Sophie Kisker started composing dark stories of love and capture long ago, but it wasn't until she met others on the internet that she realized she wasn't alone. Her stories are sometimes dark and uncomfortable, but they will always have a happy ending.
During the day, Sophie is busy with job and family, but in the evening, her laptop comes out, her imagination gets going, and she morphs into a recluse who would be happy living in a cave, as long as it had wireless internet and an espresso machine.
Why did i wait so long to start reading Sophie Kisker’s Nectar for the Gods series? Because it is so much fun, even if i get uncomfortably aroused while reading how the men torture their little human slave…. And in Owned,Tressa isn’t even allowed to come….no,she’s edged throughout the story without any relief until the end!
To think, she only just signed the divorce papers to her cheating husband on Earth when she was snatched to be taken to Anteros….poor girl! She could be considered “lucky”,being saved from drowning at the very last minute by Joram, but it sure didn’t feel like it! Because to him,she was just a means to an end,a way to make money. And he wasn’t too kind about it,either… No,she was with him for one thing only,to produce as much gola’a nectar as she could. And the only way she could, was by edging…
His twin brother Keilat was kinder, thank heavens! He may have accepted she was their slave very easily, but he treated her a lot better than his brother. Giving her little treats if she behaved, and explaining things she didn’t understand. Treating her more like a person. But Joram lost a little of his uncaring act as he got to know her a little better. She slowly got under his skin, too….and he even started to care about her, just like his brother.
But then the King summoned them, wanting to see this slave that produced the very rare gola’a nectar. And things went very bad, very quick, from there…. Was there any way for Tressa to stay out of this cruel king’s hands? Or was she destined to be imprisoned and used until death?
This was an intense story, one that had me uncomfortably aroused throughout. That had me cursing Joram for treating her só badly! That had me sighing in relief his brother Keilat was the opposite. That had me feeling só sorry for Tressa, the idea of being enslaved and used for the rest of her life…. That had me cheering when things were starting to look brighter for her. And in the end….well, the end is something you’re going to have to read yourself!
The second book in the series (at least in the order of the box set, and I think it's a logical reading order) is set on Anteros in the kingdom of Raelia. The heroine, Tressa, is snatched off Earth and enslaved, but discarded because her "nectar" doesn't taste right. She's "rescued" by Joram who recognises that she's a very special "nectar" producer, and sets up a way of collecting her "nectar," first the repay the loan with which he bought her and second as tribute to the King. Because orgasms taint Tressa's nectar, she's edged throughout this story. Her "saviour," Joram, doesn't see her as a sentient being, at least not initially, and is only interested in her as a means to an end, so he treats her poorly. Joram as a character is a little tough to like, but does grow more sympathetic through the course of the story. His twin, Keilat, recognises Tressa's innate worth more readily and is more supportive of Tressa as she tries to acclimatise to her new life. I could see Tressa falling for Keilat, while her attraction for Joram felt a little forced. To me, this story contained the most extreme of the power-exchanges in the series, between the edging and the caging. The author does a great job of building tension through the story. Joram's a bit of a hustler and there's a sense of impending doom that escalates as Tressa's special status is discovered and she gets called in front of the King. She has a TSTL moment that was a little bothersome, but I understand why it was necessary from a plot perspective. The scene where the twins finally claim Tressa was as much a relief for me as it was for poor Tressa, but it's not for the faint of heart. If you like hard-core power-exchange, this is the book for you.
Book #1, Nectar for the Gods. Sophie Kisker has created an erotic sci-fi romance that's unpredictable and deliciously dark!
