After receiving a plea for help from Badd, the Liberators’ vice-commander, Miledi and the others race toward the Haltina Republic, which is currently embroiled in a fierce war with the church. Upon arriving, Miledi confronts the leader of the Holy Templar Knights, Laus Barn, once more. As their ideals clash, the spectre of one of God’s Apostles looms over the forest. The battle between the Liberators and their true enemy draws near, but who will emerge victorious?
In many ways the Zero series is more engaging and dramatic than the main series. Why? Because we know that most of them are doomed, but not how or why. Or when. So getting attached to them at all is very bittersweet.
Anyway this is good fun, carrying on the well-established tradition of recruiting new team members while developing the main plot lines. I’m on board now and I’ll enjoy the ride to the end of the line.
Best so far in the Zero series. I mean, yes, the characters are intentionally supposed to be similar to those in Arifureta but volumes 1-3 were a little slow for me. That said the battle scene in volume four was worth the entire read of Zero volumes 1-3. Just awesome.
Far and away the most boring Arifureta novel I've read. I just could not get into it. I really did not give that much of a hoot about anything that was going on in this volume. The church is trying to invade Haltina and they can't actually hold them off by themselves. So of course Miledi and friends have to step in to help. Sounds reasonable, right?
Well, I hope when you give it a chance you have a better time reading it than I did. I could ALWAYS find a excuse to put this one down. I read two other light novels during it because I had to take breaks.
Zero isn't as fun for me as the main series (largely because of Miledi who is so annoying), but I usually don't react that badly to her. So your mileage may vary. For me, I may read more cause the mainline only has one book left [apparently there were two, but it took so long for vol 12 to get here I didn't realize it], but Zero just doesn't hold a candle to the original. *le sigh*
