sci-fi/detective series of short stories set in Atlantis which follow polymath and amateur sleuth Elisha Grey as chronicled by his associate Kiara Ptolmai, half-Atlantean daughter of a diplomat. Ninth in the series, it contains 3 short "The Mesmerist" where a person with hypnotic abilities influences Kiara Ptolmai, who is the architect renovating his property; "The Tainted Soil" where Kiara Ptolmai's son discovers that soil quality is killing vegetables in the garden and leads to him remembering his previous lifetime as a chemist; and "Constable Saukenuk Misses Her Lecture", where Elisha Grey is forced to investigate the murder of his former lover which has overtones of sexual abuse.
