In order to win, sometimes you have to risk everything.
The incel group, Kings of Gaming, has hit too many of the top gamers. In big ways or small, they've all suffered. For Special Agent Jason Raige, this case has become his life – in ways he never expected.
These victims are now his friends. They've been there when he needed them the most, and he's made them his informants. Together, they're a virtual army made of geeks and hackers. One he's about to unleash on the men who are trying to destroy any woman they can.
Until KoG targets Jason's fiancée.
That's the biggest mistake they've ever made. If these fools think this will make him back off, they're about to get a big surprise. Fighting battles online is one thing, but when it's taken to the real world? That puts them in his crosshairs.
For years, he's done everything right, played within the rules, and obeyed the law. Going after the people he loves? Screw justice. Those fools have no idea what kind of monster they've just unleashed.
This is going to be a death match. One way or another, the game is over.
The Gamer Girls series features strong women and the men who love them. Knowledge about gaming and/or gamer culture is not necessary to enjoy this story. Graphic language and situations that are suitable for a mature audience are included.
GAME OVER is the wrap-up of the series and concludes the story.
TRIGGER WARNING: discussions of gun violence, racism, transgender issues, stalking, bullying, cyber harassment, excessive violence, assault, mental health issues, and more. This is a love story, but finding love isn't always easy.
The final book of the Gamer Girls series! The beginning was a bit slow. They had a lot of set backs. But the last 150 pages just rushed by. This book had all emotinons: happiness, because the Gamer Girls get their happy ending, anxiety because something big was coming, sadness because this series come to an end and many more.
I really loved the whole series. The books were all connected but not similar. I enjoyed the characters and the story. And even though one of the topics is Gaming, you do not have to be a gamer to relate to the stories. You could replace Gaming with other stuff, where women enjoy things, that in the past guys would enjoy more.
I'm kind of sad to let Dez, Riley, Kitty, Kate, Rhaven and Zara and their guys and family go. I will reread a lot because if I don't I will miss them.
Edit 2024: I still adore this series and love the found family theme.
oh how i love this series i literally cant get over it as a gamer girl i love seeing good rep and this series is IT (more like I.T) this books are long af but consistently good which is like... slay!?!? the first book was a slow SLOW burn with a lil tiny bit of second chance and it was really just a world building book book 2 was adorbs and really gave insight into the authors version of the gamer world and I can PERSONALLY vouch for almost everything in these books. Think of the most vile and unimaginable things that can be said to someone and I have been called it 3rd book i skimmed for some reason even though it like had the officeish romance trope but anyways 4th book used POVS from book 2 which i LOOOVED book 5 was deep in multiple ways and dealt with still present issues and so so much racism but was actually really well dealt with!??! and dont even get me started on book 6... IT HAD AN ACTUALLY WELL WRITTEN TRANS FEMALE WITH ACCURATE SPICY SCENES LIKE STOP MY HEART CANT TAKE IT okay now onto the actual book review LMAO it was the perfect ending to this series like im talking final book of core 6 ending which you know we ALL cried to... they used povs from all the previous books and put little texts at the start of each chapter like cmon that is so cute C; they even dealt with relationship issues and talked about poly couples and glob how i wish Knock got their own books like even a novella would do anyways if you need a good cry just go read this series i need someone to talk to about it
Surprise- back to Jason. I love him but it was not as deep into their story since it was ultimately about every one of the characters in this book.
Although I rushed into this from book 6 about Rhaven, I found that I missed her! I wanted to know more and this story tried to deliver. These stories have educated me about a gaming world (granted fiction) but in a really believable way. And about abuse, PTSD, service animals, how we all need our core of friends to save us, bullying (cyber and in person), etc. Very well done.
I have to say, it was a curious way to end a series, very creative. The story blurb gives it away, something happens to Zara and Jason goes deep. So no spoiler there.
What is the spoiler is that it happens AFTER you are treated to glimpses of future and happy endings for everyone before shit hits the fan. Very unique and satisfying.
You get to sit there and enjoy their happy life choices and its not a big rush at the end to try to show a snap shot of their futures together, you actually get to experience it for hours- because man, this is a long book!!
One problem- overuse of the word "kinda". I swear, its 1-2x almost every page! Kinda over it ladies.
I totally recommend this series- the language becomes quite heavy after a while so probably best to take a break and come back refreshed :) and keep reading to the end.
Great writing, excellent character and relationship development, interesting plot. However, something was missing for 5 stars and I cannot pinpoint what. Maybe everyone was too perfect? *Shrug* Either way, definitely recommend to read!
