This final book in the trilogy may be the best of the three. I didn’t think the violence warning was necessary, but I’m not a teen. I suppose it would be too violent for kids under high school age; a bunch of people die. The book deals with political revolution.

There were new characters in “Launch,” and we finally get to meet someone hinted about since Book One. Thea is still my favorite, but the whole series is full of strong women. I was glad to see Skye initiate every romantic encounter from the first book to the last. Bravo for women who call the shots!

“Launch” was longer that the other two books, but many pages were dedicated to character avatars. It probably wasn’t necessary—I could tell whose voice was speaking in each chapter. I’ve never seen it done quite this way before.

The last three sentences of the book sum up the entire trilogy. No spoilers so I’ll say it was well done, though not unexpected.

There were subtle and not-so-subtle references to current political events. I read the first book in the trilogy a few years ago, so I probably should have re-read it first.

The trilogy is notable for its inclusion of diverse characters. The best friends of the protagonist are a black 16-year-old named Janine and a gay 17-year-old named Henry. There were several social justice issues woven into the plot. This tied in well with the animal biodiversity theme from the first book.

I can recommend this trilogy as a fast-paced fun read with timely messages on the environment, climate change, and politics that don’t bludgeon the reader. I enjoyed the romance parts and the animal characters. This final book is definitely a cross-over that adults will enjoy.

This was a really satisfying end to the series! One of my favorite things about this particular book was how many characters’ perspectives we got to see the plot play out from. Especially since there was so much action across time/space I liked that we got to see everything unfold from multiple points of view. The story also subtly mirrored what’s happening in our own lives currently (especially with the virus and our leadership). This might have been my favorite of the whole series! I just loved the way it wrapped up. The character development in this too just made me grow fond of the all star cast. My favorite character is probably Tane. Overall great series!
