People being something other than what they appeared to be was a common theme at this table, Louvette thought sarcastically. With a table half full of wolves, the sheep still had no idea what ate alongside them. Nevertheless, one of the guests was a wolf in sheep's clothing, or at least he was attempting to be.
Unable to stop herself, her stare cut over for the millionth time to the long-limbed jet-black haired man who was sitting at the end of the table next to her mother. The wolf pretending to be a sheep, in other words."
Discovering her Gift, struggling to tame her wolf, and finding out who ordered her grandfather’s murder are some of the things Louvette must face as the rest of her story unfolds. This time, she’s not facing them alone. Will Louvette and Arsen’s relationship last when secrets come between them?
Louvette has had a rough start to her semester at Whitefish Academy. After finding her missing father’s journal, Louvette Blackwood searches for the truth of what happened to the Blackwood men. From dealing with a perpetual mean girl, newfound secrets, and new foes, the rest of her semester is going to be a rocky one!
. This one takes off where the last book ended and it steps it up a notch. There's a lot going on, but ultimately there are as many new questions as there are questions answered. Some hard knocks for Louvette as well when she learns what happened to her father. It threw me for a loop too! I keep thinking the story will unravel one way but it almost always goes another. It ends on a soft cliffhanger like the first book. Safety is still good I wish I had waited to read this one as now I am chomping at the bit to read the next book... but it's not written yet!
Winter's pack brought forward new elements to the Cursed Series, adding many layers to the story making it a great sequel. It is a very enjoyable read, I absolutely love YA werewolves/shifter stories laced with romance and lots of action!
If you haven't read book 1 yet * spoilers below*
Louvette now know's shes a Lupine, not only that but the only female Lupine there is. Her pack is facing constant turmoil trying to hide her identity from the outside. Louvette is also going through some personal issues in her relationship with Arsen (trust issues and secrets) as well as trying to discover what happened to her father. She is determined to train and learn the ways of the wolf, which is hard when you are the only female in the pack. We also get some further insight into her gift, which were some of my favorite scenes!
The sequel is full of plot twists, betrayal, secrets and suspense! We even get some other paranormal creatures to appear, which made everything even more exciting. Thank you to the author for gifting me a copy for review!
Amazing! Definitely can’t wait for the 3rd cursed book to come out! I read both the first and second book in two days! It definitely catches your attention and holds it!
This book hurt. I really loved the first one, Winter's Wolf. I recommended it to people. I thought it was great for the genre. Like, one of the best werewolf books I've read. But this second installment is so disappointing. There are inconsistencies. The main character all of a sudden says "y'all" all the time. When did this happen? Frustratingly she has become so "independent" she is reckless and self-sabotaging. She keeps a lot of truths from a lot of characters and digs herself into holes, making problems out of things that may never need to be problems at all. This is excruciating to read and if it were the first book in the series I wouldn't even look at this author again. However, again, I really liked the first book; so what happened? How did this one get so boring and melodramatic? I think the issue may be that both books were published this year. The author got sloppy and rushed and the editor didn't do their job well. There is supposed to be a third book. Thank God it also wasn't published in the same year. Maybe there is hope for it.
🍷This is the second book in the Cursed Series and definitely one of those books I was eagerly waiting to read. I'm truly amazed by the turns the story takes, considering the fact that this one is blend of many spicy genres like YA, fantasy and has a touch of paranormal elements, I thought it's gonna be hard and complex, rather it's very intriguing and easy to read even if you are a new reader you can grab it without a second thought. It's better if you get your hands on this after reading the first book but you can read it as a standalone too, considering it's a wholesome story but if you haven't read the first one then surely you are missing something amazing. . . The storytelling is extraordinary and I loved how the author compiled everything towards the end and I just can't wait for the next book in the series. Also, the characters are noteworthy, not too subtle and not too intense! I will definitely recommend it. Go for it. . Rating: 4.25⭐️
Patchwork should have been the title of this book. Thoughts were fragmented and disconnected. It lacked a smooth transition from one thought it scene to another. It takes forever to weave the fragments together to form a "pack." The author never explained how the guys magically appeared in a fight in Mexico. The author does not know the difference between pour and pore. I noticed it in the first book and again in this book. You pour over the notes. The pores are on the skin. Yes, it is not picky but annoying.to the reader. Autocorrect will not find it because it is spelled correctly. Everyone brings a gift to the pack fortunately no two share the same gift. Hopefully they will all go off to college.
The 4 stars is because it’s not a finished series and at this point in time there is no clue when the third book will be out, it doesn’t end on a cliff hanger but it leaves so many things unanswered... with that being said it’s a good read with a good storyline with likable characters that are strong and interesting. There is a lot of filler description fluff but that was a little annoying for me but to others it’s scene building I suppose but to each their own it’s just not to my liking... but in all I like the books so far and will look for the 3rd one to come out eventually... so yes a definite recommend
Louvette is a good person who is trying to find her way, trying to be a good daughter, & a good friend while navigating the ends & outs of a budding relationship. She has learned about her history, her grandfather, & her father & more about who & what she is. It is a good storyline that keeps the story moving until the end of the book. I will be looking for the next book to come out.
Once again I couldn't put this book down, the same as the first one in the series. Its a love story wrapped with some serious action, all is fair in love and war. The character development by this author is amazing! I adore the love and loyalty so well defined in these books. I can't wait for the 3rd book to come out.
I swear Lou Grimes knows EXACTLY when I’m in the mood for a shifter/werewolf story. Winter’s Pack is engaging, fast-paced, and full of lovable characters. I really enjoyed the expansion of the world in this one and the additional element of mystery. If your in the mood for a supernatural series, definitely check this out!
I liked this, but I feel like the main character got sidetracked a lot. There are a ton of things going on and the ones that were focused on weren't all what I thought would be the most important things from the first book. I do like the results of some of the things she found out and am curious to see what happens in the next book as a result.
This is the second book in the series by a new author. I am looking forward to Book 3 as there is still so much I want to learn about Cara and Louvette's plans for the future. And there is still the mystery of Louvette's father.
Great series...twists and turns that you don't see coming
Big werewolf fan, but sometimes it is just too similar. This book really holds my attention and kept an guessing. Yes the girl can be an idiot, but she is a teen. Love the twists. Excited for book 3.
Very good book I love a good shifter series didn't have any spicy scenes which is fine but if you are a person who needs that then I wouldn't recommend this book but is a good read for 13-17 year olds
I really enjoyed this book and loved the characters and how they came together. I am glad that she finally told Cara about who she is and to bad her father turned out to not want anything to do with her and her mom.
The was a great story,Louvette was always going out on her own and putting herself in danger.Arsenal was always there to pick her up if she fell. This is really a great series of books.
Not sure if this book is really headed any where. She goes all the way to Mexico and doesn't even confront the person she went there to see. I'm just not sure where the book is heading not much of anything is happening.
Louvette wanted the truth. Well girlie the truth hurts. Finding what happened to her grandfather and father was painful. Telling Cara the truth was freeing. Fun read. A few things not explained, but otherwise well done.
