Action in Little Leaf Creek is the fast-paced fourth book in the Little Leaf Creek Cozy Mystery Series. If you like unexpected twists and turns, lively personalities, and a never-ending list of suspicious characters, then you’ll love Cindy Bell’s heartwarming whodunnit.
A twisty mystery set at Christmastime in Little Leaf Creek had a filming crew and acting troupe in town and one of their crew getting murdered. Meanwhile, Cassie's boyfriend Sebastian was acting a little odd and she may or may not've seen him with a woman so she wasn't sure whether to think he was stepping out on her or what. I had a feeling I knew what was going on, but I hadn't guessed the killer. The woman was connected to the murder but in a good and informational way, so it didn't take long to bring the perp in.
Maybe Cassie's first Christmas in her new town wasn't a traditional dinner, but it sure seemed like family with all their friends in town gathered at the diner. It was really cool!
Cassie Alberts is working one of her shifts at Mirabel's diner when Mirabel becomes very excited to learn that one of her favorite television shows is coming to film in Little Leaf Creek. Cassie is not familiar with the show but her and Tess become very involved when one of the show's producer is found murdered. While investigating the murder Cassie sees Sebastian with a strange woman and begins to question their relationship. I love this series and the characters involved. They seem to grow with each new book. If you enjoy cozy mysteries, you will enjoy this series. I received an advance copy of this book. This is my honest opinion.
It’s a Country Christmas for Cassie, widow of a big-city CEO. But looks like the town was going all Hollywood when a TV show was scheduled to film its latest episode there.
The storyline of the TV crew mingling with the country folks was okay, but it does take a long while to get the main event. The dead body isn’t found until chapter 6, which is kind of late in the game.
It’s a bit repetitive with the same info relayed so much between the characters. Long and slow as Cassie and the neighbor go over the suspect list as they bake holiday cookies.
Little Leaf Creek is full of mystery as Anton, a local boy that made a name for himself with a popular TV series, is home to shoot an episode at his parent's property. The woman in charge is mean and stirring up trouble for locals and the people of the program. When she is murdered, Cassie needs to help Tessa find the guilty party. Narrowing down the suspects is hard with everyone keeping secrets. Can they help Oliver find the guilty person before the cast and crew leave town?
A popular tv show is going to shoot an episode in Little Leaf Creek and the residence are excited and apprehensive; is this really something good for their town? When Sandy, one of the behind the scene workers is murdered, Cassie can't seem to help herself she gets involved again. At least this time around, she seems to at least wonder if she should be involved. At times Cassie really irritates me, sticking her nose in police business. At least Tessa is thete.
A hometown actor returns to Little Leaf Creek to film a movie. His director, a mean spirited woman, is killed on his parents property where the movie was to be filmed. Ollie, Tessa, and Cassie all have their hands full of suspects as they all had a reason to want the director dead.
Sebastian and Cassie hit a rough patch in their new personal relationship. Are their feelings toward each other strong enough to get past the issue?
After Cassie's wealthy husband died she bought a house sight-unseen and moved to Little Leaf Creek. She meets her next door neighbor, Tessa, a former police officer and somewhat of a recluse. Her house is a fixer upper and she soon meets Sebastian, the neighbor behind who helps her do repairs. First thing is she finds a body...
I enjoyed the fourth book in the series and am awaiting the release of number five. The characters are developing and interacting more interestingly. The 40 year old heroine is a bit on the naïve side. However, I read through the first 4 books in one day because they were entertaining and a bit off beat.
This was another fast paced mystery by Cindy Bell. Although some people may deserve a good killing, it's just not nice. There were a lot of suspects, but the ending was a surprise to me, in more ways than one. Cassie may get a love life whether she ready for it or not. My life is reading, so I'm off to find my next adventure.
This book kept my attention throughout the book. I was surprised who the villain was as there were so many suspects. The sleuthing duo, Cassie and Tessa, were out on the trail, but were as confused as Oliver, the sheriff was. Well written and the characters are strong and likeable. On to the next book. Recommend reading.
Good plot but too many characters to keep track of. If a TV show was filming in my small town, there would be people everywhere. it was thin. No one was bugging the actors, For the most part, there was little interaction between the actors and the town folks ... but I still couldn't figure out the killer. 😀 An enjoyable but quick read.
Cassie finally gets Tessa to agree to take the goats to the Christmas fair, when a producer for a famous show being filmed in Little Leaf Creek, is found murdered. The two decide to sleuth together again, much to Ollie's chagrin.
This rating was well deserved with strong characters and a strong storyline. Cindy Bell is an excellent author and am looking forward to her next story.
It was full of surprises, and kept me wondering all the way through. It's great to read how Cassie is making new friends in the new town. Quite a few new characters who get a little confusing. But they solve the mystery. Thanx again Cindy!
Wonderful writing, wonderful reading and wonderful story!! I'm looking forward to the next one of this series. Can't wait to see how they all work together and solve cases!
I found this an interesting read. Cassie is a likable character and initially I wasn’t fond of Tessa but I’ve gotten to like her better. Sebastian and Oliver seem like good guys. Each book has gotten more exciting.
Murder, mystery and intrigue with Cassie and Tessa on the case hunting down suspects and clues. Lots of people to fill the role but it takes quite a bit to narrow things down. Entertaining throughout with a fair bit of action and suspense.
Love this series! Cassie and the gang are highly believable characters, easy to relate to.just the right mix of twists and turns, throw in the red herring or 2, and you get a very enjoyable read!
I love everything Cindy Bell writes and this book was no exception. It did slow down in a few places and there were mistakes here and there, but I read every word!
