Driving home from a successful client pitch just days before Christmas, marketing superstar Ashley Tidings is ready for pajamas, popcorn and plenty of binge-watching.
Then a blizzard closes the highway, her cell phone dies, and her car runs out of gas in the middle of nowhere!
Seeking refuge, Ashley stumbles across Camp Cedarwood, where she spent a summer in her teens and experienced a whirlwind romance, culminating in an almost-kiss and a heartbreaking rejection. A Christmas program is in full swing at the camp, run by the handsome and charming Marc Rollier, the same man Ash turned down all those summers ago.
Now, with the snow falling and the roads closed for days, Ashley becomes Cedarwood's newest camper. The camp has a lot in-store for her: guests to befriend (including a family with a tragic secret), a decades-old mystery to solve, and an exciting (and embarrassing) Christmas Cup competition that will put her head-to-head against Marc. And as Ashley feels drawn back to Cedarwood, and Marc, she's going to find out if the middle of nowhere is the best place for second chances.
Christmas at Camp Cedarwood is a heartwarming, wholesome Christmas romance that will have you laughing, crying and believing in the power of love and the magic of the season during the most wonderful time of the year.
A wonderful Christmas novel. About the spirit of giving, healing, loving, and believing. I enjoyed the friendships between the characters who are staying at this fun Christmas Camp. Great characterizations. I hope more stories will be written!
Wow! This had so many feels! I laughed, I cried, I got goosebumps, and so much more! I loved the development of Ash's character and how she grew throughout this book. So heartfelt and bittersweet.
This book is a perfect reminder of the true meaning of the Christmas season. The characters are truly memorable and by the end I can guarantee your heart will be touched by the joy and magic of the story!
Ashley is her way home in a very heavy snowstorm. . The way home was becoming worst and her fuel out light is pretty scary.. A lot of light and a policeman has her brought to a stop.. The road ahead has become impossible but he lets her know there is a workable detour hopes there will be some place to get fuel. But then she sees a sign for Camp Cedarwood and takes that turn. She is hoping to at least get to a phone while there. She is amazed to see several cars parked.finds out Christmas camp is happening. And then the man who comes to help turns out to be Marc who she had known as a counselor at summer camp 15 years ago. Well a lot of great things happen in this story. I really enjoyed it and I am pretty sure you would also. Well crafted characters thanks to a marvelous story teller.
I was super engaged the first part of the book because it was a sweet story, but then Ashley became annoyingly judgmental and making the rudest comments that were all just ignored by everyone and she was made out to be this amazing person. Calling Janice and roger’s relationship weird, getting mad at Marc for talking about Adam when someone who knew him asked, etc. there were also just too many characters to keep track of. Overall though a different plot line for a cute christmas story.
Christmas at Camp Cedarwood by Holly Welland is a cozy, festive read. It definitely got me in the Christmas spirit. I also thought the relationship between Marc and Ashley was sweet and competitive. I found it refreshing that it was the male that was really hurt by their past parting of ways. I do wish more would have transpired between Marc and Ashley than a couple of sweet kisses. Overall, this was a heartwarming first seasonal read and I can't wait to see what happens in the next book.
This is a book that will will always remain in my heart and memory. Imaginative. Filled with humor, friendship, romance and mystery all set in a snowy, winter camp leading up to Christmas. I highly recommend this book and look forward to sequels.
This is a wonderful story, with all the pain going on now, I felt so good after reading. I can't wait to see what lies in store for Ashley. Marc and most of all Adam....A courageous little boy.
If you're looking for a book that captures the magic of Christmas, this is it. Great characters and a lovely story. Highly recommended for those who love happy endings 😊
Pretty good story overall. Classic snowed in/stranded at a camp in the wilderness at Christmastime...predictable but sweet. Long lost teenage loves are reunited but the spice was pretty meh for me honestly. Lots of flirting that doesn't go very far. Shiny happy ending -- kid with cancer DOESN'T die, so that's a nice turn of events.