This whole series is a great ensemble piece about women who play video games primarily dominated by men and the relationships/friendships they build as a result of their gaming. I loved that the romantic relationships weren't traditional. Committed non-monogamy being somewhat normal, even if it was never really acted upon, it was still ok. It was like, "I love you, but don't own you and you'll still be my soul mate even if you act on an attraction to someone else". And it went both ways: both partners, regardless of gender, were accepting of this relationship. I enjoyed this aspect of the books, even if I couldn't apply it to my own experiences.
I feel like I learn so much about myself whilst reading books and this series opened my eyes to gaming culture. My own experiences are limited and though I love playing first person shooter games, playing with strangers online made me uncomfortable as a woman. I certainly never felt welcome, but this was like 10 years ago lol. This series seems like it was written for the women who've felt the same as me: wanting to play, but being excluded because of our gender by jerks who think women should "get back in the kitchen" and leave the shooting games to men. Boys club only, you know?
It makes me wonder though, who are the women that date these kinds of men? It feels like these dudes don't like women for more than for satisfying their 🍆 urges. Maybe if it was just a hookup, but would they be a selfish lover? Most likely. So, no thanks. But also, just to change the subject, if a man wanted to join a primarily female dominated game, how would he be accepted? That's fun to think about. Well, for me anyway.
I'm hoping women working or playing in gaming or computers are having an easier time, but with news coming out from Activision and other tech companies regarding the treatment of women, it's clear that we still have a lot of fighting to do before being respected as equals in the industry.
This series was great for a lot of reasons, and I will never give anything Kitty Cox writes on less than 5 stars because she deserves it.
Having said that, book 6-7 were a bit clunky. Some plot points felt sloppy... like the FBI not being able to prosecute or arrest Arturo five books prior because he drugged Dez. He would have been out of the picture and wasn't a strong enough adversary to not be taken out almost immediately. That they started this series with a kidnapping and ended with one felt predictable. I didn't like that every single main ended up paired because it didn't feel organic, like Kitty's books do when she writes alone. It also felt long winded in a lot of places, them going over that everyone is "flawed" or how relationship dynamics worked. One of my biggest grievances though, was Psych and Braden basically making all of the choices for their relationship without Rhaven. I also didn't like that Rhaven went from having no self confidence in book 6 to strutting through book 7. There wasn't enough time to develop all the characters to making their romances feel like they had depth. It felt forced and kept breaking the reality aspect of the plotline.
Having said all that, I loved that it was a group of gamers, devs, hackers and found family working against a group of incel peices of shit. I loved that triumphant feeling that was achieved for Riley and Dez that felt like Kitty Cox, because all her books feel so rewarding to read. I'm guessing my biggest problems had to do with the fact that Hadley wrote on this series too, and I've never been able to get through one of her books.
Okay. Let me preface this by saying I am not a gamer, and I could not put this book down. This series has had me hooked from the very first page of Flawed when I met Destiny—broken, lost and waiting for someone to help her realise she could rise above it. And with each additional book in the series, each new member of the Flawed family, I’ve only become more invested.
This book…it’s a happy ever after that paints a picture of a world I want to live in. One where the arseholes don’t win, as so often in life they do. One where women recognise their strength and use it to help others. One where people know that teamwork isn’t about being a hero, but about being the supports that help achieve the goal in any way possible.
Yes, this book has darker themes. Read the trigger warnings before you pick any of them up. But in essence, the Flawed series is a true homage to feminism and a very pointed middle finger at the men who think women belong in the kitchen.
I know authors don’t usually read these reviews, but if you do…
Thank you Auryn and Kitty. 1-click authors for sure.
Overall this series was fan-fucking-tastic. There is so much to love. The diversity, the suspense and action, the relationships both romantic and platonic. So many friendships and family units were forged. This series can only truly be enjoyed by someone who is open minded and supportive of all human beings.
Couples!!!
I was going to do a breakdown of each couple but decided against it. If you are going to read this series, I don't want my review influencing your opinion of anyone. I will say that each woman is unique and strong in their own way. I appreciate the diversity of the women, their beauty, body types, and personalities all differed, as were the men. All of the men in this series were likable. They were all strong but not over the stop alphas. If I had to choose favorites it would be Murder and Jason. Favorite ladies are Rhaven and Zara.
I am so glad that I found this series and will be reading everything Auryn Hadley produces.