Do alternative realities exist? Tressa Overton never gave it much thought until the day she's pulled through a rift to Anteros. When she awakens, she's folded nearly in half in a too small cage in a warehouse. How'd this happen? Why? As she endures physical, emotional, even sexual torment, her cage ends up thrown aside in a corner, abandoned. Terrified? Oh, yes! But this is just the beginning! She soon learns three things. One, she's on another world, in an alternate reality. Two, there's no way back to Earth. Three, she's now something called a Nectar slave, owned by twin brothers, Joram and Keilat Dersa, with no rights whatsoever. She's theirs to use as they see fit. But that's not the end of it, not by a long shot. Tressa's no doormat. Feisty, defiant, full of rage, she fights the brothers tooth and nail. But Anterrins are huge, muscled, and dominant in the extreme. How does she stand a chance? Then comes the kicker. Tressa's not just a regular Nectar slave. She's a rare, once-in-a-lifetime find... a gola'a slave, a very valuable commodity, As Tressa tries to come to terms with her new existence and the unspeakable tortures used to produce the nectar the brothers demand, she and the brothers push each other to the limits. Hatred and disobedience from Tressa meet with sure and swift punishment. But the brothers find themselves fascinated by the little human. She's intelligent, beautiful, so different from anything they expected. She stirs something in them. And Tressa? She's learning things about herself she can't believe! Then, just as life seems to fall into a rhythm, betrayal rears its ugly head! The threat was always there, but when it finally arrives, no one's prepared for the consequences. When Tressa's defiance and anger erupt at the worst possible time, are the three prepared for the consequences? Tressa's punishment is beyond cruel and may just end her. What about Joram and Keilat? Tressa may be their property, but there's more they're not prepared to admit. Unknown to anyone, there are forces that may be stronger than any of them can deal with. In the end, is Tressa worth all this trouble? Do Joram and Keilat even want to deal with the trouble she's brought to their doorstep? Can they? Or will the powers arrayed against them take everything and leave nothing but brokenness in their wake?
I adore Sophie Kisker! She's one of the few authors who's on my automatic buy list. She's once again created a story filled with deliciously dark eroticism, twists and turns, a true roller coaster ride of emotions, with action and adventure woven in. Tressa is captivating! Ms. Kisker's crafted a unique heroine who's strong, brave, and utterly fearless in many ways. Yet throughout the book, as Tressa faces forces that would break a lesser person, she learns more and more about herself and proves just how people can grow, adapt, and ultimately overcome so very much. I started out despising Joram, Keilat, and pretty much everyone on Anteros. But appearances are often misleading. Keilat and Joram are so much more than stereotypical one-dimensional characters. In fact, every character in this book has layer upon layer of depth and individuality you seldom find in any book. I fell in love with Tressa, her fire, her feistiness. Joram and Keilat are so much more than you initially believe. I felt every second of every emotion at both ends of the spectrum and every point in between. The despair, utter chaos, moments of hope, snippets of peace, and the totally unexpected ending are riveting. Ms. Kisker has written an extraordinary story filled with terror, anguish, and uncertainty. But yet she still gives us hope. I adored Owned, and can't give it anything less than five stars! Thank you, Ms. Kisker, for such an incredible story!
One final note. Be an informed reader! This is an ADULT book. It contains explicit language and some dark, nonconsensual/dubious consensual sexual scenes. If you don't enjoy this genre, this may not be the book for you. There are book synopses and reviews available on Goodreads and Amazon. Use these resources. DON'T LEAVE A NEGATIVE REVIEW WHEN YOU KNOW YOU WON'T ENJOY THE BOOK. It's not fair to the author. She works extremely hard to provide a quality work product. If you know you'll object to the book's subject matter before you buy it, you're doing yourself and the author an extreme disservice.
Sophie Kisker writes some really, really hot stories with incredibly dominant males and strong yet submissive women. She's topped herself when it comes to Owned.
Tressa is a human woman who has been abducted and taken to Anteros. Human women are valued because they produce a nectar that Anterrin men love and can be addicted to. When each woman orgasms, she produces the nectar that the men want.
Joram and Keilat are twin brothers. When Joram rescues Tressa from being disposed of, he doesn't do it out of the goodness of his heart, he suspects that she is something called a gola'a nectar. These women produce a very special flavor and they are extraordinarily rare. He knows that he will be able to get a good price for either her or her nectar. He just wants to make sure that his family is taken care off, and Tressa is the perfect way to do that.
Since it's a Sophie Kisker book, you know that you are going to get some really hot sex along with a really hot story. You also know that you are going to get spankings, more spankings, and oh yeah, did I say spankings? Owned has all that and even more, and it is as addictive as the Anterrin men find human women. This is definitely a book where you want to take the time to savor and enjoy.
