a more interesting team than the young avengers, just wish it was one concise story (like runaways, which i understand is hard bc its a team up crew) bc it was just jumping around with no beginnings and no ends, I had such high hopes!!!

not my favorite collection - the story was disjointed and hard to follow between the chapters. Beautiful art though <3

I’ve really enjoyed my return to reading superhero books but it wasn’t until I started reading “Champions” that I felt the vibe I got from reading Claremont era X-Men when I was a kid. So glad books like this exist, both for me and my kids.

Champions: Because the World Still Needs Heroes is decent. It’s got a solid cast of characters: Miles Morales, Ms. Marvel, Viv Vision, Cyclops, Totally Awesome Hulk, and Nova, joining up together after getting sick of the Avengers. The art is fantastic, and the dialogue is good, but if you’re going to call this book a collection, I absolutely shouldn’t need to buy other books to know the context of some of these stories! The thing is, there were multiple points in the book where you would get invested in one story, then turn to the next page, and then it would be a completely different story altogether. I don’t know why this would happen, but it was so infuriating! I didn’t think I finished the full story when I finished this book. It just jumps from story to story so much it begins to get hard to track. That is probably my only complaint about this book, though, but that still brings it down a couple of stars for me, so 3.6 stars. Good, but not great. I wouldn’t recommend this if you’re looking for Champions, though. Hopefully at some point another collected edition will come out with actual comprehensible stories.

I was a big fan of the original CHAMPIONS, so when I saw that this collection of 12 comics included Ms. Marvel and Nova--I couldn't resist. I enjoy Mark Waid's stories, and I wasn't disappointed.
Ms. Marvel is like a female Captain America in her righteousness and they even say so in the book. The Hulk is a bit arrogant and yet somehow adorable. I read the early stories of Nova and his father, so I was thrilled to see him in action here. I never read Viv before, she was a new character for me, but really interesting. I didn't realize that Miles Morales could turn invisible --when did that happen?

At the end MARVEL RISING was very reminiscent of the future world that MC2 with Tom DeFalco created (including Spider-Girl). I look forward to seeing what comes next.

I did like this, and I LOVE this format for the collection (this has issues #1-12), but I admit I had to pause several times to try and figure out wth was going on in the marvel universe. I was unimpressed by the Freelancers as villains. I very much like the core three of Ms. Marvel, Nova and Spider-Man and the rest were growing on me. I hope there will be a second collection!

I'm all about this young team. It's been a while since I read Vision and now I want to go back and read Viv's origin - she may be my favorite on this team. Kamala has lost a bit of her personality in this series but I do enjoy what they're doing with this new team.

Super cute, I love them all. Of course, it wouldn't be comics without some major thing happening offscreen (i.e in another book) and making everything sort of confusing. But I'm used to that.

Me ha gustado bastante. Liviano pero divertido. Los personajes molan.
Deseando leer los siguientes de este grupo.