It’s the end of the series but oh what an ending it was. I loved seeing everyone come together, putting all their brilliant minds working towards a common goal. It was good to see how everyone interacted. Kitty just as fierce, Riley just as head strong, Dez just as determined, Kate just as resilient, I could go on and on. Not to mention the men!! The twists and turns had me on the edge of my seat. The growth made me proud. The romance made mushy. But the hit to my soul was Cyn. The way he charges in to be the hero knowing what it would do to him. I loved the realistic way that things were written. Even though the games over, there was still the lingering struggles. No one heals over night but the road getting there warmed my heart. Can’t wait until the next book from Auryn or Kitty is out. Or another mash up. (Hint hint.)
Everything I've ever wanted in a series and yet didn't even know I did before I started reading it!
Gamer Girls is spectacular. I wasn't expecting what I got when I started reading Virtual Reality (the first book I read in this series) and I can honestly say this series has changed me.
This book is the perfect ending to this series. You will get a little bit of everyone, to make sure that you get to say goodbye and feel good about where everyone is or is heading in their lives. It is what you need from the last book in a long series. I cried, I gasped, I even was afraid to turn the page a few times... but trusting the authors was the right call. They did right by everyone in this series! EVERYONE!
I can now go back and give FTW 5 stars... I was holding off... my heart was breaking and now... it's healed!
Nothing more to say. This series ends with this book. I am torn between regret this is the last book and shear joy that true love and teamwork brings almost endless happy ever after. Started reading this on kindle unlimited but couldn't stand not owning it so I could read it again. Too much indepth ideas and problems are spotlighted and developed so you are caught really contemplating them. I found out how truely clueless I am in many areas. If you enjoy learning while reading, having something to twist and turn in your mind to discover where you personally stand then this and the previous 6 books should be given a chance. Note definitely read prologs as some topics can be "triggers" as she puts it. I hope you enjoy these books BUT not if they would upset you.
I dove I totally his series and was totally sucked in. However, the last two books have totally changed my opinion. It was really hard trying to get through this book. I wanted to know how it ended and that’s the only reason why I finished it. You start tossing around phrases like “toxic masculinity” and you loose me. I’m tired of agendas making their way into everything.
This series was awesome until it went to feminist for me. Sorry, I like a masculine man. Not an ass hole or bully, but a man’s man. I’m not on board for the campaign to destroy men. Nope, sorry. I’m woman enough to say I love manly men. NOT BULLIES. There is a difference. These past couple books blur it all together and I’m done. Pretty sure I won’t be reading any more by these 2 authors. I’m tired of agendas.
This is now the 3rd Auryn Hadley series I've read, and it was just as engaging as I expected. The world building is superb and I was really invested in the characters and story arc. Jason is also the character with some of the most noticeable character growth--which is one of the best parts of any book or series IMHO--so him being a primary focus in the last book felt right.
That being said, there were a handful of instances in this series, as with one of her others, where her phrasing or her portrayals of PoC were slightly problematic. Note that I never got the impression it was malicious or intentional vs. based in ignorance. If she were to start using a sensitivity reader and a more diverse pool of alpha/ beta readers, I could see her becoming a favorite.
This was a phenomenal end to such a fantastic and inspiring series. I started reading it for the romance, and stayed for the strength and the power of the women I wish now were real so I could idolise them. Hell, I idolise them anyway. Not a single woman in these books let life keep her down, and didn't depend on the man for everything. Instead he just showed her what she could do, and let her raise hell on her own terms. None of them changed who they were for somebody, the only change was their confidence and their family. All the sensitive topics were handled with care, and made sure to make the situation as realistic as possible. Thank you so much, Auryn and Kitty, for giving us hope as gamer girls.
I have to start by saying wow. Just, wow! I devoured the Gamer Girls series. Laughed and cried with this series. Picked up the first one not knowing what to expect and it wiped the floor with my emotions. Waiting for the final installment about did me in.
In this book you’ll find all the characters you love from the first six. I don’t want to spoil anything so just buy it, read it, and fall in love with them all over again. Brava, Auryn and Kitty!
I did receive an ARC of this book, but I also purchased it. I just couldn’t wait till release day to read it! This whole series will be on my recommend and reread list.
The gamer girls series has been a favourite of mine since the first book released. Auryn and Kitty have created a group of friends (family really) that hold each other up when they feel weak, commiserate with them for their flaws and never try to "fix" them...knowing that no one in this world is perfect. Love the conclusion to the KoG story (hated what Dez and the others had to go through in the end but knew it was necessary) and love the fact that there will be more in the future for these characters via Ruin. Thank you ladies, a very well done conclusion to my favourite series.
First I was so shocked this book dropped. I honestly thought I’d be waiting a year for the ending but a little after the last book unexpectedly this one was ready for download. I’m sad to see this end, but also happy with the way it ended. The bad guy wasn’t who I thought it was going to be and honestly the fact that he was some joe who had a grudge really shocked me. He made it out like he was the king among men and he was nothing. I loved seeing all the couples working together, surviving, and getting their happy endings. I loved the different social issues these books brought to life. I hate that this was it. I wasn’t ready. Game over though.