What a spellbinding introduction to the world of Anteros. Human women are stolen from Earth to satisfy a growing addiction for nectar. While most of them are treated abominably, Tressa is "lucky" that she fails a taste test, and an enterprising Anterrin male realizes what a prize she really is, and buys her to make lots of money with her "product". While the two brothers who bought Tressa feel safe to produce, collect and sell their first batch of nectar, disaster strikes and their slowly changing relationship is put to the test. Ms Kisker has created a world that is full of contradictions. Slavery and blatant disregard of life, a lucrative worldwide addiction, and loving D/s, MfM relationships. Not to forget her unique style of narrative, that turns an absolutely wrong style of society into a breathtaking, sizzling,... I'm running out of "polite" descriptive words!!! I can't wait to find out more about the things going on on Anteros!
I loved this story and it's unique plot. We learn that human woman, Tressa is abducted and finds herself set up to be a nectar slave. Tressa's nectar is deemed unsuitable and she is set aside to be destroyed. Jerom spots her in a secluded corner of the slave warehouse and makes a deal to purchase Tressa. Jerom has a twin named Keilat and the twins take a mate/slave to share. There is something special about Tressa, they think she is a gola'a nectar slave which if true, makes her very valuable. I enjoyed the book, it kept me turning pages to learn how it all works out on this new planet and for Tressa. I look forward to more nectar slave stories that I believe Sophie Kisker has planned!!!
I read this as part as this firsts anthology. And I'm not gonna be reading any more.
So this was....uh....different. In an awkward kind of way. Not like awkward awkward, but like this is weird. And that's not even why I didn't get into this story. It was just kind of boring. Plus the way these aliens treat their human slave was way too close to pet play for me, and that is something that makes me mad to read about.
Tressa had just signed her divorce papers and was on her way to lunch to celebrate with a friend when a rift opens in front of her and the next thing she knows she's being grabbed and pulled thru. Once she comes to again things just keep getting worse and worse for her. She doesn't even know she's being discarded and marked to be killed.
The one who "saves" her is Joram. He sees in her a huge money grab and takes a loan from a shady character so he can get her before she's drown. He is SUCH an asshole for most of the book. As humans in this society are slaves to be used until their use is thru and then gotten rid of, he doesn't even see her as as any sort of sentient being. Fortunately, his brother Keilat, is the complete opposite. He knows that she has a brain and he knows that she has feelings. He fears he is always too soft with Tressa, but I thought he was a way better master than his ass of a brother.
Joram saves Tressa because he thinks she has a special nectar not seen in a very long time. And that stuff is worth a lot. Turns out, he's right. So Tressa gets to suffer daily so that they can collect enough nectar to pay back the loan shark. Initially, that's how it was going to stay. But the more time these brothers spend with her, the more they start to get attached. Same for Tressa. So when they're found out and called before the king, nothing good can come from it. But of course the stupid human has to be fucking stupid and make things worse with her goddamn mouth. This is something that happens so often in books and it drives me crazy. WHY can't the girl keep her fucking mouth shut for 10 seconds!? And just like every other time, I can't help but feel she gets what she deserves after. This time though, even after she's punished, she's in for more trouble. I found it really, really, easy for the brothers to save her at the end. But at the same time, I didn't really care anymore.
So... hear me out! This is a very weird book but dim down the spicy parts, focus more on the world building and the secondary characters and I WOULD TOTALLY READ THIS BOOK AS A HANDMAID'S TALE SET IN SPACE OR SOMETHING! Because it's not bad at all and it has more conflict, character drama and emotional turmoil than any other romance book set on our planet read this year.
So... the writing, the conflict, the secondary characters... I loved them. And I loved the tension!! That was my favourite part. Even though you know you are reading a romance spicy book so HEA is going to happen, I still felt the tension and the suspense!
I also appreciated that the author has a disclaimer before you start the story because... because this is a weird book and consent is not something that exists for certain things (the nectar parts) and a lot of things are... well, Handmaid's Tale like, so obviously not confortable but very kinky at the same time.
