The Witch’s Key 💖
So the Eternal Sorrows series is one of my favorites of Sarra's. Zombies are probably my favorite SciFi creature of all. So when Sarra came out with the Eternal Sorrows series, I was stoked! And she did not disappoint.
The third installment in this series was great. The battle scenes are amazing! And the storyline and intrigue behind the characters are great. I love seeing Parrish and Noah growing closer, and seeing the softer side of Karmen. Just continuing to learn more about all of the characters is great.
There are still so many things to uncover about the character's past lives, and I can not wait for the next book to learn more about them all. And the ending of the book? Wow! Left me speechless.
If you love zombies and you love magic, then this third novel in the cross-over series between the two genres will have you spell-bound. All the zombie terror combined with superpowers, witches and Sarra's trademark twists and turns make for great YA reading. Finished it in 3 days, it was so riveting, and YES, you can expect a cliffhanger ending that was carefully bread-crumbed through the novel. I really loved that it was more than just YA action - the story reveals some deep character growth and life wisdom applicable to all of us through the course of the story, too. Definitely looking forward to the next instalment.
I received this arc in exchange for an honest review.
I feel like I’ve waited forever for this book and I wanted to take my time reading so it lasted longer but... it was too good to put down.
The story continues for the group as they make their way to New York to join with the 5th member. New challenges await them along the way but they also uncover more of their powers which help them defeat the super rotters!
A couple of cliffhangers at the end... what’s going to happen to Zoe??!!!!
And who is who’s daughter!!!???!! What!!!
I can’t wait for the next book Thank you Sarra, you didn’t disappoint (not that you ever could)
Do you like zombies? What about witches? Do you like to read? Well if your answer was yes as it should be try out Sarra Cannon Her work is so much fun. This third book of The Eternal Sorrows series, like the previous two, was an amazing look into the imagination and creativity of Sarra Cannon. I’m blown away by the complexity yet simplicity of these characters and their growing devotion to each other and their fate to save mankind. As expected from the author, she leaves me wanting more. No spoilers here, just a strong recommendation to read this series!
I’ve been a Sarra fan for a long time, and I’ve read nearly all of her books. I am NOT a zombie fan though, so I wasn’t sure how this series would work for me but I LOVE it. There’s just the right amount change from a typical zombie story to keep me locked in. The magic connection of the main characters is a great twist. I can’t wait for the next one, but I feel that way about all of Sarra’s series!
Incredible! This book was well worth the wait for it to come out. Sarra delivers a wonderful book with plot twists that she is famous for and turns along the way. It took me less than 24 hours to read this book. I had to try to slow it down because I was reading it too fast. Great job Sarra! You rein as Plot Twist Queen!
OMG Sarra has done it yet AGAIN!!! I was definitely NOT expecting that twist at the end at all!!! This series is so good and keeps you on the edge of your seat the whole way through! Literally through the entire book, I kept thinking to myself "this would make a KILLER video game!!" I cannot wait for Book 4 now!!!
I would just like to say that i have read alot of books and this is by far on the top of my list. Awesome books and the characters feel so real, yes i know sometimes there is one that over the top but this book rocks. The first one gets you the second keeps you and this one? I have yet to read but i know i will love. Please get this book. You will love it.
Love, Love, Love this book and series! Sarra is such an amazing writer with twists and turns and cliffhangers everywhere! If you haven’t read this series or her Beautiful Demon series, I highly suggest you read them! Thank you again, Sarra, for a great read!
Great read. The first 2 books on this series were great, but the twists and turns in this one made it my favorite. If you say to yourself "I dont want to read a book about zombies" it has zombies in it but it is so much more than that take a chance. Cant wait for the next!
Worth the wait. Entertaining the whole way through. The story kept me hooked throughout. Expect the unexpected. A superb book, by an outstanding author. Cannot wait to see what she brings next.
I could not put this books down. I just finish the last one and cannot wait for number 4.... this has a twist and had me at the edge of my seat. Sarra Well done.
THAT ENDING! Ah! I'm glad there will be another book. This one was action-packed and I couldn't put it down. Karmen is definitely my favorite character. I'm excited to see what happens next.
I freakin knew it! Parish is Dark one's daughter guyssss...!!! Author, as expected, cleared Lily in the end. Guardians have united but guess what? Dark one's free as well. Kinda free I suppose. Her real body is still trapped underneath ig. Well tbh the book was a little predictable. I do loved the twists. The fights were awesome. Especially the first one. New York's one kinda mess because a lot of things were happening simultaneously. Anyways, good job Sarra.
Waiting for the next installment but ig it's gonna take 2 more years :) ... Nevertheless, this book was great!

Well, it's another Sarra Cannon cliff hanger. I am floored at the twists and turns this book took. I didn't expect half of them. I laughed, I cried, I gasped, I cheered, and I wanted to fight along side with them. Sarra has such a wonderful way of weaving these worlds so they become so real. I am so excited there is going to be a fourth book.If you haven't read any of Sarra's books, I highly recommend them.