What a way to end a series. I’m devastated that it’s over and that I have to say goodbye to all of these characters that I’ve fallen in love with. Every single one of them has a piece of my heart. I love their flaws, their strength, their sense of family, and their unending love and support for each other. I will read this series over and over again. If you haven’t yet or are waffling for any reason, I highly suggest you not wait another minute. There are some hard things to deal with and may have some triggers for some people but for me it was how real they all were that pulled me in.
OMG this was such a wonderful and thrilling and beautiful wrapup. Thinking about the series ending always makes me cry a little bit. It was so good and such beautiful descriptions and writing, the action was off the charts, the thought in detail that went into this series was evident in its words and emotions. The level of reality was a little jarring but so welcome. I just adored this entire series and I’m sad to see it end. At least I think this is the end but I hope it’s not, can we get some sequels or something please? Once again I love these authors, both of you rock! PS; I would give this entire series above five stars or even seven stars if I could.
Omg they're wrapping this up so nicely and I'm only 34% done? Prepare for heartbreak. Previous books in this series were told from two, perhaps three points of view. In this final installment every major character had segments from their POV and lots of text messaging from with the secondary characters to keep everything tied together. Fast pacing and incredible tension had me reading the last three books in this series in under 48 hours. The only complaint I could make is that by the time we meet the true villain he's become so unhinged that it's hard to believe him as the brilliant mastermind that had been so impossible to track for eight years.

This book is a great finish to the series. I loved seeing everyone come together, putting all their brilliant minds working towards a common goal, and getting the bad “guys”. This book, and the entire series, gives such insight into the internet and gaming communities and really makes you think about cyber bullying its focus is on sexism and racism. Yet this series is about a group of people coming together and supporting each other through thick and thin. The issues are real but the answers can be also. But more than that it’s about people finding their “family” and being comfortable with breaking down barriers.
Gamer Girls was maybe the second or third series I picked up when I first started Kindle Unlimited. I was hooked from the beginning, and seeing this series get new life and new fans when it looked like it might be over thrilled me beyond belief. The characters are real, the writing is impeccable, and most of all, it helps the reader believe that being flawed isn't such a bad thing after all. Thank you, Kitty and Auryn, for writing a series that touched me to the depths of my soul. It may be over, but it was a hell of a ride.
There are a lot of characters weaved through this story, and even though I have only read book 6 and book 7, it was easy to pick up their stories. I had to look up some of the gaming or technical terms as I am from a time without computers. However, this did not detract from the story it actually added a sense of intrigue and purpose for me. The story is 600 pages of tiny threads, where all the characters throughout the series get their moment. I was left with no questions but a deep satisfaction with the concepts of family and relationships portrayed.
Game Over was an enjoyable read, though it wasn’t my favorite in the Gamer Girl series. Auryn Hadley did a great job tying up loose ends, and the action, emotions, and character development were all well done. While I loved seeing how the story wrapped up, I can’t help but feel a little sad that this is the final book in the series—I’m really going to miss these characters and their journey. Overall, it was a solid conclusion, just not the strongest installment for me. Still, I’d definitely recommend the series to anyone who loves a good gaming inspired adventure.
This series is one of my favorites! Auryn Hadley and Kitty Cox ended this series with a bang. I have completely enjoyed watching the characters grow and the story expand. There were so many twists and turns, and with each book I fell a little more in love with characters of the series. I hope we get to see them again later on through other series since this was the end of this one.
Can't say how much I love this series!! The story, the character development and the hea's!! And I can't believe he was *right there* the entire time!! I'll have to go back and re-read the series - probably a million times!! Loved the concept, and I still think cyn is my favorite character in this series!! A must read!! What're you waiting for?? Go!! Read!! Fall in to this amazing world!!!
Make sure you start at the beginning with Flawed. LOVED this book. As always the characters are so real and the love is so pure. There were moments I had to put the book down and remember to breathe because the story just grabbed hold and took my emotions for a ride. Love when a book can make me lol, cry and feel joy. This book was a perfect ending to an Amazing series!!!
Sigh! Such a fantastic series. I'm so sad that its over though, I want more. I love this series that says a big eff you to societal norms. It takes what people are so quick to judge as " disgusting, freakish or unacceptable " and says . who the hell gave you the right! It celebrates differences and applauds life outside the box! Thank you Kitty Cox and Auryn Hadley for these most beautiful works!