Now what I really really disliked - other than the fact that the secondary characters have so much potential and I wish I knew more about them and this planet with two suns and two moons - were the steamy scenes! This year I read a lot of steamy scenes that were probably not my cup of tea nor curious about certain kinks, I just did not care about them and that was that. But the scenes in this book really made me feel uncomfortable and I am not sure if this is a kink or not or whatever. On the bright side - we are mainly talking about one scene because this book while it contains a lot of sexual elements, only one scene happens between our FMC and MMCs that is described more than I could stomach.
Anyway, I cannot believe I finally read an alien spicy book. And I guess I can see why people are into them.
So when I started reading this book. It really pissed me off. I couldn't believe how cold hearted Joram was treating Tressa. He was treating her no better then an animal to get what he wanted. It really made me mad.
Keilat on the other hand while firm with Tressa treated her much more gently and kind. He was aware that she was a sentient being. Even if they did look down on humans as nothing more then slaves and nectar slaves at that for what they produced when they had orgasms.
It took me a long time to forgive Joram for the way he treated Tressa and what his plans for her were. He truly had no care for her at the beginning of this story. That was something hard to take in. All though I kind of understand his reasonings for doing such a thing. It was still hard to swallow that cold hearted treatment of her.
Tressa is a bigger person than I would ever be in a similar situation. She somehow overcome all of this with Joram and learned to love him. Keilat was easier for me to understand because of his kindness to her... Joram it was hard to wrap my head around that. Though they did both begin to care and eventually love her.
I really liked the story even if I did find parts of it hard to read and understand. I am really looking forward to reading the next book in the series to see if I have similar feeling about that or if that story will change in some way.
The world created for this new series his horrifying, compelling, and begins with a fabulous story about Tressa from Earth who is forced to adapt to a complete change in status. It's hard to come up with the right adjectives to describe a world so awful but a story so hard to put down. The basic premise is rather cringe worthy actually, but oddly believable despite how "out there" it is. That is what I love about this particular author. Ms. Kisker has quite the talent for writing about strong women in unbelievable situations who react in ways that are believable.
Yes this is an erotic sci/fi fantasy, but I enjoy the level of thought put into the characters and their reactions. The society of Anteros is evil, but the people have come to accept the status of human women without any thought for the women themselves. What happens when they get to know an actual human woman is fascinating to me...
I'm very happy to know there will be more books written in this world. As the author says at the end of this story, there are many questions yet to be answered about this world and how it came to be.
I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
I was conflicted on this one. A world and reality unlike any other, and definitely hard-core Stockholm Syndrome turned to love.
Sophie did a great job of taking the reader down the characters' POV. The alien twins are ruthless but sweet, and the main character is used to another life in earth, being forced to submit and sell her...juices? It's spicy, leaves you edging all throughout the book (just like the character) then you're left questioning your feminist blood and angry fist waving at all the aliens sampling the women in public. Talk about humiliation at its finest, minus the pleasure, of course.
Parts of the story I was cringing like, "These aliens are crazy!" *insert Giorgio A. Tsoukalos meme here* And then I'm yelling at the characters mentally. 😂
Boy, oh boy! This was my first book by this author, and while I'm not complaining about alien peen or the writing, I'm unsure about continuing on about alien slavery turned lovers. Or am I glutton for punishment too? 👀 To be continued!
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I thought this might be something about like Zeus and Apollo, etc. It turns out it is about an entire alien race. A race that feels it is ok to pluck humans, ok human women up out of the sky and bring them to their home to take advantage of their nectar. I will not get into into this but this is extreme erotica that is difficult to write a review without getting into trouble. So...if you are interested in extreme erotica with pain inflicted and not always for pleasure. At first I liked the alien,Joram, for saving her from death but he was so mean. His twin, Keilat less so. But slowly they fell in love with the small human woman, Tressa. To the point that money no longer mattered and only her life did. They rose up really high in my estimation when they went and saved her at risk to themselves and others just to get her back before he disposed of her. This was not my favorite book to read even of erotica but I appreciated it had some sort of storyline. 6/10
Oh My Lanta! This is seriously hot!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥 Tressa is torn from her world in the blink of an eye and wakes up in a cage ... on an alien planet... and all of her orifices filled. I mean can you get much of a better set up than that? I’m not giving spoilers, but be sure you are ok with noncon and dubcon. Ms. Kisker does an amazing job, as always, at not only telling the story but exploring the emotions that go along with being thrust into the life of a slave. I also loved Joram’s hardness and Keilat’s contrasting softness. I couldn’t stop reading until the very last word.... and I hope she hurries with the next book. I can’t wait to read more stories in this new world she has created. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This is one of those stories where kidnapping happens, and the heroine of the story thinks screaming obscenities and making demands is perfectly safe. ... And when the truth kicks her in the teeth she's sad but winds up doing it over and over again because she never learns from her mistakes. Yes, that is this book in a nutshell. I found myself wanting worse and worse things to happen to this moron because she is just too stupid to live. I knew this was going to be a dark story, but I've never been so annoyed with a female lead character to the point that I wished the worst for her, until now. Needless to say, I do not recommend this book.
This is the first book in a new series by Sophie Kisker taking place on the world of Anteros.
I really enjoyed this book. The way Tressa lands on the world is very original as is the way human woman are being used. If you are familiar with Sophie Kisker books you know she loves to create new worlds filled with strong, intelligent women and men. Characters who aren’t perfect, but that always makes them more real. Who try to make the best of a difficult situation and find out things about themselves they weren’t aware of before.
It is a real original story with dark themes, but there is also humor, sweet, tender and sexy moments
Wow Ms Kisker has really outdone herself with this book. And hopefully series! The world of Anteros is elaborately created. It's picturesque and cruel. All the characters are well written, described and developed. Very human! There are lots of disciplinary spankings and some abuse. Definitely not for the feint hearted but hot and sexy! There is slow burgeoning understanding between the three main characters. A really great read. You will finish before you are ready. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book and I highly recommend it. I hope that this is the start of a hot new series. Please!
She was dragged from Earth to another planet. She awoke in a tiny cage with no dignity. There were other women here with her in the room but suddenly she is put aside. Then twin brothers have her at their place and make her drink that makes her horny with no end in sight. They collect her nectar without giving her pleasure. What is going on ! This SciFi is fascinating reading. Is there more on the background of this planet?
Tressa has been abducted from Earth and taken to Anteros and told her only purpose is to produce nectar for Anterrins. When her nectar is declared unsuitable she is scheduled to be destroyed. Joram believes Tressa actually is very special and very rare but can he and his brother use her or will they keep her for themselves. Good story and VERY HOT. I loved it!
For what it is, it’s quite well written. A lot of suspension of disbelief is required. The storyline is fun. The steamy bits are hot. The world in which the story takes place is interesting. The characters are somewhat two-dimensional, but that’s necessary with such an over the top story. This is pure filthy fun reading.
I seriously couldn’t stop reading until I finished the book… Tressa was abducted from Earth at what should have been the beginning of a wonderful new chapter in her life. Instead she’s thrown into a nightmare existence on another planet. Joram and his twin brother Keilat keep he as a slave and things get even worse when she attracts unwanted attention…
Totally a smut story because seriously? I can't even. This was someone's late night fantasy written down I guess. Still there was adequate world building and a coherent story with decent writing. So 2 stars. It was okay. Will I read more? IDK
The premise for this story is super unique. I liked the characters and the ending was great. The world building was so phenomenal, you could almost picture the scenes as they happened. A hot sexy quick read.
Enjoyed the alien book.two alien take a female and they have lots of fun. It all sounds quite brutal but the devlope love and the bond it's got action and a lot of Turning on.
This story of Tressa and alien brothers Joram and Keilat is hot! I'm surprised my Kindle didn't burst into flames. Their journey to their HEA isn't easy but so worthwhile to read. I just wish it had been longer. I can't wait to read the next book in the series.
Never been into the alien romance/erotica but hot damn! Great plot and very steamy! Strongly recommend if you want hot alpha males that are super protective of their mate.
Interesting storyline, great world building, author did great at providing the warnings of what to expect in advance. Curious to see where the next story is taken and if the king is the villain.
